Jay's madness had been eating his mind and causing him to lash out at random, but also enabled him to have random quiet moments, mumbling incoherently to himself, no doubt regarding the deaths of his 'friends', who was guilty, and whatever else his mind was conjuring up for him. The blood that rushed to his brain as he hung upside down started to make him feel even dizzier than he was already, more sick than before, and it was becoming hard to stay conscious. Jay saw the sheep-skulled man and what appeared to be a ghost, an apparition, that looked remarkably like death would. Though he didn't shout, in his mind, scenarios played out that revealed to him various scenes of his death. The hooded alien's appearance made it more aware of what was going to happen.

What's worse, the Judge returned and his scent was of decay and gasoline, something that didn't really mix well to mask one another. Arms still flailing helpless, Jay watched as Fear took syringes, filling them with something vile and disgusting, and injected him with it. He made little effort to fight back at this point, but the scents and feelings his body was experiencing caused him to try and expel whatever had entered his bloodstream via vomiting. Not a pretty sight, but it wasn't much, and it was mostly bile and beer. Jay's body began to turn a sickly coloration as the 'Justice Special' took over, and soon, he would be a hanging corpse.

Nothing to say and nothing to do. He lost the will to continue to fight, despite the screams within his mind, telling him to kill and kill again, he had no control over his body. It became a useless flesh sack.

"S... stop... talk... ing to... me..."

Jay's body and mind will soon succumb to death due to the Justice Specials Fear injected into him. He will die within the next turn from the injections, unless Fear and Mortis (and optionally, Zs'Skayr) finish him off.

"Hm... think of this as a more proper greeting than when I was using that filthy reptilian's body." Zs'Skayr responded to Mortis' statement, sure that they had not met before. Not properly, at least. "I work with your brother, bringing him sinners to purge from this world in exchange for killing boredom... and perhaps, later, something of more use. I am Zs'Skayr." Now with that out of the way, it seemed that Fear would no doubt bring the house down along with Jay. Filling it with gas and all that. Just as long as the alien was far away enough from such an explosion... he was growing weary of fire of late... it seemed to be a rather common element.

There wasn't much for the specter to do than to float there, scythe in hand and wait for Fear to return. Which wasn't too long, thankfully. He appeared to be getting ready for something, but before that, Fear decided to use that disgusting 'Justice Special' upon Jay. Amusing, truly, but nothing Zs'Skayr would get near. Who knows how long Mortis' insides had been festering with that gunk. A scrunched face was given as Jay was subjected to it and all that was left was to finish him off. Zs'Skayr wouldn't be doing it of course, he had already taken care of one of them. This was for the Judges, anyway. If assisted if requested, but otherwise, this was their work, not his. Still, it was fun to partake at times.

Looks like the sinner's out of the bag. Judge Fear ceased messing with his volatile concoction and interjected between his brother's and Zs'Skayr's introductions. "It wasss a connection out of necessssity," the ghoul remarked. There were too many sinners to dispatch all by his lonesome (at the time), and the Dark Judge had not yet unlocked his full potential. The same was true for the ghost-creature, who required assistance with the day's radiance. If K.A.R.R. were here, the vehicle may be quite impressed with how resourceful Judge Fear had become.

His brother, however, may be of a differing opinion. That remained to be seen.

Once the sinner's tongue had been removed and the Dark Judge caught the telltale signs of Jay's inevitable nausea, Judge Fear sprung into action. "The sssinner isss going to lossse hisss lunch," the ghoul warned, and not a moment too soon. Quickly he stepped aside and hoped his brother did the same, as a small helping of vomit came sputtering out. That would have tarnished their uniforms had they stayed. "How disssgusssting," he hissed. You will be relieved to know, sinner, that you'll never have to heave ever again after this. You'll also never have to worry about littering, either. With another shake of his bottle and lightly sprinkling Jay's neck and torso in the mixed fluid, Judge Fear went several long meters away. In fact, he now stood on the opposite side of the street. "Over here. The fireworksss are going to be sssomething elssse." And you, Zs'Skayr, might want to hide.

Once his brother was at his side and the ghost-creature took cover, the Dark Judge began winding up his throwing arm. What did the Americans call this, baseball? Yes, baseball. "Ssso long, Jay," Judge Fear hissed, "and thanksss for the killer party."

