Much to the AI's chagrin, the seventy percent probability to fail was more persistent than the thirty percent of possible success. Tires spinning frantically and engine roaring, all was for naught as the vehicle was tipped upon his roof with a loud thump and a groan from his frame. His world flipped upside down and wheels spinning futilely in the air, KARR could only watch and listen as the Lich decided to use his underbelly as a perch to lord over his driver.

    Wonderful.

What was even better, the undead leaped down and started to maul and maim the Dark Judge, leather strips flying and putrid fluids spraying before a rather shiny token was retrieved. A badge engraved with the word FEAR. With that final assault, the Dark Judge had grown to his wits end with the Lich, knocking him away andshouting in outrage before retrieving a shrunken head from his belt. Wasn't that the Ashleen boy? It looked and sounded quite familiar... Regardless, the head was lobbed and detonated upon their decrepit adversary, a fitting purpose given the country boy's abrasive and lazy nature prior. "Spectacular aim, Judge Fear!" He exclaimed, watching as the ghoul ran about, his plans apparently unfinished.

A long shred of the Lich's robes in hand, it was quickly broght over and secured to one of the AI's wheels. Already he figured just what the Dark Judge had in mind for their decaying assailant, his engines already running at full and his tires spinning vigorously. Already the Dark Judge had went on to find more ammunition to use against the undead priest, shifting through bottles and tossing whatever volatile vials he could find. All the while, fabric stretched and strained against the pull of their flailing owner, each rotation quickly dragging the Lich closer to KARR's merciless tires and in turn towards a gruesome, mangled fate.

    What was this?!

With an overwhelming force unlike any it had encountered before had tossed the Lich back and away from the other undead.  Legs and arms spread for stability, he landed solidly upon his feet and slid back across the barn floor with a snarling hiss. Judge Fear's badge was still clutched tightly in his talons, a glimmer of malice present in its burning gaze. So, the ghoul had it's pride ripped to shreds along with its ridiculous uniform, hm? Very well, but if he wished for his badge back, he would have to come and claim it himself.

"Deaath?! Haaahh! I am alreeaady deeeaad!" The Lich rasped, black mist rolling from its eroded mouth with every drawn out word. "SSSSsss! You caaaanoot kiilll whaaat issss not alliiive!" He hissed, crouching down for another leap. His claws still hungered for the Dark Judge's flesh. However, it appeared that would not be the case, as soon after the ghoul had given his outrage cry, a shrunken head was thrown his way.

    BOOOM!

"HHHAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGHHH!" The flames, they burned him so! The badge was dropped unceremoniously to the ground in favor of frantically trying to remove the ravenous fire. So much so that he hardly noticed his adversary grab up a swath of cloth from him and wind it upon the vehicle's wheel. The engine revved and roared, but too quickly had it been pulled taught and the Lich's stance was too firm upon the ground. A crisp ripping sound could be heard in the barn as the black cloth had torn instead of catching. The only thing that the bloodthirsty vehicle had attained was a mere wrap of black robing around its axle instead of a mass of mangled bone and flesh.

With a final cry the Lich had fallen to the ground, rolling in the dirt to try and rid himself of the flames. Alas, his boy had been ripened too well by the fluids he had consumed, the chemicals making for perfect kindling. Blinded by smoke and panic, the Lich did not even notice as the other undead rifled through the body of the deceased priest and brought forth a few vials of chemicals before lobbing them his way.

    Crrsh! Crash! Crrssh!

Now why does that sound painfully familiar?

Judge Fear knew better than anyone that shoddy imitations of undeath were far from being foolproof; just ask Dr. Icarus. There was always a weakness to exploit and, if in the unfortunate event the lich had an indestructible spirit such as the ghoul? There were plenty of persuasive methods to coerce that arrogant creature from its rotting corpse, like a snake from its den. It may even be possible to contain it...

