The man would be paying for those words soon enough, soon enough indeed. KARR's shell took the bullets without much trouble, sparks flying from his paneling as they harmlessly ricocheted off and away. The Dark Judge's attacks proved to be far more effective this time around, blood and flesh ripped from bone and painting the ground a vibrant red. In time such colors would paint his body as well, once he caught that loudmouthed hick. However, it seemed fate had other plans, as he retreated back into the barn.

The walls of the structure were aged, and wood was but paper to the AI's powerful form. However, he knew better than to simply crash on in. The structure would be suspiciously defaced, and he would be stuck inside among heavy machinery without the aid of turbo boost or his microjammers. Instead, he returned to Judge fear's side, scanning over both person and structure as he quickly began to think of a way to get to him. That is, until he noticed movement, precise movement that resembled something quite familiar.

"He has grenades!" KARR warned, just as a single explosive arced out of the barn and bounced in front of them. Immediately, the AI rolled out of the way, not wishing to require servicing again so soon. With a loud bang it had detonated, dust and shrapnel filling the air for a few seconds before it all settled. "Judge Fear, are you still with us?" he asked as the dust cleared. A dumb question to be sure given the ghoul's persistence, but it never hurt to be sure...

A bag full of what...? Mortals and their confounded insults. Judge Fear whipped his mantrap back and effortlessly caught it, briefly admiring the sight of fresh blood painting the land. That's right, sinner. Scream! Scream and give up this worthless battle. The mortal had other ideas, however. No sooner had the wannabe-soldier peppered K.A.R.R. with a hailstorm of bullets and sought refuge at the nearby barn, the Dark Judge caught sight of something bouncing their way. He knew what that was. That was a - !

    BOOM!

While not the speediest of Judges or the most nimble, Judge Fear had the sole misfortune of being caught in the grenade's blast. The ghoul was sent flying heels over helm and he landed unceremoniously several feet away. Had he been mortal or weaker than even this given state, the Dark Judge would have surely been grievously wounded. Death had plans for him and, soon, the ghoul shakily rose to his previous towering height. "Hnngh... I remain," he hissed, displaying moderate signs of damage. It would take more than just an average explosive to do away with this body, that much the sinner could be assured. Dusty and a smidgen banged up, the Dark Judge shambled his way to K.A.R.R. and commanded, "The sinner thinks to find sanctuary beneath cumbersome machinery. We shall teach him that there is no running from the law. Continue to remain out in the open; I have an idea." And what a sinister idea it was.

He approached the barn and stopped a few meters away from its entrance, the Dark Judge glancing down at his utility belt. "Do I have a volunteer?" the fiend asked.

Immediately the three shrunken heads exploded with activity, the trio loudly clamouring to see who would be used and who would remain as mere decoration.
"Ooh, ooh! Choose me, Boss! Choose ME!"
"No me! I haven't seen action for five years!"
    "Five years? Try ten, pal."

Hmm... Judge Fear chose the last head to speak, removing it from his belt. Sounds of disappointment came from those who had not been chosen but the ghoul quietened their sorrows. "Hush. You will be instruments of justice all in due time," he spoke. That seemed to appease the others for now, the Dark Judge's belt no longer a source of chatter. "Are you prepared, my little one?"

"Boss, I will melt his face off."

    An excellent answer!

Judge Fear silently nodded and wound his arm back, the ghoul throwing his little one forward with one underhanded toss. Plunk, plunk, plunk! The shrunken head bounced against the ground and rolled beneath the tractor, its reddened eyes fluttering to life when it spotted Boss' target. "Hey, how you doin'?" The resulting explosion that came next should be fitting enough, as the entire tractor was soon to erupt in flames and smoke.

Another loud boom shook the earth, Judge Fear looking onward with delighted hissing.

"Damn!" The man hissed, squinting through the dust to find that while the ghoul had been hit, he was not down for long. He would have to use something stronger, more powerful... Maybe if he threw all the grenades at one he could possibly keep  the creature down, and then figure out a strategy for dealing with that car. He had never seen bullets just bounce off of a vehicle like that.

