As the moments pass by, what Ariana could feel of the immortal's presence dissipate. As if she wasn't there in the first place. It would even be hard to hold on to the memory of Nessa at all. Nothing rustles nor does it move naturally. It's like the wind had stopped. The buck raises it's nervous eyes toward the spot Nessa was, but finds nothing. It's nostrils flare, trying to take on the scent of what wasn't there. Snorting, the youngling swivels its head side to side. Trying it's darnedest to feel threatening as it scrapes its sharpened antlers on the same tree it was marking. The young ones... always so eager to prove themselves or protect their territory. It must be quite young to not know when to run... Nessa pads small and silent steps, walking with all the confidence in the world across the treeline toward the buck. Tendrils of power recoiling back into her, naught but the beast taking control now. No magick. Only gnashing of fang. Hunkered down, the blonde wolf leaps out of the brush, her gaping mouth aiming to hamstring the buck before it could even think of running.

    NeCk...

The ancient whispers tease at the ears of the brown werewolf. The buck rears back, its head looking the opposite direction as the wolf rips at it's left flank. Indeed... the neck is wide open to Ariana... if she wishes to take her chance.

The blonde wolf's red eyes flare as blood touches her tongue, the predator activated. Nessa's mind swims with the singular emotion. Exhilaration. Oh it has indeed been far too long since her teeth sunk into the meat she so craved. It's actually only in her animal forms she allows herself to enjoy the tastes of flesh. The body of an animal dulls her tastes down via the instinct to catch and devour prey. Nessa, the wolf, digs her upper claws into the flank of the buck, he is still reared high, and rips outwards with a jerk of her head, the strong tendon allowing the deer to extend it's leg ripping in a flash of fur.

    NoOooW.

This would be the best chance to make this a quick and clean kill, Ariana. You know what to do, let the beast take hold. Let the hunt take over.

Nessa's presence began to fade, such an ancient and heavy air rising from her shoulders like a dense fog. Actually...a fog seemed to cloud her mind. Ariana shook her head lightly, careful not to stir any leaves in the bushes. What was it she was doing...? Her bright gaze centered upon the stag, and her mouth parted to allowed her tongue to loll out. Right, hunting. She was hunting! Idly catching something along the treeline, she found herself remembering that she was hunting with a partner. Another...another wolf. That's right, a blonde. Memory still fuzzy, the werewolf chalked it up to distraction and hunger, none the wiser at the moment. She lay in wait in her spot, yellow eyes attentive as the smaller wolf jumped out of the bushes. Fangs tore through the flank, piercing tawny fur and exposing bright muscle and blood. Ariana's nostrils flared, breathing in the coppery scent of spilled blood.

    NeCk...

Whispers made her pause, hackles rising as words of something she did not recognize tickled her ears. They flicked, the werewolf distracted. Neck... As the voice faded, sound was replaced by the thump-thump-thump of the stag's frightened heart. It reared back on pain, the neck exposed for her as though it were fate. The artery in the neck was pounding with every pump, like music to her ears. Ariana licked her chops, advancing slowly and carefully. The other wolf was still hard at work on the flank, claws digging and teeth tearing through tendon. The stag was frantic, neck still bared so openly. The whispers returned, urging her. NoOooW. The mysterious words were obeyed this time. A snap of her jaws was the only announcement given before a brown blur charged out of the bushes.

Paws stamped through the dirt and the twigs before kicking up, sending Ariana teeth first towards the stag's open neck. With a snarl, her fangs closed around the thick and sturdy throat. Blood filled her mouth, and her claws dug into the shoulders of the stag to keep herself in place and keep the stag's front legs at bay. Her back paws dug into the dirt, pulling herself backwards as her fangs closed even more around the neck, slicing through tendons and delicate veins and arteries there. The life was being drained from it even as her fangs gnashed, and with a toss of her head, Ariana pulled to rip flesh from the neck. Her front paws pushed off of the stag, leaving the gaping wound to bleed and drain. Gnashing upon the piece she had torn from it, Ariana swallowed the flesh down her throat and rumbled in pleasure, eyes glinting as she looked upon the stag once again. Greedy, hungry...the predator had not been satisfied by just one bite.

