A Birthday With Star Wars and Friends

Post by Diana Ridley on Mon May 22, 2017 6:35 pm

    DATE: May 22nd
    TIME: 7:45 PM

Diana hummed softly as she waited for the bus to get to the drive in, several containers holding each of the cakes and a few other treats sitting beside her on the seat. It was going to be her first birthday without her family, though it would have been even if she had stayed back in her home world. For the first time her family had been too busy to come up and see her on the actual day. But now they were just… Gone. All she had left was a few pictures in her wallet and her memories.

The young woman had been fighting off tears off and on throughout the day. Her family had meant so much to her, the had always been there for her and supported her in everything she did. Being without them for too long felt wrong, even while she was attending university. But getting to bake the cakes with her friends, the fact they had all jumped at the chance to help her when they didn't have to or, in Scaramouch's case, didn't know how to... It made her feel all the better. Maybe he was right, maybe they could be like family here... It was nice, and tonight was going to be good too. She'd get to share one of her favorite movies with her favorite people here, and for some of them it'd be for the first time!

Once the bus reached the stop she thanked the driver and, balancing the sweets, made her way out and towards the drive in. Diana probably looked quite comical, such a little thing carrying a stack of containers. She would be lying if she said that her arms weren’t buckling the slight bit under the weight of the confectioneries. Diana made a mental note to work on her upper body strength later, alas, her arms were currently noodles. Making her way towards the sitting area she made it about halfway through, not too close to the front but not too far back. It was in the Goldilocks zone, just right. She set the cakes and triple checked her purse for the silverware she’d brought along.

Diana decided to wait a bit for someone else to show up and watch the confections before she got any concessions.

It was a fabulous, fabulous Monday night. Despite all the hustle and bustle from the nearby highway and the somewhat remote location of Knock Out's drive-in (ha!), all those minor drawbacks largely paled in comparison to the evening's allure. The weather was gorgeous, perfect for a nighttime showing... All their favorite people were gonna be there, including a certain mech and his twos... And, most importantly, it was extra time spent with a special lil' lady~!

Ruby heels - clik, clik, clik'd! - against metal and rubber. "C'mon, Lulu, you slowpoke~! You don't wanna miss the movie, d'ya?"

As their bus came to a shuddering halt at its stop, brakes hissing and engine idling, a colorfully-dressed android was the first to hop out and do a little twirl. A warm blanket lay neatly folded over his shoulder. "Whew, what a drive~! I didn't realize this place was that far." It felt great stretching his legs after being seated down for so long. Hey, with spectacular gams like these, getting a cramp wasn't an option. Cyan diodes happily squinted back at the rumbling bus as the robot offered a metal hand to his other, more fluffy half to their duet. "Watch your step~!" Scaramouch cautioned in sing-song. No one should expect any different at this point. The moment Lunette stepped off the bus and was in the clear, he looked to the driver and tipped his paddy hat. "Thanks for the ride, Jack!" It seems they were the only ones getting off at this stop before the vehicle slowly pulled away and drove off. "...Huh! Wonder how everyone else is gonna get here?" Seriously, Knock Out chose the absolute worst location for his business. Oh well~!

He shrugged to himself, smile unwavering, and swept his gaze around. The very first thing to captivate his interests was that snazzy illuminated sign. "Pfft! It's just as flashy as he is~!" Yep, they were definitely at the right place. And look! They movie they were all viewing was right smack on the billboard~! "Neat! You ever seen Star Wars, Lulu?" The answer would of course be 'no', but Scaramouch thought to ask anyway. "I haven't, though I can't wait to see it with ya~!" And with everyone who showed up too! "I think I'm gonna enjoy the droids no matter what!" he added excitedly. Two droids? And two droids as main characters? Yes, sign this jazzy 'bot up! Lunette was probably going to enjoy the princess. Maybe even the wookie! ...Or perhaps the debonair smuggler, Han Solo?

