    A New Home

The skeleton brothers had been in this strange new world for no longer than an hour, and they were already well on their way. Following their new mummy friend through the streets of Portal City, they had a lot to take in that was completely new to them. For starters, life on the surface. Of the planet, that is. As in not underground! It was clearly overwhelmingly exciting for Papyrus, but Sans seemed relatively subdued. Look at that! That building, look how cool it is! Or, over there! Those people! How strange! It was a shame about their old world, but they didn't seem to be particularly preoccupied with it. Their friends would show up sometime, they just knew it.

Eventually, the three of them came to a halt before a large corner building. "So... this would be the Inn? Splendid!" He threw his arms to his sides, and Sans didn't have to duck to avoid getting hit. "It would be hard to miss." Indeed, the building was large, filled with what they could only assume to be room upon room upon room. They've never stayed at an Inn before, even though there was one in Snowdin, and the idea was vaguely exciting.

Sans had his reservations about staying here, but none about having a place to rest. The two waited patiently for Olabisi before going in - they had no idea what to expect, or who to talk to. Or what to do, really.

"Yes, that would be the place," Olabisi confirmed. "Assuming you two are going to share a room, I'll admit that the living space might be a bit small. But hey, at least it's free. That's a good thing, isn't it?"

Without further ado, the alien led the skeleton brothers into the building. From there, she approached the front desk.

"Getting a room here is easy. All you need to do is ask, and you'll be given a paper to sign. Once it's signed, you'll be given your room key." Ola turned to face whoever happened to be on duty right now. "Hey there, these two are new here. Would it be possible to get them hooked up with a room?"

It was a nice, cozy Saturday at the Stock Pot Inn, and whilst the Hylian kids had set about giving the inn a quick check over before getting set for lunch, Impa had taken the chance to head downstairs to the main office. This was an opportunity to both make sure that nothing new had come up for Link and Link, and to of course have a chance to stop by the front desk in case if anyone needed anything. It was never an issue to have anyone called of course, but even when no one was set to work at the front desk for a given time, the staff of the inn did like to swing by it from time to time.

Impa had just finished moving some files in the front office when she caught the sound of not only the bell at the front door, but also a familiar voice of a former tenant. Giving the office a quick glance over to make sure everything was in order, she closed the door and moved to the front desk, smiling ever so slightly at the sight of the Thep Khufan leading two new faces this way. The Sheikah could not help but note the strange resemblance that these two held to Stalfos, although they appeared to have far more on their minds than simply being wandering monsters or attacking any of the living that ventured too close. Their features also displayed a stark contrast not shown in the variants of Stalfos that she was used to, but most importantly, it seemed that they were new arrivals that were looking for a safe place to stay. That much was true if Olabisi’s quick, helpful explanation was any indication… they did still have plenty of rooms available at the present, and between the spacious accommodations and nice amenities, the Sheikah hoped that these two prospective new tenants would enjoy their time here.

“Hello Olabisi,” greeted Impa, nodding to the previous tenant before glancing to the two skeletons at her indication of them. With her smile broadening just a touch as she pulled out a pair of forms, she added, “Of course it would. Welcome to the Stock Pot Inn. I am Impa, the Head of Security here.” Doing a quick mental tally of the current rooms that they had open, she paused for a couple of moments before noting, “We do have plenty of rooms open across all four floors. Would you prefer to have your own rooms or share one?”

(( OMG I'M SO SORRY I DIDN'T SEE ANY POSTS HERE Dx ))

"Nah, we'll get separate rooms." Sans replied, looking to the side at Olabisi. One would probably assume they were inseparable but that was not exactly the case - they did need their personal space, albeit they would be close to one another. "I got private stuff to do, ya know? But I wouldn't complain either way if it really is free." Free room and board? Wow, this place has everything, doesn't it? "Indeed! But lets not waste any more time; into the Inn!" He marched forward, followed by Sans as he followed Olabisi.

It was quite lavish inside, and the two took a moment to take the building in when they entered. The smell of food from the kitchen wafted in, and they curiously peeked up the stairs, trying to get a glimpse of anything they could while they got acclimated. They wandered back over to the front desk after Olabisi explained the rules of the hotel to them. "Seems pretty straightforward." Sans shrugged. Was it really that easy? Rather, was it really free?

The woman behind the counter seemed pretty nice. Actually, she seemed somewhat familiar... but Sans could swear that they've never met before. Weird, huh? Papyrus slammed his hand on the counter.

"Impa! Consider yourself incredibly, undoubtedly lucky, for I, the Great Papyrus (and my less-cool brother) have decided to take up residence here!" His energy was thick enough to feel, and it certainly brought the room to life. Sans chuckled. "We'll take two rooms, next to one another preferably." He leaned on the counter beside his taller brother, who maintained his goofy smile the whole time. "Say, any of you like jokes?"

"SANS! This is NOT the time for such tomfoolery!"

"C'mon bro, everyone likes jokes. I'm sure they do, too."

As the taller of the two skeletons jumped right into introducing himself, the Sheikah could not help but smile just a touch more. One of the many things that she liked about the Stock Pot Inn was being able to meet and help a wide variety of citizens. Regardless of the natures of any of them, each one meant well, and each was certainly and interesting character for any number of reasons. This mighty and unintentionally humorous greeting did make her feel even happier about being able to help these two out, and she soon stated, “Lucky it is then. It is nice to have you and your brother here, Papyrus.”

With a nod to the shorter skeleton brother, Impa added, “Of course.” At that, she pulled out two new room forms and moved to date them, quickly going over a mental list of available rooms which were right next to each other. They did have a decent number that fit that request right now, and as she noted down the corresponding room numbers on each form, she soon heard the same new arrival ask if they liked jokes. It was Papyrus’ sudden reaction that gave her the name of the shorter skeleton, and although he made it quite apparent the he was not set for anything of the sort – which was rather interesting, considering his own exuberant personality – at least Sans was completely unphased.

Fishing out two corresponding card keys from their drawer, Impa smiled to Sans, noting, “Jokes by their very nature can be amusing, especially given certain types of humor.” The Sheikah herself appreciated a variety of jokes, but clever ones were always her favorites. Holding onto the two pieces of paper for the moment, Impa said, “There is no rush here, and I already have your forms set. I’d love to hear one, Sans.”
