"There is no need to unload our cargo." And there was no time, either. As for the matches? The Dark Judge shrugged, not particularly bothered. He had much bigger sinners to fry! And, ironically, that is exactly what the ghoul was about to do.

With K.A.R.R. off to distract the lich and keep its attention occupied, Judge Fear hobbled in the background as if he were a wintry specter. Dark clothing had its advantages, after all. Rotten feet softly crunched in the snow as putrid fluids stained Judge Fear's footprints, the ghoul's searing gaze combing the land all around. Where was it, where was it... Aha! There it was, and the Dark Judge hastily reached down to snap up his current item of interest. It was, as expected, the pitchfork from before and the ghoul rotated it experimentally to get a feel. "It is no trident but it shall do," he supposed. It simply must. Kerosene and matches still in his thoughts, the Dark Judge doused the pitchfork's tines with flammable liquids and retrieved a match.

    ...crack!

    FWOOWSH!

The pitchfork erupted into a glorious pillar of cleansing fire, Judge Fear's armoured accents basked in its hellish glow. "Yessss..." the ghoul hissed, pleased. He admired its crackling flames for a moment, enthralled with memories of past, and lowered his augmented weapon as the Dark Judge's unwavering sights fixated on the lich. "And now," whispered Judge Fear, "it is time to purge the wicked from this world and abolish sin." He drew the kindled pitchfork parallel to the ground and charged, its righteous glow stark against the bleak field of snow.

Like an ardent Templar having risen from the grave to chase and snap at Hell's heels did Judge Fear descend upon the lich, his desire to inflict justice upon his foe ravenous. "Let the fire of justice CONSUME you!" the ghoul cried, pitchfork raised.

He plunged its heated tines into the lich mercilessly, the smell of burning flesh overpowering. Now he could see why his brother loved their work.

Alas, the false Lich was far more determined and quick than KARR realized. Mere seconds before his bumper could even graze the ex-priest, he sidestepped him with little effort, leaving the Trans-Am to scream on past instead of causing any damage. It had to be for the best, however, the AI still had his attention... Although at this rate he could not do so for much longer. His systems were once again loudly warning of energy depletion, and already he could feel the drag on his performance.

Perhaps if he were to eject the cargo from his trunk? He would be faster, surely, but the drain had already been done. It would take time before he would be able to operate at optimal effectiveness again.

    Clunk! Thunk!

...But his adversary was still going strong despite the AI's best efforts. Rocks bumped and bounced off his paneling, two of them aimed well enough to bounce off his scanner. For a short moment the world flickered and became filled with static before clearing up, a detail that forced the vehicle to reverse a few feet. He had to stay out of range of his arm, and find a way to catch it off guard. Luckily, the how of that question appeared quickly enough.

Farther off the AI detected an intense increase in heat, a familiar hiss accompanying its birth. The Dark Judge's tactics were unorthodox and creative, but as he approached and attempted to plunge the fiery weapon into the Lich's body, it became apparent that his aim needed improvement. Regardless, it was an opportunity that the AI dared not waste, lurching forward with his wheels spinning against the slick snow. His targeting systems locked onto the ex-priest's decaying form, a warning announced to the Dark Judge at the last moment. "Move!" He barked, before throwing himself into a slide.

Loose snow sprung up before the car's body in an ivory wave, as its body quickly turned and began drifting sideways. It's momentum to great to be stopped by the elements or creature alike, KARR's two toned flank slammed into the Lich in an attempt to knock it over.

As for the rest, he trusted Judge Fear to figure it out quickly enough.

Could you feel your strength beginning to wane, machine? The Lich certainly could sense it. Every toss of his stony projectiles pressured the vehicle to move further away, an obvious sign of damage, though he doubted it could feel pain. An approving, sadistic hiss escaped from his throat, steam and black mist pouring from where his jaw once had been.

He began to advance forward, bony feet crunching in the snow and broken bones crackling with every step. Soon it would be too weak to fight back, and then the Lich would be able to indulge in ripping and snapping apart every single circuit and tube of its innards. And its driver, he would enjoy rending them limb from limb when they returned.

Dat Pitchfork wrote:"Let the fire of justice CONSUME you!"

