    ((Continuing from this thread...))

This particular couch in the lobby was unoccupied just a moment before, but thanks to a certain portal deity, it now gave some measure of comfort to one sleeping mage. Grodus slept on, blissfully unaware of the changes that had taken place, even as extensive as they were. Long pale blue hair cascaded from his head, framing an unhidden and clearly human face, a small pair of glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, and he lost a good foot or so in height. He would probably be mistaken for a newcomer on first sight, just seeming to be a stray human boy dragged to this world and catching a bit of rest here. Likely it would take a closer look at his clothing or at the staff that lay close by for anyone to realize who he was without asking.

The technomage curled up a bit tighter on himself in his sleep, a faint whine escaping him. He stretched one arm out, as if reaching for something, then he suddenly jolted upright, awake in an instant. His crimson eyes opened wide from being so badly startled, though he almost immediately shut them again when the light registered. Augh, why did his head hurt so much? The faint growling coming from his lower midsection was a lesser concern, as that was more odd than painful.

Grodus opened his eyes again, slowly this time, and sent his gaze darting about the room. This was... the inn? When did he get here, or how for that matter? As he tried to think, he realized his memories of the past half hour were fuzzy at best, and there was a good stretch of complete blank at least until he woke up just now. How he returned was likely in that blank somewhere, as well as whatever happened in the depths of the city to make him feel so off.

Thankfully this latest turn of events was enough to keep his lingering despair at bay, though it was there that the mage remembered just why he ventured out to begin with. Huh, Fear was right all those weeks ago; it seemed one truly couldn't see to their own demise, even if it would've been at the hands of another.

Something else happened, though, otherwise things wouldn't feel so wrong. Grodus could still sense his own magic, that was one of the only reasons he wasn't totally panicking. He couldn't quite seem to reach it to cast anything, but right now he wasn't sure he could keep a spell under control even if he could cast one. Just so long as he still held his power, it was all right if he couldn't use it for the moment.

Noticing his staff nearby, the technomage grabbed it and then hugged it close, almost like an impromptu security blanket. He looked the very image of a frightened and confused child as he sat there, still not quite aware of just how much he'd changed.

On returning from his lunch break, Link had spotted a somebody napping in the lobby area. Whilst it was rather strange, it wasn’t exactly against the rules. That being said, the person there looked very familiar, but Link cannot put his finger on it. He approached the person cautiously with Neri looking worriedly in the air. They were both certain they had seen this stranger before….. or at the very least his attire. Wait, that staff there looked familiar too.

The innkeeper squinted at the boy, then considered poking him awake. That thought was completely forgotten as suddenly his blue fairy gasped very quietly. “Aren’t those Grodus’ clothes?”

Link blinked. Both fairy and Hylian boy stared at the person napping away in front of them. That… was indeed. And that staff was… So some boy, had came into the inn, stole from Grodus’ laundry and before he could make a hasty retreat, decided to take a nap right here where anybody who knew the mage could find him? That sounded a bit too absurd, even for Link and Neri who were used to absurdity.

No, let’s rethink the scenario. There was a young looking fellow, curled up asleep here, in Grodus’ clothes and have a staff that looked like their dome-headed tenant as well. Rather than think about it as the clothes being stolen, what if this person owned the clothes? What if… Link’s eyes widened, he pointed at the sleeping figure and mouthed two words to Neri who almost squeaked in surprise as she repeated the words in a whisper. “His son? Really? Is that possible?”

There were some flailing and lots of pantomiming on Link’s end and hurried whispering from the fairy. Very soon, the two concluded that Grodus’ son had arrived here as a fresh newcomer to this world. He followed so kind of clue or direction, arrived at the inn, nobody was at the desk, the trip here had tired Grodus’ son out and he took a nap on the cushiest couch available.

There was only one thing they could do.

Link went to fetch a blanket for the poor guy to nap with.

Of course, fate would have it that by the time he got back with a cosy blanket, Grodus’ son was awake and looking terrified.

