    A Room with No View

Post by Zs'Skayr on Wed Mar 05, 2014 10:26 pm

    TIME: 21:45
    DATE: MARCH 3RD, YEAR 4

Sleeping in abandoned buildings for a month wasn't very wise in such a soft body, was it? Though Zs'Skayr kept the human body from harm and too much exposure, it was obvious he was becoming a tad ill. His cheek bones more prominent, his muscle he originally had disappearing, dark(er) bags under his eyes... this wouldn't do. No one appeared to be looking for this man currently, and this made him a perfect host! But what would he do if this man died? Going after another person and another... it would be an endless cycle. As much as he hated to admit it... he had to take care of himself... Something he didn't need to worry about before.

Carrying his scythe along, using it as a walking stick due to his now fragile looking frame, the man with odd eyes approached the Inn as he was suggested by... oh, what were their names? Aradia... and Kev... right? Yes... those were correct. The others, they didn't really reveal their names. This wasn't his concern, he didn't particularly care. Looking at the inn's door, he stepped inside, wiping his boots. Not something he would normally remember to do, but even someone with no feet naturally would surely not want to track some mud and filthy snow upon the floor. He might be rude, but it was common courtesy. Now then...

The man approached the counter, clinging to his scythe and using it to balance himself, feeling a bit ill and weak. With a grunt, he managed to keep himself up, and rang whatever service bell was there (or tapped on the counter for service). "Excuse me..." his voice raspy and whispery as he spoke, trying to get the attention of someone. "I am in need of a room..." he let out a wheezing coughing before thinking to himself quietly, human bodies are such weak things... I should've looked for an alien... Maybe if this body fails him, that would be Zs'Skayr's next target.

Whilst it was not uncommon for any of her four charges to be downstairs at this hour, especially when it came to checking the front desk right up until the time when the doors locked for the night, tonight found Zelda, Tetra, Link, and Link all relaxing and enjoying each others' company inside of Impa and Zelda's room. The four kids had already changed into their pyjamas and had effectively settled for the evening, and considering the fun they were having with each other, Impa had insisted that for any final checks, she could take care of them. It was around one such stop for the night that she found herself just inside of the innkeeper's office, looking over something for the Hero of Winds when she looked up at catching the sound of the bell that signaled that the front door had been opened. Whether this was a new arrival or a returning resident was yet to be seen of course, but the Sheikah had a gut feeling that it might be the former instead.

Sure enough, a few moments later, she heard footsteps approaching the counter before the telltale chime of the service bell dinged. As soon as the new arrival's voice excused himself and noted that he needed a room, Impa set the documents down and moved out from the office, taking a place behind the reception desk. Before her stood a man that she had never seen before, his form seemingly weak despite the rather average build of his frame. The way he gripped his scythe landed to that, but even with the wheezing cough he let out, at least he seemed relatively steady for now.

Regardless of his rather unique eyes, there appeared to be something more to him than what he presented at first glance, but even so, Impa was set to help him get settled here. Nodding to the man and keeping a subtle eye on his status in case if his condition suddenly worsened, she stated, "I can certainly help with that. Welcome to the Stock Pot Inn."

Moving to pull out a new room form and date it, Impa added, "I'm glad you were able to make it before it got much cooler tonight. By the way, we have four floors here… do you have a preference?"

Luckily, he didn't have to wait long. Who knew how long this body would stay up before it collapsed from exhaustion--which would be bad. Zs'Skayr would have to abandon it... he most certainly would not be hanging around if it did that. But this should be quick, right? The woman emerged and looked him in the eyes, and greeted him. Taking out a form, she mentioned the cold, and though Zs'Skayr couldn't really feel it himself, the body certainly was, and he replied accordingly, "Hrm... yes, as am I." When she mentioned four floors and asked if he had a preference, he shook his head. Oh. Wait a minute...

"An odd request, but, do you perhaps have a room that gets the least amount of sunlight...? I have a--special condition--that gets worse in direct sunlight, you see..." he leaned on the scythe in hand as he spoke, thinking if there was anything else to add. No... nothing else, except one more thing, but that would be pretty suspicious. He'll just have to look around when he gets to a room. "You wouldn't happen to have anything like that, would you? It doesn't matter what floor, I have the strength to get there," he gave a rather hoarse chuckle at the statement, despite what he himself sounded like.

There was no doubt about it… there was definitely more to this man than met the eyes. Well, most eyes at least… the Eyes of Truth were another matter entirely. Whether this was a case of possession, cohabitation, or something else of the sort that was before her, Impa could not say… be that as it was, there was not much on that front she could do save keep an extra sharp watch on this possible new tenant. The man did not seem to be in any form of distress though, outward or otherwise, but the Sheikah knew very well that that might only mean so much.

The first guess she'd had seemed the most likely case here, especially with the clue she had just picked up. There was no malicious intent behind him currently though… that much had been proven true by his entry to the inn.

Impa raised her eyebrows slightly as the man voiced his request, right before going over her mental layout of the rooms to see what they could find for him. There were no windowless rooms for tenants, but she could at the very least see about getting him a room inside the inner corner of the inn. Regardless as to what his special condition was, she noted, "All of our rooms do have windows, but they have very good blinds that you can draw. You're in luck, though. We do have a room open in the inner corner of the inn that does not get as much sunlight as the rooms adjacent to it… it's a couple floors up via the elevator or stairs if you prefer."

Moving to pull the cardkey out of the drawer that corresponded with the room she had in mind, Impa made a note of it on the form before placing the paper on the counter in front of the man. Holding onto the key for a moment as she handed him a pen, she stated, "If you can just print your name and sign there, you'll be all set. This cardkey will help you access your room, the inn itself if you arrive after hours, and let you receive free food in the dining area."

Think what you will, madame, but Zs'Skayr indeed had no ill intentions upon this place. This would be a sanctuary to him, and as such, he would not be bringing anything 'bad' here. Though he mused as the woman seemed a little skeptical, whether she showed it or not, he could tell she was slightly wary of him. The eyes were the main clue, but he cared not. This body would be terminated soon enough. She mentioned all of the rooms had windows, much to his dismay, but she mentioned one that happened to get the least amount of sunlight. This was good.

"Perfect, I will gladly accept it." His hoarse voice hissed a bit as she took the card-key and brought it upwards, and slid a piece of paper towards him, along with a pen. Well, it didn't really matter now, did it? "Of course," he said as he wrote down his name, Zs'Skayr, and placed the pen down. "How kind of you," he replied in response to the free food, not like he really needed it, but still it would be polite to 'thank' them. Taking the card-key, he nodded to Impa, "I will be quite the silent neighbor, no one will even know I'm here..." a small laugh escaped him as he gave an oddly soft smile and walked towards the elevator, taking it to the third floor.

Arriving at his room, he would enter and lock the door. "I will need to barricade that sometime," he mused as he looked over the room and basked in the darkness of it.