    Speaking of which...

"HISSSSGHH!" Widly bending and contorting himself, the Lich weaved and ducked away from the undead's fervent strikes. Fire licked and snapped close to his robes, threatening to engulf him should he stray too close to the pitchfork's points. However, the lesser undead was showing fatigue, weak and slowed in his strikes. It would take far more than a creative use of kerosene and a match to destroy his superior-!

    WHUMP!

The vehicle's announcement coming far too late for his ears, the Lich was abruptly sent forward. Arms waving erratically and hissing in absolute bewildered fury, he tumbled face first into the snow with a plush thump.

"HhhhHHrrrgh..." An arm reaching up from his place on the ground, the Lich's bony fingers groped for purchase on Judge Fear's ankle, digging his claws into the undead's putrid skin.

Nope, Judge Fire had the most terrible job of all.

The Dark Judge brought the pitchfork up and crashed it down upon one knee, effectively snapping the inflamed weapon in two. "What a poor method of execution," he determined, throwing the useless halves aside. The crackling flames were extinguished immediately and no longer was the ghoul bathed in hellfire. Served him right, he supposed, although it had been an amusing, if not brief, thought to entertain.

Judge Fear casually stepped aside as K.A.R.R. literally plowed through the lich and looked onward with mild interest. Catch on quickly to what, exactly? The fact that the lich was on its last legs or the fact that it was now clawing at the Dark Judge's bony ankles? Not even the least bit concerned, Judge Fear brought his gaze down and hardly felt a damn thing. "Look at this poor, miserable sinner..." he hissed, shaking his leg free. It was laughably easy, given that the lich was hardly the proud and noble champion of undeath it had claimed to be. "The fool thinks its goddess will protect it from defeat." Both the ghoul and automobile knew far better, of course.

Never let it be said that Judge Fear was not a sadistic creature. He momentarily left K.A.R.R. with the lich and soon came back holding the bottle of kerosene and matches from earlier. A cap was popped off and the lich was next drenched in a torrential flood of combustible liquids, the smell of burning not far off. Very soon, in fact... The ghoul struck a match and purposely withheld from tossing it, no doubt savouring any fear that gripped the lich's still-beating heart before casting the inevitable. "Let us see if that is indeed correct," the Dark Judge spoke up gleefully. One flick was all it took and soon they will have their screams so duly owed.

    FWOOSH!

Perfect. In one fluid motion the AI had slammed their quarry to the ground, a nice bout of repayment for those stones tossed. Oh, but it appeared to get better, for not long after the ex-priest had been tossed face-first into the snow, his driver decided to dispose of his failed method of dealing with the stubborn creature.

"You may have still been able to use that." KARR commented idly, watching as the pieces were cast to the wind. Perhaps to keep this creature pinned to the ground while they finished it off. However, it appeared the ghoul had another idea in mind that was just as painful. Briefly leaving the decrepit man with the vehicle, Judge Fear left to retrieve the bottle of kerosene from earlier. Already figuring what the ghoul had in store for the priest, KARR slowly reversed away, making some distance between himself and the body.

"The mixture he ingested has addled his brain into further delusion than it has already." KARR noted, scanning over the creature's beaten and battered form. "However, it is not enough that this human would die of its consumption. In a manner of thinking, I suppose he should be thanking us for our selflessness." A thought coldly stated as he watched the ghoul pour the kerosene over the body before setting it alight. After all, they had been so generous as to devote time to take this priest out of his misery and in the process spare others from his arrogance. Although he would have preferred if the man had simply drank the wrong vial and killed himself instead of putting the two of them through all this trouble.

"We should find something to keep him here until he burns out completely, heavy stones or something sharp to secure him to the ground." KARR advised evenly as he observed the burning body. "I do not wish for a repeat of his actions in the barn. My energy supplies are dwindling and your form is extensively damaged as well." Perhaps some old fence posts or large spikes would do quite nicely.

