This Date is Bad and You Should Feel Bad

Post by Universal NPC on Mon Apr 14, 2014 3:53 pm

    TIME: 18:45
    APRIL 10TH, YEAR 4

    "Come on, this way..."

The outer district had been busier than most could probably recall within the past few weeks. Reports of fires, possible deaths and much higher crime activity was being spread around through the mouths of teenagers and punks who enjoyed the more dangerous side of the city, all wanting to see what was going on. Many may have already gone ahead, some may be waiting and getting themselves prepared before venturing into such a dangerous place, but one thing was for certain; death was rising, and so was curiosity.

Too bad curiosity killed the cat, especially in this case...

An alien male, tall and slender with bright green eyes and dark fur tone, looking much like a cat himself, wore baggy clothes as his claws upon his feet scratched against the wet surface of the pavement. Another pair of clicks, those of quite nice knee-high boots and a punkish outfitted female of the same race, followed him. Though he seemed dirtier in comparison, her tone was still just as dark, and she seemed to be covered in piercings and 'satanic' symbols that dangled from her ears, neck and wrists. A typical punk-goth girl and a punk boy. A perfect couple.

"This place smells pretty bad, haha," the boy said as he walked through a puddle with little care for his clothing. The female shook her head and spat at the ground, her leather coat being tugged harder around her. The air was cold due to the recent rains, but it was still a nice evening. "So, why are we headin' out here, Jay? I'm tired and I just wanted to watch scary movies tonight," she asked, stretching and giving an irritated sigh to her boyfriend. "I'm curious! Aren't you? All the talk about the creepy shit goin' on over here? I wanna check it out... maybe if we're lucky we can loot somethin'. And besides, Lee, you've seen all of those stupid horror movies before..."

Lee shrugged and gave an uncaring look as she glanced over to the buildings, noticing how the further they went in, the more decrepit and devoid of anything they became. "You wanna find something here? What, like a birthday present since you forgot one?" she hissed, and Jay gave a small irritated look before snapping back, "I said I was sorry, I didn't have the money to get you those headphones! They were like, fifty credits, babe! I had to pay some bills!" "It didn't have to be headphones..." they both fell silent as they continued, heading down a bridge and into what appeared to be an underpass.

"Wait..." Lee stopped and gave a look of concern, her fingers fidgeting with her coat's zipper, "you have to remember this at least..." Did he? "I know, you don't like going under things like that... there aren't any cars, though, babe. This place is pretty dead." Dead. What a wrong choice of words, man. "Really? Jeez... Look, what are we even fucking doing out here? The sun is going to be gone really soon, and I don't want to be out in this shithole during the darkness. I'm scared, Jay. Those rumors don't make me feel comfortable."

Jay just laughed at her, waving his hand in a manner of mocking her and her current distressed state, "oh man, REALLY?? That's hilarious, you're never this much of a pussy! God damn it, Lee, just go home then. I'll keep going." The man started to walk on wards, leaving the girl to her uncomfortable state as she squirmed, yelling out his name a few times. Jay stood in the underpass halfway through and waved at her, wanting her to follow, but she rejected, turning around and beginning to walk back they way they came. She stopped a few feet, however, and felt even more uncomfortable... being alone in this side of town.... it wasn't a good feeling.

"Ugh, you fucking dick..." she hissed as she turned around and started to run his way, closing her eyes for a moment when she entered the underpass and nearly running into him. "Woah, Lee, calm down, I'm right here! And look, nothin' happened. We're cool. No reason to be scared..." he said, giving her a pat on the head. Lee shivered a bit before realizing she was alright, and jerked herself away from his grip, swatting at him. "Let's just go, dicklord." Jay smiled and wrapped an arm around her as the two continued walking.

