We hope you enjoy in flight chatter because there was no way Xiao would stay quiet for long when in the company of friends. In fact, she doesn’t even stay quiet when she was by herself. If nobody talked, the yaojing would happily chatter away enough for two, three and maybe four people. By the time they reached the airspace above the inn, Cozu and Sir Meta Knight would have learnt that the squirrel’s favourite colour was orange, followed by baby yellow, but all other colours are grand as well. She likes pistachios the most out of all kinds of nuts, because the Chinese words for pistachios were ‘Happy Fruit’. She hated swimming and water in general apart from when eating, drinking, bathing and cleaning. She had rambled on about how that cloud looked like a peacock, this one was a rat and that one was looked like the candyfloss from the amusement park. Whether her flying friends heard any of her words were irrelevant, she just liked to babble and ramble.

“There it is! There it is! We’re here!” Xiao Xiao announced cheerily as they approached the inn and she started a descent down to the pavement below. She landed on the ground in front of the building’s front door, then cast her gaze back up to admire the building. Wow, it didn’t look like it changed since she was last here. Hopefully, it was still just as friendly?

“We’re here! We’re here! Welcome to the inn, Cozu!” Xiao chirruped.

Cozu kept quiet on the trip to the Inn. He had alot of things on his mind, ranging from what his home would look like, to how others would treat him, and what the food would taste like. He shut his eyes, thinking of the delectable eatery that would await him. He took in some of the information, and he began to tune her out after she began to describe clouds that flew by here and there.

As Cozu landed, he glimmered for a second, and he reverted to his normal state. He held the closed Parasol in is his hand, which he quickly stuffed into his bag. "Wow... this is a pretty big building..." Big or not, it'd become the thing he'd regain.

    A home.

Sir Meta Knight remained quiet during the flight back into the city, content to allow Xiao Xiao to do all the talking. He didn't mind listening to her ramble, though he did tune out some of it as his mind wandered back to places he hadn't seen in what felt like ages. The TAC--still in the form of a Parasol Dee during their flight--was partially to blame for this, as it made the knight wonder if he would ever see his own friends again. If another from his world had come through a portal, perhaps others would as well, someday...

When they finally descended toward the inn, he was glad, eager to allow his wings to rest. As soon as they landed, his wings became a cape once more, which he allowed to hang loosely behind him.

The sight of the inn was not too grand of one for Meta Knight, having lived in the building for some time now. At Cozu's statement, he turned to the TAC and nodded. "It is. Many people live here--including me." He approached the door, opening it and gesturing to his companions. "Shall we enter?"

It was just about time for lunch, and although the day had been going very smoothly, Link was admittedly looking forward to that proper break. He looked forward to every meal, especially those with his closest friends, and that much stood whether it was something that the inn's kitchen had made, that they had gotten elsewhere, or anything that they happened to cook back upstairs in their own rooms.

Today, to make sure they had a hearty meal as well as something extra nice to help warm them up on this winter's day, Impa had proposed the idea of making a creamy stew for lunch. That was something that all four of the Hylian kids had readily voiced their approval of, as even though the inn was kept at a cozy temperature throughout the colder months just as it was the rest of the year, something extra warm was always nice. That stood for the fireplace, warm blankets, hot drinks, and hot food... especially soups and stews.

As it was, Link was currently sitting at the front desk working on sorting some files, having just waved to the older Link as the Hero of Winds had made his way upstairs to meet Impa. He had a feeling that Sheik and Tetra would be heading up that way shortly, the two of them having readily stepped in to check on the last couple of security items so that Impa could get a head start on their midday feast, and he found his own excitement mounting.

As he filed the next sheet of paper away, the tips of his pointed ears perked up ever so slightly as he was pretty sure he might have heard someone just outside the front door. The sound was faint enough that he couldn't make out what was said, but it was almost like a whisper across his own sense of hearing that someone might have been returning to or arriving at the inn. Whether it was that or his own eagerness for lunch playing tricks on him, the Hero of Time carried on with his task, set to go join the rest of his friends once everything was in order.