Muffled speech broke the tense silence, monster and vehicle talking about something before the lankier of the two had walked off. Strangely, the car still stood there, the light on its nose pacing back and forth ceaselessly. At once the man was reminded of a predator laying in wait, glaring patiently at him until its opportunity was laid out before it. There would be none, that he was sure of. "I'm not dying to some haunted house reject and his hunk of scrap." He hissed to himself, wrapping his fingers around a grenade and preparing to toss it at the waiting car.

    Plunk! Plunk! Plunk!

Freaky Grenade wrote:"Hey, how you doin'?"
The man's head whipped around to see crimson eyes staring up at him for a mere second, before his world was encased in painful fire. "AAAAAAUUUAUAAAAAAAGH!" he screamed, rolling desperately out from under the tractor and patting himself down. His clothes charred and his skin boiled into a wax-like paste upon his flesh, his hand clenched around two grenades. "YOU SHITTERS!" The man howled, clutching what remained of his gun and tossing it aside. In its place the man removed a pistol from the back of his pants, holding it at a firing position as he pulled the pins on his grenades with charred teeth. He fired off three rounds into the vehicle's tires as he staggered out of the building, the stink of burnt flesh and smoke curling from his body.

The man glared at the fiend, green eyes glowing angrily from their partially exposed sockets, his face contorting into an unholy union between a snarl and a grin. "I'LL SEE YOU BOTH IN HELL!" He roared, tossing the grenades to the ground in the process. Seconds later both went off in a massive cloud of dust and molten metal, land around both man and machine encased in a storm of death.

In a thundering explosion of metal and flames the machine their target was hiding under was no more, oily smoke and charred metal all that remained. However, there was something off about it all... "I still detect vital readings." KARR announced, his optics trained on the barn. How the man could still survive after that explosion was nothing short of remarkable, though luck apparently was on his side, as some humans would say.

Howling and screaming, the man lurched forth from the burning confines of the structure, his melted hands clenched around two grenades, live ones. "Stay away from him. He still has two grenades." the AI warned, already shifting himself into reverse to avoid the obvious outcome. However, the man still had a few things left up is sleeve, pulling out a pistol and sending three rounds into the AI's paneling. Sparks bounced about the car's tires, the treads reinforced with the same molecular armor as well.

Just as the AI had thought, the man gave a final roaring challenge before releasing the grenades. In seconds the world was turned dark with dirt and metal, but none seemed to reach KARR's body as he quickly pulled away. As for Judge Fear, the vehicle scanned through the dust, trying to locate the Dark Judge once more. Hopefully this time he stayed intact as well.

His little one had performed admirably. Judge Fear had seen the smoke and fire, his instincts well aware that the sinner will be flushed out momentarily. It came at a mild surprise, however, to hear K.A.R.R. still detect life from within the smoldering debris that was once a fully-functional tractor. "Such a foolish man. He could have ended his suffering without unnecessary pain," the fiend hissed. Nevertheless, the Dark Judge did enjoy a good hunt.

Even when his prey was nothing more than a charred husk, currently shouting delusional obscenities.

The ghoul didn't need to wait for K.A.R.R.'s words to see that their opponent was on a hellbent suicide mission. "Sss!" He learned since the last time. Oh did the Dark Judge learn. Judge Fear caught sight of those grenades and reacted faster than before, leaping out of the way in an attempt to avoid being blown to smithereens. His agility had proven successful. The ghoul had escaped completely unscathed and he glared through the unsettled dirt and smoke at the crazed sinner within. What had been the point of that, mortal? "There is no Hell that can contain me!" countered the Dark Judge. Limbo had only been a temporary setback and nothing more. Once the area became visible and no longer shrouded in a haze, Judge Fear caught a glimpse of what, exactly, had happened.

