Unable to suppress a soft laugh at Leaf's admission of defeat and Impa's subsequent affectionate gesture, Sheik soon found that the older Link had rejoined Link and himself. Nodding to echo Neri's greeting, he added a quick, "Hey!" As soon as the piglet had got settled inside his swim ring again, the disguised prince let the inflatable device go, soon bending his knees so that he was lower in the water and thus in better proximity to his two best friends. Before too long, Impa had rejoined them, and after a good round of conversation, they were right back to this epic bout of playing in the water.

Between all of their swimming, splashing, and general horseplay, the three transformed Hylians and their guardian worked up a very hearty appetite. They had anticipated such given their own love of food and what they had learned on previous beach trips, but even with their changed forms, they were all just as ready for lunch. As much as they might have wanted to stay in the surf for a while longer, they knew that around enjoying their meal, they could have lots of fun on the beach itself before returning to the water a bit later.

"That was fantastic," mused Sheik, grinning broadly as he made sure that Link and Link were able to exit the water safely. With a quick shake of his head to try and dry it off a little more, he kept pace with his two friends as Impa went on ahead, soon using some of her own fire magic to prepare a bottle of hot water for herself. Although Leaf was their designated fire fairy for warming up most of their bottles of water, the four Hyruleans were still lucky in that they could still heat up their own bottles if the Spirit of Power was not around. Sheik and Impa were able to still use fire magic regardless as to which form they were in, and Link and Link were able to utilize it somewhat, although their most reliable method was still to focus on fire arrows and the like.

Once Impa had changed back from her panda form, the three kids had caught up to her, at which point Sheik nodded to his guardian to welcome her back to her true self. Moving to pick up two more bottles of water they had prepared earlier, the disguised prince held them out for Leaf with a smile, soon nodding to the Sheikah's suggestion regarding their next move. "That sounds great, Impa! Although I might stay like this for now… I'd kind of like to enjoy the beach as a boy for a little while." He fully planned to change back later, but for right now, Sheik felt that he had built up enough confidence in his cursed form to spend more time in it, and more time in it in a setting such as this where he might finally be able to enjoy the warm sun on his back.

Once Leaf had heated up the two bottles of water, Sheik gave him a grateful nod, punctuated with a happy, "Thanks." At that, he turned to Link and Link, making sure that his two best friends were set before he carefully poured the bottles of hot water out over their heads. "All right, here you go!"

Tatl, much like Link, was not at all surprised that Impa had won this mock battle, much less that Leaf decided to surrender instead of put up either a real or fake struggle, but she was a little intrigued over just how calm the Spirit of Power was. She had a strong feeling that Leaf was likely just as excited over getting to witness some of Impa's might firsthand as he was over the fun of the playful combat, and even more that he was not disappointed at all in the result. Still, it was amusing for both her and her partner to see Impa move to rub the top of the red fairy's glow… and whilst Tatl figured that was just what he needed, Link hoped that Leaf would not mind that display too much.

Laughing happily as his older nametwin moved to rejoin Sheik and himself, Link nodded a greeting to the piglet before he swam underwater and back into his own swim ring. Now that they were both settled in their swim rings, they took a chance to simply relax for a few minutes before they began to swim and play even more. Before they knew it, a couple of hours had passed, and they were all starting to feel more than ready for a delicious lunch.

Although Link and Link were fully capable of exiting the water on their own, the Hero of Time was still grateful to see both Impa and Sheik lingering to make sure that they did so without issue. As soon as they were set back on the beach, Impa went on ahead to start to get things prepared for them, just as Link tried his best to shake any excess water off of his furry body. With a glance to the Hero of Winds to make sure he was all right as well, Link looked up to Sheik with a smile, and the three of them returned to their staked claim in the sand. It was interesting moving across this expanse of the beach in his rabbit form, but it was not difficult much less bad. As Link had expected, the beach appeared to be much larger to him now, and no matter which form he was in for any of their time spent out of the water, he was determined to make the most of this day.