Hmm, maybe a Jawa or two... Jawas were kinda cute, though they appeared callous in their treatment of droids. On second thought, hopefully not a Jawa.

It would probably come to no surprise to anyone, but Lunette had never really watched a movie in an outside theater before. Though she had heard about it and wished to eventually check it out for herself, there just wasn't any time to really sit and enjoy a film, nevermind the fact that she knew practically nothing of the world of film and media.

"It's not my fault you have longer legs than I do. A step to you is like four to me!"

Luckily for them, the evening was rather nice and the weather favorable. During May, the feline figured there'd be more rain, maybe some more clouds in the sky, but it was just perfect weather! Frankly, she was glad. Accepting Scaramouch's hand and stepping off the bus reminded the cat that her partner wasn't fond of the rain, and she certainly didn't want him uncomfortable. "Thank you, darling." Moving her braid from the front her shoulder to the back, "I hope Bailey and Diana didn't walk all alone through the outer district..." Lunette gave a slightly worried look, turning back and glancing at the road and into the darker underbelly of the city. What a terrible thought... Her hand gripped his softly, but securely, as she stayed right beside the tall robot.

Under her other arm was her purse, weighed down by a few mysterious items inside, one particular a small box with a ribbon attached. A present! Wonder who it was for~ "I've never even heard of Star Wars, honestly..." there was a hint of embarrassment, feeling a little out of the media loop. "But I'm happy to be seeing it with you, too~!" she perked up, letting out a soft chirp at the idea. Aww, look at Scaramouch, all excited to see the two main droids on the big screen! It was just too cute, Lunette began purring softly and smiling. It was going to be another night of pain for her cheeks with all the smiling and laughing she was no doubt going to do, but it was very worth it!

    "I can't wait to see it~!"

Spoiler alert; she'd most likely enjoy Darth Vader.

How is everyone else going to get here, you ask? Dear Scaramouch, have you already forgotten about the doctor with the wings? Indeed, if the robot look up at the sky right about now he would see Shaiamils quickly approaching the drive-in. As quickly as he was spotted, the feathery alien would come in for a graceful landing.

"I see some folks have already arrived," he observed. "Are all of you looking forward to the movie?"

The avian definitely knew what his answer would have been to that question. This was going to be the first time Shaiamils has ever seen a Star Wars movie. Before tonight, he had heard so many great things about the series and was very happy to finally be seeing it himself. On a side note, you have no idea how hard it was for him to avoid spoilers for these films. It was getting to be a major pain in the neck.

Normally, the Drive-In would have been closed to all visitors. The flashy sign would be still and dark, a chain would be latched between the posts at the entrance to keep cars out, and the concession stand would be empty. Instead, the shiny mech was pouring freshly popped corn out of the kettle, stirring it up with the rest. Tonight probably wouldn't bring in too many people since it was a private affair, but Knock Out wasn't about to miss out on a few more sales! Surely Diana's birthday guests would buy a bucket, some chocolate, or even a drink! Good thing he was kind enough to allow this little thing, huh?

Shutting the little glass door to the popcorn maker, he deemed the large pile of yellow kernels to be enough for now. Servoes clasped together, dusting themselves off before he stepped out from behind the counter and sauntered his way through the brightly lit concession stand. Peering out, he could already spy Diana setting up the sitting area with her little cakes. Metal thumped softly against dirt and grass as he stepped over to greet her with a sly grin. "Happy birthday, Diana. We'll consider this little showing my birthday present." He winked. Honestly, he wouldn't mind doing this more often so long as nobody abused the privilege. Party guests meant more hungry mouths! An idea striking him, the mech jutted a thumb towards the stand. "You know, depending on how many guests you have, I might suggest the party combo for you! Comes with a large pizza, 4 medium drinks, and 4 choices of candy. Only twenty credits~." Hey, he wouldn't be a good business owner if he didn't hawk his wares at the opportune moment.

