"Oh! I want popcorn dad!" Kat bounced in place, hungrily looking over the menu with all three of her eyes.

"Chill kiddo, we'll get ya your popcorn. Alex rested a hand on his daughters head, holding her in place before she did something like bouncing through the ceiling, or shape shifted into a Kangaroo. Kat stopped bouncing, playfully smacking at Alex's hand when he refused to remove it. "I'm thinking those pretzels look pretty good. Hey," he up at Leo and gave him a nudge in the ribs. "Good job finding this place. Haven't been to an actual movie in like...I dunno for fucking ever?"

"Swear." Leo gently reminded his husband, they'd been trying to cut back on the cursing ever since Kat had been sent home with a note. Apparently the school didn't like it when your child dropped an F bomb in the middle of lunch. Alex nudged him in the ribs a little less gently but didn't object when Leo let his hand rest on his hip. "They've got a kids meal Kat, you could get a hotdog, pizza, or hamburger, and a small popcorn, and a candy. You even get a drink."

    Fu-ah-Freaking hell, I'm a kid."

    "No you're not."

"Hey I'm a kid at heart." Well Leo certainly couldn't argue with that. In front of them Kat started to bounce again, more excited than ever.

"I want the kids meal! " At least they were all excited, certainly a welcome change to the lethargic state they'd all been in recently. The cold weather was really taking a toll, maybe they should move somewhere warm? Finally they got to the front of the line, Leo smiled at the concessions worker.

"Hi, we'll have a number one with rootbeer, a number three with a rootbeer as well, and a the kids combo,"

Ah, January. Since January had no holidays to capitalize on, Knock Out's position was a bit more...flexible. Rather than linger around outside to greet everybody and give brochures, Knock Out had given some greetings and brochures out in the front before moving to help in other positions. Anybody could hand out little brochures with movie information... Despite the ordinary nature of this month, today the Drive-In had brought in a good crowd of people! They definitely kept Knock Out's servoes busy as he manned one of the registers, typing in orders and gathering them up to serve with a smile. The crimson Cybertronian huffed a quick cycle of air before straightening up as new customers approached the counter. Two human men and a... Was that little girl blue? With three eyes? His optics blinked audibly before he shrugged it off. Far be it from him to judge family structures. "Hello, welcome to the Drive-In!"

The time spent in line had given the dark haired man and his family enough time to already have their orders ready. The mech's servoes hovered above the register as he listened attentively. A number one and a number three, both with root beers, and a kid's combo. Knock Out's fingers danced across the buttons as they clicked in response, recording their orders and spitting out a number value for what was owed. "That will be 14 credits! Is the kid's combo with a hot dog, a hamburger, or pizza? And will the drink be a root beer as well?" Reaching beneath the counter, Knock Out pulled out three cups; two medium, one small. A fountain machine was located immediately to the left of the register, and so the mech began to get their drinks ready as he waited for confirmation and payment. Scooping ice into one cup, he placed it beneath the root beer fountain and pressed the button, waiting for it to fill to the top. Before their final payment could be given though, Knock Out saw a chance to offer more food to the family. Leaning an elbow onto the counter, he smiled back at them pleasantly. "Would you like to add a medium popcorn to the number one or number three? It would only be one credit more." Clasping a plastic drink top on the drink and reaching for a straw, he laid them to rest on the counter for either man to grab as he got to work on the second medium cup, filling it up with ice and root beer.

Was that a GIANT ROBOT? Painted bright red?! Kat looked up at said giant robot in awe and wonder, and felt a sudden urge to climb all over him, she wanted to stand on his shoulders and head and declare herself the King of the world. What was an evil dictator without an awesome robot minion after all?

She could see it now, she'd conquer the world using her incredibly awesome robot minion who would shoot all of her enemies down into flames with his awesome laser eyes! It'd be so cool!

Of course while Kat was stuck in her dreams of grandeur said robot minion was actually trying to run a business, one that didn't probably involve laser eyes. "She'll have a hot dog and a coke." Leo patted his daughters head as she continued to stare up at knockout, thinking about how cool he'd look with a cape and some flames on his arms and legs.

