"Good! I like it too." Ttone said shutting the book and then offering it to mortis. "You can borrow it if you want, there's also a movie here in the library. " It was fairly old and recorded on a tape, Mortis would need a vcr in order to play it. But the animation was pretty! Sure it was a little weird looking in places, and the songs were absolutely horrible, but it was a fairly enjoyable experience. Ttone had rented nearly five times!

Still, if you watched it Mortis, good luck getting the song "Sunshine Fields" out of your head.

"Here we are in sunshine fields!
Come and and join the fun~
We'll laugh and dance and play all day
And roll around in the sun~!"

Que the really annoying recorder bit and you had an ear worm that would have you humming it the rest of the day. Tally could attest to that. Speaking of Ttones curly haired guardian, she had finally arrive at the library looking for her charge. Not finding her in the childrens' section Tally began to look around for her in the other parts of the library.

Of course she liked it too, the girl would not have offered to read the story if she did not enjoy the story. Nor would she have held it in her mind as a favorite of hers, a book that she regularly sought out to peruse and read over and over. That was not the only thing she seemed to hold in high regard. As his skull tilted down to note she was pushing the book towards him, Ttone mentioned the existence of a movie adaption of the picture book.

    Hm, that successful.

Even so, the Judge gave a small shake of his head at her offer, though his claws gently accepted the book. "Yessss, thank you."[/color] He hissed. "I am not one for cartoonsss, however, but it wasss quite... polite of you to offer." Inwardly however, the ghoul's thoughts were nearly screaming for him to go and purge this little sinner before she grew anymore unlawful. After all, she had already eaten up his time that should have been spent researching, or at least part of it. The book, once in his possession was placed with the others, next to the stack of material devoted to sciences and tactics.

However, the Dark Judge's attention piqued as he noted the thoughts of one that was familiar. Curly brown locks of hair, freckles dotting her face, and the ever present notion of a certain name, a youthful face that mirrored the one sitting right in front of him.

    Stevens.

Should the swordswoman find him sitting with her daughter, he already knew it would turn problematic. She would warn the child and all would go ill with any attempt at getting information. Already her search had come up bare in the children's section, searchying eyes roving about the shelves of books as she continued to look for the perky little spawn. Quickly, the towering Judge thought upon this, and just as quickly came up with a solution.  "I believe I sssaw your mother come in jussst now." He quietly rasped, before the child could ask he waved a hand and explained, "We have met before elsssewhere, your mother and I. ssshort woman, brown hair with curlsss correct?" He advised evenly. Certainly Ttone did not want her mother getting in a fight with her new friend, did she? After all, the Judge made for such a nice reading buddy.

"You ssshould go on and find her." He added with a nod of his bony skull. Of course, the ghoul was wise to probe one psychic tendril into the child's mind once more when she ran off. He did not do much, only give a small stir to make his form fuzzy in her memory when she undoubtedly told her mother of the afternoon she had with the Dark Judge. The only things that would stick out were his tall, lanky form, along with an odd smell that clung to him like a shroud.

"You're welcome!" She beamed, watching happily as Mortis accepted the book. How very sad though, that Mr. Mortis wasn't interested in cartoons, the movie was great! "You're welcome again." Ttone said, smile growing on her face, radiating positivity despite the danger that was looming over her head. Her beaming finally came to an end as Mortis mentioned her guardian, making Ttone look around for Tally.

Mr. Mortis wrote:"I believe I sssaw your mother come in jussst now. We have met before elsssewhere, your mother and I. ssshort woman, brown hair with curlsss correct?"

Ttone nodded, "Yep! That's her!" The little girl stopping short just before she corrected Mortis on their relationship. "Alright, i'll go and find her. Have a nice day Mr. Mortis!" Sliding off of her chair and collecting her things Ttone waved goodbye to the Sheep man and left him to his smelly corner, his face already blurring in her mind as she rounded the corner.

Concern grew fast inside Tally as her search for her charge continued to prove fruitless, concern which quickly evaporated as she caught sight of Ttone in the next second, rounding the corner of one of the shelves. "There you are," she said, tension easing from her shoulders. "Where were you?"

Ttone came to stop in front of her guardian and smiled, taking Tally's hand as she did. "Reading with a friend, I've got a book!" The two moved on, Ttone talking about her day as they went to check the book out, soon they were gone.

Ugh, look at her. Beaming with absolute joy over a book and his acceptance of it. One of his grotesque claws twitched, all too eager to snuff out the girl's life with a single swipe. Alas, such action could not be done, this was neither the proper place nor the proper time to do so. He needed to gather information, which was impeded so long as the girl sat there, grinning from ear to ear. Disturbing a Judge from his duties was yet another charge to be added to her already lengthening list, one sentence fitting enough to fix her behavior and one only.

If only this place was not under constant watch by those accursed ISO's...

Regardless, the Judge knew better than to drop his tone, lest his informant be less willing to met him later on. "Yesss, good day to you asss well, child." Mortis rasped, watching as she walked off around the corner before he returned his gaze to the pile of books upon his table. Her absence could have occured soon enough, as the ghoul was left to read in peace once again.

He moved the magazine he had perused through earlier off to the side, the children's book within his claws soon being placed to rest upon it. His senses briefly turned to the distant conversation between Ttone and her mother, from the sounds of it, his tampering had worked. Good, for the last thing the ghoul wished for was the curly haired woman to lecture her daughter about her choice in reading buddies. As the sounds of quiet conversation died down in the distance of the library, Judge Mortis looked to the heavy stack of texts sitting to his right. Their pages yet to be flipped through and studied.

Quietly he reached over to the one at the top of the stack, a thick tome reading The Art of War and Diseases, Germs and Viruses. His skull swiveled around behind him and glanced up at the clock hanging upon the wall. The hands clearly pointed to display the time.

    1:45 PM

His talk with the sinner child lasted fifteen minutes.

Not exactly bad, although he swore it lasted far longer. Not to mention he would have rather used it reading the books he had picked out. Alas, such distractions were inevitable, although he usually was more familiar with dispatching said distractions instead of allowing them to exist. He brought the book to rest in front of him, the spine creaking as he opened it to the first chapter.