The Dark Judge had no intentions of sparing this miserable wraith's existence, however. Oh no, far from it. He wasted no time in taking advantage of the entire situation, Judge Fear once more at K.A.R.R.'s fallen side as he shoved a bony shoulder into the vehicle's paneling. "You are no good to me like this!" the ghoul angrily hissed. With a hearty push the Dark Judge pivoted K.A.R.R.'s overturned mass and gave his ally a clear line of sight with their flailing enemy. Your laser, charge it! Knowing that nothing needed to be said and that K.A.R.R.'s expensive paperweight for a processor could be two-and-two together, Judge Fear quickly left the automobile and was already whipping back one of his mantrap's chains. He snaked its clattering links tightly against the lich's throat and growled, "Writhe like a fish on a hook." Because you will soon be gutted.

    But first...

    Whish!

But first allow the Dark Judge to send you off into the void properly, your body hoisted up into the air like some child's pinata. Judge Fear threw his chain over an above wooden beam and he harshly tugged downward. Inch by agonizing inch their foe was lifted and now everything had come together for this very moment. "Now, K.A.R.R.!" the ghoul cried, weakened limbs trembling. He couldn't keep like this forever, even with all of his supernatural strength! "Fire your laser and shoot it now!"

Useless indeed, the fabric had ripped before he could even bring the Lich close enough to leave a scuff mark on him!

"Damn." KARR hissed, observing the fight as well as he could from his upside down position. Thankfully the microscanners along his body were still intact despite the roll, allowing for a good view of the battle as their adversary took a moment to brag his invulnerability. Although, it appeared that the substance he had consumed was not as thorough as he thought. With the explosion of unnatural liquids and further ignition of the flames on the undead's body, there also came a spike of adrenaline. But how? this creature looked quite convincing already, could it be that there was still some remnant of the priest's body underneath his rotted visage? With but a quick scan over the being, the AI came to a striking conclusion, one that he dared not keep secret from the Dark Judge. "He is bluffing! I can still detect organ function on his person, his words are that of delusion, Judge Fear." KARR announced quickly. For all of his guff and thrashing, this undead was only skin deep.

He could still detect a pulse.

However, it appeared the ghoul still had a few tricks up his sleeve, for while the so-called Lich thrashed and burned, his driver took the opportunity to turn him about like an over sized turret. "I am well aware of my usefulness and lack thereof, Judge Fear. If I had the ability to, I would have flipped myself back onto my wheels within a millisecond and ran him into the ground." He retorted coldly. Alas, the Foundation did not have the foresight to install an anti-car-tipping-lich device upon his body. His frontal scanner now aligned with the thrashing and burning monstrosity, KARR did not need to be commanded in order to charge his laser to firing capability.

But first, it appeared the ghoul wished to make his efforts even easier. Chains were tightly wrapped around the priest's rotten neck before they were swiftly strung high like a pinata, a circumstance that the AI may have found amusing should it have not already flipped him upside down. Regardless, it was quite satisfying to see the ex-human thrashing around with nowhere to run. His systems quickly set targets on the false-Lich's heart, a tone sounding within his cabin as the laser reached maximum charge. "I suggest you tether him to something and try to find a device to get me right side up again." KARR advised as the ghoul gave his cry.

Three beams of green light shot forth from the Trans-Am's nose with a shrill sound, each aimed to pierce and fry the priest's decrepit heart without fail.

"It burrrnnsss usss!" The Lich hissed, clawing at his body and tearing away his burning clothing. Above the blinding pain of his burning flesh, a nay-saying vehicle's comment reached his ears. False?! He dared to call him a false blessed! Foolish machine, he was fully undead, immortal beyond compare and fathom. And he would make this machine learn of its ignorance in trying to say otherwise. Focusing its willpower, the Lich shakily got to his feet, ashen flakes of its decrepit body fluttering to the ground. Already the pale copy of a true blessed had run back to the vehicle's side, pushing it about and rotating its front towards him.