    WHOOSH, there she goes!

It appeared that this world was more than a match for a single Dark Judge, from the sounds of what Zs'skayr was saying. In a way, it sounded much like what happened to Judge Death when he went to Mega-City One. Captured, imprisoned, and leaving the rest of them to fill in the gaps before dimension jumping to bail him out. How good it was to see that Judge Fear knew better than to follow directly in their leader's footsteps. "I ssssee." He replied to both of them. "With the way thisss damnable universsse worksss, I am not ssssurprisssed you needed aid."

Even stubborn Death would probably have figured something was amiss upon coming here, although whether that was before or after he met failure and imprisonment would be another question altogether. In fact... Could they be imprisoned on this world? Even with their apparent weakness, they were essentially back at square one like they had been initially with the Mega City.

    No one knew they existed.

No one knew what they were.

No one knew what to do about them.

Well, at least until Fear started traveling to that place called the Sanctuary. Questions one and two were made void, but the third... Perhaps there was still some mystery behind that. Although given the behavior of their prior visit it probably would not be long until the sinners who inhabited it started to grow wise.

His thoughts were broken as Judge Fear spoke up once more, advising his brother to move aside. He stepped aside with a groaning of decayed joints, noting the sickly expression on Jay's face. But a second after, bile and vomit dribbled from his mouth and onto the ground, the stench perceivable but easily remembered from a previous time long before.

"He will ssssoon worry about it no longer," Mortis replied to the hissed remark. After that splashing of gasoline was splattered onto the man, the Dark Judge did not need to be told twice before he shambled away to a safe distance, but not before burying the rusted knife in the furry sinner's gut. "A memento, for old timesss sssake." He hissed into the dying man's ear. That said and done, Judge Mortis took his place beside Fear, arms bent in a corpse-like fashion as he watched the fellow ghoul toss his own party favor at the house. It seemed old Fear was taking a page out of Fire's book this time around. His methods were quite effective, being the one who tended to have the higher body count.

    Killer party indeed.

    FWOOOSH!

    Beautiful.

With the house on fire and the lingering liquor inside, mixed with the gas that filled the home, it was a safe bet that the fire was far more intense than the Judge would've anticipated. Hopefully they weren't close enough for this little bomb to go off, but if they were, it was doubtful they'd really care that they were most likely either blown away, or on fire. Or probably both.

As for Jay, he succumbed to the 'Justice Special' shortly after taking a bit of the fire himself, his corpse burning and still strung up onto the lamppost. The second fire you've started, Fear. You're not Canti. As with all fires, it would attract whatever fire department the city had to come along, but not for a bit. Word of incidents in the outer district were slow to get to the 'main city', you see, so you could stay and revel in your causes for a bit more. And as for anyone nearby? They had no reason to get involved. Cowards lived here, and if they were wise, they would speak nothing of this incident that had witnessed, less they also be killed.

But for now, it seemed your work here was finished. Five sinners dead, a house of sin burned to the ground, you and your comrades winning the fight against those who opposed your law. A good evening was had by all.

    Well.
    Most.

    Fireworks? No thank you.

Taking the word to heart, Zs'Skayr flew elsewhere, across the street and hid near one of the abandoned homes as Fear tossed the molotov. Though the light hurt his eye for a moment, the alien watched from a safe distance and let out a small cackle. The explosion itself was what he wanted to get away from, but as it just burned slowly, the specter came back towards the two Judges (wherever they may be) and began to speak. "That is 12 so far, Fear. Only 88 more..." that number sounded rather intimidating, to say the least, but it was possible. Look at how much the alien had given unto the Judge so far! 12 sinners, all brought to him, and though some were a little more than expected, the point was he delivered.

"As much fun as it is to watch a house burn, I must scout out more potential sinners for you. That, and I'm growing tired of fire..." The alien gave a huff and took one final look at both the corpse of Jay and the burning house before saying something else, "if you need anything else, mental links have proven to be quite useful of late. Pleasure meeting you, Mortis. Fare eve, Judges." With that note, Zs'Skayr disappeared, flying phased out and heading back into the city, most likely to the inn. Even if he cannot enjoy certain things most 'living' individuals can, a small 'rest' was still in order, and still a comfortable idea.

