Livewire watched the woman shove through the way that Nessa had made, just in time apparently. The femme doubted that the stranger would have any reservations about pushing either of them out of the way. the floating suitcase whined mechanically under the strain of its load, for the hoverboard supporting it was reaching the edges of its capacity. The leaving occupant scoffed and, after muttering a few choice phrases, grabbed the handle of the hovering container and pulled it behind her with a surely expresion.  The still-confused femme had to dodge away as the overfilled crate crashed against the wall right where she had just been standing. Either from not noticing or not caring, the crone continued unbothered down the creaky staircase that complained sharply.  Livewire leaned over to watch her desend with a small, relieved smile to Nessa.

The femme liked to think her powers of perception greater than they actually were.  Even though she was well aware that Nessa hid from her nature from the child, Livewire did not think in this moment to analyze beyond the surface.  If it was due to her failure to respond to the previous situation or some deeper satisfaction from the knowledge that someone cared enough about what she thought that they would lie to her, Livewire would never say.  Especially if it was the first one, as the femme would look back upon her frozen state with embarrassment. The previous tenant, after begrudging the "Aeful Smeel", took her leave out of the front door.

A similar smile lit Livewire's features as Nessa let her excitement show.  Her sharp shoulders were padded by the thick sweather she wore, so the femme didn't offer word of warning when Nessa initiated the partial embrace.  "Yes, let's."  Wait...party?  Were they going to go out?  Leaving a new home only moments after acquiring it seemed foolish to the femme, even if the absence would only be temporary.  Oh, oh.  Magic Party, that made more sense.  Livewire's optics lit slightly in an initial response to the dimming lights before returning to their previous levels.  It was exciting when there was a magic user, especially when that user happened to be Nessa.   Livewire's identity made her less magical than a rock, so any display was a peek into a world she could never participate in.  For this string of logic, Livewire convienently forgot about how susceptable she had been to the Hidden Arts during the time of the Circus.  This didn't bother her however, as she would take any excuse to forget that time.  Nessa left the femme to explore another room but Livewire was quick on her heels.  Or she was, until her treck was interrupted by the sounds of many, many tiny feet before she found herself acting as a rat roost.  Unlike some of her friends, Livewire held no ill will towards Nessa's children.  To the contrary, she was extremely fond of all of them and enjoyed their presence immensely.  A giggle bubbled up as little feet found purchase on her and she tilted her head to each side in order to gently bump those taking residence on her shoulders.  "Hello again~"  Her voice was colored by her risen mood, which was a great improvement from the empty tone she had hidden herself with these past few months.  Her arms raised to her chest to provide a make-do shelf in order to accomodate more of her friends.

Oh, oh there was a mirror now.  Was the mirror important?  Probably, but it was not as interesting as the ball in Nessa's possession.  It seeded just as much curiousity as amazement in the femme, for along with the proper body she also lacked the proper mind for magic.  She had poured over tome after tome on the subject, but still she held almost no practical knowledge on anything mystic.  Instead of dwelling on that at the moment, Livewire was instead distracted by the, to her, completely amazing display that Nessa created.  Fully-open optics captured each detail as the mirror was taken up by the floor in what was just a taste of what was to come, yet it still brought a "that's incredible" from the femme.  Livewire openly displayed her fascination as she readily took up the role as Nessa's audience.   Teal optics followed Carnwennan as it was drawn while the rest of her body remained still for is furry occupants.  If she didn't make a point to control her reactions she might have flinched when the mirror was pierced.

Immediately thoughts began to race through her mind as she desperately tried to understand what just happened, running back and forth in circles over and over until just a second later Nessa's apparent exertion brought her racing mind to a conclusion:

    It's magic

Not the most profound, but it would do.   The mirror shifted, waved, and changed in ways Livewire didn't comprehend.  If she had lungs, she might have stopped breathing in anticipation and awe at the display.  Only once Nessa broke the silence did Livewire come back to her voice.  "I'm so glad I came here today."  It would be hard for Nessa to find a more engrossed audience.  If not for her current occupants, Livewire would have given applause.  As it was that barrier did not last long, for soon a parade of small furry bodies abandoned their roost and rushed through the mirror, disappearing right through it and leaving Livewire in shock.    "How...where did-?"  She was broken from her line of questioning by a small tug at a pressure sensor within her helm, and the familiar weight on her shoulder told her that it was none other than Suzzane pulling the sensor towards the mirror.  Did she want to follow the rats?  Was Livewire to come with her?

