    Addictions

    July 7th, Year 5

A quiet night out on the docks, the shore flowing in and out as the waves crashed along the rocks. Yes, it was a lovely night with the stars glistening and twinkling... what could be better?

    Drugs, apparently.

There wasn't much in the way of drug trafficking in the Breach, but when there was, it took the right kind of people and amount of people to make things work. And when things worked, that's when you knew you had them all in the palm of your hand. For a week, after the discovery of corrodium, Zs'Skayr had decided there should be a quicker, easier way to attract people in a decent number. There was--and he had created a small, new drug of sorts. Taking the body of a greasy teen who had been with some troublesome people, the alien had gone around the outer district and spoke to the few that dared to exit their shanties, offering them a new kind of drug. It was a very thin strain of the corrodium, you see, but they didn't know any better. All they knew was that it got them their 'high', all the while slowly (and painfully), killing them.

But where would the fun be in letting them overdose on a horrendous chemically altered drug, when they could be purged for such temptations by a noble man of the law?

With the fresh sea air hitting the thick, black hoody the withered teen wore, Zs'Skayr stepped onto the docks and sat upon a bench, a lantern lighting him up. A cigarette was lit, and for a few moments, it seemed very calm and serene. There was no sound around him; only the waves and breeze to keep the area from a dead silence. A calm feeling, but it was short lived, as a shaky, weak looking man approached the teen, clutching his shoulder and quickly speaking. "H-hey you! You're the one with... that stuff, right...?" he asked, his grip upon the shoulder tightening.

Zs'Skayr hissed, but merely took the cigarette from his mouth and smashed it into the man's hand, burning it. "Do not touch me," he growled as he stood up, adjusting his hoodie. "OW! JEEZ! I just wanted to know, man! Do you have it or not? I got 3 others waiting for this shit!" "Patience. My 'supplier' will be around soon... take me to the others, and make sure you have the cash, yes?" The sickly man nodded and began to lead Zs'Skayr behind a small bait shop where, sure enough, three others waited. All in the late teens, and all sickly from the infection that was slowly killing their bodies. Zs'Skayr grinned at their poor state, but it disappeared quickly.

"Good, my supplier will be here soon. You all just wait and relax, enjoy the night air, and soon, you'll be getting what you came here for." With this said, Zs'Skayr sent out a mental link--one that would surely attract a certain Judge's attention.

I have five sinners for you, Fear. Out at the docks, behind a bait shop. They are waiting for a drug dealer, just as before. It might get boring, but hey, they were the easiest to get, and also the most abundant at the moment. Plus, these people were too sick to fight back... or at least, for long. This would also be a good place to discuss the corrodium, too... I also have another surprise after you've dealt with this sickening sinners. One that could be worth your time.

With that sent, Zs'Skayr looked over the four individuals closely and carefully.

A faithful helper of the law, that Zs'Skayr.

Chains lightly rattled in the foggy dark as a set of glowing eyes pierced the veil. Ah, there they were... Five sickly mortals awaiting a judgement most kind. It was indeed a pity that disciples of justice had to resort to such belittling measures, but Portal Breach simply didn't give much leeway.

Look at the fools, huddling there in the bitter cold for their iniquitous fix... Their addiction will surely consume their very souls if someone did not intervene. Fortunately for them, the "doctors" were happily on their way. There was the soft pat, pat, pat of leathery heels as Judge Fear walked upon the dock, his silhouette becoming more pronounced within the salty haze. Each confident step drew him closer to purging these sinners and their unseemly life choices. Rotten fingers outstretched and he barred any conventional means of escape. "Greetingsss, sssinnersss," came that bass hiss. It rolled over the gentle waves like thunder, echoing within any nearby unprotected minds.

"I sssee you are currently looking for your next high. You're in luck, asss we have brought you a fresssh batch of sssuppliesss." Such effortless lies. Looking over his armoured shoulder, the ghoul addressed a pair of new shapes lurking within the fog. "Mortisss, K.A.R.R.; bring thessse poor individualsss their jussst duesss. We wouldn't want them dying without a sssatisssfied sssmile upon their facesss."

And this group will be plenty satisfied once the Dark Judges were done with them.

Idling quietly at the side of the shop, the thick morning mists did wonders in blending with his two-toned color scheme. not a single light, save for the ever pacing yellow scan bar upon his nose, could be detected. Interior functions were blocked from emitting their colorful glow as his windows were tinted a solid black. Out of sight from the gathering group of drug addicts, he scanned the area for any who may try to interfere to find... It was pleasantly dead of activity. Many were asleep, resting after a long day of work, the only few that stayed up to this hour were busied with personal matters instead of window watching. Not that much could be seen anyway with all this dense fog.

Standing alongside his passenger door was Mortis, the tall ghoul ever quiet. Listening attentively to the discussion going on behind the bait-shop, it was only when  Fear had announced it time to reveal themselves that he began to roll forward and turn the corner of the wooden building to face the five unfortunate humans. Look at them all. His scans alone from earlier deduced that their vital systems were incredibly weak from whatever Zs'skayr was giving them, the chemical compounds that he detected were not similar to anything in his databanks. Possibly a short sprint would send them into cardiac arrest, or even a rough tap from his bumper. Not that he complained, a weak victim was an easy victim.