And at least he'd be far away from fire.
Oh, the irony due to Destruction Warlocks...

    Lord of Black Flames, yeeer!
Portal Breach was exactly like Mega City-One, minus the unpleasant discovery of Judge Dredd and Psi-Judge Anderson. This city may not be as sprawling and infested with sinners as the Big Meg, but it was rife with its own unique challenges all the same. And seeing as how Judge Fear had been the first to fall when they attempted to aid Judge Death in the initial purging of Mega City-One, the ghoul wasn't so keen on experiencing a repeat. It was the same for that accursed trip in Limbo... Don't get him started on Judge Death's brilliant idea to visit Gotham, either.

    FWOOOSH!
Would you just look at it burn...

Fire was not his element yet Judge Fear could admire its destructive beauty all the same. If there was anything he learned while purging at Judge Fire's side, it was that the flaming Dark Judge possibly had the highest body count of them all. Or, perhaps, simply one of the most effective means of ushering sinners to their inevitable cleansing.

"Yesss, Zsss'Ssskayr. Eighty-eight more wicked criminalsss to be purged, eighty-eight more wicked criminalsss until you have what you ssseek." The ghost-creature was performing admirably and the Dark Judge had found these sessions... invigourating, to say the least. With each batch of sinners Zs'Skayr brought to him Judge Fear felt his old strength returning, the passion in these lifeless veins slowly beginning to awaken. It was like reuniting with an old friend after so long apart... He could only imagine how dull Judge Mortis must feel at the moment. "Very well, Zsss'Ssskayr. Until our next sssesssssion together." With that the hooded ghost-creature flew off, leaving the two Dark Judges to admire their handiwork for a decent while longer. Good, because Judge Fear had been delighted thus far to observe the fire spreading onto the rest of this iniquitous city block.

All good things must come to an end, however.

Curious about his brother's predicament Judge Fear shifted his gaze upon Judge Mortis, the inferno's hellish reflection dancing upon his helm and pauldrons. "Do you feel it returning?" inquired the ghoul.

On a brilliant roar of flame, Jay and the drug house were no more. All had been judged, laid at peace by their lawful decree of death. However, deep in his blackened soul, the ghoul could not help but wish that the flames, for all their destructive glory, were instead replaced by decay and rot. A personal preference and no more, really. Flames were effective and all, yes, but the smell of decay the rapid disintegration of flesh and bone to corpse dust was such a satisfying image. However, he could not help but find a glimmer of admiration towards Judge Fire's own methods, if only for widespread effectiveness.

"They have been judged." He hissed, satisfied with their handiwork.

Wait, twelve down and only eighty-eight more to go? So there was a deal in order instead of the specter merely giving his charity... A pity that Zs'skayr was not judicially minded like they were. Either way, if the ghost wished to bring them more sinners to purge and fill his quota, he would need to go far further than finding a mere four or five to lure into their doom. Mortis pushed those thoughts aside, even if the spirit was not interested in bringing death to all to end their sinful ways, tonight's session had proved most invigorating.

In fact, it felt so invigorating that the ghoul was starting to sense a lift of weakness from his person. A small lift, but still noticeable nonetheless. "Goodbye, Zsss'sssskayr." Judge Mortis hissed as the alien floated off into the night. Upon his parting, the undead Judge looked down at his own claws, giving them a slow flex. What more could he decay with this newfound power, or was it only enough to ensure he would last but a fraction longer in a session without failing his stamina?

His brother's bass inquiry roused the skeletal being of decay from his thoughts, empty sockets seeming to burn with new vigor in the fire's reflection. "I feel, ssstronger. It isss not a great boossst from my previousss ssstrength, but I feel it." He replied slowly, almost as if he were hesitant to announce he had regained some amount of strength in the possibility it would fall away again like a passing breeze. "How much more until we are truly ressstored, Fear? Will the eighty-eight ssssinnerssss be enough to regain our sssstrength?"

It was not the most satisfying method, agreed. Judge Fear had always - and will always - preferred techniques that favoured his element. Nevertheless, fire was something that could not be so easily denied. "Yesss, they have been judged," the Dark Judge concurred. They have been judged and no longer will their sins continue. In that the ghoul could not argue, the end result having justified their harsh means. Tonight's session has thus been concluded... But as for Judge Mortis this has only just begun.

