Fiery was the very least of what the false Judge was going to describe this AI as once he was through.

KARR's engines revved once more, his optics noticing a sudden slump to the ghoul's posture as he was overrun with something. Was this what they meant by purging? Judge Fear's glance was noted but hardly obeyed, the AI's attention much too interested in dealing with these three creatures. However, as the Dark Judge went on, there appeared to be more to this than simply outrage over a missing member of their brotherhood.

A third wheel, baggage, tarnished image... Replaced. Of course, the reason why all this was transpiring, the backstabbing, their disgust at the Dark Judge... They had even ignored the AI's statement as he rebutted their claims. Had the Dark Judge sincerely feared being replaced by his brethren? Why else would they be so thick headed in their argument and stubborn to sway... All the while, a fourth Judge appeared, feminine in body and voice despite her decayed state. This woman, this new Judge Despair, he had not heard of any mention to her name in this incarnation or the one before it from the ghoul. Even then, if they were truly his brethren, why would they twist this knife so deeply instead of accepting him back to their ranks? Increased numbers only aided effectiveness and efficiency in their role.

Although, the AI could not help but notice that as more of Judges appeared, their heat signatures were beginning to drop... What kind of bluff was this? They needed to leave and fast. However, before the two toned vehicle could position itself behind Fear to better move him out of the alley, the telltale sound of an engine split the air, its source soon rounding the corner and staring him down. A Sleek black body, unmared by the dust and grime as it skidded to a halt, and the unmistakable color and drone of a red scanner bar. No... Him?

It had to be, the AI's own systems scanned him to be form for form, circuitry for circuitry; KITT. "You." KARR growled, engines revving dangerously. However, even then this incarnation appeared to have a low heat signature as well, despite the other tell-tale signs of it being the inferior copy. "I have and always will be the superior model, there is no beating the original." However, there were more interesting details to question. "Where is your driver, where is Michael Knight? This entire circumstance goes against your primary directive." He retorted, only to find himself veering out of the way as the vehicle sudden screamed towards him. That power... Even in the after wind of the car's passing his body shuddered. KARR knew he could possibly deal with the four Judges, but the copy AI...

"Judge Fear, we must leave, now! Your reunion with these obvious impostors can be attended later." He urged, swiftly sliding himself behind the ghoul with a scream of rubber and turbine engines. There was no time for warning as he suddenly lurched forward, slamming his nose into Judge Fear's prone backside and shunting him up onto his hood. Turbines screaming, he charged headlong towards the line of Dark Judges, knocking them aside in an attempt to remove Judge Fear from their influence.

And so the final nail in Judge Fear's coffin had been finally... hit.

They had to put him out of his misery, said Mortis.
He was nothing more than useless baggage, said Death.
And he routinely was the one to succumb first, said Fire.

    Weak...

    Embarrassing...

    A blight upon their name...

It was true, the ghoul was ashamed to admit. Judge Fear had pondered all of these distressing things in the past and sometimes more than once. Mantraps and deathly stares were hardly as impressive as something both Fire and Mortis could do, whose touch alone spread forth decay and flame with laughable ease. And, while the Dark Judge could ghost his hand into a sinner's heart and stop it entirely, Death could do the same thing. Judge Fear's gaze may be able to kill mortals in their tracks within mere seconds, but in order to purge an extraordinary crowd he required something like... oh, a live camera feed or television broadcast. Even then, his gaze was imperfect. Dredd, after all, had resisted the Dark Judge's stare - twice. Such failure was unacceptable, considering Dredd would not be able to resist Mortis' touch of decay or Fire's hellish prongs.

Demoralized, the ghoul hardly had the strength to prepare himself for what Death said immediately after.

The Inevitable wrote:"Replaced. We found a better, stronger follower in our just ways to fill the ranks."
His brother had spoken, and now Judge Fear's belief in this elaborate fantasy was cemented. He stared forlornly as a new Dark Judge, a woman by the looks of it, came into view and the ghoul felt truly sickened. Anderson. They had replaced him with Anderson.