Alongside Mortis he stalked, the yellow light upon his nose cutting through the fog as it paced slowly, thoughtfully. Easily he could take out the whole group, albeit loudly. No, the Judges could handle a nice few while he took care of a couple sinners of his own. His optics rested on two especially emaciated specimens within the sickly herd, infected and too weak to give much of a challenge. Like a ghost he suddenly lurched forth from the mist, the tell-tale whine of his engine absent as he descended upon the two hapless teens like a metallic beast. Brittle bone was nothing to the vehicle's armored plating, splashes of red and shards of white soon to be added to the shroud of misty night that covered the docks.

From the shadows and fog a towering, emaciated form shambled forth alongside the two-toned vehicle. He too had heard Fear's command loud and clear. "Greetingsss, sssinnersss." He hissed, flexing his talons as he approached, "We have come to sssupply you with judgement." Only the best for their customers.

KARR eagerly raced headlong into two of the teens, although for their emaciated states they were apparently not as sluggish as one would suspect. The massive vehicle missed both of his twiggy targets completely, fog rolling in behind the vehicle's bumper. Five stood around, now likely panicked and their hearts already racing to dangerous levels. They fluttered in their breasts like caged, terrified birds... Just one small squeeze and they would succumb to the already hefty tax their diseased bodies had to pay. It was enough to bring a gladly ecstatic hiss from the rotting Judge. With a creak of his bony neck, Judge Mortis' sockets rested upon one of the teens. "You," He rasped, stalking closer. "Come clossser, sssinner. I have jussst the high you need."

Suddenly he lunged forward, both claws outstretched to curl around the drug addict's throat in a vice grip. As Mortis' claws sank into the boy's pustule infested skin, the emaciated teen would find his skin grow tight and wither, becoming paper thin before rot turned what remained green and ate away rancid holes into his flesh. All the while his sheep-skulled attacker stared at him unwaveringly, the ghoul's voice seeming to emanate within his mind as he spoke. "Your sssentence isss death."

    Touch of Mortis (decay!):

--Mortis' hands are grotesquely decayed, with long yellowed claws curling from their tips. The flesh had greened and started to split apart long ago, tight upon the musculature and tendons beneath.

Along with being gristly to behold, Judge Mortis' claws are quite fearsome, decaying anything they touch, whether it be flesh, metal or any other perishable item or structure.

It would've been a fine show, had the teenagers not ran from KARR.

The two were sickly, but still spry enough to get out of the car's way as it tried its best to ram them. They fell to the ground and attempted to get up, but the sudden action caused vertigo and panic. They were merely rolling on the ground, their hands clutching their heads, as they screamed inaudible things that made no sense to anyone. The teens were all sickly looking, black within their veins showing through their thin skin, as their poison tore at them from the inside.

Mortis' victim was less sickly than the rest, but he still had the substance within him, and made it difficult to fight back for long periods of time. This was evidenced as the teen tried to fight back, but failed as the Judge grabbed him and began to do the work he so lovingly did. As the skin decayed, the black liquid within the teenager's body fell out, and would burn what was left of Mortis' flesh upon his hands and arms. The stench... it didn't matter, no one here could smell and those who could would be dead soon, anyway. It was a strange mixture of chemicals, however, and luckily for the Judges, they were not human.

The other teenager who had been speaking to a disguised Zs'Skayr was on the ground, clutching his chest in pain. It wasn't a heart-attack, but it was close, more of an extreme panic attack, and he grabbed Zs'Skayr's pant-leg, tugging it for attention as he gasped for air, "W-What are you doing, man?! This wasn't p-part of the deal!"

"Deals change. Cope with the circumstances." Zs'Skayr didn't even bother to look down at the sickly addict and abruptly kicked the man in the jaw, teeth flying as he fell backwards and curled into a ball to cope with the pain. "Disgusting, weak humans..." he hissed under his breath as he watched the three have their fun. The real reason for their gathering was close by and would be shown after their little tussle, but for now, he merely leaned against a barrel and watched.

"Ugh... You..." the man tried to speak, but Zs'Skayr would have none of it, and he abruptly hoisted him up and threw him across the ground over near Mortis. "I'd rip out his tongue but... I don't know what's been in his mouth, so please, be my guest." No need to get his hands filthy. The alien would take care of his body once everyone else was dead just to make things easier. Good thing they were already near water, huh? "Do make it quick, we've other things to discuss on this eve."

You can't have a purging thread without a spectacular round of misses from K.A.R.R.!

In the back of the ensuing mayhem loomed a silent Judge Fear and this suited his purposes just fine. Ghostly eyes observed what pulsed within the sinners' veins, mildly interested as to what corrosive element turned one's blood an inky black; this was no doubt the subject of discussion that Zs'Skayr had summoned them for. "All in due time," a bass hiss reached the ghost-creature's ears. A chain, its links thick and weighty, was soon flaunted within the Dark Judge's rotten hands. He gave it a firm snap and let its metallic twang echo across the beach. "Firssst thingsss firssst, however." These sinners need a healthy dose of justice. But, interestingly, not a shot of Judge Mortis' justice special.