In the distance, Knock Out's optics could pick up a few more people arriving. His bright red gaze settled upon a robot and a certain cat woman, one metal brow raising. "Hm!" Well, no complaints from the Cybertronian. He always loved seeing Lunette, and that robot was nothing if not...interesting. Here's hoping he wasn't too disappointed in the droid characters. Ah, and arriving by sky was none other than the feathery Doctor himself! The alien wasn't new to the Drive-In by any means. Nodding his helm to the arrivals, Knock Out waved in greeting.

    A birthday!

A movie about wars in some stars!

    Spending time with friends!

Yes indeedy, tonight had the makings of a very good one in Kev's eyes. The Drive-In had been the site of several dates for himself and Fear, so going along with some friends instead would be a new experience. Fewer cuddles, but that was fine! The lean alien's manner of arrival was rather simple, of course! He'd walked. These gams weren't just for show, after all! Dressed in a dapper little outfit befitting such an occasion, each step was full of peppy cheer. A bundled up blanket was hugged to his chest, light green and patterned with stars and planets. Before parting ways with his spookums, Kev had been given the blanket and a kiss between the eyes. Just in case things became too cold during the movie.

Passing by the lit up sign, Kev made his way through the entrance and could already see the others who had arrived! The rows meant for cars were empty, which made it easier to see the forms of the other guests. There was Diana and Knock Out in the sitting area, Lunette and Scaramouch who had arrived together (naturally) and Shai! He jogged to catch up, hands too busy to wave. "Hi guys! Happy birthday, Diana! You all ready to watch a movie?~" Here's hoping this Star Wars lived up to the hype!

”Huff, huff, huuuuahh…that maybe wasn’t too smart.”  The woman looked up, breathing heavily. She wiped the hair sticking too her forehead out of her face, taking a moment for a breather as soon as she finally saw what she hoped was the Drive-In. Taking the folded-up sketch of a map that she had traced, Bailey looked back again at a little compass she had managed to get in a trade. This looked about the right place, she was on the right side of the city, so…

”Oh my goodness, I made it!”  The woman swiftly thrust her hands into the air in victory, grinning brightly, and thus dropping the bundle she had brought with her. The demon constantly hovering about her rolled every one of his grotesque eyes and, for the thousandth time, wondered why he was attached to such a moron. ”Of course you made it. Though, to be fair, it could have gone either way with how worthless you are.”

Bailey sighed and waved her hand dismissively before she leaned down to collect the blanket that she had wrestled from The Closet in The Sanctuary. “Stuff a sock in it, Creamer.”  The demon growled, but she paid him no heed. This was no time to pay attention to grumpy draws on her energy and patience, this was a time for a birthday celebration! That was what was important here, not Creamer.  Looking down at herself, Bailey picked and prodded a bit at her shirt to get it to lay back down right. She didn’t really like the bare-arm look, but the cami top was light and, as she had done, Bailey had known she was going to do a lot of running.

She had been instructed to not go into the Outer District, and she didn’t! She didn’t duck into one alleyway, one sketchy area, none of it! She had avoided it completely, and done a damn fine job of improvising! Did she take the bus, you might ask? Of course not, she was broke! She couldn’t afford bus fare if she tried! So how did she get here, if she walked, but didn’t go through the Outer District? Well, fine reader, Bailey did the only logical thing left.

She ran around the city. Every muscle in her body was screaming at her right then, but that’s fine. She’ll just stretch a great deal and then pass out for a week once she got back to her bed. Until then, she was going to walk on over towards the Drive-In and have a nice time.

”Hi, everyone! Happy Birthday, Diana!”  She grinned, excited for the upcoming events, and completely ignored the gagging sounds Creamer was making behind her.