"Despair is nothing more than a synonym for Fear," the Dark Judge hissed, detached and weary of this torture. How disgusting. He eyed Death, features unreadable as always, and beseeched them to get on with it. "If this is truly what you deem necessary, then make haste. You do nothing but waste precious time thinking to belittle me any further. I've heard enough." Just send him to spend an eternity in Hell with Dredd; at least the company would not be wasted as it was in this lifetime.

Anderson poised to strike and the prime of her deathly incarnation having only just begun, Judge Fear remained upright and made no sudden motions. The old must make room for the new, he supposed. A shame it had to go down this way, however. The ghoul had been expecting his spirit to go out with a blaze of glor -

    Screeech!
    ...THUMP!

So this was what it must be like to be an insect on the window shield.

Needlessly to say, Judge Fear had not been very aware of his surroundings and was incredibly surprised to find himself currently hitching a ride on K.A.R.R.'s hood. Quite uncomfortable, really. He dug his gnarled fingers around anything they could latch onto, the ride not exactly steady at these breathless speeds. "K.A.R.R.?" the stunned ghoul asked, ignoring the fact that his cape fluttered madly in the wind. "What are you doing? You cannot outrun from the law, K.A.R.R.; they will hunt me down until there is nothing left of this miserable world. Cease this foolish endeavour and - " Wait, where did that black vehicle come from? How... And then, after a well-placed bump on the backside by his ally, everything came flooding in at once.

Why wrote:"These beings both have the same temperature reading as the one labeled Fire."
Are wrote:And if you two are so genuine about having searched for your brother, why had he mentioned being unable to feel your presence when he had arrived here, or any of the other times he had reached out and searched for you?"
You wrote:"As I had stated before, neither of you are as you appear to be."
Always wrote:"Judge Fear, we must leave, now! Your reunion with these obvious impostors can be attended later."
    Right? wrote:"...imposters..."
I am a complete moron. Please, rename me to Judge Dummy! wrote:"There is something dwelling within the fishing town of Lochlann. It also uses the FEARS of others against them."
Amazing how the pieces fell into place after getting hit on the undead buttocks, wasn't it?

Judge Fear immediately hopped onto his feet, his nasty feet, and literally ran down the length of K.A.R.R.'s body; and yes, at breakneck speeds. Never mind that he rolled unceremoniously off a shoulder and brought himself out of a bone-jarring roll. "I'm not finished," the ghoul growled, rising up. Yes, this suppression was nothing short of devastating. Yes, his powers were currently all for naught. And yes, he was perhaps the most situational Dark Judge of the four.

    That didn't make him weak.
    That didn't make him embarrassing.
And that most certainly didn't make him a pushover.

"On second thought," Judge Fear began as he headed over to the other "Dark Judges" and monotone automobile. "Before you dispense of my body and rid this world of my very existence, I'd like to part with but one lasting word - if I may." You would humble a dying spirit's request, wouldn't you?

Facing the lot and making absolute sure they each had the best seat in the house, the Dark Judge reached up with a hand and slid one yellowed nail beneath his helm's grating. Let him show you why Judge Fear was not as useless as you claim. He suddenly pulled back his helm's paneling and bared its interior to all, a brilliant light of unexplainable origins casting itself over those foolish enough to look.

Such an easy conquest this psychic had proven to be! The automobile not so much, however.

Judge Despair's psi-attack could not reach fruition as the two-toned vehicle successfully absconded with its helmed driver. The second car, called K.I.T.T., had also finished with little to show for it. But, perhaps, this was as to be expected. Unbeknownst to their prey, the Dark Judges and and their vehicular counterpart were nothing more than illusions; exaggerated images subtly retrieved from their targets' memories. It was why no one pursued the fleeing K.A.R.R. when it thought to make its getaway. It was why the mirages instead chose to laugh, thinking victory theirs, as their opponents left in disgrace. Ah, but how wrong they were... For soon, without rhyme or reason, the only real and tangible Dark Judge decided he wanted more.