Their trek was short, and they came to what appeared to be a small house, fit for only one person, that had a few lights on. "This is Drey's place? What a shithole." Lee looked at the terrible state of the home and yard while Jay knocked on the door twice, then rang the bell. "Yeah, well, he's got good stuff and knows some crap about what's been goin' on. Don't accept any drinks he gives ya, though.. he might have a few friends over." Oh. Oh, that sounded wonderful. Lee gave a glare as the door creaked open, and a strange voice emitted from it, one that Jay seemed rather... unsettled by...

"You're... Jay, right...? It is... good to see you..."

"Uh... Drey? Is... that you, bro? What the fuck is wrong with your voice?" A hoarse laugh escaped the shadowed figure as locks were clicked and the door opened, revealing a grey creature of a reptilian look, horns upon his head and large claws. "Just a little... sick, that's all. And you've brought..." he looked over, his words cut off as he gave the girl a look up and down. "Oh right, you never met Lee! She's m'girl! Real sweety!" Jay replied cheerfully, gripping his arm around her. "Get the fuck off of me."

"Charming... why don't we head downstairs? A nice party is going on... Karey and Mason are there... both seem rather out of it, though..." a small smile merged upon the reptilian's face as he turned, opening the door to the basement. Jay entered, but Lee was hesitant, not finding this situation... good. She closed the front door, however, and followed Jay, giving Drey a stern look as she passed him. "Touch me anywhere, and you're going to be missing fingers, buddy," she threatened as she continued down the stairs, Drey merely giving a small hoarse chuckle, "you are not my type, girl. I would not dream of it."

The basement was lit with a soft red light, smoke filled the room and bottles of empty beer littered the floor. The smoke was not of marijuana, but there were hints of illegal narcotics in use... Syringes near the garbage hinted to this, and the two known as Karey and Mason had bruises upon their arms, giggling at nothing as they sat and drank. Karey was human looking, save for her dark cat-like eyes, fangs and pointed ears, and Mason, well, he was most likely human. Both greasy and wearing dark clothing, they seemed to be having a good time.

"Ugh... really? I don't do drugs other than smoke some crap..." Lee punched Jay in the arm, but he looked at her with an innocent face, "you know I don't, either. Made me feel sick, man. Besides, Drey's got some good stuff, right, bro?" He turned to the reptilian creature who was standing beside the door, arms crossed and giving a 'chill' look. He nodded, "yes, I do... in fact... the main guy who has it should be here any time now. Why not have a... beer... and sit and wait? It won't take long." He smiled and Jay nodded, taking Lee over to a couch where they both sat.

"Your friend... something's weird with him. Does he always sound like that?" she asked, rejecting the beer Jay had tried to give her, "huh? Well, he has a deep voice. He must've gotten strep throat or something, I don't know. He lives off of selling crap, it wouldn't be a surprise if he caught something! Let's just wait until the guy comes. We'll leave right after, okay?" Lee said nothing and just looked elsewhere, trying to ignore the weird music that played. It sounded like terrible porn music, and it made her scrunch her nose.

    "Any time now..."

    ATTENTION!:
    To Judge Fear and his associates;
You have permission to post here and attack any of the people in the basement OTHER THAN DREY. They will have the same health as you and be the same level, but their attacks are simple and mostly unarmed or 'bar fight' tactics. They may use drugs. If you wish to join in and claim someone, please do so and NOTE in your post who you will be attacking. Have fun, and SPILL THE BLOOD OF THE SINNERS!

Whatever is the matter, Lee? Afraid of a boring and empty underpass...?

Wise, for the girl had every right to be. Unlike her clueless and ignorant boyfriend, there were dark things... twisted things... lurking in the underpass, and the couple had not been alone. Oh, never had they been alone. Dozens of shadowy claws trailed after Lee's footsteps, some eager to pull her under and some wanting nothing more than to taste her fresh, fearful blood. It would have been a simple death, but more was planned for her and her boyfriend. The hungering shades quietly hissed in the darkness and yielded, an unseen swarm instead traveling through the darkened, neglected crevices of Portal City's outer district.