“No, no, no!” Neri hurriedly tried to assure and Link held up his hands to show he was harmless. “Don’t be afraid. Don’t panic. You did nothing wrong. It’s perfectly fine to sleep here if you want (as long as you’re not in anybody’s way)You’re in the right place. Here, take this blanket. Nap a bit more. I’ll fetch you cookies and Link will look for Grodus for you.”

The Hero of Winds held the blanket out like it was some evidence being presented for examination.

Grodus hadn't heard the footsteps earlier while he was still out cold, but he certainly heard Link approaching now. He tensed a bit more, not knowing who it was. The mage would've summoned enough of his X creatures to form a barrier, but it seemed even that small use of magic was beyond him for the moment.

Another handful of seconds passed and it didn't matter if he couldn't defend himself anyway, as it turned out to only be the young innkeeper and one of his fairies. The blue one, Neri; if Grodus recalled her name correctly. Link was carrying a blanket for some reason, he wasn't really sure why. It was here when something rather odd struck him, had the Hyrulean boy grown a lot taller since the last time he saw him? Wait a minute, wasn't that only this morning?

Link couldn't have grown that much in the space of a few hours, which left the equally impossible idea of the technomage somehow losing enough height in that timespan to put them both at roughly eye level with each other. Something very strange was going on here . . . what in the world did the Shadow Queen hit him with, anyway?

Apparently he looked about as lost and freaked out as he felt, as Neri immediately tried her best to reassure and calm him down. It did seem to work, at least until her last few words, at which point Grodus jolted in surprise.

What?! What did she mean? Why did she want to send Link to 'find him', he was right here! This made so little sense that of course the technomage wanted to tell her how wrong she was.

'Find Grodus? I AM him!' Well, that was what he wanted to say, but another problem soon reared its ugly head. His magic wasn't the only thing not listening to him; he tried to speak and opened his mouth to do so, but no sound came out. He did manage a faint gasp of shock, but nothing else. Immediately he raised one gloved hand to his throat, to check for anything strange. He didn't find anything out of place, so this was probably due to the same thing that kept his magic out of reach. Whatever it was, it did feel like it would wear off eventually, but just not right this second.

Well, this certainly made it rather inconvenient to try to communicate, didn't it? With not much other recourse, Grodus shook his head at Neri's words, then set about investigating just why she didn't think he was himself. He took stock of things as he looked down at himself. His robes were in order, the sash was in the right place, he even still had his gloves. Hmm, what were these faded blue strands hanging down? The mage reached to grab a handful and pulled lightly, only to wince for a second as he felt a tug upon his head. Wait a minute, since when did he have hair?

Even worse, as he checked his cape and scarf they were around his neck rather than obscuring his face. As far as Grodus strayed from the customs of his world, this was taboo even for him! You just didn't run around showing your face to everyone in X-Naut society, it wasn't proper. Only family or those similarly close had the privilege to see each other that way.

The technomage glanced around a bit frantically looking for something to cover himself with. Thankfully Link still had that blanket. Grodus grabbed it and draped it over his head, feeling a little less anxious once he did. Still, it did nothing for his other problems, and it remained to be seen what Link and Neri would do now.

Oh dear, he jolted! He jolted! The fairy and innkeeper made a note to be even more careful now. So wait, he jolted when they said they were going to find Grodus, and then he shook his head. So he did NOT want them to find his father? Link cannot imagine any newcomer who would not want to rush off and find somebody they were familiar with.

Soon, it became clear why the boy didn’t want to go yet. Apparently, he wanted to check if he was dressed appropriately to meet his father? Well, Grodus does have this certain air of around him as if he had high expectations of things. Link did not know much details of his backstory outside of what the mage would share with them, but the way he, and also this boy, were dressed, it made him think that maybe they were some sort of nobility - t’s the collar, cape and staff mainly.

If Grodus was of noble birth, then Link was not surprised if he expected his son to look decent on his first meeting him here. Fear not, young yellow! You look fine and it seems like you do not suffer from extreme bed hair - quite unlike Link - so you don’t need to check your hair, nor do you - ouch… need to tug your hair.