Judge Fear was now a veteran of this strange, vexing world; his strength was not yet complete despite the fact that he had regained over half of it. Over half of it within the course of seven or so months... A long time, even by his eternal standards.

"The ssstrength you feel isss from thisss one eve alone," the Dark Judge explained. The entire process was maddening, he knew. Judge Fear had been here little over a year and he could not understand how Portal Breach worked, let alone make sense of it all. "I am uncertain of how thisss world operatesss but you ssshould be yourssself within the year. Fret not, brother. We will return ourssselves to our former glory and purge thisss world of itsss crimesss." But as for how much more? In this the ghoul was eerily silent, as he realized that such a number could not be produced merely out of thin air. Eighty-eight was an encouraging number but was it the number? Regrettably, the undead fiend could not satisfy his brother's inquiry.

He nevertheless gave it some thought, however, and eventually hissed, "If we are wissse about our proceedingsss then yesss. I haven't a doubt that eighty-eight sssinnersss will ressstore usss to our former glory. After all, Mortissss, I have barely purged fifty and I feel more than halfway ssstrong. The sssame will be true for you." And Judge Fear will be damned if he could not support his brother along the way, both Dark Judges brought back to maximum efficiency. It simply took time and they had plenty to spend. Once more the armoured ghoul directed his gaze to the flames, voice reverberating.

"We have accomplissshed what we had ssset out to do," he rasped. "No longer isss there any point in remaining. Let usss go, brother. We have much work ahead of usss and the sssinners beg for releassse." And with that Judge Fear began to walk away, cape trailing close behind.

They were done here, for now.

Indeed, for the more decayed of the two his journey towards regaining his strength had only begun.

A quiet hiss escaped Judge Mortis' bony skull as he nodded alongside his brother. by now the flames were licking upwards at the sky. Like the grasping hands of the damned they writhed and clawed upwards towards the cold dark, towards the glimmering specks of light that brought them no salvation from their fate. Poetic, if the ghoul said so himself. Although he would rather leave such dramatic affairs to Judge Fire, he could not help but admit to himself that those long years spent with him in limbo allowed for a few qualities of the incessantly burning Judge to rub off on him. Along with a newly found appreciation for patience, among other things...

Such thoughts were waved away like one would thin smoke. The fire department would take a while to arrive, but their presence at this now burning effigy of judgement was inevitable. His sheep skull, illuminated orange and red from the flames, turned to face his brother once more. If this amount of strength was from this one session alone... He could likely regain enough of his former power to be on par with Judge Fear if he pushed himself without end. A slavish endeavor much like Necropolis, now that he thought of it, but more satisfying with the lack of Dredd and Anderson.

To gain his strength to its full potential within the year however sounded rather appealing. "Good, even with thisss sssingle tassste I feel lessss weighed down by thisss world. Our future sssessssionssss will undoubtedly be more fruitful asss a resssult." He hissed gladly. To think, with two of them at their full strength they could dispense justice at a far greater effectiveness than by Fear's lonesome. As for the eighty-eight sinners, however...

Such a number appeared to be enough to regain the Dark Judge's former strength, if they practiced their duties correctly. Judge Fear had barely purged fifty, and already he was back to half his strength. "That issss very promissssing indeed." For a moment the ghoul felt lucky that Death and Fire had not joined them on this life-infested rock. Those two would have attempted to level the Outer District and bring far more attention than necessary. How large would that mob have been if Death and Fire had arrived here before they had? Possibly twice the size if he figured their natures right.

Mortis looked towards the flames once more, the scent of burning flesh returning to the forefront of his mind. Would the fur covered beasts have the same scent as the sinners within that school? That awfully pungent yet satisfying aroma of cooked human flesh and burning hair wafted about his memory in pondering before being pushed to the back. What was the scent of one burnt sinner compared to another, they all were judged in the end. Regardless, the scene while small brought back that inspiring visage of massive columns of black smoke, rising to the heavens from blackened mounds. His attention returned to Judge Fear as he spoke up once more, noting their priority in leaving the area of the house before the authorities of this city came to investigate.

"Very well, Fear." He hissed, agreeing. "Lead usss to where we ssshall next ssshow thisss life-ridden land jusssstice." With that he turned and took his place alongside Judge Fear, claws swaying idly with each shambling step.