"What's this? Couldn't get enough of your first helping?" Death jeered.
The rest audible chuckled, too drunk off their own egos to rightfully heckle. Now, what did the emaciated fool want?

Ah, a last wish. Yes, that was certainly doable.

Judge Death shrugged, not fussed either way, and decided to humour the ghoul. "Do as you wish," he hissed, rictus grin still pulled taut. Given that the Dark Judge was well on his way to a permanent grave, what did they care? It was probably some monologue about how they had wronged him, or maybe something along the lines of them screwing themselves. Whatever it was, Judge Death hadn't a care in all the world and he was soon rolling a hand for Fear to hurry up. "Let's get this moving along, shall we? I can't keep waiting on a single sinner when there's an entire world to judge." Nothing personal, Fear. It was just, you know, business. Wait... what was... what was he...?

An unnatural light shone upon them and Death seized in horror, his mind realizing all too late that it had been a meager ruse.
    "No, don't look into his - !"

    Fear! wrote:"GAZE!"
And that is when falsehoods became truth, but not in the way that anyone had been expecting...

Each of the illusions burst into hellfire and smoke, the very air churning into a nightmarish inferno. A deafening rumble split the heavens and it was then, in that exact moment, that all Hell broke loose. Flames engulfed the street and a terrifying figure rose forth from the shadowy veil as claws of wicked intent slashed at the air.
Inferior avatar of terror! Champion of nothing! did a raspy voice shriek in the void, their voice penetrative. A monstrous foot, complete with flesh-rending talons and hardened plating, slammed heavily into the ground with an earth-shattering quake. How dare you think to unleash my fears, the rightful Lord of Terror!?

No longer seeing reason to keep up with this charade any longer, Diablo, Prime Evil and Ruler of Hell, stepped forth from the ravenous embers and at last revealed itself. It was a terrifying demon of gigantic size, taller than either driver and car, and its tail alone could topple them both with ease. Covered in a hide forged by Hell itself and tempered in eternal flame, none of K.A.R.R.'s fancy gadgetry or Judge Fear's mundane weapons would be able to break its surface. Atop its head was a crown of curled horns and wisps of heat trailed from it smoldering mouth, the crimson horror both a fusion of profane beauty and flawless execution. Its physique, oddly, was modeled after a female's...

Knowing that these two were now rendered powerless by its sheer presence, the demon began to press its advantage in earnest.

I am aware that you've been sent by the pale man known as Bloodscream, its voice whispered into the backs of mind and processor. Diablo audibly growled and flicked its lengthy tail with irritation. Did they believe themselves so sly? Fools! Such impudence is to be punished. It had been an amusing game of will, but now I grow tired of such trivial entertainment. You will not leave this place virgin.

No warning was given and no courtesy was offered. Diablo reared its great head and unleashed a mighty roar, the very pavement before it quickly turning to molten slag.
    "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGH!"

Their suffering now begins, the demon charging forth with all of its titan girth on a paltry Judge Fear! The demon shifted its weight upon one leg and whirled around with considerable force, Diablo's gruesome tail whipping across the entire street in an enraged bid to utterly obliterate its green-skinned nuisance.

Was this honestly all that it took to break the Dark Judge's will? And here the AI thought that being undead meant that he was far stronger than a human being, in nearly all aspects. Alas, that was not the case, as even while the AI was bravely rescuing his ally from a rather ridiculous and dramatic end he doubted his abilities. "We had not encountered anything of the sort before we came here, it must be logical to assume that we more than likely will leave these impostors behind when we leave this village as well." KARR replied coolly, keeping an optic on the impostors as they stood back laughing at their retreat. "Unless of course, you have a massive masochistic itch that must be scratched."

Alas, it appeared the ghoul was thinking of the latter, for not too long after they had ventured far enough away that Judge Fear could have a chance of common sense, he got to his feet, feet loudly banging down KARR's paneling as he effectively ran back towards the group, rolling upon the ground before getting to his feet. The AI screeched to a halt, tires smoking as he spun about to face the Dark Judge's back. "Judge Fear, we don't have time for parting words! Get over here so we can leave you simpleton--!"