Apparently, whilst Link and Neri thought Grodus’ son looked fine, the boy himself didn’t share their opinion, as very soon, they found the blanket pulled from Link’s hands and draped over his head. Link tried to piece this information together. All the clothes looked fine and exactly like Grodus’ so what in the Great Sea was wrong with his attire that he needed to cover himself like this? What did Grodus have that his son did not? Maybe if he could figure out what it was, he could work towards reuniting father and son quicker.

    Cape - check
    Collar - check
    Robes - check
    Staff - check
    Round dome head….. absent!

So… they need to find a helmet for Grodus’ son? And not just a normal helmet, but a fancy one that looked like Grodus’ complex one. Oh dear, that was a lot harder than they thought. Link had just thought maybe young Groduses look human and then turn into robotic dome heads when they grow up… or something. What if they wore dome heads from young to practice for the future?! So Grodus’ son was missing his and this would disappoint his father greatly!

Link took a deep breath through his nose, his back and shoulders straightened right up and his face adopted a determined expression. He put his hands on the boy’s shoulder. “Aa!” He will help! To the best he can! He will help find this round dome helmet Grodus’ son was missing. Leave it to him!

Then Link turned on his heel and marched off to find Impa, leaving Neri to stay with the boy.

Once the innkeeper got into the security office, he immediately started waving his arms as he ran up to Impa.

“Eh! Ah!” he called. He mimed a big dome over his head and also holding a staff - his own sign language for their mage tenant. Then he started pantomiming looking around for something and the big dome head again. After about two rounds of this, he realised that it probably looked like he wanted Impa to find Grodus, which wasn’t exactly what he wanted. Better write this down.

“I found Grodus’ Grodus’s Grodu’s Gro Which one was it? Apostrophe S or S Apostrophe? Er… let’s settle for the next best thing. He drew a quick picture of their tenant’s head.

”Son! He lost his helmet! Do you know where I can find one?”

Grodus had no idea what Link was trying to reassure him about, but the boy's gestures did help settle his nerves a bit further. Well, it helped at least until the young innkeeper went rushing off to wherever, leaving Neri behind presumably to keep watch.

The technomage stood up to run after Link... only to very quickly discover his center of gravity was nowhere near where he remembered it being. Grodus tried his best to keep his balance, holding his arms out and even trying to use his staff to brace himself against the floor, but he ended up sitting right back down.

Even though he still couldn't manage a word, Grodus let out a faint yet very frustrated growl. Ugh, how many more things were going to be wrong with him? He really hoped this latest annoyance was going to be the last issue, he wasn't sure what he would do if anything else wasn't working.

He sighed a bit and looked down at himself, noting that he probably was a lot shorter than usual. He caught a glimpse of what was apparently his hair again as well, taking a hold of some of it this time and bringing it up to eye level. He didn't mind the color, he supposed, but the length might turn out to be a problem. And how did one even take care of hair like this?

Suddenly he felt very much in need of a mirror, to see just what exactly was done to him.

The Hyruleans did not have a set lunch time for themselves, especially given how unpredictable things could be on any given day at the inn, and that flexibility served them greatly even on the quieter days. Today, they had wound up taking their lunch a good bit earlier so as to be able to catch Tetra around some of her deliveries, since the young pirate captain had found herself with a few in the morning and then even more in the early afternoon. The five of them had met up and had a fine meal together before going about their daily tasks again, Impa herself soon returning to the lower level of the security office. The defensive wards and other security measures always did a fine job of keeping the Stock Pot Inn as safe as it could be, but it was always best to make sure they were in proper working order and even more to see if any updates needed to be made to what she had set up here.

As part of that, whilst Sheik was taking care of a general sweep of the building, Impa had taken the chance to head to her desk, working on an updated diagram of the security details for the roof. Although the inn was protected from undue entry, the teleportation that one of their own tenants had just experienced was certainly within the grounds of a safe one, so the Sheikah had only been vaguely aware that someone had suddenly arrived in the lobby via less than conventional means. The sense she picked up from the wards was benign at best, so she did not pay it too much mind, instead focusing on drawing up her diagram.