The femme took the few steps towards Nessa and the mirror.  A glance towards Nessa helped to ease the worry that had barely begun to bud.  She trusted the woman, even more so because she knew that Nessa had her own secrets to hide.  Livewire had the same, and to the femme that strengthened her bond with the woman.  Standing beside the mirror and her friends, Livewire felt all at once nervous, excited, and happy.  She had picked a good day to come.  "Do...do I follow?"  She didn't know what else Suzzane might have meant, but she wanted to make sure.   She couldn't deny the buzzing anticipation within her that had yet to break, and this was only growing more exciting with each passing moment.

Livewire's reaction do nothing but feed the little excitement an immortal humani can muster. It's not every day she gets to introduce another person to her world, in any case the femme is even more new do to not even being on the same plane as her powers! The Piper absolutely loves that moment, like a child finding out they have a whole world that's not explored. Similar to how she felt when she was Awakened. It's not much of a story she'd tell the girl but she might infer it at some point. Nessa bites her lip in a bit of ecstatic joy. Finally a good hiding spot, she's so very glad the former tenant was just as easily removed as killing it. She shakes her head and focuses on the now. The Piper has done well so far.

"Well I'm glad you are enjoying yourself..." Nessa stands closer to Livewire and drapes her arm over her shoulder again. The femme is short in this form even to the small woman. Just a child indeed. However she can tell, there have been horrors that this soul has seen that she ought not have. Things that Nessa herself has probably witnessed in akin nature. Their secrets, both the Piper's and the Femme's, are their own. She knows the wisdom in one's eyes, one doesn't live 7 centuries and not pick up on that sort of thing. Livewire has a bit of it. As long as she doesn't ask, she will not tell. Probably in both terms.

Nessa smiles down to Livewire and draws Carnwennan out, still in it's small scabbard. She holds the Femmes forarm up quickly and places the dagger in her hand, Nessa still holding the top of the hilt. Nessa's voice becomes chilled, and whispering words cloud into Livewire's thoughts as she speaks.

"No need to follow, Child. The Mist will come to us. Just have faith in me for a moment."

The room shifts and the mirror rushes at them swallowing them up and blinking out the darkness.

And thus the Piper's nest visits the city. While the Breach Sleeps.

Horrors indeed.  Just in her short time in existence, Livewire had seen so many things that all molded her, everything left a mark on the child.  Every pleasure, every pain.  But even while those things left grooves in the femme, the wonder and excitement pushed them just far enough out of her thoughts that she could enjoy herself.

The child was no stranger to magic.  There had been a few occasions where she saw it demonstrated as well as occasions where she  had been a participant, no matter how unwilling.  She had seen diagrams on paper rise up to become beautiful, shimmering rainbows that swirled lazily in the air in ways she still didn't understand.  She had been subjected to another kind of magic, one that ripped her and tore out her mind as it changed her into a puppet of flesh, leaving her scarred far deeper than she would ever reveal.  And then there was the god that decided to whisper into her  mind, but that might not have been magic at all.  Even with all of this exposure, all of the reasons why she should fear it, what Nessa showed the femme only encited amazement and the kind of joy one feels when they find something new and beautiful.

The draping arm around her shoulder widened the femme's entranced smile as she looked back up to the woman.  Her arm goes willingly with the Piper's guidance.  Her hand gently cradled Carnwennan as Nessa placed it in her hold.  She kept calm in her trust, allowing the voice to slip past her barriers without rejecting it.  She looked once more to Nessa before the room shifted and was engulfed by the mirror, carrying her as a willing passenger.

Oh.  Two blue optics looked up, then around as the darkness faded from her vision.  Was the shade in her perception, or outside?  She honestly couldn't tell.  They were somewhere...different.  In the City?  Her gaze looked around as the smile faded from eager anticipation to excited curiousity.  No, it was a different room, a different area.  She could no longer hear the faint vibrations of cars and people through the windowpanes.  The smile crept back again as the child held her arm still, waiting for Nessa's permission to move.  She had no idea what was going on, so the femme was just going to stay right where she was.  When she spoke, it was quiet as awe tempered her voice.  To her, this was magnificent on its own.  With Nessa being the one orchestrating it, the experience was even more amazing.

