    A Place To Roost

It didn't take too long for the Southern Water Tribe natives to lead Nightwing to the Inn. They chatted casually on the way there, walking and keeping in step with each other. Korra had her arms folded behind her head leisurely, enjoying this. This Nightwing guy seemed pretty interesting, it was only a shame that she didn't have Naga with her. She'd love to see his reaction to the polar bear dog, especially keeping the reactions of other's in mind. Some people were uneasy, others wanted to pet her almost immediately. She was interested to see what Nightwing would do.

She strolled into the lobby, looking around at everything there was to see. "There's about 4 floors here, Sokka and I are on the second floor." She began to point and direct to different areas. "The dining area is over there, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Over there is the lounge, where you can relax and watch some tv, and over here is the reception area where you talk to the owner and get your room!" She was quick to dash over to it and up to the table, greeting whoever was behind it. "Hi! Sokka and I found this guy, he's new. He'd like to get a room." This was exciting, she'd never helped out a new guy here before!

Korra and Sokka led the way to the Stock Pot Inn easily, all the while making sure to answer any questions he might have and help give him useful tips to make adapting to the Breach as easy as possible. It was a strange place, but for anyone that could go with the flow and make their new situation work for them, it could at the very least be a good one. More than that, friends and allies appeared there too, and often in the least expected ways… that had definitely been the case for the two Southern Water Tribe natives. They were from the same world, but two completely different times. Theirs was a bond that wound up transcending a lifetime, and that alone made it even more special than it already was.

Nightwing seemed to be a pretty cool guy, and despite the humorous nature of their first encounter with him, Sokka's instincts were definitely telling him that he would be good to have around. The three young adults seemed to get along really well already, and it was entirely possible that this trek to the inn might be just the first of many future adventures for them. That would certainly be neat!

Once they arrived in the lobby and Korra began to point everything out, Sokka grinned at catching sight of both Link and Link behind the front desk. It seemed that Impa and Sheik were off taking care of other tasks, most likely security related, but it was always nice to see any of the four Hyruleans here. Waving to his two boomerang buddies, Sokka added, "Hey guys! I know it's near the end of the main part of working hours, but I also know you two are experts at setting up rooms."

The inn was open until 11pm, but the young warrior knew very well that the main staff tried to wrap most of their busywork up around 5pm, give or take depending on the day. It was pretty flexible in and of itself, and he certainly admired the way they were able to keep everything running regardless of the hours.

Nightwing kept a casual but alert posture throughout the walk to this inn, and he felt far more at ease with these two young adults than he had in a long while. He almost felt himself becoming attached once again, but he quickly began to shut those thoughts out of his mind. Once the trio reached the Stock Pot Inn, the young hero looked around, arms crossed in front of his chest in a somewhat defensive posture. Eyeing the staff as they bustled around, he cleared his throat as Korra and Sokka spoke for him.

"Uhh..yeah, I do need a room. Preferably something with a window? It's kind of a personal preference." Nightwing didn't want to outright state why he'd be crawling in and out of the window in the middle of the night, but he wanted to leave his options open.

    Oh look! Sokka and Korra!

"Mm-mph," mumbled Link  as he chewed his way through a cookie and waved another in greeting. Without a pause, he pushed the plate of cookies he sharing with the other Link towards his two returning residents then raised an eyebrow at the sight of the man who had followed them in. Given how Korra pointed out the different areas of the lobby, he presumed this was going to be a new tenant?

He turned and nodded to the other Link and pulled out the forms required for a room. He flashed a thumbs up to Sokka's words. Oh yes, you know it. They have this setting up rooms business down pat. "You're welcome anytime, Sokka," he noted. "How was the city today? Busy or is everybody away to the beach already?"

Then he turned to the new person....and craned his head backwards. Wow, this guy was tall! "Hello, I'm Link. And this is also Link. A room with a window? Sure."

Except all their rooms have windows...

Link instantly perked up as he heard both Korra and Sokka enter the inn, a smile appearing on his face as his older nametwin pushed the plate of cookies forward. It seemed that the two Southern Water Tribe natives had returned home for now, and they had also brought a potential new tenant with them!

"Ha-ha, hey there!" Link greeted, laughing slightly at the statements from Korra and Sokka. He certainly appreciated the Avatar's getting straight to the point, just as much as he liked Sokka's voiced consideration. It might have been near the end of the main part of their shift, but both young heroes were always happy to help set someone up with a new room.