    GoooOOoOoOOd

Nessa loses hold of her humanity, her dark aura lifting as she revealed herself to the brown wolf. Any  memories that were left in fog rush back, as in a sudden epiphany. The blonde wolf's fur tinges with auburn, and then red. The blood in her teeth is licked clean as Nessa drops to watch the other wolf rip and tear at the throat of the young buck. She circles to the side, her red eyes glowing with harsh light, her fur outlined in the blood red aura. It's hard... to hold onto any thought. Tear, rip, gnash, bite, claw, snarl... A growl reverberates in her throat, the leaves around the area trembling away from the blonde animal. As Ariana rips away, the buck falls, in shock as the main artery is severed, but it continues to thrash on the ground, a whirling storm of horn and hoof.

Nessa's claws clench onto the ground as she slowly stalks forward, tendrils of red leaking off of her like a dense liquid. Then suddenly the wolf leaps forward, finding an opening in the limbs as the buck shows its back to her. Her maw clamps down like the decisive blow of a hammer, under the jaw of the buck. Her shifting guise wanes, but only to bulge out longer teeth and muscles under the furry skin. The added strength flows through her jaw, and she clamps down even harder. A loud CRACK comes from the upper neck as the blonde wolf twists its head. The buck, after a stiffened twitch, goes limp, head lolling in Nessa's mouth. Her body stabilizes, becoming slender once again, and teeth becoming natural.

Viscera dripping from her fangs, Nessa stands back, a chunk of neck muscle sliding down her throat. She licks her nose and growls in satisfaction.

You are SUCH a good partner. Her tail wags, so forcefully that her hind quarters threaten to wiggle like an excited puppy with a tail too long for her body.

Nessa's tongue looses from her mouth, panting. Her body is going to change soon. The ancient presence fades almost completely, and her aura becomes barely visibleOh... Oh dear. Avert your gaze, if you wish. The blonde wolf turns around, her body shifting, like liquid over a solid surface, until her paled skin absorbs the fur and her four legged body becomes humani once more, sitting crosslegged. Her back turned toward the very modest Ariana, she opens up her hand, what's left of her aura reaches out to the spot she started from, her purple paisley sundress appears in her hand. She slips the loose fabric clothing over her dreadlocked head, then pulls a thin red scarf over her mountain of hair to pull them away from her eyes. She turns back to the stag, her tattooed right arm reaching out toward the back haunching.

"Thank you. May the spirits guide you, child." She speaks to the carcass of the deer. Her respect for nature showing once more.

Invisible blades of aura cut at a chunk of the meat. Blood already around her lips, Nessa brings her teeth down onto the raw muscle. Smiling in delight, her still sharp teeth tear at the meat. Oh it's been far too long. Venison is also one of her favorites.

"Mmmm... Do imbibe, dear." She winks, once again playful and a bit flirtatious.

    Re: Primal Instinct

Post by Ariana Lee on Thu Jun 02, 2016 12:58 am

The disembodied voice spoke again, approving of Ariana's attack. At the same time, it was as if the werewolf's memories were dangling on a yo-yo string. Where once she had difficulty remembering who the other wolf was, it suddenly came to her in an epiphany. That's right, the other wolf called herself a metamorphe, one by the name of Nessa! The thought only lingered in Ariana's mind for a moment, as the name of her hunting partner wasn't important right now. Not as important as the hunt itself. She almost ignore the other entirely until she heard a growl, bright eyes flicking to the side to size Nessa up. Thick red lingered around the edges of the smaller wolf's fur, as if she was drenched in blood. Her aura on the wind had changed, crimson red eyes glinting. It made Ariana's hackles raise, and as she ripped a piece of the deer's flesh away she moved almost in a slinking motion to give Nessa room. Though Ariana was bigger, the other wolf carried a deep presence with her that urged the dark wolf to move aside and make herself scarce. A smart choice, from the looks of those thick tendrils wafting from the other wolf.