Xiao took a few moments to give the air outside the inn a few curious sniffs, just because she could. And just as she was about to turn into her human form to handle the door-opening, Sir Knight opened it. With a nod of thanks, Xiao trotted cheerily through the doorway and was instantly happy to recognise the face on the other side of the reception desk!

“Mr. Link!” she squeaked. If Link was here, then his fairy was too, right? Right right! Because Xiao’s logic dictates that where Links are, fairies are too. Like, where teapots are, teacups are bound to be found as well. Sadly, from her low angle on the floor, she cannot see any fairies yet (fly higher, Miss. Pretty Fairy!) but it did not stop her from shifting in the blink of an eye into her human form, scoop up Cozu and bound over to the desk eagerly.

“We brought a new person! He’s Sir Knight’s friend! Can he have a room? Isn’t he adorable? Where is Miss. Pretty Fairy?” she babbled as she presented the TAC like a child presenting their teacher with a miraculous animal they found in the school yard - that is, held up (or down in this case) for inspection.

Cozu stepped inside, taking in the unfamiliar air and surroundings he would soon be accustomed to. He was caught off guard, however, when Xiao Xiao morphed and scooped him up. "Woah! I... uh... m-my name is C-Cozu, sir... It w-wouldn't be too much trouble to... uh... give me a room?" He had to say, if he didn't have to walk, he'd enjoy it. His bulbous bag jiggled around as he was tossed, but the parasol didn't move, nor could it be seen. The thought of sharing a room with the powerful Meta Knight crossed his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. He probably wanted solitude, or some other important thing like that.

Sir Meta Knight shut the door as Xiao Xiao and Cozu made their way in, and marched after them. He was a little surprised to see a different Link there--he'd been expecting the other one, since that was whom he'd seen when he'd first come to the Inn upon his arrival at the Breach. Even so, he knew that the Inn staff was excellent and that Cozu shouldn't have much of a problem getting himself situated. "Hello," he greeted with a slight nod toward the Hyrulian.

He did give Xiao Xiao a glance when she turned into her taller form and picked up Cozu to carry him to the counter. That didn't seem especially necessary, but the TAC didn't seem to mind.

Speaking of, he wondered if the other Dreamlander would prefer to stay on the same floor as his. He didn't say anything just yet, though, waiting to see if Cozu would say whether or not he had a preference first.

"Ah, hi Xiao!" Well this was a surprise! The Hero of Time had not seen the yaojing in quite a while, but she seemed to be doing well. What was really interesting though was that she was not alone; no, she was accompanied by Sir Meta Knight and a new person entirely! The new arrival appeared to be of a similar size if not a similar species as well to the masked warrior, and before Link could get a better glance at him, he did turn to Meta Knight at his own greeting. Nodding to him, he stated, "Hello sir. Welcome back!"

A moment later, Xiao changed into her human form before summarily picking up the new arrival and bringing him over to the front desk. Link blinked curiously at him before he chuckled a little sheepishly at the squirrel demon's excited flurry of words. "Ha-ha, so I see! Welcome to the Stock Pot Inn." As far as the subject of Tatl went, Link was pretty sure that the Terminian fairy had already darted upstairs to check in with Sheik and Tetra before heading up, but before he could answer Xiao, another fairy fluttered out from underneath the desk and and responded for him.

"Sis is busy helping out with something," noted Tael, chiming softly as he looked to the yaojing. "She actually flew upstairs a little while ago. I'm sure we can help you, though!"

Smiling to Cozu at his greeting and inquiry, Link nodded to him before greeting, "Hi Cozu. My name is Link; I'm the assistant innkeeper. It wouldn't be any trouble at all! We actually have four floors here… do you have a preference for one of them?" Regardless as to whether the new arrival had any strong feelings towards a certain floor or not, Link went ahead and pulled out a new room form for him. It was good to be prepared, after all!

