    A new point of view

    Date: November 23

Jak had decided to take a trip out of the Stock point Inn for once to make do with what he still had. He was currently still gritting his teeth over what had happened to his friends over that time but he knew he had to move on. He had nobody to really blame in this situation over what had happened to him. Jak stopped and closed his eyes "Dax... where the hell are you?"

Jak's dark side stirred within his system and a voice went into the back of his head "You're no hero , you let your friends die."

Jak blinked, his dark side had tried to blame him for trying to go on without his friends "I'm fine, dark.. i don't need your help"

Jak was in a slightly peaceful area, taking the time to at least think about things.

It was calm...peaceful.. just like Sandover had once been to him.

However the wind began to pick up, it blew Jak's hair back as he covered himself with his arms. It was colder than he thought.

It had been a long while since he had just sat out in the sun, a realization that had never really hit the AI until recently. Either he was on the run or hiding out from KITT and Michael, never truly staying in one place for too long, or one piece for that matter. Sunlight glinted off the Trans-Am's paneling as he sat outside the barn's entrance, having long since emerged from recharge and took an opportunity to simply be, to exist. Mere existence turned into reflection and thought soon enough, the readings from his surveillance mode noticeable but not enough so to be distracting.

It had been months since he had arrived here, and while things seemed to go well enough, he could not help but notice one thing. The duo that had been chasing him relentlessly on his previous world never made an appearance. Not a blip from a homing device, no electronic presence on his private carrier frequency... It was like the other AI and its driver never existed at all. An observation that certain did not come unwelcome, but simply alien. Perhaps they were not spared at all, destroyed with the universe as Alpha had came and devoured it. Such pleasing thoughts soon ended as his scanners picked up movement out in the more unkempt parts of the farm's acreage. Further analysis quickly showed that it was a man, a rather strange looking one at that.

Perhaps he and the Dark Judge could squeeze in a late morning judgement. Starting his engines, the AI pulled around and retreated into the dark walls of the barn. dry coolness washed over his body as he idled his way to the back, optics resting on a familiar form laying on the ground. Body still and arms crossed over his chest, the judge looked very much like a corpse though it was hard to tell if he was resting or simply waiting.

"There is an intruder on our premises. Do you wish to join me or shall I dispose of him myself?" KARR reported evenly. Resting or not, he doubted the ghoul would wish to stay laying around for long after hearing that.

There was something to be said about lying with the virtuous...

Neither fully asleep nor truly resting, Judge Fear had spent these last few days in silent twilight. At times he would be conscious enough to observe the atmosphere all around the barn, but none of it concerned the lifeless Dark Judge and he instead chose to remain at peace. That all changed upon the 23rd of November however, a day of creeping frost and chill. K.A.R.R. soon came into the ghoul's midst and Judge Fear heeded his ally's words. An intruder wandering within the surrounding vicinity, was it? A white-blue glow blossomed from within the Dark Judge's helm and Judge Fear sat up with a sudden creak. "Another sinner has come seeking judgement?" he asked with a grave hiss.

It would seem so, as K.A.R.R. had no reason to lie or obscure the truth. "Then by all means," the Dark Judge began while rising to his terrifying height. He left the sanctity of this pit and troubled the righteous dead no more, rejoining K.A.R.R.'s side. "Let us find this intruder and bring him closer to justice," he finished. Should the vehicle offer Judge Fear a ride, the Dark Judge would eagerly accept.

If not, however, then the ghoul did not object to traveling the old-fashioned way.

With that statement the Dark Judge noisily sat up, the sound of joints crackling and bones creaking still managing to fascinate the AI for a short moment. It was like the ghoul had no cartilage left in his body despite the fluidity of his motions. "Affirmative, my surveillance functions picked them up in the far north field. The grass there is overgrown, if we stay silent he can be killed quickly with little time to scream." He stated, watching as the Dark Judge soon got to his feet.

