    [!] For Those of You...

Post by Jherrek on Tue Jan 07, 2014 4:25 pm

    January 4th, 11:59am

    Jherrek's preparations were complete.

The roof, which the Innmaster had so graciously allowed him to use, was now a safe haven from the cold. Red glowing marks all along the outskirts of the roof keep the space comfortably warm. What seems like a small ball of fire floats above each rune and they pulse as if with a heartbeat. Six generic chairs are in a circle around a large diagram of runes in the center. Each rune carefully crafted, almost as if it was a computer font, and perfectly placed for temporary use. The whole diagram shimmers slightly with light, lighting the area and casting shadows behind the chairs. He wonders for a moment whether or not it was a good idea to make it so large, it might attract unwanted attention... but the need was greater to make it big. He really wants to get his point across, and visual runes are the best for that. He also made sure there was ample space around the corner of the roof for the dragon, or drai, Arrogath. He had missed his acquaintance. The drai had a certain calm yet feral nature that appealed to him, and he was glad that he was coming to aid him and his brother.

He was rather happy with the outcome, though only a couple of them seemed familiar on paper. However, he wasn't going to complain. Help came, and it did so with haste, so he was happy for that. His only solemn hope is that there were people on their way here due to actual concern for his brother. He had to have made good friends, right? That would be the choice outcome.

Jherrek turns on the spot and heads toward the middle chair, which was slightly behind the rest, and he sits in it backwards, looking at the door to the roof.

And now he waits. Ready to start this... Endeavor.

Sure enough, one week after Jherrek had posted the request for help on the Bulletin Board, it was time for those that had signed up to meet. He had set the meeting for the Stock Pot Inn, so with Ryo-Ohki in tow atop her shoulder, that was just where Ryoko headed.

Teleporting into the city just about half a block away from the inn, the former space pirate flew towards it, inwardly wondering just where he might have set the meeting up. There were some meeting rooms to be sure, but she knew well enough by now that those were scarcely the only good place for a meeting at the inn. As she flew closer though, it appeared that the answer to her pondering was right in front of her.

"Well Ryo-Ohki, looks like we'll be meeting on the roof."

    "Myaa!"

As Ryoko flew to the roof of the Stock Pot Inn, she immediately noticed the red, glowing marks, the small fireballs above the runes gave a soft, inviting glow to the area, and more than that, they were apparently set to help keep it warm. The former space pirate had a rather impressive cold tolerance, especially since she could survive in the vacuum of space without succumbing to frigid temperatures, but she did appreciate the effort he went to here.

Ryoko soon touched down on the room, landing near the circle of chairs that had been arranged. It looked as though she was the first one here, save Jherrek of course… if that's who this was. Given the way everything was set up as well as the somewhat familiar nature of the runes, he certainly seemed to be.

Moving towards the chairs, Ryoko greeted, "Hey. You must be Jherrek. I like the setup here."

Honestly, Uriel’s pretty-haired brother (who she currently can’t remember the name of but she was fairly sure she had a nickname for him) could not pick a poorer date to arrange a meeting. Saturday and almost noon in the retail industry is prime time, you know! Nonetheless, somehow or the other, Xiao managed to get out of work just before the meeting was scheduled to start and was currently being blasted over with the strongest wind her flute could summon.

In fact, the gust of wind was so strong and she was too busy being distracted by the fancy magic that now adorned the inn’s roof she completely overshot the building and had to perform an aerial U-turn back. “OH LOOKIE, IT’S KOKO!” Oh wait, distracted again and overshot again. She’ll get the hang of this one way or another!

Another turnaround! Drop the wind! Slow down on approach! Land in a roll! Morph to human form mid-roll! Tackle hug the space pirate with a squee! “Aaaaa~ I missed your hair. Oh hello Ryo-ohki!”

Right, right, stop nuzzling Ryoko’s hair for a moment. We’re here for serious business. Her friend, Uriel is missing with something-Hoggy probably taking over his body and probably burning down another forest out there. They must work fast in order to save Uriel and all the unknown forest’s animals!