Whirling his chain up high with an eager mantrap at its end, Judge Fear set his sadistic sights on the sinner only known as Red Lipstick. "Fret not," he addressed the sinner from afar. "We ssshall sssee to your needsss in a professsional and timely manner. Rejoice, sssinner, for you are sssoon to be sssaved from your criminal vicesss!" And then the chain was released, the toothy mantrap agape for a bite of the woman's tender flesh.

    SNAP!

The two teenagers KARR had targeted jumped away at his oncoming form, mist rolling past in his after wind. As they fell, the AI's scanners took note of a rather interesting side effect of this mysterious drug. Whatever was within it made the user show signs of vertigo. Hands clutching their heads in likely a pained disorientation, the duo were forced into a vulnerable state as they rolled helplessly upon the ground. The blackened veins were also a rather odd side effect of this particular substance, prompting the two-toned Trans-Am to save a few images for future reference along with committing their behavior to his databanks. If Zs'skayr ever revealed just what he had given the group of youths

Throwing himself into a harsh turn, KARR brought himself to face the two and found the circumstance to be somewhat familiar. Had it not been two drugged teens, the ruthless AI could have caught a small glimpse of a similarity between this and the day he had nearly killed Michael Knight. Unlike then, his system power was at optimal charge, there was no KITT to stand in the way, and these humans were significantly disabled from their excessive drug use. At the same time, the AI held a small inkling of longing for it to be that impetuous pilot laying there in dazed agony instead of this diseased fools. Alas, while revenge was sweet to ponder, freedom was far sweeter. While he may not have been interested in waking up the whole seaside town for the sake of four wayward teens, it appeared they had other plans.

The one nearest to Zs'skayr yelled out in disbelief at the doublecross, his outburst rewarded with being tossed in the direction of Judge Mortis while he was busy decaying another of the duo's 'sinners'. Speaking of which, it appeared that blood had a corrosive property to it, eating away at the undead Judge's decaying flesh. Perhaps it was for the best then that he failed to strike the two, who knew what that liquid could have done to his plating and his circuitry if it managed to eat through. Filing that detail away and annoyed that the ghostly creature did not delve into what exactly was in the drug he had given the group now that its nastier effects were known, KARR backed a good distance away from the two he had targeted. For caution's sake, of course.

With the teens on the ground and disoriented, it made his targeting all the more easier. His laser warmed and boasting a full charge, he locked onto the both of them and fired three neon green strafes of energy right into their drug addled brains.

Engineered with “double the penetration", it has been shown to be able to burn through reinforced concrete and even MBS coating.

What in the name of all that was undead!?

"SSSSS!" Mortis immediately relinquished his grip upon the dead eyed teen, the ghoul's skin bubbling and eroding with a sickening crackle as flesh was eaten down to nearly  his very bones. His uniform did not suffer the concoction well either, as leather crackled loudly at the toxin's destructive hunger. Putrid smoke rose from his wounds, a mingled scent of potent acid and decay thick upon the fumes. "Do you think it to be entertaining in not informing usss of the more destructive effectsss of your experimentsss?" Judge Mortis snarled, not in the least bit amused that his vessel's hands were being burned away by the toxic sludge that burned in his sinner's veins.  He turned away from the half decayed teen and faced the specter who so nonchalantly stood next to the bait shop. "Usable hossstss and dead fluidssss are not commoditiesss that are easssily happened upon, Zsss'ssskayr. You would do well to give sssome forewarning if you wisssh for our partnerssship to thrive." Defacing the uniform of a Judge of the Law was a serious offense, Zs'skayr, regardless of one being dead or alive. As was willfully endangering their hosts.

Could he have deduced such an effect of whatever drug Zs'skayr had given them with a mind scan? Perhaps, but with how muddled and drugged these adolescents were, he would be lucky to get anything coherent from them at his current strength. Not to mention such an odd blood makeup had taken Fear off guard as well, for he had failed to warn Judge Mortis before his claws had gripped the boy's neck. Unlike KARR and his brother, Mortis was not the kind to take projectile weaponry with him. No mantraps graced his bony hips, and whatever was held within his utility belt had long since expired beyond usefulness.

"Sssss..." Satisfied with his chastising, the Dark Judge turned back around to face the dead-eyed teen. No longer would he use his righteous claws to do the good work, instead he was forced to take more taxing measures. A strong, psychic tendril lashed out into the teen's mind, constricting and worming its way down into his very infected being. Soon the drugged sinner would find his arms and legs no longer operated to his whim as an unknown, sickly force overtook his body.

Weak, but still a viable connection, the teen would find his legs moving of their own accord, directing him onot the sandy beach and into the lapping waves of the evening tide. Deeper and deeper he walked, until the salty waves overtook his face and threatened to fill his lungs.

If he could not rot the boy, Mortis gladly opted for drowning instead.