Licking the blood clean from her chops, their prey struggled and thrashed on the forest floor. Hooves struck out in an attempt to fight them off, the stag rumbling and grunting with effort. Good fight in him, oh yes... And yet he was still dying. His fate was sealed. The slender wolf approached, first slowly then in a charge, fangs bared. Clamping them down on the upper neck, Ariana lowered herself to the ground in a tense posture, eyes focused entirely on the scene before her. Whether she was watching for an opening or for any sign of uncontrollable bloodlust from the other, even she was not sure. Her gaze was transfixed, hypnotized as the other wolf's body seemed to waver and contort even as she dealt the killing blow. Fangs becoming jagged and long, too much muscle for a slight little wolf. Instinct told her that it was unnatural, but the werewolf had to admit to seeing a usefulness to such an ability. Head twisting to the side, the one cracked loudly and finally the stag went still in the blonde wolf's mouth. Immediately, her body seemed to settle into its form of before, more natural and gentle.

Backing away from her kill, Nessa addressed Ariana, deeming her a very good hunting partner. Bushy tail wagging lightly behind her, Ariana's muzzle pulled back into a wolfish grin. You're a good partner too! It's been too long... Strong body relaxing, the werewolf looked very much like a happy puppy herself. It was enjoyable to not only have a plentiful hunt, but also to be complimented. Almost her entire life as a werewolf had been pack-less. Was this what it was like to have an Alpha?

However, the attack might have taken a good amount of energy from her hunting partner. Heeding the warning, Ariana turned her face away, even curling her tail to brush the long fur over top of her eyes. Dense black fur provided a good blindfold as the woman shifted, her thick presence fading with her. Pointed ears flicked lightly as she heard movement, even the sound of something shifting, like cloth? Did the woman carry clothes with her or was she merely able to shapeshift clothes on herself. Rumbling lowly in her throat, Ariana reflected on how useful such an ability must be... Only once Nessa addressed the fallen stag did she lift her tail, sneaking a peek and finding the other woman fully clothed. Well...fully here meaning in a dress and headscarf. Moving slowly, Ariana advanced forward with light paw steps, tail sweeping the ground behind her in a soft wag. Already cutting herself a chunk of meat, and mouth still stained from the killing blow, Nessa began to feast upon their prey. The sight of it drew an almost flabbergasted look from the dark wolf. The urge to consume raw meat had wriggled in Ariana's mind before, though her upbringing as a human lead to the woman refusing to eat uncooked meat when she was in her human skin. Even if salmonella may not kill her, there were certain habits one got stuck in.

    "Mmmm... Do imbibe, dear."

Oh! Right, right. Taking part in consuming her half of the kill was a good idea. Before anything else here caught on to a possible free meal... The sight of Nessa and her raw consumption of the meat had momentarily distracted her. With a soft nod of her head, the wolf trotted around to get a better angle of the stag to inspect the meat. Bright eyes scanned the area where Nessa had sliced her meat from, deeming that area the other woman's. Ariana had no invisible auras to slice her meat, she'd have to use her fangs and Nessa might not want slobber all over her share! Pressing a moist nose to the fur, she snorted lightly as she snuffed about, prodding with that nose lightly before focusing her attention on the front shank of the deer.

Plump, oh yes...a pale tongue lapped quietly, teeth bared as she stared down at the tawny fur and skin. Beneath was thick muscle, firm and juicy... A trail of drool began to dribble before Ariana finally brought her teeth down to rip and tear at the shank of the stag's front leg. Bits of fur collected around her muzzle as her teeth gnawed, ripping to tear the flesh and fur and expose the red beneath. Swallowing what she had wrenched from the carcass greedily, her eyes spotted the muscular layer beneath and her muzzle came down once again. Paws shifted to hold the leg in place as she pushed her mouth in deeper, easily tearing through muscle tissue. Gulping down meat and blood alike, her tail continued to bat at the air behind her, all body language pointing to a very content wolf.

The Piper leans back, folding her legs under her bottom. Her smooth skin scrapes against twigs and small pebbles, but she does not care. The feeling of the earth touching her with her awakened sense dulled is almost pleasurable. Sighing in relief, she wipes the blood from her chin and watches over Ariana in a sort of animal instinct to protect a companion. Even when the companion was such a new acquaintance? Wow, she's come a long way indeed. She used to kill on sight even centuries after her fiasco with Nergal. Trust wasn't even a possibility until now. Her friends on Earth were in passing. But now? Now there is reason and wiggle room to simply... socialize.