With a bit of reluctance, Xiao detached from the space pirate’s hair, turned and faced Uriel’s brother. “Hello RekRek!” Ah! That was the nickname she gave him. Smart Xiao Xiao. Clever Xiao Xiao. You remembered. Oh dear gods above, she forgot how pretty his hair was. NO! Don’t be mesmerised! Business! Serious business!

The yaojing straightened up, curled her tail around herself and took a seat.

Kev had come back to check the board and seen that there was a note from Uriel's brother; a time and date to meet up, as well as a location. Roof of the Inn, January 4th, noon. It sounded pretty doable to him! Even better, he was gonna keep it warm up there. How? Pfft, probably magic or something. It was always magic or some kind of weird technology. In fact, maybe it was technology! Some sort of magical heat making device! Like...a heater. Huh. Guess its not that weird.

In any case, Kev was in his typical winter outfit! Parka, scarf, hat, underwear *with pants over them of course*. Making his way to the Inn was easy enough, and he made a quick pit stop to greet Link, Link, Impa and Sheik before he went up to the roof. He ascended the stairs and raised a brow at the runes all over the roof. And true to his word? It felt pretty warm! He even shed his parka, suddenly feeling a bit overheated. "So its magic after all..." At least, he assumed these little symbols were magic. He made his way to the chairs, looking to see who was here.

Well, there was Uriel's brother, as to be expected. A woman with white hair, vaguely familiar? Perhaps he had seen her around during an Apocalypse, those things could get so busy! On her shoulder was a...cat? Bunny? Whatever it was it was cute! And there was a Xiao Xiao too! "Xiao Xiao!" He made his way to the squirrel demon, though he sent waves to the mysterious woman and her bunny-cat, and Uriel's brother. "Its so good to see you again~!" Even if these were perhaps not the best circumstances...dragon possessed friend and all.

Grodus had sensed a bit of what was being set up on the roof earlier, but he couldn't quite tell what it was, other than some form of magic was being used. It was only when he finally headed up after the others he'd observed entering the building that he got to see just what sort of spellwork was put into place on top of the inn.

He was a bit surprised to find the roof was comfortably warm, though as he observed the glowing runes scattered about he had a good explanation for it. There was another array of runes in the center of the roof, with chairs set around it, and one of those chairs in particular seemed to hold the one who called them all here. "Ah, you must be Jherrek . . . I am Grodus; it's a pleasure to meet you."

A gust of wind announced Arro's arrival. He wheeled down out of the sky with alarming stealth, whisking out of the clouds like a phantom in broad daylight.

He regarded the gathered figures from his dwindling distance, their forms growing as the air rushed past his features. The faint runes bordering the roof pulsed faintly in the daylight, the fires they fueled brightened the faces of those cast in shadow. None of the participants were foreign to him this time around, though he knew some better than others. As their huddled bodies approached full height, he pulled up atop a taller adjacent building; wings whirling behind him to slow his descent, and dropped down from there to the gathering place Jherrek had cleared. The rush of warm air was unexpected, and he flared his scales out to release some of his own trapped body heat to compensate. The knowledge that this venue was chosen as a result of his involvement struck him with unease, another reminder among the many that he'd never again set foot in a place intended for drai to walk. These realizations aside, he was grateful for Jherrek's forethought.

Arro settled quietly on one of the roof's corners, cloaking his wings around him as he sat upright on his haunches. He remained quiet while the others effectuated the formalities, adding his own voice only after the rest had been addressed.

"Greetings all," he began as he moved his gaze around the roof, fixing his eyes on each face in turn. "It's good to see you again Jherrek; I'm sorry it's not under better circumstances."

And last but not least arrived the Leopard Warrior, his muscular form scaling an inn building. A great shadow vaulted itself upward and was soon followed by a hearty thump from nearby. Unlike the gust of a dragon's wings or a familiar cry, his entrance was given away by the characteristic ring of metal lightly scraping against tile. "Apologies," the warrior spoke up, approaching the circle of collected persons. "This city and all of its wonders are not yet known to me." He then paused and studied the floating runes all around, drawing his own unspoken conclusions. A runic sorcerer...? Maybe and then again maybe not, but that was not immediately essential to why the Leopard Warrior was drawn here. He returned his gaze to the one responsible for this meeting and acknowledged the man's presence with a nod.