Pathetic! Of what advantage would that gain the ghoul? It still was on its roof, immobile and stranded in one place.

Even if it would burn to a pile ash before it reached the vehicle, the Lich would make this thing know fear of the undead-! "Hhghk!" The lich's burning eyes glanced downwards at the chains that had been quickly slipped around his neck before its gaze traveled behind to the Dark Judge. Clever thing, he must have ran back there while he was focusing on getting to the overturned car. Regardless, he had only been caught off guard for a moment, the Lich still had the upper hand, burning to death or not!

With a hiss, the undead priest turned about its metallic binds, claws curled and ready to swipe at the Dark Judge. Twice he lashed out at the ghoul's already rent body, aiming to disembowel and maim. So this so-called Judge lashed the chain over the beams, had they not learned the last time that he could nit be chained down like some beast? However, it appeared that there were other plans in store, as the Lich was hoisted off the ground, chains tightening about his throat painfully. Air suffocated from his lungs and neck straining to hold his weight, the Lich snapped a claw up to grab at the chain, fitfully trying to pull himself up.

However, as he tried to escape his fate, another pain ripped through his chest. Not fire, but something more precise and concentrated. Looking down the priest beheld a ghastly sight; two large holes penetrated his body, blood dripping from where the wound did not cauterize from the heat of laser's blast. Immediately its gaze went back to the vehicle, rage filling its burning eye sockets as it began to furiously thrash and claw at the chains that held it.

He would be free! And when he was, both vehicle and ghoul would pay dearly for this insult!

A good shot! Judge Fear took delight in hearing their enemy gurgle and howl, the lich's rage absolutely soothing. Never mind that the ghoul's body was now officially on its last leg and would not survive for much longer. In ragged pieces and effectively disemboweled, the Dark Judge hardly cared that this body's flesh and entrails lay strewn about for all to admire. He stepped over whatever knotted intestines and weeping organs laid bare and instead focused on ridding the world of this hissing menace. But what was this about being a sham?

K.A.R.R.'s advanced systems had detected that the lich was, in fact, the real liar in all of this unnecessary nonsense. Judge Fear openly scoffed in light of this dubiously-named information. "Inform me of something I do not know," he answered irritably. This so-called priest was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Wasn't that obvious enough? The Dark Judge kept a firm grip on his flailing prey and managed to scrounge up just enough energy to retort back, "Perhaps we shall ask your beloved technician to install a self-service readjustment feature so that you may avoid being so easily disabled?" If it all it took was but a simple flip to render K.A.R.R.'s mobility useless, then it was severely vulnerable to the point of humiliation. Don't take the ghoul's word for it, of course. Seeing K.A.R.R. so effortlessly immobilized was evidence enough and the Dark Judge would have nearly given anything to taste the automobile's digital fears.

    But not now.

Now they had to avoid defeat at this hands of this imposter and emerge the victors. Righting K.A.R.R. would prove to be... difficult, however. With what device? With what instrument? Judge Fear was alert enough to note that they were currently in a barn; would K.A.R.R. like to be tipped over by a herd of cows? Or perhaps the vehicle would enjoy being dragged along by several horses, instead?

Blatant unspoken sarcasm aside, there was work to be done and the ghoul promptly fastened his chain around a nearby wooden pillar. That ought to keep the lich in place while the Dark Judge could attend to more satisfying venues. Like crouching beside K.A.R.R., for example. How wonderful. Judge Fear hobbled over, entrails dangling, and he had a much better idea. "How about you keep firing that laser of yours and worry about being balanced after we have dealt with the sinner?" Let the ghoul concern himself with rolling you over like the testy machine that you are. Once more and this time focusing all of his energies at the task at hand, the Dark Judge grasped at K.A.R.R.'s framework and heaved. To say that K.A.R.R. owed the undead lawman was an insulting understatement. Don't take undeath for granted, you cheeky algorithm!

