It was late for Eridan. The sun had risen, but it was clearly displayed in lines through the trees, and Eridan was walking in the shadow. Trees obscured the sun for him, allowing him to move forward, even in sunlight. Staying up wasn't too big a bother for him; he could sleep as long as he wanted, so he didn't care. It wasn't like he had anyone tailing him, anyway, so he should be all good. Aradia should be at the Hive, Aqua should be at the Inn, Meulin should be at the Hive too, and Equius and Nepeta... yeah, who knew? He half expected to run into them here.

Not that he cared anymore, of course. They'd blown it back then, and they'd done fuck all to right their wrongs when they'd gotten back. Thus, he wasn't bothered. Silently moving forward, Eridan walked through a log that was lying out of the ground, sideways. Looked like that had been here for a long time... he noted animals running away into the forest as he walked, his feet crunching on twigs as he walked and his movements scaring them. He didn't really care, to be honest, and instead kept walking in a straight line through the trees.

He'd honestly been worried about coming back. Understandable... after all, it HAD been covered with thorns when he'd last been here, and he HAD died. However, he wasn't going anywhere near the part of the forest that they'd visited last time. He'd entered the left hand side of the path, and in doing so... ended up coming out in an odd place. It was... well, grass was growing, but there was something else here. He didn't know what it was... but it was something. Something in the air... eh, he didn't know. However... Eridan did notice one thing. It was caught on a branch, and was... red. It stood out in the scenery, and was hidden unless you were coming from the trees; he'd only noticed when he'd left the clearing to head further north. Something just... didn't feel right here, so he wasn't staying. It was as if he was stood above a burial ground...

Still, Eridan picked it up, it turning out to be a red coat. It was resilient, and hadn't taken much tear from being in the wild, but it was starting to show. It was damp, too... Eridan would have to pitch it out in the heat when he lay down to sleep. Still... he got a weird vibe from it, so he hoisted it over his shoulder and carried on. That red, though... a candy red. Much more Aradia's thing... and even then, way too big for either of them.

After a while, Eridan stopped. He'd been going for too long... he started to stop, and slowly begun to finish, getting ready to sleep through the day.

It'd been a long walk... but at least he had shade this time.