"When you are ready to begin this mission, my blade will be right behind you," the Leopard Warrior reassured quietly. He also locked eyes with Arro briefly and tipped his head the dragon's way, indicating that his memory had not forgotten their teamwork earlier this year. There was also the scaly alien known as Kev, whom the Leopard Warrior had helped during Ra Moon's devastation. The rest, however, were new faces and the Leopard Warrior was content to observe them from a far. Although... had he met the woman with striking blue hair before? She seemed... familiar, somehow.

    Hmm...

Post by Jherrek on Thu Jan 09, 2014 7:42 pm

    {Great! Everyone is here! The post order will just be Jherrek and then everyone. Let us begin!}

Jherrek barely moves as Ryoko appears. He simply stands and turns, bowing slightly. He straightens and puts the leather cord in his hair. After he does so, a squirrel... scratch that, Xiao Xiao almost lands on Ryoko. He blinks and smirks fakely at the Yaojing. He wasn't really one for putting on masks in the current situation. He greets Kev and Grodus with a small nod each, not saying anything at all. His eyes are cold and calculated at the moment, the silver disks on the verge of glowing. It has taken quite a toll on the Syn'ya, the falling of his brother, and if one would be truly observant, they would notice it quickly.

Jherrek blinks once as Arro appears, he bows his head yet again to the arrival and apologies. The sight of Arrogath somehow soothed his small amount of anxiety. Mostly due to how much he respects such creatures, and the wisdom of another dragon is invaluable in this circumstance.

He blinks in some amount of surprise as Guin appears, who begins to talk in an ...archaic? fashion, and quickly confirms his alliance to Jherrek's aim. Well, that's nice. The corner of his lips tilt upward for a moment in thanks. He hasn't seen anything like the cat-like people of his homeland, but the Leopard-warrior fits his own images of the Nykit. He blinks away those thoughts and simply nods in appreciation to the warrior.

Jherrek steps forward once, toward his rune circle. The large circular diagram slightly shifts as he comes near it, and his gloves shine with white-silver runes on the palms.

"Greetings, all of you. For formalities sake, I thank you all for coming in my... brother's hour of need."

He flicks his hands up, and half of the runes on the ground shoot skyward, then come back to orbit around a single orange rune in the middle, at eye's height of Jherrek. The Syn'ya begins moving the runes with his hands, overlapping the ones that need to combine to make the visual happen. After a second, the perfect representation of Uriel stands before him. The visual doesn't even look faded, it's as if the Angel of Music is actually before them. Standing still with a smirk on his face.

"If you don't mind, the situation is dire, and I'm all for getting down to business. This is Uriel, for those of you who do not know him. He is my brother, and as I have explained on the bulletin board: He has been possessed by the dragon, Niddhogg."

Jherrek gestures again, and the same thing that happened for Uriel happened next to his brother. However, this rune was larger and a blood red. The visage of Niddhog shows. Uriel shrinking to show his size truly. The Niddhogg visualization towers over the group. Even making Arro look small by comparison.

"This... is said dragon. I know he seems daunting, but that's ... an understatement. But that is why I have a plan. Are you all very understanding that this is going to be dangerous? Life-threatening, even?"

Jherrek asks, but he doesn't look at anything but the glowing figures in front of him, he is focused, and waiting on your confirmation.

Post by Space Pirate Ryoko on Thu Jan 09, 2014 9:34 pm

After returning Jherrek's bow with a nod of her own, Ryoko glanced up as she thought she heard someone flying by only to watch as Xiao Xiao appeared in the sky… only to completely overshoot the inn. She pulled around and made another pass… just to overshoot her mark again at having spotted her. The third time proved to be just the one though as no sooner had the yaojing swung around than had she dropped to the rooftop. With rolling landing and morph to her human form, the former space pirate was soon caught in a tackle-hug.

"Heh-heh, hey Xiao," replied Ryoko, giving her friend a half hug back as best she could from this angle.

