"Mommy! Can't we stay for a few more minutes?"
"Yeah, come on!"
"Alright... just 10 more minutes!"
Cheering in jubilation, the children ran back to the playground and to a larger group of children, all of which were excitedly playing on top of a new addition to the playground equipment. The new piece was actually not at all any type of equipment. Instead, it was only Nym, resting in the playground as he attempted to take a nap. It wasn't coming along well, having kids climb up his back and slide down his tail, tug on his ears or constantly bap or poke him... it was a nightmare, but Nym was too tired from the cold to get up and move. The children may have been annoying, but their cushy jackets and pettings were nice and warm. He particularly enjoyed when the kids were gentle with petting, often playing with his mane and scratching behind his ears.
"Wheeeee!" an auburn-haired girl shouted as she slid down Nym's back and tail. "I wish I had a dinosaur pet..." The girl sighed before climbing the Digimon's back once more for another ride. Nym could only let out a loud huff, small puffs of smoke escaping his nostrils as he did. The children all "oooooh'd" at the same time, witnessing this. With curious hands ready, they poked Nym's face gently and tried to open his mighty maw, but the Growlmon refused to do that, at least. They may poke and prod and be general terrors, but opening his mouth would be a certainly bad place to explore for such tiny beings.
Not that he would eat them--most may have smelled like food, but they also didn't smell very good. Children had terrible hygiene habits, after all. Another sigh escaped him as the kids finally gave up, some leaving with their families to go home and others continuing their play atop Nym's body, mostly. Some finally got bored and went to the other contraptions, but they still watched... As if they were waiting for the Digimon to get up and do something. It would certainly be more exciting for them, but... Nym just wanted a nap.
That was all.
Just a nap!
Not today, he guessed, letting out a soft yawn, the children once again "ooohing" at the display. He'd not get sleep today, but at least he was entertaining to someone...
