    Hope The Inn's Shred-Proof!

Ariana flinched when Marissa began to laugh, as she hadn't been expecting it! She glanced back at the purple monster, and after she realized that Marissa had not been offended, she joined the monster's laughing with a few chuckles of her own. The sight of the monster's bushy tail wagging was also quite amusing! If she had her own tail in this human form, it'd be wagging as well. "Well uh...I'm not sure, actually!" The woman gave the other an awkward grin. Indeed, what kind of name was she expecting for a furry purple person such as Marissa? "M-maybe...Yargle...Rawrgh...?" She finally answered, the 'name' more like her best impression of a growling monster rather than a name. When you thought about it like that, perhaps it was silly to expect a different name...

She listened as Marissa explained, monster had normal first names and punny last names. Clawthorne...Ariana glanced down at all six of Marissa's paws, smirking slightly. "That's a fitting last name." As for what Marissa was, it seems she was a literal monster. One of many, by the sounds of it! Before the young woman could ask if they all resembled herself, the monster had already explained that the 'monsters' were diverse. The term 'monster' was more of an umbrella term that applied to all of them at once. "Huh, I see..." She nodded, before she began to walk once again. Marissa right behind her, the two of them easily followed the sidewalk on the right path to the Inn, with the tall skyscraper as something of a homing beacon. They rounded the corner, continued walking for another block before turning once more, and before them stood the large building on the corner of the block. "There it is!" She jogged ahead slightly, running to the door and opening it wide for Marissa to enter first, walking in behind her.

They entered the lobby, and Ariana glanced around the room before she turned to the reception area to the left, gesturing for Marissa to follow as she addressed the person at the desk. "Hi, I have a new person here named Marissa, she's interested in getting a room?" Ariana stepped aside and glanced to the monster with a small smile.

"Oh, you don't have to do that, but thanks anyways," Marissa said as her new human friend opened the door for her.

The first thing she noticed upon entering the inn was the smell. There was no denying the telltale smell of breakfast. Her stomach growled longingly at the enticing aroma. Had she forgotten to eat breakfast this morning? If that was the case, she would definitely have to grab herself some of that grub once she got her room.

"Hey there," the monster greeted the person at the desk, waving from behind Ariana. "If you don't mind me saying, I'd prefer a room on the bottom floor if it still has space available. I don't like going up stairs very much."

Even though it was a Saturday, Link and Link were both inside the Innkeeper's office behind the main desk of the inn, the two lads dutifully working through the morning's paperwork. There was thankfully not too much to take care of this morning regardless of the fact that it was the start of the general weekend, but they did want to tackle it so that they could have the better part of the day free to head out to the beach. Summer was nearly over, but they knew that a certain island well off the coast could still be quite warm, both for training as well as swimming, and that was just where they were set to warp to. And with both Link and Link working their way everything, they could get through it even faster!

"Hey, Tetra and Sheik have got both of your things ready, so once you're done here, we should be able to head out," noted Tatl, chiming as she fluttered into the office. The disguised princess and Impa had already taken care of the security checks for the morning, and that right there had them set to finalize everything else before setting off for their day out. Granted, they didn't need to have too much brought with them given the place they were warping to, but it was still good to be prepared.

"All right; thanks Tatl," called Link, before looking over his shoulder and smiling to his fairy companion. With a quick glance to the papers he had stacked in his hands, he turned to Link, adding, "I'm just going to put these up at the front desk, Link. I should be just about finished after that."

With a nod to his nametwin, Link hopped off of his chair and walked out to the front desk, leaning over to file away the documents in hand just as he heard the front door open. He wasn't sure if it was someone returning from a morning outing or whatnot, until he heard two people heading towards the desk. Huh… that was an interesting footfall…

Perking up and smiling with he saw Ariana headed towards the front desk, Link of course saw the new arrival that was following her in. Wow… she was purple and furry, and not entirely unlike a unique centaur! Although Link was certainly curious about this unfamiliar face, he was also happy to see the familiar one. As the tenant he already knew greeted him and let him know that this new person was in fact looking for a room, Link nodded attentively. A new room was certainly something he could help with!

"Hey Ariana! It's great to see you! And it's nice to meet you, Marissa," greeted Link, nodding to both of them. Focusing on the monster herself as she waved and voiced a very reasonable request for a room on the ground floor, Link smiled a little more before stating, "I don't mind at all! We do have four floors here, and where we can, we like to try to help meet tenant preferences. Just a moment…"

At that, Link went through his mental list of available rooms on the first floor as he fished out the new room form. Dating it and noting down the room he had in mind, he placed the paper and a pen on the desk, facing Marissa. "All right, if you can just print and sign your name, I'll get you your card key! That's all there is to it!"

"Nice to meet you too," Marissa responded. The person at the desk, like Ariana, appeared to be human. The only thing different about this one was his ears. They were long and pointy! Didn't humans have a name for that?.. Oh, elf! This person had to be an elf, and an elf that was willing to accommodate her preferences, no less. "That's great. Thank you!"

She was then passed a sheet of paper and a pen. The monster looked over its contents. It had a room number, today's date, and a place for her to sign. Room number 145... Marissa, having lived in an apartment complex herself, supposed that rooms with numbers beginning with 1 were on the first floor, and so on and so forth. Perfect, just like she wanted! She gleefully signed before passing back the paper and pen.

"That's really all there is to it?" she asked.

"It's no problem, you're welcome!" Ariana flashed Marissa a small smile as she walked in behind her, giving her a nod. It was polite to open the door, and besides...with Marissa's body being as...long, as it was, Ariana imagined that trying to enter a door that was on a hinge like this one may be hard without someone to hold it open. The grumble of Marissa's stomach drew a small chuckle from the young woman. Good thing breakfast was still being served. At the desk was one of the Links, and Ariana gave him a small wave with a smile. "It's great to see you too." Always was, even though she saw them around the Inn every so often!

The black haired young woman stood off to the side as the two conducted business. Marissa requested a room on the first floor, and thankfully there was room! Most people seemed to be on the top two floors, with the second floor as the emptiest. The paper was given to Marissa, and she signed it easily before handing the paper back to Link. "Mhm." Yes, it could be rather surprising that all you had to do was sign your name! Most apartments also needed to signature, but it was a signature on a long lease. Sometimes there was also a required background check, and of course a deposit... Yes, the Inn was much simpler.

Tatl glanced out the office door to see just who Link was talking to, and once she saw that it was Ariana as well as a new tenant, she fluttered back inside to check over her partner’s work, just to make sure he was extra set for the day as he helped out the new arrival.  She was set to assist the Hero of Time if needed, but the boy was very experienced with helping tenants get situated in their rooms by now.

Link smiled at Marissa and Ariana’s responses to his greeting, just before he nodded a bit more at the monster’s thanks. In short order, she was happily filling out the two simple lines she needed to, and at the same time, he had opened the drawer with the card keys in order to get the one corresponding to the room he had assigned her. Fishing out the proper card key, Link’s smile grew as he glanced up to Marissa, just in time for her to slide the form and pen back to him. Nodding his thanks to her and taking the form so he could glance over it, he couldn’t help but chuckle a little as the monster asked a question he had heard many times before.

Echoing Ariana’s positive hum with one of his own, Link stated, “Yep! I know it might seem really simple, but we try to help keep the process like that so that anyone can go ahead and comfortably get a safe place to stay. Everyone comes from so many different worlds, it’s best to keep it streamlined.” Pausing as he reached forward to hand the card key to Marissa, he added, “And here’s your card key! This will get you in your room, into the front of the inn if you return to it after we’ve locked up the night, and showing it in the dining hall will help you get the free food there!”