    Modus Operandi Revealeth! wrote:

At once the copies twisted and cowered, their forms fading away into nothing it gave the AI no reassurance as he detected a massive spike in heat. What had the ghoul wrought in his rage?! KARR cautiously backed away as the ground split apart, his scanner pacing quickly from side to side. It was monstrous, loud, fiery... And it was incredibly irate. Was this the being that was behind all of the illusions, all the suffering and terror that the ghoul had encountered? The AI wasted no time in scanning over the being even as it raved at Judge Fear in outrage, declaring itself the Lord of Terror. However, its statement  about them not leaving virgin instantly triggered more than a few survival protocols within the AI's processor.

Tires screeched as the AI spun himself one-eighty, racing away towards the cover of the buildings as the ground was quickly melted down into bubbling molten stone and asphalt. "Judge Fear, run! This being is beyond both of us!" He warned loudly, his voice projecting and echoing off the surrounding houses. However, such an obvious statement was quickly drowned out by the creature's deafening roar, charging forward towards the Dark Judge to swipe him with a heavy, thick tail.

He watched as the ghoul was sent flying, however not to far as he would have thought. A glancing blow, however strong as it was. Immediately the AI raced over to the ghoul, opening his driver's side door in one fluid motion as the vehicle halted behind him. "Get IN, Judge Fear! As if I had not already said it enough, GET. IN." The AI urged once more, his voice nearly a snarl in tune with the anticipating rev of his engine. Once the ghoul had enough sense to crawl into the cockpit, KARR immediately slammed the door shut, uncaring of what may get caught within it as he raced off.

A route in mind, the AI raced at speeds that quickly rose into the triple digits. However, where exactly the route as lead had taken a short change in direction. Once having left the dangerous fishing village, KARR's body swiftly turned on the gravel road, bouncing as it left the road and swiftly ducked between trees and smashed through shrubbery and beast alike. On the outskirts of the village, quietly having been observing this entire ordeal so quietly with little aid, he stood.

    Bloodscream.

With a deafening roar of his own engines, the two-toned vehicle surged out from the forest's cover. A single pacing amber light glowed ferociously among a spray of wood splinters and disheveled leaves, the afternoon sun reflecting off his sleek, focused form. KARR slammed into the pale man with every intent of breaking him, either under tire or over his rigid armor. The sound of bone giving way to his might would be savored greatly, any splash of blood treated as a fine wine.

Hmm, that went better than expected - much better than expected. So well, in fact, that one could say the results had been explosive.

Death was quite smug as usual, even when apparently being this convincing illusion, and Judge Fear paid no heed. Now that he knew that these were not his brothers and that this had all been a complex lie, why should he? The ghoul's gaze reached out to all and they fell like flies one-by-one. That was, alas, where the troubles began to unfortunately manifest - physically manifest.

A furious voice rang within his helm as the land began to split, fire and smoke pouring upward from the earth's fresh wound. Wonderful, the ghoul thought dryly, observing the master behind all this puppetry granting the duo an audience. Judge Fear took several steps back, as was the adequate precautionary measure, and not a moment too soon. A towering demon, complete with a reinforced hide and covered from tail to horns in spikes and other unpleasant adornments, made itself known at last from its hellish pit and thought to work through means of intimidation. In short, it worked. This was, beyond a reasonable doubt, well out of their leagues and the ghoul didn't need to remind himself with K.A.R.R.'s words to realize this. Judge Fear wasn't about to leave this encounter without a bit of pride regained, however.

"If this avatar of terror is so inferior as you claim," he began, tone defiant, "then how is it that you lost your little game by simply matching my gaze?"

About that masochistic streak needing an itch, K.A.R.R....

The Dark Judge's audacity was rewarded with a scorching roar and a swift wallop of the creature's tail, Judge Fear flying through the air like ye olde pigskin. It served him right but the sass had been absolutely worth it. He landed with a bone-crunching THUD! a moderate distance away with both legs raised high. Well, it could be worse, couldn't it? And what was this about no longer being virgin?