It didn’t take long for others to start showing up, she could see Scaramouch and Lunette arrive by bus as well. Sure the place was pretty much deserted, but she was small and easy to miss so the young woman took off her yellow sunhat, patted down her hair, and waved it in their direction. “Mochi~ Lunette~ Ovah here!” She called, waving them down before setting her hat next to her purse. The sun had set awhile ago and she had no use for it or the gloves in her purse for the moment, besides it would just block the view for others. Alas, it did help bring her outfit together. Oh well.

Why what was that in the sky? A bird? A plane? No, it was a bird, an alien bird to be specific. Almost as soon as she’d spotted him Shaiamils came in for a landing nearby. “Oh yes, this should be a great evenin’, what’s better than watchin’ a movie with friends?” She asked. Of course she had always watched these movies with family, but she wasn’t about to say that. “Glad ta’ see ya’ could make it, hon.” Diana smiled.

Shai wasn’t the only one to make a flashy entrance, though knowing Knock Out that was just his usual entrance. The young woman waved at him as he made his approach and smiled widely at him when he stopped by her, wishing her a happy birthday. “Thank you again for this, sugah, ah know ya’ didn’t have ta’ do this so it really means a lot!” Oh how she wished she could bake him something, but he was a Cybertronian and that likely wouldn’t work well. She’d have to think of something else besides her usual means of giving thanks.

“Ooh, that sounds like a good deal, hon, ah think ah’ll go ahead with that then. Just gotta find out what all everyone wants ta’ drink.” She said before starting to dig through her purse for her wallet to get out the credits needed for the food. Even after going shopping for new clothes she still had a good chunk of change on her. Her parents had been very generous and always sent her money along with care packages and words of encouragement, even though she’d only been two hours away. Oh goodness, don’t think about them, not right now.

As she had finally managed to fish out her wallet she heard a familiar voice calling to her. Diana looked up to see a rather dapper looking Kev jogging over to them. “Hey! Thank you, honey! Glad you could make it!” She smiled widely, little fangs peeking out as she did. “Sure am, hon! Ah just hope y’all like it!” Oh she hoped they would enjoy the movie, they were her favorite people in this world and it would be great if they enjoyed her favorite movie.

It was long before she heard a familiar buzzing in her ears, squinting the young lady looked around until her eyes found who she’d been looking for. Bailey had arrived, and my goodness the poor thing looked exhausted! “S’cuse me y’all,” She’d be back to pay you Knock Out! She just had to make sure poor Bailey was alright. “Oh hon, you okay? You look like ya’ just ran a marathon!” Despite the poor girl being all sweaty she offered her arm for support, what kind of friend would she be if she hadn’t? “Thank you, sugah! Glad you could make it,” She’d have to get an extra drink so everyone could have something, and she’d make sure that Bailey got a large.

"It's not my fault you have longer legs than I do. A step to you is like four to me!"

And he was supposed to sympathize with someone who'd like Darth Vader...? Nope~! The android reacted with a playful roll of his optics and flashed Lunette a cheeky grin. What else? "Just means ya gotta hustle n' bustle those curves, babe~." Or, you know, Scaramouch could always just slow his roll and awkwardly shuffle. "You're welcome, Lulu! As for Bailey and Diana...?" Admittedly, Scaramouch hadn't figured how either of the young women planned their transportation. Based on past conversations and interactions, he assumed Diana would be cognizant enough to take the city bus (much like they had) and arrive safely. Bailey, though...? Cyan diodes flickered - a blink - and stared in the same direction as Lunette's worried gaze. "Hm, well..." He squeezed the Anitra's hand and remained fairly optimistic. "Bailey's a lil' sheltered, but she's a regular bearcat! If anyone messes with her, she'll either disarm them with raw fury or overwhelming awkwardness. Plus, there's Creamer~!" Not like the demon was worth his otherworldly weight in usefulness, but even Creamer would be hard-pressed to let Bailey bite it. That would undoubtedly see harm and/or death done to him, right?