KARR popped open the driver's side door with a click and hiss of hydraulics The driver's seat and cockpit lights winking in greeting. "Get in, if he brings any surprises with him we will be ready." The last thing they needed was a complete copy of the incident with the militia man. KARR's databanks still held the surreal transformation sequence of battered man inoto skeletal abomination all too clearly.

Once the Dark Judge was situated inside, the car's door closed securely as it quickly back out of the barn and wheeled about. Activating the vehicle's Silent Mode function, KARR drove out into the fields, staying in the cover of tall grasses. Nary a sound was emitted from the engine or the AI's tires, only the whistle of a passing breeze evident on the air. Did the dry grasses move about just now, or was it only the wind playing with the overgrown plant-life?

Jak slightly stood closely, still covering himself from the cold. However he held his two guns on his back away from sight and would be ready in case of any attack. The wind kept blowing and Jak stared at the tall grass for a second, the wind blowing a bit. He swore he could see a hint of something..no that was nothing...!

Jak discovered he wanted to be on the safe side.

KARR kept his scanners on the strange man as he drew closer, slowing to a stop when he began to look around. The fluttering grass hid his form sufficiently, fertile earth a boon to the plant's tall growth. Upon the man he could detect a few firearms, their make and model foreign to his databanks but worth being wary of all the same. Especially given the attachments upon both of them. "He's armed." KARR tonelessly warned the ghoul, stalking closer once the man began to walk again. Could this intruder have the suspicion he was being watched?

His thoughts were only solidified when he pulled forth the more streamlined of the two weapons, keeping it ready while he stood there. It almost seemed as if the pointy eared creature was waiting for something. Either way, while the Trans-Am's coloring was slightly better suited to blend with the fall environment, their intruder stuck out like a sore thumb with all those bright colors. "He's growing suspicious. If we continue following him it is likely he will see us and attack before we get the chance to." KARR stated evenly, the yellow lines of his vox flickering in sync with his words. The distance between them was not too far, perhaps a little under ninety yards..."At this distance I can intercept him in as short as a second if we initiate Pursuit mode. With the correct timing and forethought we can catch him off guard completely."

His offer given, KARR remained still among the cover of wild grasses. What say the Dark Judge, continue stalking, or pounce on their suspecting prey?

An armed sinner made for a rowdy sinner.

From the secure inside of K.A.R.R.'s cockpit the Dark Judge studied their hapless prey; a young man with bright hair and very curious ears. The fiend would have to say that he had never met such a creature in all of his years. He sensed at least one thing familiar, however. "The sinner smells full of fear," Judge Fear whispered, his voice resonating within the vehicle. There was something off about this lad... Something the Dark Judge had yet to fully recognize. A closer look was warranted and the ghoul next ordered, "Cut off the sinner's route of escape and prevent yourself from being far too much exposed. Not everything is as it seems with this mortal." It was not the meager firearm, either.

Jak held onto his blaster tightly and quieted his steps, now he knew there was someone watching him, but who or what? Jak loaded his gun and stepped a few inches closer to what might be watching him. Jak frowned and held his fist.

Jak could feel his sides pulling on him, trying to warn him not to get any closer to what might lie ahead.

Strange, why was he turning towards them? So far as the AI knew his body was still hidden in the grass. Regardless, the Dark Judge's commands rang clear. While it seemed far more efficient to simply charge at the an and be done with it the moment the car's tires ran over his pointy eared head, at the same time his curiosity piqued over what the Dark Judge had in mind for dealing with their intruder. "I will reroute to cut him off." The AI replied evenly, turning the vehicle about. Quietly they crawled through the field, his windows tinting themselves black to prevent any premature notice. The interior darkened, the only light within KARR's cockpit being the bright glow of electronics and dashboard readings. A low beep and the CRT's flickered to life, allowing the ghoul to see their target from the vehicle's optics.

"We are in position." He announced after coming to a halt twenty yards away from the man's side. "I cannot move any closer without him spotting us. What do you have in mind for him?" He stated evenly, keeping his scanners on the man as he moved through the brush.

Hopefully whatever was planned did not involve any unforeseen surprises from their prey...