That was their cue to leave and the ghoul rolled back onto both feet to reconvene with his ally. You needn't say it repeatedly, K.A.R.R., for the Dark Judge was not deaf! He immediately performed a swan dive into the vehicle's secure cockpit and barely had enough time to pull his feet in. "Drive!" Judge Fear demanded. Together they were off, racing far away from this wretched place, and with the way K.A.R.R. was driving one would think that the demon was fast upon their heels. It was not, interestingly, and the Dark Judge fought to remain steady inside the automobile's turbulent wake. Was it really necessary to crush everything beneath its wheels with wild abandon? Perhaps it was, for a familiar shade of silver hair could be seen shimmering in the dimmed sunlight.

    Bloodscream.

It would appear that both driver and car had synchronized their thoughts, leaving Judge Fear to activate the sunroof controls and poke the upper half of his body into broad daylight. "Mercenary!" he boomed powerfully, volume at near maximum. "We have not forgotten you and your fool's errand. Here, let us so generously bestow upon you the knowledge you so desperately crave!" You had much to answer for and the Dark Judge will make sure of that.

Think you could get away with this trickery? Think again.

After K.A.R.R. had ran over the pale man and drawn blood, Judge Fear whipped out a chained mantrap and threw it with purpose. Its steely teeth clasped around Bloodscream's lithe person and the ghoul kept his grip robust. "To an outlet!" he urged K.A.R.R., dragging their prize close behind. "Take our disingenuous companion to an outlet so we may have a badly-needed discussion with him."

Bloodscream thinks himself rather wise to keep far away from what is no doubt a wasps nest that is about to be poked. Things do seem quiet for a time, but as he suspects it quickly goes right to hell. Literally. The demon's true form rose into view in an explosion of fire and fury. Its form towering over all of Lochlann and those present. Its form and power, awe inspiring, and mind crushingly terrifying.

Perhaps this plan had not been well thought out. Bloodscream would have to run this new information by Miss Hallow and Prixlezub. That is, if he lived to tell about it.

What was that noise? Looking over towards the fire Bloodscream saw K.A.R.R. shoot out of the village and make a sharp turn in his direction. Idiot vehicle! It was going to lead the demon straight to him! Or at least that was what he thought, until he noticed that the automobile showed no sign of slowing. Bloodscream made a quick dodge to the side, but the edge of the car managed to knick his arm. The bone shattering and the skin bruising before it started to heal. That little-!

Judge Fear wrote:"Mercenary! We have not forgotten you and your fool's errand. Here, let us so generously bestow upon you the knowledge you so desperately crave!"

The merciless jaws of a large man trap clamped down on his body and his body was dragged across the ground. With ever cut, bump and bruise the immortals fury grew until it could no longer be contained. Good thing they were far away from Lochlann now. Planting his feet deep into the dirt Bloodscream dug in his heels and pulled on that chain.

Come here Judge Fear. Bloodscream would like to have a word with you.

With a hearty thump of flesh against smooth metal, the immortal man had received a small but painful bout of retribution. Although the AI would have enjoyed giving the man more than a simple knick, it would have to suffice, for the ghoul had other ideas about their... Companion. Wordlessly the AI complied, turning off and out into the wilderness, purposely running through every thorn patch, exposed rock and even a few unwitting porcupines for good measure. Look at the woods, Bloodscream, look how lively they were this time of year! And the AI wanted nothing more than the immortal to see all of its wonders up close and personal.

Especially that patch of poison ivy.

Alas, what did the pale man expect? Did he truly believe that they would simply return obediently with nothing but absolute cheer after their perilous endeavor? Regardless, the joy ride out into the untamed woods had to be cut short, for their drag-along passenger was growing quite irate himself. "Judge Fear, let go of the chain!" He quickly warned as the pale man planted his feet firmly in the dirt.