Fleetingly they cut through the run-down streets to a nearby master, where several of the terrors made manifest pooled beneath a pair of rotten, sickly-green feet. Yesss... a voice called out to the darkness, unheard but felt. Their time will come and sssinful blood ssshall be ssspilt upon thisss eve. Such words were pleasing and the shadows dissipated into nothingness, leaving two very corporeal silhouettes behind... A champion of fear and a champion of rot.

Together the two forces made their diligent way to an unnamed destination, a drug house inhabited with promising victims. Five, according to a certain ally's words. No matter the number, be it one or one million, such a figure was acceptable. One of the champions hissed, the one covered in armour, and they noted the sun's waning light as it set behind their toothy pauldrons.

Soon there will be no protection left...

Judge Fear will handle Jay. Also, letting Judge Mortis fill the rest of the narrative.

Indeed, the girl had been wise, but not wise enough. Instead of walking away and leaving the fluffy fool to his idiocy, she joined him. Alas, what did one expect from a criminal in their form of intelligence?

As the shadows parted from around their beings, a carved wooden badge was visible in the glow given off by his fellow Judge. MORTIS could be easily read, the shape of the badge a caricature of the judge's sheep-skull head that grinned eerily in the fading light of the sun. Silently the ghoul agreed, their blood would be spilled and justice would be carried out in this crime ridden district. Alongside Judge Fear the more decayed of the two walked, and with a decrepit hand Judge Mortis pushed aside the door, paint curling and flaking beneath his rotting touch. Not that anyone would notice, the house itself looked as if it were about to crumble away upon its foundations any moment now. A poor state of neglect, typical of the criminally inclined.

Already the two punks had taken their seat once the two ghoul's walked in, the smell of smoke hanging in the air. Looksss like they ssstarted the party without ussss, brother. He stated over their mental link, not that the ghoul was interested in such paltry means of personal escapism. Perhaps it was high time to inform these impetuous youths of their unlawful and harmful habits. He advanced to the basement door, bones creaking and joints crackling as he turned the handle and pushed it aside with a loud creeeeeak!

"Greetingssss, ssssinnersss!" Mortis joyfully greeted, his ethereal voice hissing down the stairs and into the room. "We have come to judge you!" He descended down the stairs, leaving Fear to close and lock the door. His decrepit limbs creaked as he stepped down onto the basement floor, claws curling at the sight before him. "Illegal drug usssage issss an offence punissshable by death, ssssinnersss." He hissed as he approached the one named Lee. A pity her vice had dragged her down into this inescapable slum. Thick yellow claws swiftly reached for her throat, judge Mortis' empty eye sockets staring without mercy. Quickly the ghoul trapped her throat in his grip, squeezing as his touch went to work on eroding away her very flesh.

"The touch of Mortis brings decay!" Came his eager hiss. It was time they purged this basement of iniquity!

As the two furrier creatures sat and mused over their surroundings, Lee finding it more repulsive than Jay, Karey and Mason spoke of a fire that had happened a while ago. The entire topic was vague, considering their words were mostly either incoherent due to their high or just random babbling. Lee was by no means interested in what happened, and she wasn't interested in staying here longer than she had to. Jay should've known this, and had he had been a better and more supportive and understanding love... perhaps he could've saved her from what was about to happen.

A sudden feeling of sickness came over everyone, but most notably Lee as she held her stomach and covered her mouth. "Augh! What's the disgusting smell?" she coughed a bit as Jay held a sleeve to his mouth, not noticing the scent as much as the girl, but it was still there. Their answer was beyond their only means of escape, and it sauntered right in with a hearty hello.

Beep beep, it's a sheep? wrote:"Greetingssss, ssssinnersss! We have come to judge you!"

Drey had been leaning against the door up until the very moment of their entrance, where he had moved to the side and gave an apathetic look to the four teenagers. "The dealers are here, kids." Drey let out a hoarse cackle after his words, and the purging soon began afterwards. No where to run, no where to hide. What would teenagers high off of drugs and afraid of death do in such a situation?