A few minutes later, Impa perked up as Link suddenly appeared in her office. Glancing up from her work and raising an eyebrow at the lad as he began waving his arms wildly, the Sheikah set her pencil down once he ran up to her. "Is everything all right, Link?" He did not seem panicked per se, but he was certainly worked up about something. No sooner had she asked this than did the Hero of Winds pantomime his own actions that indicated Grodus, but although Impa could tell who he was trying to talk about, there wasn't really much of a way for him to convey just what he was concerned about.

Pushing her chair away from her desk as the lad pulled out his tablet so that he could prepare his message, Impa quickly read over his text and presented image. Her red eyes widened slightly as she caught the word 'son,' just before she looked to Link's own gaze, asking, "His son? Grodus' son has arrived here?"

The Sheikah trusted the boy implicitly and knew that he would not claim something without a very good reason, but she was more than a little surprised at the idea of the technomage having a son. Whether this was actually what was going on or not was yet to be seen, but once Link had a chance to answer her, Impa shook her head regarding his question. "I do not know where we can find a helmet, much less one like Grodus' own, but perhaps it would be best if we both went to check on him."

Standing to her full height and gesturing to Link, Impa stated, "Please lead the way."

Neri squeaked in concern as the boy started to stand up, only to look rather unsteady and ultimately sat back down. The situation was more dire than she thought! Surely a trip through the portal shouldn’t have weakened somebody so much they cannot stand. How in the World of the Ocean King did he manage to get all the way to the inn from wherever he materialised from? Or maybe… well, it wasn’t the first time somebody had arrived to Portal Breach directly into the inn’s lobby so maybe that was what happened to Grodus’ son.

The Spirit of Wisdom also wondered if the lack of a helmet may have weakened him. Maybe he wasn’t used to walking around without the weight of the helmet and his balance was off. Huh, does that mean that he is literally light-headed right now then?

Oh shush Neri! This was not the time to make silly jokes like that. The boy growled and Neri wondered if it would insult a noble boy’s pride very much if she said ‘there, there’ in comfort and maybe give his head a pat or two of her wings.

Over at Link’s side, he nodded to confirm that, yes, Grodus’ son was indeed here at the Breach and it occurred to him that finding a helmet for him that was just as fancy as Grodus’ might be VERY difficult job. Maybe he lost it on his way to the inn. In which case, Link started patting through the inventory of items he had with him as he and Impa started making their way to the lobby. He pulled out his piglet mask. He pointed at it and sniffed the air loudly to present his idea to Impa.

“Impa!” greeted Neri as they walked into view. She looked down at the boy. “This is Impa. She’s the inn’s Head of Security and she’s very talented in… er… well almost everything, I think. We can help!”

Grodus was pretty lost in his thoughts by the time Link returned to the lobby, not really paying attention to much else until he heard Neri speak up. The innkeeper wasn't alone now, he'd apparently gone to get Impa's help. Or more likely, the Sheikah heard whatever Link had to say, and wanted to get a good look for herself at what was going on.

The technomage tried not to roll his eyes too hard at the introduction, as Neri still didn't seem to realize he wasn't new here at all. He looked up at the head of security, though, getting some more evidence he had somehow lost a decent portion of his height. He usually never had to look up quite that distance to meet her eyes.

That thought reminded him of something... Oh, right, didn't he overhear something about Eyes of Truth in passing at some point? If what he heard about the Sheikah's uncanny ability to see the truth in everything was right, then going to retrieve her was certainly the best choice Link could've made. Grodus couldn't help but smile a bit, Impa here would hopefully be able to see right through whatever was making the others think he was someone else.

Impa was more than a little surprised to hear that not only had Grodus' son arrived here, but also that Link was so confident in his report. She did not doubt the lad at all, but it was still pretty incredible to think that someone supposedly so close to the technomage had arrived in this world. Admittedly, one thing that had the Sheikah especially perplexed was that she had not been certain if Grodus was even capable of having kids… granted, she had not spent too much time pondering such, but given his own physiology, it struck her as something more curious than unlikely.