What? Where was the coward going, did he think to simply abandon the field of battle because his abilities were so obviously inadequate? The Lich gave a growling hiss as his eyes followed the false blessed, only to gurgle into a  whine as they returned with a bottle. Under the pale light of the moon he could make out the bold lettering that read Kerosene along its side, the tiny burning points that remained of his eyes seeming to dilate upon realization. The Lich's limbs scrambling in the snow as the fluid was dumped upon him generously, but could not find the strength or coordination to stand and escape.

The mixture, it had to be the cause! First it softened his mind, and now it was eating away at his processes and muscle. Damn that pestilence ridden idiot, damn him to the void!

When his gaze shifted upwards, he saw the tiny point of flame that was held within the ghoul's hand. A match, small and simple, yet so deadly should he let go... And let go he did. With a rush of air and crackling skin, the Lich was set aflame once more, rolling around in the snow desperately as he tried to pat down the rising flames. "HAAAAAAUUUUUAAAAAARGH!" He shrieked, cloth and flesh alike burning a brillant blaze of yellow and white. Amid his cries of pain and horror, the Lich's gaze fixed once more on the ghoul.

Him! He was the cause of all this! If he had not arrived at this farm, if he had not interrupted the sermon, none of this would have happened. None of this humiliation and destruction would have occurred. Rousing his strength, the Lich pushed himself up off the ground and lunged at the ghoul.

Portal Breach was not a perfect world and the Dark Judge was not a perfect man; much was left to be desired. He supposed putting their enemy out from its misery could have been swifter (and easier), but where would the satisfaction be in that? Judge Fear watched their howling, shrieking, otherwise despicable mockery of an excuse writhe around in the snow like some lowly snake. It was all very gratifying to behold but, alas, there was work to be done and the Dark Judge was not a fan of shoddy craftsmanship. "If it is a sharp instrument you require, then it is a sharp instrument you shall have," the ghoul hissed to his ally. Once more Judge Fear picked up the pitchfork, its business end this time, and he brandished it not a moment too soon.

A lunge from the lich but one that carried with it no weight, thereby leaving the foolish creature susceptible to a - SCHLICK! - easy counterattack. Oh how Judge Fear absolutely cherished the sensation as his weapon's tines sunk their way into the lich's burnt flesh, the sight of running blood and ichor exhilarating. Did it feel any pain, he wondered? He withdrew the pitchfork, and roughly so, before yet again plunging it deeply into his enemy's burning chest.

"Down upon your knees," the Dark Judge demanded.

With a cruel shove the ghoul toppled his opponent over, the lich back upon the snow where it rightfully belonged. Disgusting creature, Judge Fear thought. No gods or goddesses will be sparing its inevitable fate on this silent night. Now looming over the lich and hovering the pitchfork's tines inches above its throat, the Dark Judge could feel nothing but unbridled jubilation. "I will thoroughly enjoy sending you back to whatever contemptible void you've crawled from," he hissed. But first... The pitchfork's tines were then slowly dragged across the lich's face, tenderly and without breaking skin, before they settled directly over a pair of eyes. "But first," Judge Fear continued, "I want to savour your delightful screams."

Despite the AI's warning, it appeared their adversary was far more stubborn than they thought. Along with having a rage fueled by fire, apparently. The moment Judge Fear retrieved the more useful remains of his burning pitchfork, it had lunged at him, although weakly. And despite the Dark Judge's efforts, the ex-priest refused to back down or even admit impaling.

"Judge Fear, I believe it would be best if you found a different weapon." KARR advised as he observed the struggle. It was apparent that the farm tool was not meant to be used against this creature, which was even more stubborn about evading it's sharpened points. There had to be something around here that could be used to knock this creature down a few pegs, aside from himself of course. His energy packs were still too low to be of use for the moment.

A quick scan of the surrounding area denoted a roll of barbed wire propped against the barn, but there was no clear way for him to retrieve it given his physical state. His systems charge was still too weak to be of use to take advantage of any rusting farm equipment, which left for one other option. "The chemicals, you said they could be unstable from being tipped over, correct?" He rhetorically questioned over the chaos. "If we were to dump its contents into his body, the fire engulfing him would do the rest for us." Not all of the chemicals of course, just some key choices to splash on their adamant opposition. Regardless, at this point anything aside from the pitchfork the AI's driver insisted to wield would do better in helping them attain victory.