Nodding along with Sheik at Impa's suggestion, Link found himself especially excited for their impending meal. However, before he could do much more than hum his own agreement, he blinked at Sheik's other statement, inwardly feeling the slightest bit confused over why she, well… he might want to remain as a boy for the time being. He supposed that since the prince was already disguised as a boy, today gave him an even better chance to take advantage of his curse, and that stood regardless of the fact that they were on an isolated stretch of beach. Thinking on it a bit more, Link felt he understood where his best friend was coming from, and he just hoped that everything would remain all right and not too awkward for him.

As for Link himself, as much as he did not mind his rabbit form, he was very ready to change back, and as soon as he and Link indicated that they were ready to Sheik, they both found refreshing hot water cascading over their heads. "Bwa!" In an instant, Link had transformed back to himself, and his found his viewpoint once more just a few inches below Sheik's instead of well below his knees. Smiling to the disguised prince and giving him a grateful nod, Link said, "Thanks. Let's go ahead and help set things out now!"

Okay, if Leaf had to rank what were the coolest things to happen today at the beach, he would rank being petted by a panda bear as number one. And this rank would only be toppled by something like being allowed to light a giant bonfire on the sand, which was highly unlikely because it was both dangerous and he was sure he would not get the approval from anybody except his own Link (who everyone knew had a secret fascination for controlled destruction as long as it harmed nobody nor thing)

They all went on to enjoy more time in the water and a few more mock battles in the water allowed the Spirit of Power to emerge victorious in at least one pretend fight. There were tons of swimming, splashing and diving throughout the next few hours and time passed so quickly that before they knew it, they were starving.

They followed Impa back to shore and as their guardian went on ahead to change back first alongside prepare things, the younger boys stayed behind to take their time getting out of the water. Like his nametwin, the piglet of the three boys immediately started shaking water off his body once he was out, mindful not to splatter the water onto the other Link. He was sure dealing with fur was harder to shake clear of water already without having to deal with more water droplets.

With a nod to both kids, he trotted along after Sheik until they got their way back to their things, where Leaf was very happy to volunteer his services in water heating. The fairy cast his magic and soon Sheik was turning round with two bottles of hot water.

The transformed piglet took a moment to look down on himself and heaved a great big sigh. There was one downside with being short and walking on all fours. You got sand all over your belly and the lower half of your face. So, to maximise use of the water, Link sat back on his tail, looked up, closed his eyes and lifted his front hooves to the sky, hoping that the cascade of water will wash most of the sand off him.

“Bwa!” he gasped then shook his hair with a “Brrrbb.”

He checked his hand and touched his face. Good, most of the sand was off. He nodded his thanks to Sheik, then dove into helping prepare for their feast. Foooood!

Impa was not at all surprised that Link and Link had been able to haul themselves out of the surf with too much effort, but even so, she had still been glad that she and Sheik had lingered to help make sure of that. Once they were out and set though, the Sheikah was not at all surprised that her three charges took just a bit more time to fully exit the water; it was rather fun to take ones time with that, after all. Sheik had been more than helpful in the way that he took the chance to lift up the swim rings for the two currently smaller boys, and before she herself set on ahead of them, Impa in turn moved to take those from her charge. Once they were set down and she had transformed back, they had all gathered round, and their spot on the beach was about to become even more their own.

With Impa, Link, and Link changed back and Sheik starting to dry off further, the four Hyruleans made quick work of setting up everything they needed for lunch. With practiced proficiency, Impa deftly set out the meats, cheeses, breads, and condiments they had packed for their nice lunch of sandwiches, and as soon as everything else was prepared, she looked to the three boys, noting, "All right then, that looks perfect... thank you all very much. You three go on ahead and serve yourselves first." Moving to hand each of them a plate, the Sheikah held onto her own, soon folding her arms as she watched them set about building their impressive sandwiches.

Once the three of them had got their plates ready complete with chips and drinks on the side, Impa moved to build herself a sizable sandwich consisting of roast beef, cheddar cheese, and some horseradish. With her meal set, the Sheikah took her chance to sit down by her three charges, giving each of them a broad smile before she noted, "I know that we had all planned today for a little while now, but I must say… regardless of our curses, this is definitely one of our finest beach trips yet." At that, she took a big bite of her sandwich, savoring the flavor as they began to enjoy their meal and replenish their energy. The day was still young, and Impa had a strong feeling that their fun was only going to increase from here.