"This is so... nice. To be myself." Nessa blinks, realizing her thought was said aloud. What was that, Piper? Your tongue is looser nowadays. Her face reflects her embarrassment, her head turning to the side and her face brightening up pink around her cheeks. Well then. Let's try to recover with some silence. No? Okay.

The Immortal smiles to herself and also to Ariana. Such a wonderful person, whether or not the werewolf is wary of her, she enjoyed the time she had. It would be nice to have a friend in this lycanthrope lady. Livewire probably knows her, the yellow child seems to know just about everyone. See what happens when you leave the city? You meet new people and get to have fun. Stop being such a shut in! Once again she almost says aloud her thoughts, but this time she visibly bites at the top of her lip. Quickly turning her hand toward the deer, she activates her aura, long slivers of red appear at the tips of her fingers, the smell of blood lingers on the air.

With a quick motion, slicing downwards with her hand, she cuts the deer in half cleanly, and the lower half of the animal disappears, all while being very careful to not disturb Ariana.

"Sorry dear, my appetite is a very fickle thing. However my children are always hungry. They thank you ahead of time for your part in the hunt." She knows she's being vague, but admitting to even a werewolf that you have little hidden animals all around you at all times is a bit... odd to share. And probably a bit unsettling for the other party.

After any eating is finished and time is given for the two to clean up, Nessa cocks her head to the side and smiles, her dreadlocks falling across her face.

"Do you mind taking a picture with me?"

Ariana's mind had zeroed in entirely on the flesh before her, all thoughts focused on eating her share. Teeth continued to rip off the muscle into juicy strips, the wolf eating as though she had been starving in the woods before Nessa found her. Eventually her teeth found the firm humerus beneath. Traveling up to the shoulder, fangs continued to rip through the fur and tear into muscle, consuming the deer at her leisure now. Nessa was letting her eat as she liked, rather than shoving her aside for seconds like one may find in a pack. The hunk of meat now seemed less likely to disappear from under her paws should she pause to breath. Another thick strip of meat was pulled from the kill, a bit of it dangling between her teeth as Ariana swiveled her head up to glance at Nessa.

Curious words, but the young woman found herself in agreement. She swallowed before she 'spoke up'. I know what you mean. It has been too long since I've actually hunted with another wolf. It feels so...fulfilling. As if it was a part of her life that had never come to pass. A strange feeling to have, when so much of her human life had been uprooted by her lycanthropy. Prom, graduating high school, attending college, seeing her little brother graduate. This moment right here, enjoying a hunt with somebody else who could turn into an animal, this was what felt so right? The wolf chuckled lightly to herself, about to continue eating only to pause at the scent of even more blood in the air. She turned to Nessa, a bit puzzled to see red threads growing from the tips of her fingers. With a quick motion, the body of the deer was sliced in half. The lower half seemed to disappear into nothing, and Ariana's head cocked to the side.

Ah...so the rest of Nessa's share would be saved for her children. Oh, children? How many do you have? She decided to chalk the disappearance of the meat as being like teleportation. A little bit of speedy delivery for the kids! At the thanks, the werewolf dipped her muzzle downwards, the front half of her body bowing down as well. Thank you for joining me in the hunt. The other woman had even been kind enough to leave her a good chunk of deer! Meat that Ariana soon turned her attention back to. Much like Nessa's children, the ebony werewolf also had a vast hunger. Eager not to let any of the deer go to waste, her teeth gnawed and nibbled until her half of the body was rendered a skeleton. Laying on her belly, she rubbed herself along the grass and leaves to wipe away any blood, eventually stretching out along the ground in a leisurely fashion. Her tongue lolled lazily.

"Do you mind taking a picture with me?"

Hm? Ariana lifted her head, yellow eyes blinking at the other woman. A picture, was it? A strange sort of request, though perhaps it was for memories. The wolf pulled herself to her feet, giving herself a shake to dislodge and leaves before stepping towards the woman with a bounce in her step. I wouldn't mind. As long as I can stay like this for the picture. Her long, bushy tail wagged behind her, the fur like a powerful fan.