"What the fuck!?" All taken by surprise, Lee jumped back and fell onto the ground as the one with the skull of an animal attempted to grab her. "Back off, you fuck--" words cut short, Mortis' grip upon her neck soon proved to be far deadlier than a mere strangling as the fur and skin began to decay, falling off and leaving her to shriek in pain. "Gck... J... G... off..." words struggling to escape her, she had only one weapon on her, and that was a can of mace underneath her skirt. Using it on someone with no eyes would be ineffective, and instead, she gripped it as tightly as she could and began to  bang it against the skull to be freed.

Jay would've intervened, but instead, his anger and apparent lack of true concern for his 'girl' was drawn to Drey, where he got a switchblade from his pocket and attempted to attack him. "What the fuck Drey, what is this!? You're trying to kill us!?" he screamed as he stabbed at Drey.

Mason and Karey, high and disoriented, got up and tried to come to. "Oh man, what's going on!?" Mason asked, his voice sounding sick and tired as he grabbed an empty beer bottle. "I don't know, but I don't think this is part of th' party!" Karey, though obviously concerned, held a strange smile upon her face as she grabbed a bottle, as well, and threw it at Mortis' head. Mason stumbled a bit as he wandered a bit closer to the man in the helmet and threw the bottle, but it missed... by a lot. It didn't even make it to Fear's feet.

    Don't do drugs, kids!

FIRST SET: Lee is attacking Mortis is a can of mace. No, not spraying, but instead, using it to bash in his sheepy skull!

SECOND SET: Jay's idiocy has come to an all time high as he attacks Drey instead of trying to save Lee. What a great boyfriend, huh?

THIRD SET: Karey has thrown a bottle at Mortis' head.

Mason is far too high to aim correctly, thus his bottle was a complete miss.
Note: Because Drey is obviously not himself, he takes damage instead of his possessor.

Narcotics, alcohol, horrible tastes in music; all crimes and all punishable by death. Judge Fear observed everything with an air of disdain and was more than eager to dispose of these iniquitous creatures. A pity. We will sssimply have to take the life out of it, the ghoul mentally returned.

Down into the basement they both descended, Death never far behind. Judge Mortis was the first to introduce himself and then the real party began, screams and rapid heartbeats delectable, as the sinners were slowly starting to catch on.  It was too late, far too late, and Judge Fear had already secured their only escape route with a steadfast padlock. He gave the enchanted mechanism one hearty shake and pivoted to face the unfolding madness. "Greetingsss, sssinnersss!" the Dark Judge echoed his brother's enthusiastic sentiments. "Rejoice, for we are here to purge you of your crimesss." Oh hang on, was this a beer bottle meant for him? The ghoul idly kicked it aside and approached the one known as Karey, rotten arms extended. "Do not resssissst. The obssstruction of jussstice is punissshable by death," he hissed at the dazed woman.

In one fell swoop he descended upon the sinner's and snaked both hands around her vulnerable neck, the Dark Judge's large fingers easily locked against Karey's throat. "Rejoice," Judge Fear repeated, his words hinting a vague sense of gratification. "Sssoon you will no longer pursssue the needle in hopesss of enjoying your worthlesssss life." All it took was a squeeze, and...

Take the life out if it they shall.

Quickly the very flesh of the sinner known as Lee began to decay, fur falling from her neck and the skin beneath erupting into a horrific necrosis. Skin greened and became taught, blood curdled, and muscle began to atrophy as if the Dark Judge's very touch was devouring it. However, it appeared that these sinners were not willing to come to the slaughter, as even Lee attempted to strike back against Judge Mortis' decaying touch. Alas, her strikes were easily avoided, the woman's mace ineffective in deterring the undead creature even if she sprayed it.

Behind him, another tried to join the fray, the cat eyed woman who had been previously giggling on the couch. A bottle of beer had been tossed in vain, clattering to the floor intsead of bouncing off the Dark Judge's elongated skull. Such an offense was handled by his brother, making quick work of her windpipe in the meantime. While Judge Mortis would have loved to judge the both of them, the furry woman alone was enough to keep his hands full at the moment.