“Hello~ Hello~ Hello~” she chimed. This Link was the….taller Link, right? She couldn’t remember which one was older but they were both lovely little gentlemen.

“The Links are very good innkeepers,” she said to Cozu who was still in her hands. “They are always very helpful when I bring new people here. And they have fairies. Anybody with fairies are good people.”

There was no Miss. Pretty Fairy but there was a MR. Pretty Fairy. Xiao’s expressions lit  right up. Back in the good old days of her own first arrival to this world, the squirrel yaojing would have dropped Cozu to exchange for tackle hugging the pretty-ful fairy in front of her. She would not have meant offense to the TAC if she did do something like that, but rather her attention was just that easily distracted.

Now, she was a bit more mature. Instead of dropping Cozu, Xiao Xiao set him down carefully on the desk so that he could fill in forms on it, instead of on the floor (though she did wonder if he would be able to get up to the desk’s height by himself if she did set him on the floor). Then she eagerly waved with both hands to the fairy. “Squeeee, you’re as cute as always.”

She held her hands up and asked, “Can I hug you?” Miss. Tatl never liked it when she hugged her out of the blue, so this fairy might be the same. It would be better to ask for permission first. “Can I please hug you? I’ll be gentle! I have had plenty of practice hugging eyebats! Pretty please?”

Though the chasupas of Vaati’s palace were a lot more squishable and sturdier looking than a fairy, but Xiao wasn’t going to mention that and ruin her chances of hugging one.

Cozu raised a non existing eyebrow. A fairy...? To him, it just looked like a dark orb with wings. But he had to remember: this wasn't Popstar. Perhaps this small boy had come from another world, just like him and Meta Knight! "The Stock Pot Inn... it's got a nice ring to it, I'll say."

Cozu scratched his ears as he was set down on the counter. "I'll have to take your word for it." He had to wonder... why did she say "Links"? Was there just two people with the same name, or was there two of them? He'd find out eventually. There was more important things to do.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Link." The question of the four floors came to mind, and a ton of possibilities ran through the young TAC's mind. So many options! The first floor provides me with quick exits, but the top floor can give me a wondrous view of the city... The other two floors do have points, but... Cozu huffed, and raised his hand. "I'd like a room on the fourth floor, please. I... like breathtaking views." He nervously eyed the room form.

Sir Meta Knight watched as Xiao Xiao chattered to Link and the fairy, giving a faint smile when he heard her actually ask permission to hug the fairy. "That is quite polite of you, Xiao Xiao," he said, eyes lighting up in amusement. "I do not recall your asking permission on other occasions..."

He recalled that even in his first encounter with her, she had dived out of nowhere to hug him. That had been... quite some time ago, back around the time he had first appeared in this world. It was strange to think of how he had so stubbornly been searching for a way back, back then, whereas he accepted his fate now. He glanced at Cozu, glad that the TAC had not been nearly so stubborn as he.

When said TAC announced that he would like a room on the fourth floor, Meta Knight hummed in thought. "That would place you on the same floor as me," he mentioned. "I suppose it would be nice to have a fellow Dreamlander close by."

Post by Link64 on Wed Apr 22, 2015 3:13 pm

Link was indeed the taller of the two young heroes here, even if that height advantage was only very slight. Whilst he had about a half or whole inch on his best friend, he was in fact the younger of the two by about a year and half. The Hero of Winds might have been a little older, but he and the Hero of Time had still become fast friends upon their arrivals in this world.

Unable to suppress a soft chuckle at the vote of confidence from Xiao, Link soon cast a sheepish smile to Tael. He wasn't sure how the shy fairy might react to the exclamation from the squirrel demon much less her request for a hug. Still, he did laugh a little more at Meta Knight's own musing on the subject of hugs. As for Tael himself, the purple fairy chimed and tensed slightly, not quite positive of how to react to such a question. He had been hugged before, but… he was mostly used to fairy hugs. But… Xiao Xiao had at least asked first… so… maybe it was okay?