While the AI was unsure if the immortal could stop his own momentum, he knew that the ghoul would be torn right out of the sun roof if he was not quick on his feet, or in this case, his hands. KARR skidded to a halt on the frozen ground, snow pluming up behind his tires and over his paneling. As the snow and dust settled, KARR's scanner paced from side to side, monitoring the immortal's movements. Agreement or not, he knew above all that the immortal wanted information, and he would not get it if they were destroyed outright.

Indeed, the forest was quite lovely this time of year!

The Dark Judge never once relinquished his control of the pale man, Judge Fear instead savouring every moment of Bloodscream's delicious suffering. Served the ruddy man right, it did! Ungrateful mercenary... Did Bloodscream honestly believe that he was going to leave this afternoon unscathed? Unlikely! The ghoul howled with sadistic glee and found himself far too entertained at K.A.R.R.'s methods of persuasion. Jagged rocks, bountiful patches of poison ivy, and even a family of porcupine quills would be giving the mercenary company on this scenic drive! Oh K.A.R.R., never change. "To a cliff!" Judge Fear demanded, eagerly pointing straight ahead. "Take him to a cliff so we may dangle his undead corpse over a perilous ravine and enjoy his pleas for mercy!"

But the mercenary had other ideas and Judge Fear glanced over an armoured shoulder to spy Bloodscream wriggling around back there. Up to something, hmm? The ghoul shifted his weight and turned around, ethereal gaze now directed at their fresh catch as the wind noisily whipped past his helm. What was that mercenary doi - !?

    TWANG!

Suddenly the chain grew taut, links tense enough to produce an audible snap!, and the Dark Judge found himself grappling his victim with both hands in place of one. "We have a live one!" he laughed emphatically, supernatural strength fighting to control the line. Judge Fear hissed out of pure satisfaction and disregarded K.A.R.R.'s concern, the ghoul already having a plan of his own. Without further warning and no doubt at the vexation of his computerized ally, the Dark Judge steadily climbed his way out from K.A.R.R.'s cockpit and and wasted no time throwing himself at Bloodscream. Like the zealous spirit of the grave that the fiend was, Judge Fear glided through the air with his cape billowing and greeted the mercenary with outstretched claws. Welcome your death as you would justice, iniquitous brethren!

Impact was none other than a hearty - WHACK! - and both creatures of undeath slammed into each other at maximum force. The larger of the two monsters and garbed in weighty armour, Judge Fear broke his tumble quickly and was already leaping to his feet. "Greetings, sinner!" the Dark Judge enthusiastically shouted at his pallid foe. Mantrap chain still in hand and having not forgotten it, Judge Fear harshly yanked the metal cable in an attempt to jerk Bloodscream directly to him.

Come to your fate, mercenary! Come and embrace your pending judgement!

His cruel action had given him a perfect opportunity and the ghoul reached down for a second mantrap resting upon his bony hip. "It is time to rejoice, for your sins are about to be purged!" The Dark Judge's weighty accessory now being touted as a steely pair of knuckledusters, Judge Fear pulled his fist sharply back and absolutely let the mercenary's unblemished chin have it. Hope you hadn't intended on dating for several weeks.

    WHANGGG!

How about we dangle you by your ankles in the swamp you rancorous walking corpse. Bloodscream pulls harder at the chain, and Judge Fear seems more than content to come to him.

Judge Fear wrote:"Greetings, sinner! It is time to rejoice, for your sins are about to be purged!"

I think not! He says as he dodges the Dark Judges blow with ease. He is furious at this so called "Dark Judge" this "dispenser of justice", how dare he and freakish automobile attack him when he has so generously extended his hand in help them. How dare they run from as soon as their task is done and turn on him?! Oh? Were they not happy about something? Well too bad! Even if they were possessed by the curse of the demon Bloodscream was not having any of it. He would not be run over and treated in such a way!

He struck out at the judge, his blows aiming for his chest. To break the bones that lay there. Grabbing on to the material of his clothes he raised the Dark Judge high and brought him down onto the ground with all of his inhuman strength.

Super Strength (melee): --Bloodscream's cursed state grants him the vampiric characteristic of super strength at the cost of some vitality. Adds dice to Bloodscream's physical attacks.