"Ask yourself, sinner... Had that been truly worth it?" The man was nothing more than a heavily-damaged shell, his flesh blackened and ragged. No longer did he resemble a human being. There was a sickening aroma of charred flesh that stained the air, but Judge Fear paid it no mind. "You've failed to defeat us as you've failed to protect your family," he continued to provoke. "Save yourself, sinner, and repent. There is, and never was, any escape."

Deafening thunder filled the man's ears, what remained of his skin on fire with pain as shrapnel buried itself into his flesh. With that last attempt to kill the two who had undoubtedly killed his family, the man's body was spent. He collapsed to the ground as the dust cleared, nerves on fire in some limbs and others he could not feel at all. From his charred form only a single eye was able to look up at the Dark Judge as he approached, the man's breath ragged and weary.

The ghoul's words were pondered over for but a moment, laughter rasping from the militia man's throat. Of course it all had been worth it, he had confronted the one who had stolen away his loved ones. He had made the monster jump and fall with the toss of a well thrown grenade. Above all, he faced these creature's with a tenacious ferocity that he figured they never had faced before. "You act like this is the end." He whispered, the man's one usable hand grasping at the dirt and scraping up a small handful. "So long as you stand here, I will keep fighting. I will find vengeance for what you did to my family."

Shakily the hand raised, fingers opening to scatter the earth about the man's head. All the while something ancient was spoken, words reverberating through the air as the breeze picked up and brought clouds in with it. The rasped words intensified, the chanting beginning to drone in the ghoul's helmet like an inescapable gale until finally...

    BRBRBRBRBBRBRBLBLBLE!

The earth around him cracked and gave way, swallowing him up whole in a wash of flames and shrill screams. For a few moments there was silence, nothing but the whipping winds and crackling flames were the man once stood. Then came a shrill roar and a rattle like that of dried bones, bleached white fingers grasping the edges of the hellish pit before pulling up a ghastly creature. In the man's place was a massive skeleton, fire burning brightly within its rib cage and eye sockets. Parts of it looked charred, as if the body it once was had been partially cremated, while others glistened white.

"IN THE NAME OF VENGEANCE I TAKE MY WRATH UPON YOU, DEMON!" He roared, swatting at both vehicle and driver with bony claws. "YOU NOT ONLY FACE ME BUT THE SPIRITS OF ALL YOU HAVE SLAUGHTERED! COWER!"

Luckily the Dark Judge managed to evade getting hit by the man's attempt at a final stand, watching as their target collapsed to the ground from his injuries. At last they could claim the farm as their own, without any risk of suspicion or aid from the other farms. The AI stayed silent as Judge fear approached the body, goading the man into surrendering his life. Predictably, instead of doing as advised, the human laughed before denying that he was defeated. Such illogical creatures, humans. Even when there was nothing of them left they still continued to fight against the inevitable.

"You have no way to fight, human. You are disarmed and your body is wounded beyond use." KARR coldly remarked. "Cease this foolishness and spare what little remains of your dignity in death." Just as the AI had spoken however, their adversary had sprinkled dirt upon his head and began to speak in language he had never heard before. Immediately he began to record the man and his surroundings, if only to prove that he was not the only one witnessing it.

"Get back!" He called to the Dark Judge as the earth began to split, fire engulfing the man until his was no more. KARR kept his distance from the fissure, scanning it to find just what the man had done to cause such an anomaly. The heat emanating from it was boiling hot, nearly like magma, but the wind was drawn down to it instead of up and away. He stored the data away for future processing, alert as he noticed movement coming from the gaping hole in the earth. In an instant a massive construct of bone arose from the fiery depths, fire burning within its ribs and eye sockets. Now it was the AI who began to wonder if this all was worth acquiring the farm, but to leave this creature here meant having to possibly deal with it later on.