"No thanks, we should be pretty good." Leo handed Knockout the credits, slipping in an extra five as a tip since it looked to be a little slow. Alex went to work slowly gathering up the drinks, handing one of the rootbeers to Leo while they waited patiently for Knockout to finish. "Kinda slow tonight huh?" Alex piped up, more just to make conversation than anything else.

The little blue girl stared up at him with three eyes wide with wonder. Knock Out managed a slight smile back at her, rather unnerved by the attention. The mech was used to being a 'robot in disguise' rather than somebody to be openly gawked at. Of course, a lot of things on the Breach weren't the way they usually were. Knock Out didn't usually own a Drive-In, after all! And besides, the girl's attention wasn't so bad... He was tempted to preen for her, really show off the elegant shine while she was admiring his work, but alas! Work waited for no mech!

"Alright!" Knock Out confirmed, pouring ice into the small cup and placing it beneath the coke nuzzle to be filled up. The thick mixture splashed into each cup, Knock Out eyeing them carefully to make sure there was no spill. What an odd little drink... Though the small had been tended to last, it was filled up first. He pulled it away from the soda machine and popped the plastic top on just in time for the medium root beet to be finished. Since both mediums were the same drink, Knock Out didn't bother punching in the little tabs on top. Fishing out two more straws, he pushed both drinks over to the customer's side of the counter to join the other cup.

Knock Out dangled his bait of a popcorn upgrade, but there were no bites. Not even a nibble! Such a shame...there was always next time. The crimson Cybertronian accepted the credits and counted them out, finding himself five credits heavier than he should have been. Stashing away the correct amount, he held the extra five out for Leo to grab. "Sorry, but you seem to have given me a bit extra! Your total was only 14 credits." The concept of a tip hadn't even blipped up on his radar, processor immediately thinking the man had miscounted his money. It was rather easy to do, and the right thing to do was to inform the man!

After that was settled, Knock Out turned his attention to the counters that lay behind his back. With the drinks finished, that meant it was time to gather up the food... What was it again...? Ah yes! Two hot dogs, the kid's meal with one of the dogs, and two pretzels with cheese. The mech made a beeline for the hot dog roller. With a slight rattle, he pulled at the bottom drawer to reveal several hot dog buns laying in wait within. Knock Out shoved on a little rubber glove, one that was stretched way beyond its limited on his pointy metal hand! Clacking his fingertips together, he glanced over a shoulder as he fished out two buns.

"A little, yes. It usually is rather slow out here, unless I'm hosting an event of some kind. You should have come last month! Your daughter there would have gotten her food for free, and we showed many different 'Christmas' movies. We also had many special goodies, only for that month." As he talked, the Cybertronian worked. With two buns that weren't shredded up and mangled, he fished out two hot dogs out of the roller and nestled them inside the buns. A faint steam rose from the plump pieces of meat. Both hot dogs were wrapped inside a foil packet to keep them warm, rolled up tight. One of them was set down alongside the drinks, and Knock Out glanced up to smile at the men and their child. "Hey, there's always next year." He winked playfully, before he pulled out a tray from beneath the counter. Underneath there was a whole stack of them, already folded and everything! The second hot dog was placed inside of this tray, in the large open area. Knock Out picked up the small drink and shoved it into the cup-holder that was a part of the tray. Dipping his head down to better see the little girl, he gave her a small wave.

"You get to have a box of candy with this meal, so you can pick from any candy you see inside of the glass!" Knock Out gestured downwards, within the counter to the windowed area before her face. Inside were many different boxes of candy, all waiting and on display for her! M&Ms, peanut butter M&Ms, Reese's peanut butter cups, Reese's Pieces, Junior Mints, Gummi Bears, chocolate covered Gummi Bears, Crunch Bars, even a Kit Kat! All of this sugar, and chocolate. All of it, waiting to be picked.

Kat continued to stare in awe, and then the robot smiled at her and her eyes quickly averted down the ground in spite of herself. What was this strange pulsing in her chest? Why was her face warm? Kat scowled at the ground, she didn't get these feelings at all! What were these stupid feelings?