...Or, something like that. Scaramouch wasn't confident in his knowledge when it came to supernatural entities and the plethora of rules surrounding them. He was definitely confident when it came to pestering Lunette, though! "Aw, is someone embarrassed~?" the robot cooed obnoxiously. Alright, alright; that was enough teasing her. "Don't worry, Lulu. We can be embarrassed together. I wouldn't have it any other way~!" If push came to shove, they could always just cuddle and make the most of it. Maybe even bother Knock Out, too~!

    “Mochi~ Lunette~ Ovah here!”

Aha! The birthday girl~! And goodness, wasn't she looking pretty darb tonight? Love, love those bold heels. The android tipped his paddy hat to the other woman and waved it. "Howdy, Miss D! Happy birthday~! Thanks for invitin' us! Hope you weren't waitin' too - ?"

    ...flap! ...flap! ...flap!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... just a fluffy avian alien who was mad gay for this jazzy 'bot~!

"Well, well, well~! If it isn't our resident doctor, comin' down to grace us with his presence." Was that a mischievous twinkle in Scaramouch's optic? No, of course not~! He was gonna be on his best behavior tonight. "Glad to see ya could make it, Doc! And yeah, we're lookin' forward to seein' a nice show!" Why wouldn't they be? And they called the robot a silly goose, hmph~! "Lulu and I were about to ankle on over toward admissions and wait for everyone else - oh, and speakin' of that..." He eyed the Doc's wings in a not-so-subtle manner. "Have you by chance, um, spotted Bailey while you were up there? She didn't come with us, so..."

"Hi guys! Happy birthday, Diana! You all ready to watch a movie~?"

Mad gay was just elevated to turbogay. Fans loudly whirred at the sight of a certain green instigator as Scaramouch's grin stretched from auditory sensor to auditory sensor. "Hiya, freeeeeak~!" Yes, he sang that in the most irritating way possible. "Lookin' mighty hep to the jive, there. Nice blanket~." Glad he wasn't the only one who thought about the cold.

Let's see... that's the Doc and Kev, but where was - ?

    ”Hi, everyone! Happy Birthday, Diana!”

Welp, mystery solved! There was no mistaking that healthy crop of red hair anywhere. There was also no mistaking the copious amounts of sweat beading down her brow, either... "Woooooow," Scaramouch let out a low whistle, impressed. Mostly amused, but also impressed. "You ran all the way here? Hon~! Color me not surprised..." That Bailey, always doing things the hard way. What a dork~! Shaking his head (and yes, with a smile), he reached into his pea coat and flipped a credit chip the kiddo's way. "Here, a couple of simoleons for the ride back. Creamer can use his gross doggies~!" It wasn't much, but it sure as hell beat hoofing it through the city streets at night. Besides, Lunette's peace of mind was worth the expense.

"Looks like the gang's all here!" Scaramouch remarked, chipper enough for everyone and some change.

Post by Lunette on Sat May 27, 2017 4:09 pm

Hustle and bustle... that's basically what she did every day! Those cheeks puffed up a little, lip curling into a pout as she stuck her nose up and to the side. But... of course that didn't last long. The android soon enough made her smile, talking about Bailey and where she could be. It was true, Creamer wasn't fond of the attachment they had, but it'd be stupid to allow harm to come to the girl. It was comforting--just a little bit--knowing Bailey wasn't alone. Lunette would give credit where it was due in that regard. "You're right, as usual~ I just can't help but worry sometimes." Most of the time... okay, all the time.

The feline fluffed at the teasing, smiling softly and gently batting at the sleeve of his peacoat before waving to Diana in greeting. "Hello, Diana! Happy birthday~" Now would be a good time to hand over the present, right? She didn't want to the woman on the spot or anything, though... Lunette quickly decided to hold off on handing over the gift until after the film! It wasn't that big anyway and it was easy to hide in her purse. It'd be a nice way to end the evening, too! Speaking of the nice evening, more friends were arriving! Boy... it had been a while since Lunette had gone to a casual outing with a bunch of friends... it was quite lovely being able to do it again, here, with all of these wonderful people.