There were other ways to see a sinner through the fog of iniquity... This distance was perfect and the Dark Judge's malignant aura was already seeping out from within K.A.R.R.'s confines. "You shall see, K.A.R.R., you shall see..." was all the ghoul replied. He then grew silent and would remain so until otherwise prompted.

    It happened so subtly.

An icy breeze flowed through the area and carried an unexplainable aroma - a sickly aroma - with it. For a moment it seemed to collect in just one region of the field, the air choking with decay, before it decided to move on. All it took were a few inhales from the unsuspecting man and it was already over. He would suddenly feel ill, as if his stomach could no longer hold down food, and his nostrils were assaulted by something most rancid. Another breath, another exhale; it was too late. Cold, bitter talons reached further into the man's mind, the man's thoughts, and the session began. Let judgement commence!

Greetings, sinner... whispered a reverberating voice, hissing and deep. It echoed all around but, ultimately, only existed within the man's head. You smell rife with fear; your actions reek of it. What have you to hide when the just will surely discover? It was then that a sudden pain washed over the man, unseen claws raking themselves across his mind. I can see all of your sins... All of your wicked, selfish deeds. Come... the mysterious voice beckoned.

Another sharp jab and another! The man's unseen tormentor held tighter, the sadism great, and pleasingly added, "Come and repent before justice, Jak Mar.

Jak stood straight, looking around. Suddenly a horrible smell came flowing around him, one of rotting flesh. Jak held tight to his gun but then started to puke. "BWWWAGH!!!!"  He held his stomach almost dropping his gun in pain. And then a horrible voice inside his head, he held it.

Jak stood trying to see who was invading his mind "Who.who are you?!"

Dark Jak smirked "Hello....what are you doing here in Jak's mind, stranger?""Sins, huh? Oh yes, Jak's committed a lot of sins

Light Jak tried to help "Jak...I'll handle this...What do you want with Jak stranger?!"

Jak gritted his teeth "Sins, what sins? I have no idea who you are talking about?!"

He shall see indeed, both the man and machine.

KARR stayed silent as Judge Fear worked what abilities he had, unaware and unable to detect the energies that he was projecting onto the man but a short distance away. The only evidence there was of any possible action done by the Dark Judge was a sickly, rotting scent on the wind. Through the grass and air it traveled until it reached their intruder, who soon began clutching his head as if something was tormenting him deeply.

"...Your plan was to give him a headache?" KARR flatly noted, continuing to observe the man as he clenched his fingers into his skull and clenched his teeth. However, the AI's thoughts turned more curious as their target began to utter something to the uncaring winds. Was the Dark Judge inside the man's mind? From the sounds of things it may as well be true. The AI stayed silent once more as he continued to observe, having his own ideas as to where this may lead, but still interested as to what the outcome may be.

K.A.R.R., hush. The adults were negotiating. And aha!

Two more unique thoughts came to the aid of the first, Jak Mar not at all what he seemed. Three sinners for the price of one, the disembodied voice rasped. This must have been the source of Mar's disturbance. How curious, however... While one remained neutral and apparently in control during present time, the other two identities had yet to be... unlocked. What a maddening circus this sinner's mind must be. In what the Dark Judge assumed to be the more receptive of the three, he then proceeded to hail this "Dark" Jak by stating, I have come to judge the sinner known as Jak Mar, the ghoul answered. The unseen voice continued to snake its way through the young man's mind, Judge Fear searching and searching and searching. Such an odd creature, this man...

More questions, more demands; the Dark Judge heeded little as he continued to inflict agonizing shock after agonizing shock. Sins, Jak Mar. Your wicked deeds cannot escape judgement - my lawful eyes are eternal. I hereby ordain that you must be punished. There was then a dramatic pause before the voice added, To death!

The physical shell known as Jak Mar will receive no mercy, but the two entities inside him? It was up to either this Dark Jak or Light Jak to decide what happened next. They best hurry... Poor Jak Mar wasn't going to last much longer beneath such harsh psychic misery.

    Choose!