"Myaa!" Ryo-Ohki greeted, feeling very happy to see the squirrel demon again. It was going to be an interesting party, she could just feel it! But a familiar face was always welcome in the cabbit's book!

As Xiao Xiao released her, Ryoko smiled to the green alien, returning his wave and inwardly feeling pretty sure she'd seen him at least in the briefest of passing before. "Hey there." Well, crises could form good bonds, and maybe this was no exception. After all, it was how she had met Tally.

A strange sorcerer introducing himself as Grodus was the next to arrive, right before the hard-to-miss orange form of a dragon alighted on the edge of the roof. This was Arro, wasn't he? The former space pirate didn't know the dragon outside of passing, but she had heard plenty about him from her mother. Shortly after the thought, the leopard-headed warrior to complete the gathered sestet. Now this guy, Ryoko knew right out that he seemed very, VERY familiar to her… for the life of her though, she couldn't quite remember where she had encountered him. It was odd to say the least, but at least he was familiar to her.

With a respectful nod to him regardless, Ryoko then moved to lean against the back of one of the chairs as Jherrek started to speak. Some fancy hand movements soon led to a projection of Uriel's likeness being set right in front of them. Narrowing her golden gaze as she focused on the image of the Syn'ya, the former space pirate listened carefully to Jherrek's words, somehow managing to suppress a slight snarl at the mention and added display of Niddhogg. That damn dragon… why the hell was he showing his face again? As for Ryo-Ohki though, she hissed at it from her perch atop her 'sister's' shoulder… yet despite her own thoughts at seeing this thing, she was just as ready to help out here as she could.

Ryoko's own focus matched Jherrek's as she listened to his questions, letting a single beat pass before she stated, "Yes, I understand. I've dealt with this thing before and I'm ready to tackle it again."

Post by Xiao Xiao on Fri Jan 10, 2014 5:33 pm

Whilst a bit more knowledgeable than she was when she first arrived into this world, Xiao Xiao still does not have the attentiveness nor to intelligence to tell if a smile was fake or not. As far as she was concerned at the moment of Jherrek's return greeting, she was faced with the dilemma of staying by pretty haired Ryoko's side or to wander over in hypnotised awe to the pretty haired angel's side.

Thankfully, Kev's arrival and greeting to herself saved her from having to choose. "Hello Mr. Kev!" Another familiar face. Wonderful~

No sooner had she greeted him when another person arrived, this one with a wonderfully round and dare she say SHINY head. Xiao cannot help but stare, fingers rather itching to reach out and touch the dome of the new person's head. Oh my, it looked so.... polish-able!

So distracted was she by the new person (was that robes? Ooo fancy!) that the gust of wind that signals Arro's landing surprised her into letting loose a squeak. Once she did see who it was though, her eyes narrowed. The dragon. Xiao first, last and only encounter with the dragon had been during the forest fire where she had mistaken him for wanting to devour Uriel. The misunderstanding was of course cleared pretty quickly but her own rather petty nature had yet to place Arro into her good books yet. She wasn't even sure if she should greet him or not! Should she be rude or should she b-- Xiao froze.

Oh....gods.... oh gods ohgodsohgodsohgodsohgods oh....leopard. LEOPARD! Well, strictly speaking, it was a man with a leopar--WHAT WAS HE WEARING?! Correction. WHAT WAS HE NOT WEARING?! She didn't...what is... Xiao's eyes went straight to the floor. The floor was safe. The floor was her friend. Speaking of friends, she took an inconspicuous step so that she was behind Kev and Ryoko. Oh heavens, leopard. Leopard! It was a leopard! A very, very underclothed leopard man. Uriel, if you were not a friend, she would had bolted out of here already.

As the image of the missing Syn'ya was brought up, her attention was directed back to the business at hand. (Yes, be professional, ignore the leopard man and stop imagining very sharp teeth snacking on squirrels) Xiao hands reached and sought comfort in Ryoko's hair as the next visualisation was the one of another dragon. She fought the urge to puff up her tail and hiss. Instead she took a deep breath and said, "I faced Uriel once when he was possessed by this..." Well, she wanted to day ]thing but that might be very, very rude especially in front of another dragon. "...Dragon. He caused a great forest fire. Is he going to be even more dangerous than he was that time? I'm... here to help regardless."