Oh no, there she went. She was fluffing and her purring grew louder at the thought. The feline waved to Shaiamils and soon Kevvy, trying not to ascend into cloud form in front of everyone. Bailey hadn't arrived yet, but that's alright. She'd surely be here soon... Until then, though, her arm unlocked from Scaramouch's for just a moment as she gave the mouthless alien a hug. "You look adorable, Kevvy~" she cooed, kissing his left cheek, then the right. Letting go and about to return to the android's side, Bailey had arrived and with a large amount of sweat covering her. D... Did she... walk the entire way?? Oh, that poor dear!

"Bailey, you must be so tired!" The maternal instinct kicked in as Lunette approached the drenched girl, taking out her kerchief and handing it to her. As much as she'd want to wipe Bailey's face for her, that'd... be kind of embarrassing, no doubt. "Here you go, dear. And don't worry, just a bit more walking and then you'll get to sit! Let's get you something nice and cold to drink, too..." Oh!

A flufflepuff gasp escaped her, watching Scaramouch hand Bailey some legal tender for the bus back. What a gentleman he was! It was going to be hard for her not to kiss him in front of everyone, but she'd restrain. Not everyone approved of public displays of affection, after all, and this was support to be a casual, relaxing night! There'd be plenty of time later for snuggling and kissing... "Hee~" Lunette led Bailey next to her as she approached the musical bot's side, taking hold of his hand once more. She, too, was ready to watch the wars in the stars!

"Good to see you too, Scaramouch~" Shaiamils replied to the robot, chuckling. No, that mischievous little twinkle most certainly did not go unnoticed. "You too Lunette, Kev! Hm.. No, I do not think I've seen Bailey. Maybe something came up?"

Speak of the devil, however, and the devil shall appear! Scatbot's inquiry was answered soon enough with the arrival of Bailey. The doctor was unable to stifle a small frown at the sight, his feathery crest lowering slightly. Has she really walked the entire way here? Now Shaiamils felt bad. Had he known that she was without transport, he could've easily called a cab or something for her. His attention was quickly grabbed by Knock Out's party combo suggestion, and Diana's interest in the combo. By now the growling of the avian's stomach became impossible to hide.

"Ooh, pizza and candy sounds wonderful right about now," the feathery alien agreed. "I'll take a blue raspberry icee, and some skittles! I think I'll buy an extra large tub of popcorn we all can share, too. How does that sound?"

    Gotta have popcorn, you know?

Diana's gratitude earned her a wide smile and a tip of his helm to her. "You're welcome~! It's always nice to have more fans of the Drive-In around!" The mech purred in response. Sure, being open on a day he normally wasn't could have been inconvenient...but the group coming for tonight's show was a smaller one. It was easier to manage. One movie, a handful of people, concessions to be sold and some cake to top it off. When one looked at it that way, it wasn't such a bad deal at all. The smile widened into a grin, and his bright red optics almost began to sparkle. She took it, she took the party combo! "A wonderful choice, Diana!" Now all they needed was to take some drink and candy orders!

As everybody came to greet Diana and give her their Birthday wishes, the Cybertronian stood off to the side. He was technically not a part of this party, after all, merely the business owner allowing the venue. Scaramouch the robot prattled on in that voice of his, somehow tiptoeing the line between interesting character and obnoxious clucking chicken. He was obviously not going to be ordering any drinks or candy. Crimson optics moved to a certain scaly man, someone who could be considered a semi-regular attendant. Too bad his date was always Fear. And with no mouth...he'd be ordering a drink and nothing else. Young Bailey came jogging in, another new person and another fan of the movies! Lunette went to her, fussing over her and suggesting she get a drink. This was when Knock Out figured it was time to speak up again. Stepping forward, he raised a servo to attract attention to himself.

