"Oh, yes, I'm sure you can see his secretary and she can place you for an appointment sometime in the near future," GLaDOS said, swiveling her frame to the side. That was pure sarcasm, which she hoped these two would be able to pick up on. If not, it was no loss for her--perhaps they could find out more about this so-called deity than she had.

The not-AI called out a warning to his companion, and GLaDOS looked back over--apparently the human had been about to try executing an attack in the middle of the library. That would have ended well.

When the human entered in another command, the Transistor displayed a new screen. It was much like the one that had been spilling out GLaDOS's secrets... except this one was spewing out information about the human. She was able to read it quickly. Some of it she had already heard from the not-AI, but it was interesting to hear it from another source. But she was quickly getting tired of this obviously fruitless endeavor--even so, she chose to remark on part of the text.

"You were a singer," she noted, but she said it in such a plain way that it would be difficult to tell what she was thinking.

    Until she went on.

"That worked out well for you, didn't it?"

Oh that was it. Red had been barely putting up with the GLaDOS's insults and condescending attitude, but making fun of her for losing her voice, and by extension her entire career? That's where she drew the line. She didn't need this. She didn't have to put up with this stupid machine that had so far done nothing helpful besides mock her and blame her for its own failed "experiments". It just wasn't worth it.

As far as GLaDOS could see, Red may as well have ripped the Transistor from the ground with sheer rage alone. Her hands were balled into fists at her side when the Transistor forcibly ejected itself from its access point, and didn't come anywhere near it until she caught it as it was falling back down and swung it around behind her, threatening to strike GLaDOS in its arc but not making any actual contact. Without looking back, she stormed for the Library entrance, leaving even the man in the Transistor in stunned silence for a few moments before he could finallly quip "...wasn't much help anyway."

GLaDOS couldn't say she was totally surprised at the human's outburst, but she didn't expect her to quite react like that. Did the Transistor just respond to her emotions or her thoughts? That was an interesting--if currently useless--bit of information.

When the human caught the Transistor and swung it, GLaDOS quickly analyzed the arc to determine that she would not be hit by it, and did not move. But she did move back slightly afterward, her self-preservation subroutines ready to help her dodge any other potential attacks. This body was not built for that.

And with that, the human stormed away. So much for that.

GLaDOS did not regret her comment, however--she rarely regretted a well-made insult. Yes, it did cause the human to storm off, but it wasn't like they were getting anywhere, anyway. In fact, it had helped to end the failed test quite quickly.

...If only there weren't the problem of trying to find yet another way out of this rotten place.

Shrugging her chassis in a silent sigh, GLaDOS continued into the deeper sections of the library to continue her research. Perhaps there would be more Science to be done another day.