Grodus took an appraising glance at the others who had joined them on the roof. Well, at least the cat-headed man seemed to look like a strong fighter, though he wasn't very sure of the others. Focusing his sensors a bit more, he was soon able to detect some of their power, and he felt a bit more reassured. Hopefully this dragon they were apparently going after would pay more attention to them as they were much stronger targets than he currently was.

Soon enough, Jherrek began his presentation of sorts, activating the piece of runecraft in the center of the roof and causing it to display an image of his brother first of all. With that done, the young man soon displayed another image, this one much, much larger. So, this was the ferocious dragon, Niddhog? It was impressive to be sure, but Grodus was no stranger to huge beasts like this one . . . the dragons residing around Rogueport were somewhat smaller, but every bit as capable of violence.

The technomage ran Jherrek's warning through his processors, and even as much as he would have rather avoided danger, there was really no getting around this. Not if he wanted to regain his strength, at any rate. "Yes, of course. I am quite new here and still suffering from the weakness that goes with it. If participating in conflicts like this is the only way to grow stronger, then I have no choice . . . "

He returned Jherrek's nod, and nodded back to the mysterious woman's greeting as well. Her little creature made some really adorable little noises too! He'd have to wait for a more appropriate time to ask her about her little friend, because he'd like to know more about it. He chuckled good-naturedly at Xiao's greeting, not really used to being called 'Mr.'. "Hiya!" He turned around to face the others coming in, the first he spotted was an odd fellow, but one he'd seen before. "Grody, right?" Something along those lines! Arro, too big to walk up the steps, lingered in the skies before settling himself down on a corner of the building. "Hi Arro!" Also not using the stairs was a very distinctive man indeed. A man with a leopard's head in place of a human's. "Leopard Warrior! Oh I haven't seen you in months!" In fact it was practically a year.

Jherrek stood up, which probably meant the Leopard Warrior was the last person they were waiting on. Kev found his seat and looked to Jherrek quietly. Using the runey thingies, Jherrek made some sort of visual representation of Uriel, Kev observing the details. Yep yep, that looked like Uriel to him! He created another though, a bigger one. In blood red visuals, there was a large dragon. How such a large creature could fit inside Uriel, he wasn't sure. But boy was it intimidating...Kev glanced to the woman, who said she'd dealt with this Niddhog before. Xiao also faced it too! Kev blinked in slight surprise and wondered where the heck he'd been for these happenings. At least he was here now, right? No one seemed to have any objections so far though! "This is Portal Breach, danger and life threatening situations happen everyday~! I'll help as much as I can to save Uriel and bring him back to normal!" The new Uriel was sort of creepy...

Guin was the last to arrive, clambering over the side of the building and vaulting over the edge to join the small gathering. Arrogath dipped his head to the man, then turned his attention to Jherrek. He thanked them all for their attendance, then got down to the business of explaining the situation.

The silver haired orchestrator flicked his hands up to shoulder height. Trailing after their fingertips rose a company of runes, and set circling in their center appeared a larger orange symbol. The ethereal images then rushed together, their glowing forms multiplying until, stacked, they formed a three dimensional representation of Uriel Akirr. Arro's red head tilted at the most imperceptible of angles, observing the remarkable life-like vision that Jherrek had produced. A trick of the syn'ya's world. He then went on to duplicate the feat a second time. But unlike the first, this set of runes grew to tower over them all. The figure of Uriel shrunk accordingly, suggesting that the new character was even larger still. When it fully materialized, Nithokkr the malice striker was standing atop the Stock Pot Inn. The drai was of a tall but lanky build, of a similar shade of red as himself and with a crown composed of double horns, accompanied by a minor set jutting from the lower jaw. His tail likewise sported the same spaded tip, and his wingspan just as long, though a little thin of coverage. The body proportions were more humanoid than drai, but for a dragon from another reality, he was remarkably similar to Arro's own race. He guessed by looking at him that he'd be stronger than himself in some aspects, but slower on the move.

Arrogath regarded the vision with hidden judgement. Not sure yet what to make of this kin-that-was-not-kin.