"Diana actually ordered a party combo for the group! I'll gladly take Bailey's drink order, along with candy, along with three other customers to complete the combo! And of course, anything else that may be ordered on the side." Diana, Bailey, Lunette, and Shai were the likely suspects to complete the combo, being the only organic guests with mouths. What a fancy stroke of luck, eh~? Even better, as the birb Doctor spoke up to put in his order along with a side order of popcorn! "You've got it, Doc~" The mech smiled, committing the order to memory. Three more to go and he could start getting these snacks and goodies ready before the movie started. The pizza would take a bit longer, but everything else was simple enough!

"Glad to be here!" Kev responded, clutching the blanket a little closer as his eyes squinted in pleasure. The sight of her prominent canines drew a slight pause from the alien, but he elected not to comment. It might be rude, and besides, they were just teeth! Diana was no vampire, even with her allergy to the sun. "I'm sure I will! There aren't many movies I don't like." Not that he'd seen a vast amount of them anyway but...well that was just fine. It seems he wasn't the only one to get a little dressed up for today! He looked Diana's outfit up and down with a content hum. "You look very pretty! That color shirt is very nice on you, Diana."

    "Hiya, freeeeeak~!"

Ah yes, this was truly the gay mating call of the Scaragoose. Even with a lovely feline woman attached to his arm, the Scaragoose was compelled to honk at all the males in the vicinity! Huffing to himself, Kev readjusted the blanket in his arms until he could balance it easily in one. The free arm waved in Scaramouch's direction, fingers wiggling. "Hello, jerkface~!" Hep to the...what? Were those words? Electing to take it as a compliment, the alien trilled softly. "Thank you! You're looking pretty...hip and groovy, as always!" Nailed it. Next to greet him was Lunette, the extra poofy cat giving him a hug and a peck to each cheek. The trill was louder this time, his one-armed hug squeezing her. "Thank you Lunette~ You look absolutely gorgeous!" The braid suited her very nicely! Releasing her, he again wriggled his fingers, though this time they were pointed towards Shai. "Hey, Shai!" Good, good, that was almost everyone. Except for...!

Bailey! The exhausted girl came over, looking quite sweaty indeed. Both women went to her immediately to check on her, soon joined by Scaramouch. Kev kept back, hoping not to crowd her. The idea of getting her a drink came up, and the vain Cybertronian spoke up about orders. His attention was more taken by Scaramouch and the way he gave Bailey some credits for her to get a ride home! "Aaw~!" What a sweet robot. With everybody accounted for and everything settled, it seems it was now time to give out their orders! Kev shrugged his slim shoulders, making his way to the seating area. The blanket settled into a bright green lawn chair. "I'll go ahead and get a separate order, please. A medium lemonade." No use ordering as part of the party combo when he could only imbibe on one of the three parts of the combo!

Bailey couldn’t help but blush a bit at all of the attention that her arrival brought. She hadn’t meant to cause such a spectacle, honest! She just hadn’t thought her plan through all the way, is all…

The blushing ginger raised a hand to politely decline Diana’s arm. ”Oh, no Diana! I don’t want to get you all sweaty, I’m okay! I’m just glad I made it on time!” She smiled a little nervously. She couldn’t get the Birthday Lady sweaty, that’d be awful! She wasn’t completely sure about etiquette rules for birthday movie parties, but Bailey was pretty sure that sweating on the Birthday Lady was considered bad etiquette.

    "Woooooow,"

"Bailey, you must be so tired!"

Bailey looked at Scaramouch and Lunette as they approached and smiled sheepishly with a shrug. ”Well, I don’t really have money for a bus. Oh, thanks Lunette.” Bailey took the offered kerchief, and used it to lightly dab at her face, mostly just around her eyes. Thankfully she wasn’t drenched in sweat, but she still wasn’t exactly presentable like this. When Scaramouch flipped a credit chip to her, Bailey caught it (with a bit of fumbling) before smiling brightly at the robot. ”Thanks! That helps a lot, thank you.”