As Sheik prepared to pour the bottles of water over his two best friends, he did not fail to notice the position that the older Link took up to help better rinse most of the sand off of himself. With a soft chuckle, he tipped the bottles over, soon finding Link and Link standing closer to his height once more, glad to see that they were both faring well now that they had returned to their true forms. Returning their grateful nods with a pleased one of his own, he stated, "Welcome back." The two shorter boys might still have a bit more time before they were dry once more, but given his own quick drying nature, Sheik had already dried off completely from the time it took them to walk from the surf to their spot. It was a trait they all shared and as ever one he was glad to have, and that much stood long before any of them had been cursed.

Sheik, Link, and Link made quick work of their own task of helping get their chips and drinks ready, and by the time they had got everything set, Impa had prepared a fantastic spread so that they could all build their sandwiches just as they wished. As their guardian noted that they had done their own part quite well before telling each of them to go first, Sheik nodded to her, noting, "All right, thank you! And thanks for helping set out the sandwich items." Taking the plate that Impa offered to him, Sheik's smile only brightened before he glanced to Link and Link. In turn, the three boys set about getting their own sandwiches set, the disguised prince opting for one made of deli chicken, cheddar cheese, a good mix of herbs, and barbecue sauce. Each of their current sandwiches looked delicious, and they had plenty more cuts to make more as they needed.

As soon as the three kids had prepared their sandwiches and taken their seats, Sheik perked up at Impa's words before breaking into a broad grin. With a stung nod, he agreed, "I think you're right, Impa. It's been really fun so far, and I think we chose a perfect day to come out here." If their morning had been this enjoyable, then he could hardly wait to see what a time they would have for the rest of the afternoon, both on the beach itself as well as back in the water. Taking a hearty bite of his own sandwich, Sheik exchanged a happy glance with his two best friends as they all dove into their lunch together.

Link was definitely appreciative of his nametwin's effort not to shake too much water onto him himself, as although his fast drying nature had thankfully carried through even in his cursed form, and even though fur was not quite as hard to contend with as he'd thought it might be, he did not want to deal with extra water if he didn't have to. Luckily, his own lapine stature helped him return to their spot on the beach without getting too much sand all over himself. He had taken a few steps in a bipedal stance, but being able to hop and walk on all fours had helped him better position himself above even the dryer sand that threatened to tag along with him. The good splash of hot water to change him back to his true form helped take care of any of the lingering sand that had gotten on him, and as he and Link shook their heads to clear them of excess water, they were set to jump on Impa's request.

In short order, not only had their guardian got everything set for their sandwiches, the three kids had also prepared the bags of chips for each of them to choose from, as well as got nice, cool drinks set up around their spot. Grinning at Impa's thanks and her handing each of them a plate, Link gave her a strong nod at her insistence for them to go ahead and serve their plates first. "Yes, thank you!" None of them really minded who went first, but seeing as how they had all worked up a respectable appetite, it was nice to be able to get right to lunch without any trouble. Maneuvering around his two best friends as they all built their sandwiches and got a healthy serving of chips on their plates, Link had soon made himself a ham and cheddar cheese sandwich complete with some of the herbs that they had brought along. With his chips served and the four of them with full plates, they all sat down and were ready to dig in.

Tatl could not help but be amused at the added sense of normalcy that this meal preparation provided, and she had to agree with Impa's assessment of the day so far. Save the forms they took in the water and the antics they had around them, this was hardly any different from their other beach trips, and especially once they had managed to calm Neri's nerves, it had been super fun.

Nodding in agreement with Impa and Sheik's sentiments, Link took a big bite of his sandwich before chewing and swallowing it. "We definitely did! I know that it would be nice to choose which forms we take in the water, but at least for me, this has added a new level of fun to have out here." He truly did hope that they would find the cure to their curses sooner rather than later, but today more than ever was helping to prove that they really weren't that bad. They were making the best of them, and before the day was out, he was sure that they would have figured out even more ways to take advantage of the involuntary forms that they took when splashed. "Ha-ha, I think that will hold true on the beach as well as in the water."