He broke from his focus upon hearing Jherrek's next question, and gave the silver man an inclination of the brow.

"I'm with you, Jherrek" he said simply. The mention of danger drew no pause.

Ah, so that was the man's brother... A lean young man with short-cropped hair and an infectious smile. As for the dragon in question, this Niddhogg? It was a towering beast plated in crimson scale and eager to devour worlds. The Leopard Warrior had faced many great foes out in the wilderness where he had once hailed, where size and girth mattered to the common adventurer. On Portal Breach, however, were even goliaths the size of mountains could be felled? He had confidence that this group, no matter their strange and eclectic composition, would free Uriel from Niddhogg's grasp and bring peace to Jherrek. Miracles happened once before, had they not? "We will rescue your brother and end this dragon's reign of tyranny," assured the Leopard Warrior. "No task too small or too big is impossible for the citizens of Portal Breach. I have learned this lesson personally twice since my journey here. You are in good hands, Jherrek."

After all, the man already had a gathering of like-minded individuals who were willing to throw their lives into the thick of danger to save his brother. The Leopard Warrior knew not who many of these people were, but he was grateful that they had showed up in order to accomplish the great. He directed his amber eyes to Kev, whiskers twitching. "It is good to see you as well, Kev. I hope the seasons have blessed you with fortune," he calmly replied.

A timid woman not had not escaped the Leopard Warrior's eye but he reasoned that his lack of attire was unbecoming for a young maiden. Perhaps he could fashion some armour out of Niddhogg's hide if that was not too upsetting or crude?

Jherrek lowers his hands and reaches into his pocket and pulls out his small tome. Turning on the spot, he places his jacket on the chair he had assigned himself. He nods at each machine, person, demon, leopard, after they pledge to the cause. Good. Even if it's for the gain of power, in Grodus's case, the help was shown as appreciated. He turns back to his Visual Rune Diagram and takes a deep breath.

"Thank you. Now that you are understanding of the danger, here is what I propose..."

Jherrek opens his tome placing his palm over a page quickly as it flashes in his face. He winces and pulls his hand up, his fingers showing light through the cracks. He takes his other hand and closes it in front of him. Niddhogg and Uriel's visages turn back into singular runes again, red and orange, and then they overlap, showing Uriel as he is now. Spike armor and draconic features. Six horns, dragon wings, and a tail adorn the former Syn'ya.

"Uriel has made some sort of pact with Niddhogg. Most likely under great influence from the beast. In that process, Uriel has become Fallen. Revoking what he truly is, a Syn'ya. Both angel and human. Others call us Nephalim, et cetera. However, when are Fallen, we become a perversion of what we once were. Twisting his abilities and presence. Niddhogg has embraced my... rather weak-willed brother in this time. What I wish to do is separate the two beings. Which won't be easy, due to his violent nature at the moment. Once he is subdued or unconscious, I will undo the runes that bind the beast to Uriel. How my brother bound himself to the beast is complicated, but I can easily destroy his work if he is... compliant."

Uriel, in runic visual form, falls to his knees, and the red aura and armour around him blinks out of existence. The runes along the musiqual angel's arms dissipate and he falls to the ground.

Jherrek opens his light-filled hand and places it inside the visualization. A great rune appears above his brother, a great cross with a ring of runes around it. It shines like a small sun on the roof.

"This is called the Mark of the Revenant. It was once used before me by the god of our realm, The Light of Torren. On my other brother, Nieradaze. I have been doing research on my former world's runes, and have stumbled upon the makings of this rune. It is used to restore a Syn'ya's abilities, but... never again will they wear their divine wings nor halo. He will be changed, but at least he will no longer be fallen. Another issue... Uriel must except what he has done as wrong. Which... I'm not sure if that will take any convincing or not."

Jherrek turns away from his diagram as the mark of the revenant disappears and Uriel's form is just darkened. He blinks a few times, moving silver strands of hair from his face. He truly hopes that his brother understands, if not now, later, that what he has become is... truly wrong.

"Does everyone understand?" His voice rings out atop the roof. Not a command. A plea.