Nessa seems completely unfazed by any of the grosser behaviors of the wolf. Being a mother of so very many children (considering also, that they are ravenous vermin), such things hardly affect her, or if anything make her feel more comfortable. The Immortal is relaxed, and conveys it by simply letting her face express her emotion. It almost hurts, smiling this much.

The 'words' of the wolf seem to usher away any embarrassment on the Piper's face. She nods, leaning forward and wiggling in place. Whatever is left of the wolfskin is still affecting her a bit. "I'm so glad you think so to! I've had very few people to relate to around here. Sometimes forget how nice it is to socialize in general!" Minus the hunt, might as well have been a regular outing! Well, regular for Nessa that is. She leans to the side, dusting off the skirt of her dress and bringing her legs together and to the side. She starts the spell to bring the enchanted Polaroid camera to her. A small patch of red appears on the ground next to her and the camera sinks upwards as she pulls it out of the Mist. Dusting off the top, she makes sure the slot is loaded and holds it in her lap. Even if the werewolf didn't want a picture, she was going to at least take one of herself and the area. Got to keep memories intact.

Ariana wrote:Oh, children? How many do you have?

Yeah. So Nessa might let some things slip around a cutie-patootie werewolf lady. Oh well. If it wasn't awkward before...

"One hundred and thirty of my own. An extra twenty or so of my adopted, and an extended family of children far beyond the thousands. Yes I know this a giant number. I sometimes forget I call them my children. They are rats. And quite the personable bunch." The lot of them could be called upon in moments, but as she is currently in civil conversation for the first time in a long while, she'll hold off unless there's an actual inquiry.

Ariana wrote: I wouldn't mind. As long as I can stay like this for the picture.

Perking up and clapping her hands once, she laughs in excitement. Something close to the cooing of doves. She turns around and quickly sidles up to Ariana, bringing her arm around the large dark wolf in a firm affectionate side-hug. The Piper buries her cheek in the fur quickly and barely gives Ariana a moments notice before...

    "Say yummy deer steaks!"

    FLASH. Whrrrrr.

And out comes the picture in the front. Shaking it a few times, the enchanted picture develops immediately and she turns the photo toward Ariana, a sort of childish happiness in her eyes, and still sitting sidled up to the powerful werewolf frame.

"Thank you so much! What do you think?" Nessa smiles, holding the picture steady out at arms length.

I know what you mean. There don't seem to be many shapeshifters or werewolves around anymore. At least, none that seem eager to go hunting... Ariana agreed as a thick tongue continued to lap her own chops. Granted, her time on the Breach had seen her meeting only a handful of other wolves, either metamorph or lycan in nature. Maybe they were just that good at hiding their true identities? Giving her ebony body another firm shake to dislodge debris, she gave the older woman a happy grin. The kind you only ever see on a canine's muzzle. I keep to myself a lot as well. It has been...nice, branching out and meeting up with someone new. A bit frightening, yet exhilarating all the same! Toes flexing into the dirt, the wolf watched with a cocked head as Nessa summoned up her little camera. Seemingly through a red portal, of all things! A moist black nose twitched, sniffing in the direction of the camera. What interesting powers this woman had...

"One hundred and thirty of my own. An extra twenty or so of my adopted, and an extended family of children far beyond the thousands."

Both ears pulled back, pinning themselves down against her head as Ariana's bright eyes seemed to widen. Her jaw even dropped, exposing every white, glistening fang! A hundred and thirty children?! What a horrifying prospect! How could this woman bear to walk around after so many pregnancies?! No wonder she had to eat deer meat! Thankfully, Nessa quickly explained how she could have so many children. Rats! They were all rats, pets that she thought of as her children. The female wolf let out a relieved sigh, no longer shocked by the prospect. Oh I see! I've never had pets...or, er, children. Are they as rambunctious as real children? Behind her, a thick tail wagged leisurely. Rodents had always seemed quiet interesting, as far as animals went. Tasty too, when there wasn't much food around, though she made a quick note to herself to keep an eye out for any future rat-petizers. Didn't want to upset this powerful woman, after all.