Nessa's arm falls from Livewire as soon as they enter the room. They are in the small foyer's entrance to the house hidden in plain sight. An unnatural light filters in from the dark scarlet curtains, giving the room a comforting red glow. And familiar to Nessa. She smiles to herself, feeling at peace for the most part. Her hand brushes the ornate carving of Cernunnos on the wall. Thousands upon thousands of years old. She missed this piece. The Piper had almost forgotten what it felt like to be home. It's reconciling. It's relaxing. It's... Motivating. Her hiding place of choice is now amongst the Breach. She smiles to herself again, her eyes glowing red with excitement. Nessa turns to Livewire with a look of pure elation.

"Ah! Just look at the place! It's just as I left it if not even more beautiful!" She walks into the living space, a multi-sectional couch, in a U shape, spreads out across the largest room of the house. Rats skitter amongst the plush carpet and play on the ground, Suzanne jumps down from her spot, landing lightly, and runs to the corner of the room, near the archway to the kitchen. A small coat wrack with a birdhouse atop it is her target. The smallest rat climbs up it with ease and places herself upon the ledge and hugs it. Ah! Home sweet home!

Nessa giggles to herself, almost a small girls noise, and she turns to Livewire as she jumps on her large even more plush than the carpet couch.

"Oh what a great day it's been." She leans upwards and places her hand on her chin. The motion making her a bit dizzy. That whole ordeal took far too much energy. She should eat soon, if not now...

    However...

"Oh dear child thank you for this little outing turned wonderful! Would you like a tour of my Nest?" She smiles, doing just fine at faking her almost complete exhaustion and near gutwrenching nausea.

Livewire’s optics widened in amazement as she took in the views around her.  A smile, small and bright as a flame took her expression as her hands came up to touch either side of it and framing the happy metal of her face.  Each detail was quickly etched into the femme’s mind, every thread and filter from the curtain as it bathed the room in a comforting red glow.  The sounds of tiny feet skittering across the carpet only gave Livewire greater joy, for she did love Nessa’s children as much as she loved the woman herself.    Oh, this was just so exciting for the child.  With each moment of comfort and trust that passed, that joy showed more and more in her figure and mind.   It was so wonderful.

Her optics scanned over the wall carving with wonder plainly showing.   Nessa’s own smile lit Livewire up from the inside, keeping her happy but not penetrating the tight, dark shell she had so carefully maintained.  She never intended for that to be penetrated, though.  This was enough, plenty enough.   “It is!  It’s so pretty, Nessa.”  Her elation was tampered when she took a closer look at her friend, yes.  Nessa was her friend.   Even after all of her talk, all of her intent to seal herself off completely from the world that she hated so, she still managed to make another friend.  Oh, well.  That was something to consider at a time that wasn’t right now. A small frown of concern dampened her expression as she considered the woman, who looked so tired.   “Are you sure you don’t need some time to rest?”  Oh she very much wanted to see it, this amazing thing, but Nessa’s well-being was more important than curiosity to the child.

Nessa smiles at Livewire's approval of the residence. Some sort of pride splays across her face as she stands up, her right leg shaking just slightly as she does so. Suzanne, on her perch in the corner, makes a motion to run for Mother, but Nessa eyes her reassuringly and the small albino rat blinks and goes about her own little business tidying up her little birdhouse on a stick. The Piper stands in full, though still short by all means, and walks into the kitchen. She only recognizes Livewire's concern, not speaking of it. She's not one to talk about her slights and injuries. The kitchen is simply behind the living room, only the archway of about five feet wide separating the two rooms. Inside, a table for two with a crystal chandelier over it is off to the side, and an similarly decorated kitchenette dons the other side of the room. She motions for Livewire to follow, with a bit of excitement in her movements.

"Oh I just need a bite to eat. Us organic humani being all... biological and such." her hint of German accent becomes more prominent, being home and all does that to the Piper.

Her walls come down as well at times. A friend? Livewire is sweet, and like a child to her. Nessa probably has had the worst of times making friends, but all of which normally gave her something beneficial in return...

That's all the Dread Piper knows. And probably will ever know.

She walks into the kitchenette and opens a pantry, pulling out a perfectly ripe pear and nibbling at it. Rats scurry along the ground, sniffing for things and overall just ratting.

Nessa leans against the counter and lays her hand on the sink as she consumes the fruit in moments, the only sign that she is low on energy.