As Link led the way back to the lobby, Impa saw that the boy had begun to check his inventory to see if he had anything that might help them out in their efforts to assist the new arrival. Once he pulled out his mask and wordlessly offered to use it to transform to see if he could track anything for them, the Sheikah  held up her left hand, shaking her head slightly before stating, "That's all right, Link. It's a fine idea, but let's see if we can determine just what he needs before we go through our searching options."

A moment later, once they had entered the lobby proper, Neri was quick to greet them, her relief evident in her voice even around the concern she still held for the one she had stayed with. Impa came to a stop just beside Link, and as the Spirit of Wisdom voiced her kind words and shifted her attention back to the boy on the couch, the Sheikah herself then focused on the one being addressed. She had already got a decent look at and sense of him, but once she was able to do so even better, her red eyes widened the slightest touch. They instantly narrowed again as she saw not just the person before her, but who they actually were.

Impa did not know the technomage as well as she knew some of their other tenants, but she still knew him well enough by now to see him regardless of what her Eyes of Truth told her. That skill of hers instantly confirmed one thing: this was not Grodus' son.

"Yes, we can help," stated Impa after a heavy pause. That much was certain, even though she knew that they would not be able to help as much as they might have liked. How in the world had he come under such a drastic change? At the very least, he appeared to be all right, but it was best to take care of one thing at a time here. Keeping her gaze steady on the transformed technomage, Impa took a deep breath before adding, "Link, Neri… this is not a new arrival. This is Grodus himself."

“Ha,” breathed Link, nodding as he put his pig mask back into his inventory. True, he might be a bit too hasty trying to help. Nonetheless, Impa agreed it was a good idea if they were to search for a helmet, and he was set to whip it back out at a moment’s notice if they were to proceed with that plan.

Link and Neri waited silently as they let Impa look the new person over with her truth seeing eyes. They noted the Sheikah’s widened eyes and then the narrowing of them to. Link breathed a sigh of relief. See! Even Impa was surprised to see Grodus’ son here. They were not wrong. Now to work on that helping him find that helmet. Where could it be? He hoped it wasn’t far and that nobody had taken it away from that spot yet. Imagine how angry Grodus could be if he found out somebody stole his son’s helmet.

“Uh?” sounded Link as his mind came to a confused stop.

“This is Grodus?” Neri asked, at first in confusion as she tried to absorb this information, then she repeated it again, much louder and incredulous. Link and his fairy gaped at the young man before them. From hair, to youthful face, to body structure, to...

Link almost moved forward to poke, prod and maybe spin the boy around to double check, but instead his hand halted mid-air and he composed a new message on his crablet. “Are you hurt? Do you feel like anything feels wrong? What happened?”

He held the message out to their transformed tenant.

At Neri's repeated questions, Grodus nodded firmly. No, even if he probably looked a lot different, he was still the same person despite the change.

Although, he certainly wasn't expecting just how different. As the technomage glanced down to read Link's latest message, he caught sight of his own reflection on the tablet's shiny surface. It wasn't a perfect reflection given the tablet wasn't a mirror, but that was plenty to get the gist across. The shock of that was enough to knock his voice back into working order, though even it had suffered a change. "I-- I'm human?! This makes no sense..."

It took him a moment to sort through his reaction, but once the initial shock passed, Grodus noted Link's message and actually read it that time. The boy's concern helped to settle him a bit; at least someone seemed to care. "I believe I am uninjured, but it almost feels as if my mind needs to catch up to what's been done to my body. I was unable to speak until just now, and my magic seems out of reach at the moment, though it is still there. I was having issues with my balance earlier, though it may just be I'm used to being taller."

As the last question, Grodus hesitated in answering, trying to gather his thoughts. They didn't need to know why he went out, though he imagined Impa might have a vague idea of it if she kept track of his recent comings and goings at all. Regret briefly tore at him, but he managed to push it aside and answer. "What happened . . . I ended up stumbling upon an old enemy in the Outer District. Don't go looking for her, she is quite powerful but if she hasn't emerged from her den to stir up chaos then chances are she won't. My memories are fuzzy at this point, but I imagine we fought and she killed me. I can't remember anything else after that until waking up here, not even how I ended up like this."