KARR quickly shifted into drive and activated pursuit mode as the skeleton swatted at him, a talon managing to graze his paneling. Between the ghoul and himself, the AI knew he had more energy left in him, given Judge Fear's quick resort to his traps after a few tried with... Whatever he was doing with his hands. However, going back to the barn to find more weapons was futile thanks to the fire the Dark Judge had started. Racing forward, the AI slammed into the skeleton's back to try and knock it over.

Hmm, laughter... Evidently the Dark Judge's mercy was being discourteously rebuked. Again the sinner refused to alleviate his suffering, and again Judge Fear was beginning to find his patience reach infinitesimal levels. He released a curt hiss and merely replied, "It is the end - for you. Your vengeance is misplaced." This sinner may think himself a stalwart hero, a champion of life, but the Dark Judge had faced a far greater adversary than the pitiful creature before him. There was nothing for the ghoul to rightfully fe - ?

There was suddenly an intense spike in psychic activity - an intense, overpowering spike in psychic activity. Judge Fear knew not what the sinner had done, but the sprinkling of otherwise mundane earth upon the latter's forehead had steadily become... dire. Ancient words reverberated within the Dark Judge's helm, his otherworldly conscious flooded by the unfamiliar incantation. "What power is this?" he demanded to know, surprised. While the suffocating energies were not enough to outright purge the ghoul from his host's body, they were strong enough to momentarily astonish Judge Fear. He found himself kneeling down upon one leg while clutching the fabric of his cape, the Dark Judge shielding his upper torso from the crackling maelstrom. How had he not sensed this before, when he had been scouring the sinner's mind? Was this yet another one of Portal Breach's meddling effects?

Regrettably, the answer would have to wait. At the moment Judge Fear was currently fighting to keep this body exactly the way it is. A tumultuous earthquake shook the farm and a gaping fissure snaked its path toward both ghoul and vehicle alike. It had all transgressed without warning.

??? wrote:"IN THE NAME OF VENGEANCE I TAKE MY WRATH UPON YOU, DEMON!"
    How...?

Before them stood now a juggernaut of flame and bone; a monstrosity that seemed to fit neither life or death, much like himself. How was such a transformation possible in so rapid a time? Had the sinner found a source of ethereal powers? This time Judge Fear should have heeded K.A.R.R.'s warning, as the mortal-now-turned-abomination lunged for both of their throats. The swipes had been outrageously precise; Judge Fear felt this body's flesh tear apart as if it were nothing more than a thin sheet of paper and the ghoul staggered. A familiar weakness hounded his thoughts and mild alarm began to spread.

"..." Judge Fear was useless in this wretched, undesirable state.

With hardly any strength left in this body's limbs and his own internal vitality drained, the Dark Judge was doomed to remain kneeling. Begrudgingly he had to let K.A.R.R. act in his stead and the ghoul wondered, if ever so slightly, if his ally would betray him in this moment of weakness.

Putrid flesh and fluids dripped upon the monstrosity's claws as they tore through the Judge's body, while the other managed to draw sparks from the vehicle's metallic hide. Look how it grinned, the flickering flames within its sockets dancing eagerly. Was this truly worth the family you had slain, ghoul? Were you satisfied with the family of innocents you had slaughtered in the name of divine retribution? It gave a hellish laugh at its adversary's kneeling, attempting to hide behind his cape.

Yes, cower before the sum of your crimes!

Just as it went to swipe at him again, a rapid force slammed into his bony back, sending him forward. "AUUGH!" The skeleton roared. "WHO DARES?!" It was none other than that vehicle that so stubbornly rampaged forward to shatter his frame. Shards of bone clattered down from his frame and onto the charred ground. "FOOL! YOU SHALL PAY WITH YOUR LIFE!"

The creature's outraged cry given, it reared back, bony clenched like grisly claws. The fire in his chest blazed brightly and roared up the skeleton's neck before blazing out of his skeletal mouth. Taste the fires of revenge, machine of blood! Like a torrent of vibrant yellows and reds they poured out, searing the ground as they strafed towards the two toned car.