Once his plate was in hand, Link’s stomach gave an audible rumble. Wow, whilst he had felt hungry before, now it suddenly felt like he was starving! He grinned sheepishly and quickly started on constructing the perfect sandwich for his stomach right now. Herbs, chicken, cheese, ham, lots of butter, a bit more cheese and last but not least, a few of the flattest and biggest chips on his plate for that extra savoury crunch per bite.

When all of them had their meal set and was seated to enjoy it, Link returned Impa’s smile with a big happy grin of his own and joined his nametwin in the silent agreement to Sheik and Impa’s words. They may have been worried about their curses at the start, but as time went by, they kept discovering new and exciting things to do with them and today was no different. It was a great sensation to swim and play in the sea in his cursed form and Link felt like they could do anything with them now. Which meant that come the day when they have to work towards freeing themselves of their curses, they would have more than enough experience to fight and work both in their normal forms and in their cursed.

“Yes, it is one of our best beach trips!” echoed Leaf loudly. The Spirit of Power almost wanted to suggest that they could make it even better by starting a bonfire and making it huge, but that was asking for Tatl to give him a disapproving look so he wisely kept his thoughts to himself.

Once lunch was over and they had rested long enough, Link waved as if suggesting they head back into the water. He then grabbed one of their bodyboards and held it up high

“You want to try going on one of those as a piglet?”

    “Aa!” Link nodded.

“I’m not sure… you would need bigger waves, wouldn’t you? Do you think you can swim against those waves as a piglet?” Neri voiced worriedly, looking out to sea. They had been staying mostly in the calmer areas of the beach so far and her worries were settled if they stayed there, but if Link wanted to venture further…

Link wrinkled his nose at the very thought that anybody would doubt his ability to swim in bodyboarding waters. He had been in the water during stomach churning storms. This would be nothing…. Or so he thought before a flicker of curiosity came to mind. Well, a piglet was a lot smaller…. Nah, he will be fine.

With thanks and nods distributed between them, in short order, the Hyruleans were set to enjoy their beachside lunch together. Impa was admittedly pleased to see the array of sandwiches that the four of them had meticulously cobbled together, and she was also rather happy to hear the chorus of agreement regarding the state of their day out so far. They had only been out here for a few hours, but it was already a fantastic time, and she knew that they were set to have even more fun.

The four took their time fully savoring their lunches, complete with sandwiches, chips, and even some cookies, and even once they had all had their fill, they were set to relax for a good bit longer on the sand. As much as they all loved enjoying the waves and even considering their collective impressive staminas, they all valued taking breaks when they were able to, and that mindset only helped to augment their days out like this.

After some more downtime, Link was the first to suggest having everyone return to the water. No sooner could any of them respond though than had the Hero of Winds lifted a bodyboard as though to show that he was set to utilize that as well once he had splashed back in the sea. Whilst Ciela was quick to question him, Neri was just as quick to voice her concern. Chuffing a bit and before smiling softly to Link, Impa stated, "You might not be able to use it for surfing considering the way that this stretch of beach is, but you could certainly sit on top of it. If nothing else, Sheik or I could help make sure that you get it out to our spot again, and then help you get on top of it. How does that sound?"

Although Sheik had opted to rest on the beach as a boy instead a girl, their shared lunchtime was no less enjoyable. He had been doing his best to get even more used to his curse than he already had, which given the overall similarities between boys and girls, that had been a surprisingly easy task. His own youth certainly contributed to that, and being able to spend some voluntary time in his cursed form helped out for whenever he was splashed with the others but unable to change back for fear of causing questions to arise given his own requests to be splashed with hot water. In the end, whilst he did prefer his true form, this was still comfortable, but no matter which gender he was at the moment, he was just happy to have this nice meal with his family.

As they all enjoyed their meals and relaxed conversation, the sun continued to keep them ever warmer. By the end of their lunch and the biggest part of their resting up, Link was the first to suggest that they head back to the water. Sheik exchanged a grin with the younger Link, all too happy to go along with this idea, but before they returned to the surf, there was something else he wanted to take care of. "That sounds great, Link! First though… I'd kind of like to join you and uh… enjoy the warm sun on my back."