The woman allowed herself to be led by the little triad closer to the group, still grinning. Creamer, the party-pooper, was maintaining a fair distance away from the group. A distance away from Lunette, in particular.  He had no interest in joining in on this little…thing, anyway.  He stayed over in the dark, not that Bailey needed the light to see him. She had discovered that little note during one of Creamer’s many 3am “discussions”.

”Oh, a drink sounds lovely. If there’s Mountain Dew, that’d be amazing.” She liked her sugar and caffeine all in one convenient bottle, thank you very much. ”Aw, a party combo! That sounds like a great idea!”   The woman, who was now cooling off, took a moment to think about her candy choice as she adjusted her blanket in her arms. ”Do you have Red Vines, Knock Out?”

Diana smiled and waved at the couple as they approached the group. “Why thank ya’, and of course, hon! Y’all are mah friends, how could ah not invite ya’? An’ don’t worry, ah only just got here mahself.” She reassured the android with a flick of her wrist. Scaramouch was quickly distracted by a certain doctor coming in for a landing, and she couldn’t blame him. He went about greeting everyone in the group, asking Shai if he’d seen Bailey before the woman in question appeared. And oh what a gentleman that Scaramouch could be, he handed over some credits to their friend so she could get a proper ride back home. Diana gave his arm a pat and directed a smile up at him before she went back to her purse.

It was Miss Kitty who directed a greeting and another happy birthday for her. She looked up as she’d found her wallet and sent her a sharp toothed smile. “Hi Lunette! Why thank you hon, ah’m so glad ya’ could make it!” Her face was beginning to hurt from all the smiling she was doing, but it was hard to stop! All these people had taken time out of their lives to watch a movie with her on her birthday. Of course she wasn’t expecting any presents, they all had only known her for a short time, but to her their presence was presents enough for her.

Did her ears deceive her or did she hear a rumbling stomach? Oh no sir, that just wouldn’t do! Not at all! As an honorary southern belle she couldn’t just let someone go hungry, no sirree. Diana pulled out the twenty credits and handed them to Knock Out. “Here ya’ go, sugah, for the combo.” Shai was already giving the Cybertronian his order, making the young woman squint her eyes happily. “Oh! Why thank you, Shai, that’s very generous of you!” A movie just wasn’t a movie without some popcorn and the doctor had offered to buy a large one for them all to share! How lovely, she put a hand on his arm and gave  it a gentle squeeze along with another smile before she looked back to Knock Out, now what exactly did she want to drink and snack on…?  “Ah think ah’d like a Sprite and a Crunch bar, honey. What all would we like on the pizza, y’all?” She directed the question to those of whom among them that could actually eat. One of these days she would feed both Scaramouch and Kev. One day.

Speaking of Kev, he was still holding onto his blanket and standing nearby. She may or may not have caught on to his pause, but if she did she didn’t acknowledge it. She did, however, close her mouth to cover up her canines, but she didn’t stop smiling and she nodded. “That’s a good way ta’ be, no point in gettin’ all up in arms about somethin’ like a movie.” He seemed to be looking her up and down and with a hum he spoke up. “Oh! Why thank you, honey! Cooler colors tend to work better with mah coloring. And ah must say that you look quite dapper yourself!” She reached out and touched his arm with a smile. “If ya’ want ya’ can set the blanket down next ta’ the tins while we all get comfortable.”

Back to Bailey who had politely declined her offer, stating she hadn’t wanted to make her all sweaty. “Ah’m glad ya’ made it too! It wouldn’t be the same without ya’!” She smiled widely, once again baring those sharp canines, normally she tried to hide them as much as possible but she was simply so happy! It was hard to keep a small, discreet smile with such a great crowd of people!