Save his mysteriously altered form, Grodus seemed to be fine. Once Neri and Link recovered from their own surprise at this discovery, the Hero of Winds quickly moved to ask the very questions that Impa had on her mind. Folding her arms and lifting her head slightly as though to echo his inquiries, the Sheikah kept her gaze steady even as the technomage finally got a good look at himself. It might not have been a mirror, but even with its screen lit to better display text, it was reflective enough to show him just how much he had changed. As he exclaimed in shock, Impa instantly caught the higher pitch his voice had shifted towards. She supposed it made enough sense, but at the very least, he was still able to communicate without any trouble. She was already too familiar with taking on a new form that made her unable to speak, and whilst that had not been terribly hard to contend with, it had still been a challenge at times.

"You do appear to be, but the most important thing is still your own well-being. Save this, are you all right?" Impa asked, soon nodding as Grodus confirmed that he was not hurt. It made enough sense that his mind still needed time to catch up to things, especially since he had only just returned to the inn. Given the fact that this drastic change was rather fresh, each of the differences he noted seemed logical enough; his speech had returned and his balance was likely to do so even more. As far as his magic was concerned, it would likely be accessible sooner rather than later, but even so… "From the sound of things, it should return before too long as well. You can still feel it, so that alone is promising."

As the technomage paused to think over his answer to the question regarding just what had happened, Impa could not help but wonder if his latest series of comings and goings from the inn had anything to do with this. She did not keep precise tabs on their tenants, but she did have at least a rough idea of who was in and out of the Stock Pot Inn. Grodus was one that split his time between his room and outside of it, but his trips outside had picked up in frequency. Regardless, it was not her place to inquire. As it was, she simply listened as he detailed just what happened.

Impa's red gaze narrowed slightly as Grodus mentioned an old enemy of his, and although she had not been about to go looking for a fight, she did appreciate the technomage's quick insistence that they let dormant threats lie. It was something to keep in mind for the future though, and with that fact filed away, Impa listened as their tenant detailed the exchange that had gravely injured him before landing him here. Once he had finished speaking, Impa let a few beats of silence pass before saying anything.

"I see… thank you for telling us this. Rest assured, we will not seek out a fight that is not necessary. I am just relieved that transformed or not, you were able to return safely from that encounter. It is entirely possible that there are are some other forces at play behind this, but at least you were whisked back to a place you know well. … … … Is there anything we can do to help you?"

And suddenly he could talk! Link had not known he had been worried about that part of Grodus’ change until he felt a wave of relief wash over him at hearing the newly transformed mage talk. Whilst a small part of him would not mind having another person to join his friends of non-speakers, he wouldn’t wish the lack of speech on anybody, especially on somebody who was used to talking.

Link nodded when Grodus confirmed he is not hurt. He pulled his crablet back to himself, observed its reflective surface, then handed it to his fairy for temporary holding as he reached over his back to pull his mirror shield off. Having been through a transformation himself, he understood that whilst it might be a shock, you are also rather desperately curious to know what you look like in your new form. The innkeeper turned the shield around and held it out to the transformed technomage so that he could get a better look at his new form. It was a lot more youthful than what Link would have imagined a human Grodus would look. Link wondered if it is a true representation of his age or was turning younger intentional.

An old enemy? Link looked at Grodus curiously as he tried to imagine what an enemy of his would look like. Did they have a dome head too? A female enemy as well. What would a female of Grodus’ kind look like?

“It is a bit worrying that something like this happened in the city though. It’s usually pretty safe, so if magic of this level could be used then...” Neri left that sentence unfinished as she fear if she said it aloud, she would really signal the start of yet another city-wide apocalypse.

Grodus was inwardly thankful when Link decided to bring out that mirror shield. He got a somewhat good idea of what happened to him from the tablet's reflective surface, but this would be far better. Once the innkeeper was holding his shield steady, the mage finally got a good look at himself.