While the undead Judge saw no point in her struggle, it was best that she was restrained before she actually did any true damage to his host. With his other claw, Judge Mortis firmly took hold of her thrashing arm, claws digging into her thick fur. "Ceasse your sssstruggling, ssssinner." He hissed, the judge's decaying touch beginning to eat away at her thick coat and down into her arm. "Assssault of a Judge of the Law issss punissshable by death!"

How fortunate that her boyfriend was such a caring soul, leaving her in the hands of a trustworthy lawman while he went to deal with the man at the top of the stairs. Quite the keeper, that one.

    Fun times, kids!

Lee struggled with her attacker as best she could, but she began to gasp for air as her throat decayed far enough, allowing her to... well, her head is going to probably fall off at any moment, to be honest. But before it did, Lee had had what most would call a "flash of life", as her own flashed before her eyes. She had a good life--until she met Jay. Thus, he was her downfall. All of the things he forced her to do, all of the things she was scared of that he teased her about... perhaps it was fortunate the man had left his 'girlfriend' in the hands of the lawman. Though not the way she intended to die, perhaps she would feel some peace as she knew that the idiot that caused this, that pressured her all those times, that made her feel worthless... would be going down with her, and hopefully just as, if not more, painful.

Despite this sad little bit in her life, she tried again to fight, though weakly, and removed her heel with ease (as she had learned over the years, don't ask) and tried to hit Mortis with it to drop her. Even if it was in vain, she would most likely succumb soon to her decaying wounds...

As for Karey, who attempted to attack Lee's attacker, was stopped by a cold and wretched grip upon her neck. The crunching of bones and tubes within her neck were heard and felt even more as Karey let out a hissing scream. It started out strong, but became more of a gasping scream as the Judge crushed her neck. A shard of broken glass from a bottle was all she had as she sliced at the Judge's hand.

Mason, for some reason, hopped upon the back of Judge Fear and began to bang his hand upon the his helm. A stupid thing to do, especially because of spikes and... well, it's a helmet, but the pain Mason would've experienced was pretty much null as he was wasted on whatever narcotics he had taken before.

    Bang bang bang!

How long could the Judge stand that?

"Why the fuck did you set us up, you son of a bitch?!" Jay, the ever loving boyfriend, was still trying to get at Drey, who had been stabbed in the stomach. "You were one of my friends, Gods damn it! Why the fuck did you do this to us!?" he screamed as he attempted another stab at his 'friend'. "You're going to die with us, you piece of shit!" Drey gave the man a look of apathy as he merely smiled and replied, "oh, I know. But first, it's all of you." Drey then tackled Jay and pinned him down on the ground, keeping him there as the lawmen did their 'good' work.

    "LEE!"

Bit late, don't you think, Jay?

    Lee
    HP: 70/50

    Jay
    HP: 370/370

    Mason
    HP: ???/???

    Karey
    HP: 70/47

    Drey?
    HP: 260/229

Lee - Lee will succumb to her wounds the next turn, but before she does, she attacked Mortis with her shoe. First Dice/Coin.

Karey - Karey's neck is broken, and because of this, she too will most likely die the next turn, if not last one more turn and just be useless. She has attacked Fear with a piece of glass. Second Dice/Coin.

Mason - Mason is high off his rocker and has jumped onto Judge Fear's back, and has proceeded to hit him in the head with his very own hand! This attack does nothing because Mason is stupid and high.

Jay - He's still dealing with Drey, whom he has stabbed. Third Dice/Coin.

The last coin is to determine whether Jay is pinned down. If HIT, he will be stuck there until someone comes to help him... or the lawmen come for him. If MISS, he will be able to attack the next round.

What's that, dear Karey? Were you trying to scream?