While Kat was dealing with the issues of her budding crush, good luck there knockout, Leo and Alex patiently waited and made small talk. It'd been awhile since either of them had seen a giant robot, other than Livewire. "Are you a cybertronian by chance?" Leo asked curious. It wasn't exactly polite to assume that EVERY giant robot was a cybertronian after all. And ah, maybe they should have mentioned it was a tip. "Keep the extra as a tip," Leo waved it off, ignoring the way that Alex looked at him amused.

Oh man did those hot dogs look good, in fact all the food looked good. "We'll have to swing around next time then. Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun." Kat raised her head to look up at her tray, and then of course, the robot came into view.

Silently she pointed at the gummy bears and then proceeded to actually shuffle behind Alex ever so slightly something which made both of her dad's look at her in confusion.

As soon as Knock Out made eye to optic contact with the young girl, she averted her gaze back down to the ground. A metal brow quirked at her strange behavior, but Knock Out shrugged it off. Organics were known for acting strange sometimes, young little alien organics were even stranger. The mech redirected his attention back onto her fathers, nodding his head to the dark haired one. "Indeed, I am! I've been here...hm, I suppose it's been about two and a half Earth years..." Such a short time, especially for his own people! And yet, so much had changed in just a handle of Earth years. All those Stellar cycles with Breakdown, and now the mech was gone... The former medic pursed his lips, though only for a moment as Leo spoke again. "Oho, a tip! Well, I assure you that your tip shall not go unwanted or unappreciated!" Rather than deposit the extra credits into the register, he placed them in the little tip jar that sat on the counter. A sharp digit lightly prodded the glass jar, smiling down at the credits inside. Not many tipped quite as well as this man here did, but every little bit counts!

The food and drink was gathered on the counter, and Knock Out paused to hover a finger above everything, keeping count as he got it all ready. Three drinks, two hot dogs, the tray was in progress...right. That left only the #3, two pretzels with cheese sauce to dip it in. Those would be easy enough to snag. With a light nod to himself, he turned back to Leo with a light grin. "I'll be sure to look out for you! I do not think we have anymore events for a while, but we always advertise on the bulletin board when something new comes up. Also, we have a suggestion box on the side of the building in case you want to see a specific movie." He jabbed a thumb in the direction of Leo's companion and gave a fake whisper. "It's very useful for dates!"

The little girl finally looked back up at him once he had addressed her. He leaned over the counter ever so slightly, to better see what she had been pointing at. Once his optics found the box with colorful gummy bears inside, he gave her a smile. "Excellent choice!" Pulling himself back over to his side of the counter, he slid the door to the glass case open and reached an arm inside. The box was plucked, and soon stuffed inside of the tray to sit with the hot dog and drink. Her strange behavior only increased, now hiding behind the other man's leg. Both men seemed surprised by the behavior, which had to mean this was even stranger than he had thought. Knock Out blinked, lightly confused as he leaned an arm on the counter to peek down at her through her father's leg. "You don't have to be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you." That had to be the cause of this behavior, right? Fear that the big, scary, pointy robot was going to hurt her and her daddies?

The mech frowned lightly to himself before turning back to the length of counter space that stretched across the back of the concession stand. Next to the hot dog roller sat a different little machine, where pretzels that had already been baked sat hanging on a little hook. Grabbing a few layers of thin paper wrap, he unhooked two pretzels and folded them neatly inside of the paper. He may as well have been tucking the pretzel into bed with the detail he put into housing them! Soft with an outer layer of crispiness, and salt sprinkled on top. Knock Out brought the 'package' over and set it down with the rest of the food. Only one thing left... Plucking a paper cup expertly in his sharp digits, he carried it over to the nacho cheese and chili machine. A few sturdy pumps were all that were needed to fill the cup to the brim with golden cheese. Careful not to spill any, he brought it down to place it upon the counter as if setting down a holy object. His servoes beheld his work, digits splaying like a woman on a game show showing off the winning answer!

"Aaand there you have it! A number 1, number 3, and a number 6, with two root beers and a coke!" He was, perhaps, a bit too proud. "There's an area by the napkins if you wish to put more condiments on your hot dogs. I hope you three enjoy the show, and that you will return someday!"