"Why am I so young...?" That was the first thought Grodus voiced, staring at his new reflection. He was at least a few centuries old, this made about as much sense of getting turned into a human to begin with. Maybe this had something to do with his problems the past few weeks, feeling lost, abandoned and even quite scared . . . whatever did this may have decided to make his outer appearance match his inner turmoil. A brief jolt of outrage ran through him, but his lingering anxiety soon overpowered it.

He felt a stinging at the corners of his eyes. Ugh, were those tears starting to form? Grodus fought to get a better hold on his emotions and managed it after a moment, though he wiped at his eyes with one sleeve.

At least he wasn't completely on his own here, even if the inn staff weren't X-Nauts. Impa was willing to help, but where to even begin...? "I would ask you to help me find something to break whatever spell was placed upon me, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I can't even stay standing for long currently; it would be best to get used to this body before I venture out again."

He paused for a moment as that strange rumbling in his midsection from earlier made itself known again. What even was that? "Um, perhaps you could tell me what that noise was?" He pointed towards the spot he felt it coming from, roughly his stomach area. "It's about there. I've never truly been organic before, so this is completely new..."

As for Neri's concerns, the technomage shook his head a bit. "Well, it was the Outer District . . . there could be any number of terrible things happening there, really. If the Shadow Queen was going to make a move, you would have plenty of advance warning. Have there been any earthquakes today? We should be safe if there haven't been."

Impa watched Grodus carefully as he took the chance to get a proper look at his new reflection in Link's Mirror Shield. His initial shock had subsided due to his previous realization of this fact, but being able to actually see what form he had taken appeared to be helping him sort through this strange event even more. Still, before too long, he did voice one of the thoughts that had admittedly run through the Sheikah's mind ever since she had been called to come check on the technomage. She did not know Grodus’ age, nor was she an expert on X-Nauts, but between the general sense she got about him and all previous interactions they had had, he was most assuredly an adult.

Perhaps this was a case where much like Vaati himself, the technomage had a form that belied his chronological age. As one that had already hit an extremely slowed aging process herself, Impa could certainly understand that, but for such a case as this transformation, it was still very perplexing. Whether any factors from him had contributed to his current appearance or not, at least the younger form did not seem to be too much of a disadvantage. “I am not certain… it might very well be an effect of what caused your change in the first place.” Regardless as to what it was, the Sheikah was still set to do what she could to help him sort things out and return to his true form.

Impa raised her eyebrows the slightest bit as tears threatened to escape the technomage’s eyes, but he was quick to take care of them, just before he answered her prior question. Nodding as he noted that he was getting ahead of himself, Impa heard out his first suggestion for himself before stating, "That is a wise course of action. Link and I have both been cursed before, and when you change forms as part of any curse, it is very important to take the chance to adapt to your altered state as best you can. We might not be human outright, but we should be able to help you adapt to your current form.”

Before any of them could voice much more, Grodus’ stomach decided to make its own presence known, letting out a moderate growl. It was not something out of the ordinary for Link or Impa, but for one that was not used to humanoid physiology, it could certainly be a source of confusion. Sure enough, the technomage was perplexed by this unfamiliar phenomenon, and Impa could not help but smile softly as she stated, “That would be your stomach, Grodus. Sometimes it can be rather audible, especially if you are hungry.”

As Grodus took the chance to ease Neri’s nerves with his answer as to where exactly in the city this whole event transpired, Impa’s red gaze narrowed slightly. She was not at all surprised to learn that this had happened in the Outer District, but not for the first time, she found herself wondering just why that one district was such a hot spot for troublesome activity. It was in the city, so it should have had the same protection as the rest of the districts… but this was an entirely different matter from the run-of-the-mill activity there. The Shadow Queen was undoubtedly a unique entity, and her own power had led to this, although there had not been any other indication of her presence.

Shaking her head slightly, Impa noted, “No, there have not been any earthquakes. There have not been any in the area and we have not heard reports of them elsewhere.”