Nothing was more satisfying than watching the horrid life wane from a sinner's eyes, to hear their last drawn breath, and soon... Karey will no longer desire for her more iniquitous ways. Still she thought to struggle, however, as most sinners were wont to do. A futile act, and Judge Fear effortlessly snatched the woman's wrist in a harsh grip. A piece of glass? She had thought to assault him with a piece of glass? The penalty for this blatant disobedience for the law was an even tighter squeeze around her neck, with the ghoul evenly addressing his brother. "Asss with the ressst, thessse will not lisssten to reassson. There isss no hope for them," he hissed, disapproving. There might not even be hope for them in death, as this world operated in truly sickening - thump!

And just like that, the Dark Judge had suddenly picked up a rather unruly new friend. One of the sinners, for whatever reason, had thought to not only piggyback, but - bang bang bang! - also beat upon Judge Fear's helm as if it were a set of drums. Naturally this loathsome act struck a very sour chord in the ghoul, as such a crude beating disrupted the Dark Judge's work. It also produced quite the irritating echo.

    "Mmnngh..." Who dares!?

At once the ghoul relinquished his hold of Karey, rotten hands instead traveling upward and overhead as twisted fingers searched for Mason. Fingernails dug themselves deep into the sinner's flesh and Judge Fear wasted no time. With a rough yank and a surprisingly strong throw, the Dark Judge forcibly removed Mason from his burdened shoulders. "Sssuch disssressspect for the law!" Judge Fear angrily snarled. Only one man had made the annoying habit of damaging the Dark Judge's helm without punishment, and Mason was not this man!

Furious and justly so, the ghoul made an immediate beeline for the fallen sinner while unhooking a heavy chain from his belt. "You are to be punissshed for your insssolence, of which there isss but one sssentence." And punished Mason was, those thick and ice-cold links rattling as they were looped around his bared neck. Standing behind his victim with the line now taut, Judge Fear's ethereal gaze matched with Mason's and the ghoul issued his sentence for the sinner at last. "Death." Scream, sinner, until your eyes bulge out of your skull as you hopelessly watch the others perish before you! Scream, for you were soon to die!

Yes, wither and rot under the might of decay! Already the fur-covered woman was beginning to weaken in her struggling against the Dark Judge's rotting grip, flesh withering and skin becoming taught to the point of tearing like wet tissue paper. However, it appeared she was not weakened enough to give up the fight, as the case was with these infuriating breeds of sinners on this planet. There was a light clunk as her heel grazed Judge Mortis' bony head, an irritated hiss escaping from his being.

"Indeed you are correct, brother." Mortis replied, his empty eye sockets glaring at the woman's own frantic gaze. "That leavesss them to only be forced to sssurrender."

Look at your life, Lee, look at all the poor choices you have made. The Dark Judge could see them as well, psychic tendrils snaking into her mind like serpents while her life was flashing before her very mind. How delicious, her fear, her desperation to live. How futile it all was, even as her mind went to ponder Jay and his horrid treatment of her. How sad... For her.

You dessserved better. Mortis hissed into her mind. Look at him now, leaving you in cowardice of facing me to deal with the man at the top of the ssstairsss. He doesss not want to help you, he only wantsss to vent hisss frusstrationss on the nearessst creature that isss leassst likely to attack. He doessss not care. Look, even now while Lee was in peril he called out her name, not in anguish, but to demand she come over and help him. What manner of friend demands so much of their other? There issss no point to your sssstruggle, girl. Sssurrender, resssst and allow yourssself releassse from thissss horrid life. He hasss never cared for you, what hasss he ever done to help you, to pleassse you? All the while the Dark Judge twisted and pulled at her memories, her very thoughts. Slights began stabbing wounds, minor inconveniences into outright mutiny. Times he has been late? they all were for the sake of another woman undoubtedly on the side, the scent of alien perfume hanging in her nostrils when they were close. Every languid rake of his claws into her brain felt like an infectious sickness was taking over her, weakness flooding her mind in waves. Twisted memories were driven into her mind like many jagged stakes, laced with anguish and despair.

Sssubmit, Lee. There issss nothing left for you here. He hissed finally, a twist of his psychic claws driving the message deeper into her conscious to the point of it being near overwhelming.