Regarding the picture, Ariana's answer had definitely gotten Nessa's approval! From the clasped hands to the airy laughter, the werewolf barely had a moment to smile before she found her personal space invaded as the woman got close for the picture. Her body tensed for a moment beneath the other's arm, only relaxing a fraction when she felt Nessa's face draw close to her fur. Ariana had time to crack a smile before the camera flash came. The midnight black wolf blinked her eyes furiously, shaking her muzzle to dispel the dots that floated in her vision with every blink. Sneezing softly, she turned to regard the other woman curiously as she shook the picture in her hand. Oh! It reminded her of some old fashioned cameras that needed to be waved like that to develop. Attention grabbed by the photo, she leaned in lightly to inspect it. She had become a lot more relaxed, waving tail increasing in frequency. Ha! Is that what I really look like in this form?! Oh, I've never actually seen it in a picture before! That's incredible! Reflections didn't do it justice.

The smile turned sheepish as Ariana realized her error; focusing solely on how she looked in the picture was kind of rude. I-I really like it... We both look like we're having a nice time in it! Thank you for taking that with me! She pressed closer to the picture, nose twitching as she gave it a deep huff of a sniff. Turning back to the woman, both of her ears were pricked up in a perky fashion. Would you...be able to give me a copy somehow? Whether by magic or technology, there had to be a way.

Nessa laughs outright at Ariana's jaw-dropped face. She hasn't had that joke come full circle literally ever. She rolls to the side a bit, her hair dropping over her face as she brings her breath back after the sudden onslaught of laughter.

"Well, heh..hehe.. I'd say about every four equals one human toddler. But they'd disagree. Though there are few of them more than a handful. Suzanne in particular." She bumps her hand on the ground, realizing that the camera is still in her hands. Oops! Don't want this to get dirtied! After Ariana and her took the picture and the Piper held it closer for them both to see, her head right next to the large wolf's. One could tell she is far more comfortable in this situation than most ought.

At the comment about Ariana's form in picture, Nessa cocks her head. "I guess I can relate, I've never really seen myself in many other forms! Now I'm going to stand in front of a mirror and shapeshift like mad! In all my years. Hah!" A thoughtful look at herself in the picture has her thinking about the Wall of her Favorites. This is definitely securing a spot. She looks over at Ariana, and after her ginger request of a copy, Nessa nods. Bringing the camera up to her face, she wraps it in her aura. The fresh scent of blood once again plays at the nostrils of Ariana for a moment before the camera spits out another Polaroid square. The immortal shakes the photo and lets it develop before showing Ariana. Yep! A perfect copy. Magick is so nifty.

"You're welcome! Will I see you around town? Maybe in another form I mean? Sorry, it's just a thought. I'd hate to not recognize you!" She bumps her shoulder lightly on the front haunch of Ariana's wolf form. She smiles brightly, the very small woman chumming with a big 'ole wolf. She wraps her hands around her knees as she brings them to her chin.

Laughter made the wolf's ears flicker backwards, nose pointed towards the forest floor sheepishly. Logically speaking, she doubted that anybody could spit out hundreds of children...unless they were like, part insect. So with context clues, it should have been obvious. Despite her meek response, Ariana was still in a rather good mood as her tail was still raised high. So, four rats were equal to one human toddler? The ebony wolf snorted. I remember my little brother's toddler years. I do not envy you...though I imagine it must be stressful as a presumably single mother? Not to make any assumptions, of course! But from the way Nessa spoke, there didn't seem to be a spouse or other parental figure. Head quirking to the side, Ariana asked What is Suzanne like?

Just as Nessa's close proximity to a large and possibly dangerous wolf was striking, so too did Ariana find her own wolfish smile in the picture interesting. Mostly how...happy she seemed to be! She stamped her paws in the leaves softly, toes wriggling. And just like herself, Nessa had never really thought to observe herself in other forms! If you find that the mirror distorts your image too much, maybe you could take some nice snapshots with your camera. Speaking of, Nessa's current camera was swallowed up in that odd bloody aura. The moist black nose twitched about, sniffing the metallic air softly as she observed. Sure enough, another polaroid was spit out and shaken to develop! The werewolf's head craned to check her copy out, before sealing her approval with a nod and a grin. Perfect!