Strange didn't even begin to cover this behavior, Leo just let it happen, accepting his daughters strange and suddenly shy attitude. Alex on the other hand continued to glance back and forth between Knockout and Kat, what could cause her to behave like this? Had she met this giant robot somewhere before? Man if he had been pickin on his kid...wait though...that didn't really make sense. Where would they have even met?

With Alex wracking his brain and Kat keeping her eyes on the ground Leo was left to make all the conversation. Which was probably for the best considering what Knockout did next. Leo snorted and winked, "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." All joking aside it wasn't a bad idea, the two of them hadn't just been on a date by themselves in years. It could be a lot of fun going to the movies by themselves, then he'd only have to worry about keeping one person out of fights.

Kat kept her face buried in the back of Leo's jeans up to the moment that Knockout spoke. Then her face, a far darker shade of blue, popped out from behind her dad to very proudly and fiercely declare..."I'm not afraid of anything!" The little alien puffed up, like she was trying to make herself seem bigger.

"Kat..." well back to normal then. "Use your indoor voice, and be nice." Leo stated firmly. Alex meanwhile was having a eureka moment for what was perhaps the first time in his life, glancing between the robot and his daughter, shit eating grin growing ever larger with every passing second.

"Looks good! Thanks a bunch, I'm sure we will!" Leo made sure everyone had their drinks before picking up the tray and walking over to get some napkins, Kat gave knockout one final look before turning away, her face pointed at the ground. Alex just followed after, laughing when she nearly ran into a cardboard cutout.

At least the girl's behavior wasn't just odd to Knock Out. Both fathers seemed confused by their daughter, though the dark haired human seemed to have accepted the behavior. The fair haired one seemed a bit more concerned. Particularly from the way he kept looking between the little girl and Knock Out himself... The mech offered the man his best shrug. He knew none of these people! If there was any sort of explanation for why she was acting like this, they wouldn't find the answer with him! The mech was merely an innocent bystander.

Grinning like a cat that ate a canary, the former medic returned the wink. A soft click sounded as he winked and the metal plates that made his lids touched. "Great~! I think next month could be a good time..." Drive-in's seemed to be a magnet for dates. He'd seen it in action at the Drive-Ins on Earth (thankfully not like that) and his own Drive-In had already been used as a date by several couples. As long as no interfacing occurred in his bathroom, he was at peace with being the local date spot. The more, the merrier! Perhaps he could find some good romance movies to play next month...

Before Knock Out could get too deep into his own thoughts for the future, the little alien female decided to speak up again. Peeking out from around her dark haired father's legs, she insisted that she wasn't afraid of anything. An amused grin grew at the sight of her angry, blueberry face. She even puffed up like an angry kitty! How feisty. How...oddly cute! Leo scolded his daughter for being rude, and Knock Out waved a servo. "Don't worry, it's my mistake!" Peering down at the little girl, he chuckled warmly. "Not afraid of anything, huh? Not even a pointy, scary robot? You must be a very brave little girl." The mech complimented, voice like honey as he flattered the little girl. She had moxy, and he could appreciate moxy. Besides, she was rather harmless...

The blond father, on the other hand, was beginning to creep him out. Still glancing between his daughter and the Cybertronian, now he had a large grin upon his face. Almost a smirk, really, filled with an amused smugness. His own smile almost fell, unpleasant tingles worming up his spine. What in the world...? Deeming it a subject better left undiscovered, Knock Out waved a servo at the family as they gathered up their goods and began to leave."You're welcome, and have a good night! If you need anything, I'll be here!" The little girl stole one final look at the mech, which would earn her a broad grin and wiggling digits as he waved at her. With her face pointed back to the ground, the girl nearly walked right into a cardboard cutout as she left, something which made her blond father laugh aloud. Waiting until the family had left the building, Knock Out looked himself over with a critical look in his optic.

"Hm, maybe I should tone down the waxing..." Apparently, his shiny body was distracting some of the customers! That explained the young girl's reaction, right...? New customers stepped up to the counter, and Knock Out turned to them with a smile. One digit hovering above the register, he greeted them. "Hello, and welcome to the Portal Breach Drive-In!"