At that, before any of his nerves could flare up too strongly, Sheik gripped the edges of his Zora tunic before carefully sliding it off, letting out a sigh as he pulled it over his head, now able to truly enjoy the beach as a boy for the first time. Even before he had acquired his current curse, Sheik had wished to be able to treat his tunic as more of an option at times, but today… he could actually do that. Private beach or not, he was able to experience the beach as a boy… and it felt surprisingly comfortable. It was not something he always wanted to have, but he was definitely happy to get to enjoy this today.

Catching an inquisitive look from Impa, followed up by a reassuring nod and smile, Sheik smiled a little sheepishly to his guardian before glancing to Link and Link. He'd mentioned this idea in the briefest of passing before, but hopefully neither of them would find it too awkward. He did feel the slightest bit shy about it, but as ever, he pressed on ahead, and he was already glad for it.

Grinning as Link got his bodyboard ready, Sheik chuckled at Neri's questions before nodding along with Impa's wise suggestion. "That's a good idea. I could help get the board and you out to the surf before helping set you on it if you'd like."

Post by Link64 on Wed Sep 16, 2015 2:01 pm

The only thing that Link enjoyed more than his filling lunch was the fact that he got to share the meal with his family. Hanging out on the beach was always a fantastic time, and eating whilst enjoying the ocean breeze was definitely a highlight of any vista out here. Much like his nametwin and the disguised prince, Link readily devoured his sandwich, and they all made short work of their first round of food for the day.

As they continued to eat, relax after eating, and simply enjoy the sun on the beach, Link felt himself itching to get back into the water soon. He knew he would transform of course, but the morning had already proven that swimming in the ocean was just as fun as ever even with their involuntary transformations. The older Link might have very well read his mind with the timing of his own suggestion for them to return to the surf, and the younger boy could not help but grin and chuckle happily. Meeting Sheik's grin with his own, Link nodded strongly to accent his agreement with the idea of hopping back in the water. "Yeah! I'm ready to go swimming again!"

Before the Hero of Time could voice much more though, he blinked a bit at what Sheik said next. Being able to enjoy the warm sun on his back… well, that was technically something they all got to do at the beach– … oh…. yeah. That was right… Sheik usually couldn't experience that outright because on any given day out to the beach, she had to wear her Zora tunic even more out of necessity for her disguise than just the chance of added fun underwater. Granted, with some of the private beaches that they liked to frequent, she had previously voiced to them that she could likely get away with wearing a more feminine swimsuit, but as ever, she was consistent in her disguise. Link fully respected and admired her for that, the same as he did her for wanting to take the chance to take advantage of her curse in yet another way.

Still, whilst Link could not help but blush the slightest bit as he realized just what Sheik had in mind, he did recall her previous mentions of it. His blush lingered as Sheik pulled off his tunic, but once he could see his face again, he shifted his gaze from a quick, curious glance to a keen focus on his red eyes. "Eh-heh… I hope you enjoy more of the sun, Sheik," noted Link as he met his best friend with a confident smile. Girl or boy, she was Sheik… she was Zelda. And even if she was technically a he right now, nothing was different.

Tatl herself was a little surprised, but by the exact same token, she wasn't. She knew very well by now that each of them had been taking chances to take advantage of their curses. After all, regardless of her having seen how Link did that with his transformations back in Termina, it made perfect sense with these involuntary changes. Taking advantage of them helped you get through them, and with as tomboyish as the princess was regardless of her disguise, this was yet another great chance for Sheik. Hopefully Neri wouldn't freak out too much… and hopefully Leaf would avoid saying anything exceptionally stupid. Ciela was likely in the same camp as her… supportive and essentially unaffected. Really, a girl who was temporarily a boy taking off her tunic was hardly anything compared to the fact that they had a talking rabbit in their cursed ranks.

Whilst Tatl could imagine that Sheik was relieved to take off his tunic for now, Link was excited for the chance to get back in the water. Nodding along with Impa's suggestion regarding the bodyboard, Link added, "Yeah! You and I could swim as normal, and then Sheik could help you with the board!" This sounded like a perfect second round in the waves!