"This is my cooking and dining area, all the paintings on the walls are originals that I... requisitioned. The star of this room is the chandelier, it was made out of the remnants of Karzelek... He was an immortal composed completely out of crystal, not sure how he got that way. He was quite short though. Some called him a dwarf." Normal beings would be abhorred by the fact that she's hanging bodyparts from another being on her ceiling as a light fixture... but Nessa believes she's not in normal company...

The child followed close behind Nessa, still concerned for her but not questioning again.  It might have been pride or just a lack of concern, but for whatever reason Nessa didn’t want to admit to the trembling in her muscles that Livewire’s eyes so easily picked up on.

Instead of focusing on it more, two blue sensors took in the details of the architecture around them.  It was lovely, and she certainly enjoyed the works of art that hung around them.  A moment was taken for Livewire to spin in place and absorb each detail of the space around them.  It was fascinating!  She still didn’t know where she was and that was a bit scary, but at the same time it was exciting.  An excited smile was what met Nessa when Livewire spun back around, ready to hear what she had to say.  Her attention was directed to the chandelier and Livewire’s fascination with it only grew as Nessa revealed its origins.  This was a body before?  There was someone made of crystal, and they were alive to the point that they had an identity and could be destroyed?   “That is amazing!”  No, Nessa, you were not at all in normal company.

This was a rare moment for the child.  For the past few months Livewire had removed herself, done her best to keep from forming connections to anyone new.   Her grief had caused her to build up a towering wall, but this time of wonder let just a little of the child inside shine through.   “This is such a beautiful place!”

Nessa's eyes check over the place, in fact, she has been doing this since the beginning. Her awakened senses making sure nothing was out of place... Everything that was once hers is now back in her possession. If Carnwennan could understand her, than she would thank it. The Piper smiles brightly at Livewire as the child looks on in wide-optic wonder at her little parlor of a home.

"It's small, but I love it that way." more and more of her German accent starts to leak through. Feeling at home plays at the heartstrings and lowers one's walls, does it not?

Turning away from the counter and setting down the half eaten pear on the marble counter, she walks out of the kitchen towards a hallway across the living area.

"I'm glad you like it! You'll have to come over more often. I'm not good at receiving visitors, but I'm sure we all can entertain you~"

Walking with more grace than a human should, the Piper strides down the short hallway into a room. Opening a closet, she sighs happily, then begins to remove her clothing.

Rats gather around the couches, not as many as normal here, but still quite an infestation.

"Ah... fresh clothes. I've been waiting on this."

Removing the bandages from her chest, she sighs deeply. Ah... the pains of having to hide yourself. Well those days are gone. For now.

Nessa opens a drawer and slides on some green flannel pajama pants, then quickly obtains a dark purple camisole from her open closet. She lets down her hair and walks back into the living area, placing her red scarf on the nearby coat stand.

Skipping once, quite like a small child would, she bounces off her heel and lands back onto the couch with a loud and happy sigh. She grabs at the air, and from it she pulls the half eaten pear. She takes a larger bite and lounges. So very happy to be home and to have a mouth full of fruit.

"It's beautiful!  I, I love it!  It's small an' cute, an' so pretty! I...I'd really like to keep comin' here, if don't mind.  I'd really like that."  Livewire turned and smiled brightly to Nessa, following after her happily.  Oh, oh this was. This was amazing. The child's mood had been...well.  It hadn't been good.

She followed after the woman like a kitten on her heels.  Livewire averted her eyes politely when she began to change.  But she didn't really care, not at all. Livewire had just learned the hard way that most people didn't like the child staring at them as they changed.  Such angry changing rooms.
Livewire kept tagging after her, now looking more like her old self as Nessa's own enthusiasm was mirrored in the femme.  She was bright, happy, and open.  It was...good.

The femme plopped down beside Nessa on the couch, immediately scooting up beside her.
"Thanks so much, for letting me come here Nessa.  I...really." She smiled more, then leaned over to try and gently bump Nessa with her shoulder.  She was thankful.  Livewire hadn't felt secure like this in months, and the relief showed.

The Piper smiles softly down to the child, her eyes squinting ever so slightly as she grins, as the small Cybertronian follows her about. She has nothing BUT followers, but to have one follow on their own volition was nothing short of cute. After she had sat on the couch and started eating she looked over to Livewire once more as the small femme nuzzles up beside her and touches her with her shoulder. Nessa makes a noise akin to the cooing of a dove before she reaches over to one of the lampstands and opens a drawer, taking out a classic polaroid camera. As she loads it, she speaks.