"Ah… yes? Th-thank you for asking, though…" noted Tael as he fluttered just a little closer. He was sure it would be fine, but he still couldn't help but feel the slightest bit shy over how forthright that question was.

Link nodded to Cozu's next greeting before smiling a bit more at his request for a room on the fourth floor. "All right! The fourth floor it is, then." As the Hero of Time moved to check the room list and find a key for one of the open rooms on the top floor, he grinned a bit more at the added remark from Sir Meta Knight. The Hylian had thought about that once the TAC mentioned the fourth floor, and it was nice to hear the kind sentiment voiced by the masked warrior. With a good room found and marked on the master plan, Link fished out the proper keycard and placed the form on the desk for Cozu. Getting a pen ready for him, he added, "I just need you to print and sign your name here, and I can give you your cardkey! It lets you into your room, the inn if you return after we lock the doors for the night, and it gets you free meals here."

Cozu shifted his eyes to the mighty knight. "The feeling is very mutual, sir. I hope that anyone else on Popstar could safely escape." But, then again... what about the other planets? Popstar wasn't the only one in his galaxy. There was Halfmoon, Hotbeat, Floria... he'd keep that in mind, but for now, it was time to seal the deal and get himself a place to call home. "Just the thought of food is driving me quite crazy... let's get this over with so I can check my room, and settle down for a snack!" Taking the pen, and scratching his ears with his free hand, the TAC signed down his name and the date he had signed the document of importance.

Xiao tilted her head at the amusement displayed by that twinkle in her lovely knight friend’s eye.

“But you never asked me to ask you first?” she tried then frown. Was she supposed to ask before she hug him too? All her other friends never required asking. Though she suppose that if you reverse the hugging, she supposed she would appreciate people asking before they hugged her. She had no qualms if a female other person hugged her, but somebody of the opposite sex? That was asking for a good slapping…. unless you’re  something adorably cute like Sir Knight and Cozu because that was like asking if you want a cute and cuddly creature to hug you - in which case, it was always ‘YES!’ for Xiao, unless the creature resembled a cat. Hmm, she’s not very fond of dogs either. Wait, she was wandering off in her own mind again.

“Miss. Tatl snapped at me when I tried to hug her last time. She was very angry and explicitly told me that all fairies are to be asked before hugging. Would I have to do the same for you now as well, Sir Knight?” she asked. You could almost hear a whine in her tone and it was definitely laced with the undertones of an upcoming pout.

On hearing Tael’s agreement to be hugged, Xiao brightened right up again, her hands snatched forward as if she did not have a moment to waste. She grabbed the fairy out of the air with both hands and it was only until she was pulling the fairy towards her cheek that she remembered to be gentler. Nonetheless, she pressed the fairy to her cheek and gave Tael a great big nuzzle, cooing the entire time. “You’re sooooooo cute and pretty~”

You people continue your new room stuff, this squirrel is pretty much lost to you for a couple more minutes.

Asked her to ask me first? Sir Meta Knight was sure it did not work that way, but he wasn't about to argue with her. "No, I suppose I did not," he admitted, still fairly amused. "Do not worry about it--I do not think it matters at this point." Especially given he'd known the squirrel for some time now. But his voice took a slightly more serious tone as he continued, "However, you should probably keep in mind to ask others for their permission first. Fairies are not the only creatures who dislike being hugged without their permission." He did hope she wouldn't get herself in trouble hugging a being that might attack her, and wondered briefly if that might have already happened before.

While Xiao Xiao was busy hugging the fairy, Meta Knight turned his attention back to Cozu. "Yes... I truly hope others may be able to find their way here."

He watched him sign the document, then, "I may join you for a brief meal once you have examined your room."