Oh dear, those entrails... And to think once this battle is over Judge Fear still would have more to trail into his cabin! Ah, but no matter, once they were done dealing with this fool, with all the chemicals they collected they should have no trouble creating a home made stain removing solution.

But what was this? Scoffing at the AI's report when he had given their attacker a very viable distraction through insulting its pride. Along with stating what was apparently the obvious of course. Soon after, he heard the ghoul give yet another smart-mouthed retort. Beloved technician? Judge Fear, please. "I simply appreciate competence is all." He grumbled, "Maybe you should ask your beloved cultists to make you a less easily destroyed wardrobe while you wait for my systems to be repaired instead of drinking the local bar dry." Honestly, leathers were only useful for protection when their wearer of a motorcyclist. His shoulder pauldrons and helmet were the only things that the AI would really discern as armor from the rest of his clothing. All criticisms and sharp words aside, looking at the world upside down and being unable to do anything about it was quickly becoming less of an irritation and more frustrating than it was due. For now, the best way to deal with said irritation was to take it out on the creature that started it all in the first place.

    Pshew! Pshew! Pshew!

Three more shots were delivered to the so-called undead priest. One of them aimed directly for that incessantly grinning mouth of his.

Although he could have sworn there was a device connected to his systems that could aid him against this sort of circumstance already... A hook or winch of some sort. However, try as he might to access it, the command remained inoperable.

As for the methods of tipping KARR back onto his wheels again, the ghoul may as well prove himself lucky that they were not voiced. The AI's optics observed eagerly as his driver tied off the chain before coming to his side, a final grumble given before he went to work on tipping the vehicle back onto its wheels. Slowly but surely the Trans-Am's frame groaned and creaked, his world rotating to a diagonal and finally on its side before it lurched back to normal with a hearty and heavy Thump! With the change in weight distribution, the AI's fluid systems leveled out and he gave a few testing revs.

"Thank you, Judge Fear." He stated appreciatively. "Now then, I believe it would do our champion some good if we took him out back for a drag." All the lawman would have to do is hitch his mantrap chain to KARR's rear end, as the vehicle more than gladly drove over to the securing barn beam. The rest of course, would be his pleasure.

Bantering and bickering! These two were worse than an old couple. And between one of them being a talking car and the other an undead, to call them odd would be an understatement.

Perhaps at this rate they would turn on each other and take some of the work off the Lich's shoulders. Otherwise, it proved to be an ample distraction while it worked on getting itself freed. Already the lesser undead of the two was hobbling off, intestines coiling out from his belly while trying to flip the vehicle over. A glance over towards the barn supports shown that the chain had been fastened to one of the support struts. "SSssss..." Damn this chain, it hurt his neck so! Although luckily  the amount of frustrated thrashing was enough to avoid almost all of the vehicle's laser fire, save for one.

    Thwuckt!

"HhaaaAAAAAUUUUuugh!" His jaw! it shot off his jaw! Sputtering putrid blood and giving guttural curses, the Lich glared down at the overturned automobile only to see that ti was being propped right back up onto its wheels. So be it, overturned or not, that possessed pile of scrap was still no match for the might of the undead! Hissing and snarling, the undead priest grabbed at the chain link and hoisted himself up, limbs shaking under the weight of his rotting form.

From there it sunk its talons into the wood of the overhead beam that supported the dangling chain, pulling itself up and out of its humiliating position. They thought themselves so clever, so brilliant as to think that he could be restrained and hung up like a child's pinata! Fools they would soon find themselves to be, as it leaped down and charged at the vehicle. Shoulders lowered, the Lich slammed into the car's paneling at full force.

    HP: 177/350

    Alchemical Folly:
Judge Fear found a few vials of highly combustible poisons! Lich sustains an extra three coins of unmissable damage for as long as his burn duration lasts equal to its level.

    Charge!: 3c/3d
    Target: KARR