Oh! Yes, I'm sure we'll see each other around. I usually stick to the city unless I'm hunting here. Ariana answered, though not without a little bit of anxiety in her 'voice'. Her condition was no longer a big secret, but it was something held close to her own chest. Tail resting along the ground and rustling a few leaves, the werewolf let out a thoughtful rumble. My other form is...not very recognizable I suppose. At least not compared to this form. But I should be able to recognize you right away! She reached out, lightly pawing at Nessa's foot playfully. I can introduce myself in my other form then.

Softly patting the shoulder of the large wolf, she smiles reassuringly. The child thing was only in jest! Promise! Her mind also drifts to possibly being an insect or a rabbit or something along those lines. Bringing her hands to her lap, she relaxes in place, allowing the conversation to move onward. Her little brother? Well, let's not wonder if she has a lost one. Let that dog lie. However.

"Single indeed. And always ready to mingle." Nessa sticks the edge of her tongue out and chuckles lightly. Cocking her head, she ponders how to adequately and quickly describe the miscreant known as Suzanne. "Suzanne is the Mischievous pack-leader. Too small for her big pants. Something along those lines." She nods. That ought to do it. Leaving it in so few words would probably upset the child, such an ego on that one.

"If I'm going to be taking odd... selfies? Is it? Then I should invest in a picture-phone." SHOW YOUR AGE GURL.

She taps on her chin. Sensing the anxiousness of Ariana, she simple leans back and smiles. Pulling out a small thread behind her head, of course some more aura smell appears as she does so, she quickly fashions her necklace around her collarbone. It jingles as it appears. Around her ankles, sandals appear, and earrings lace themselves around the four holes on each ear. She quickly scoots over to Ariana and hugs the side of her new acquaintance and quickly lets go as she turns toward the open woods.

"I think I'll know when I see you. But for now, I must be off, love." She winks at the she-wolf and turns on the spot. I single skip and her aura wisps her away. This time, not away from Ariana's memories. Beside the werewolf's paw sits the picture of the two.

    So fleeting, the Piper.

So many little rats, and only one mom. Even if they were just rodents, it was still a lot for one person to keep track of! The comment earned a soft barking laugh. She didn't expect to hear such a thing from someone who seemed older! Single and ready to mingle, pfft. The pack leader, hm? I see. Imagining a mischievous little rat plotting behind her mother's back was honestly adorable. Your rats must be very smart. Suzanne in particular. Ariana wondered silently if the rodent children were normal little rats, or something with a supernatural intelligence.

Ariana raised a wolfy brow, just as out of touch with the older terms as Nessa herself. Selfy, picture phone... Do you mean a cellphone? I don't really have one either but I'd keep the camera if I was you. Makes better pictures. At least, in her opinion it was better. She held a strange fondness for getting to feel a crisp photograph in her fingertips. Shaking her fur gently, the werewolf slid down onto her chest completely and thumped her tail lightly along the ground. Toes dug into the dirt and she kept herself busy by watching the other woman's actions. With a full belly, there wasn't much else for her to do after all. Blood filled the air once again as Nessa crafted her own jewelry from thin air and adorned herself, a pair of cute sandals joining the fray too. Alas, it seems the time had come for them to part ways as the Piper scooted over and hugged her side. Ariana raised a forearm and wrapped it around Nessa's back as best she could. Farewell, and thank you for the hunt! She spoke her farewells, waving a paw at the woman's back as she seemed to disappear into the wind.

What an interesting day, definitely didn't go as she had predicted. But...that wasn't a bad thing. With a wagging tail, the ebony wolf lifted herself up from the dirt and gave a great shake to dislodge leaves and dirt. Her nose hovered above the photo, huffing lightly as she regarded it. How to pick this up...? She reached down and took the thick edge of it into her mouth, teeth nipping down gently. Her head raised, waiting to see if this would hold before deeming it the best she could do. Ariana took off in a run for the tree where she'd left her bag, letting her nose dictate her path.