"You're always welcome here, dear." She turns the camera around and points it at both her and Livewire, the Piper wraps her arm around Livewire's shoulderplates and grins. "Smile!" A bright flash goes off and out the front the picture appears.

    "Come!"

She tugs on the femme's arm lightly right as she stands up, leaving her pear on the side table. Nessa almost skips as she waves the photo around in the air, trying to get it to develop faster. She takes a turn away from her own room where her clothes were and into an office like area with a giant bulletin board, and two armoires made of dark wood. A small desk is in the corner with all manner of assorted plants on it.

However, the bulletin board that takes up an entire wall was the centerpiece. Nearly three quarters of the board were covered in polaroid photos. A few of them with a dark haired woman that looked native American, a couple with a young man who rode around in a wheel chair. Another man who looked quite old, but doing things like jumping off cliffs in a flight suit. At or around 30 different people were the stars of these photos, and in each one, Nessa was in them. Holding, hugging, kissing their cheeks. These were definitely people that Nessa held dear.

"There we go." the Piper says as she pins up the photo of Livewire and her on the couch.

A victorious smile splays across Nessa's face, rats crowd the door behind them in the doorway each one climbing over the next to see what's going on. Nessa turns around and smiles after a moment, something like pride and sadness on her face.

Immortality did have.... it's downsides. But who's to say the Piper can't have good memories?

The child smiled brightly when the camera was pointed at her.  She didn't know that Nessa had a camera, but the confusion didn't stop her from sharing in the merriment.  Livewire pressed up close to Nessa for the photo, then hopped up to follow after her when she herself jumped up while holding the photo.  She was like a duckling at its mother's heels, but that changed when the wall came into view.

Livewire slowed to a stop as she saw the board.  Her optics quickly picked out the faces in them, Nessa in each one.  She saw each other, their own eyes and the affection held within them.   It was only when Nessa pinned up the image of Livewire upon the board did Livewire understand. These were the pictures of those who had been in Nessa's life. Photographs of the ones she loved, and in each photo she made sure to include her love for them.  As her eyes roamed the lines that made up each face, Livewire's mind traveled back to the apartment that she and her sister still had trouble feeling at home in.  They traveled to the bed, under it, to a leather-bound photo album that Livewire had kept for the last three years.  It was filled with the pictures of those she lost.  Each time someone disappeared, a memory was taken and printed off to join the child's paper graveyard.  She was never in the pictures.  The only love in the album was that sorrow with which the child would review the images of her lost friends.  But Nessa's...Nessa kept happy memories.  She kept love and joy within the physical memories.

Nessa had taken her picture.  She was...one of Nessa's special people.

The femme moved forward quietly, almost distractedly, before her small arms wound their way around Nessa's waist.  She held her, clinging almost, as her face hid against the woman's shoulder.

She didn't know what to say.

She wished that she could cry.

Nessa hadn't had a moment like this in quite a while. Her ties to people have always been frayed by time and death, but her own nature had her constantly changing location. Now that she's confined to a world of multiple possibilities? Her first picture on the wall... It might as well be with someone she hardly knows. She normally makes it a point not to get too deep into others' lives. But this child, because that's what Livewire definitely still is, has touched her in a way that hasn't surfaced in her life. She could never have children, her immortality has taken away that thought. Livewire cannot hope to fill that void, nor could Nessa ever try to, however the femme is slowly filling a different part of her life.

    And that's okay.

Nessa watches as the femme's mechanical features reflect the emotion tumultuous with the small cybertronian. As Livewire comes up to her, Nessa has to stop herself from flinching immediately. Going tense for a small moment, her eyes widen and her aura reflexively sharpens around her. Nessa quickly calms herself as Livewire wraps around her and her helm touches against her shoulder. The Piper's arms, formerly hovering above the child, falls around her little friend.

A small hum escapes her mouth as she embraces Livewire softly, half so she doesn't cut herself on the spikey child, the other half due to her almost shocked state. Letting people close has almost killed her on so many occasions, she almost forgot she's in a completely different world now.

The family blinks as they stand and embrace. Suzanne poking out the top of the pile of curious rats. Then, when they couldn't stand it anymore, one or two start the flood but all eventually pool into the room, crawling up the two embracers to snuggle into their necks and hug on flannel and basically join the love.

"Ah! Children! What has gotten into you?!" the Piper jests. The children don't stop their squeaky loving.

Nessa smiles and sighs in exasperation, not sure what to do with them or the child she's holding.