Returning the older boy's nod with one of his own, Link went about checking the current room list to see what rooms were available. He did already have most of it memorized, but it was always good to be able to quickly reference it before just doling out a new room. With a quick mental note to himself at looking over the way rooms were distributed at present, Link glanced back up to the new arrival, smiling and nodding to him at Link's written introduction.

"All of the rooms here have windows, actually, so you're in luck there," stated Link. "We do have four floors, though… did you have a preference for that?"

Both of the Links were behind the desk at this time of day, Korra giving both another wave to say hello. Her eyes glanced down at the plate of cookies and she couldn't help but snatch one up, chomping as quietly as she good. "Mmm!" She swallowed. "These are good, Link, who made them?" Her compliments to the baker! She turned back to Nightwing, briefly checking to make sure they had not lost him. Nope, still there! Arms crossed, semi-serious face going on. So he preferred a room with a window? "I don't blame you, sometimes its good to let the sun shine in, or get a good breeze going!" Though this place had its own breeze in the form of 'air conditioning'.

She grabbed another cookie, mentally deciding it would be her last since it'd be rude to eat all of the cookies, and nibbled while Link conversed with Sokka for a moment before both Links attended to Nightwing. Every room had a window, which was what she thought. All of four floors to choose from, and every available room on each floor! "I guess you have your pick of the litter, Nightwing!" She popped the rest of the cookie in her mouth and savored it. Once she found out who'd made these she had to see about how to get some for their own...

As the older Link pushed the plate of cookies towards them, Sokka couldn't help but grin, soon nodding to the two boys as he exclaimed, "Thanks!" Moving to take two for himself, he took a big bite of the first one, nodding in agreement with Korra's assessment and question before returning Link's thumbs up.

At the innkeeper's written questions, he swallowed his first bite of cookie before stating, "It was moderately busy. I'd say some people have hit the beach, but not enough for it to be too crowded if you headed out that way. I know you've already been a few times this summer, but you should try to go again soon! The weather's perfect!" Granted, the Water Tribe warrior had not learned about his young friends' curses yet, but he knew how much they loved the beach… and since he and Korra were set for a beach day soon, he did want to make sure that any friend of theirs had the chance to enjoy much the same on their own terms.

Sokka couldn't help but broaden his grin slightly as Nightwing inquired about a room with a window, thinking to himself that he was pretty sure that all of the rooms in the inn had windows, but inwardly figuring that asking that might help his new companion relax his guard just a bit. The current defensive air about him just seemed to be part of his nature, especially given the earlier exchanges he had had with the hero, but hopefully, starting to get set with a room would help ease his mind.

"That you do," echoed Sokka in response to Korra's remark. The Stock Pot Inn did have a good number of residents, but admittedly, he was rather grateful that it wasn't too crowded here. One was easily able to have their own space regardless of the number of there residents, but it was still something he appreciated, and he had a feeling Nightwing might too.

Nightwing still had a hard time believing that any establishment could operate fully in a city, without making any sort of profit on their guests. It was suspicious, but at the sight of the two Links innocently bringing cookies out to the two Water Tribe teens, he felt slightly less tense. If they had some ulterior motive, then why would cookies be a part of any cunning plan.

When asked about his choice of room, he thought for a moment, a bit of a grin coming to his features. "Top floor, maybe? I always appreciate roof access...oh, and I'm Nightwing. I met Korra and Sokka when I was...coming into this place. They've been kind of helping me get used to it all." He leaves out the messy details of his failed stalking of them, and his plans to use the rooftop as a point of access for his crime-fighting.

"The kitchen staff gave us them,"  wrote Link, puffing a little with pride. It wasn't himself who made them but it was his staff and as boss - no matter how young - he was always proud of them and their work. And with such compliments, it made him even more eager to share the cookies. Link pushed the plate a bit more towards the three, eyebrows waggling a little to suggest they take a few more of the treats.

"Aa,"  sounded the boy at Sokka's suggestion to take another beach trip. He turned to take a look at the calendar hanging on the wall, briefly wondering when the next day the Hyruleans were free on. Cursed or not, they were set on having an epic summer no matter what. Beach trip plans could wait. Work first.

One top floor room for one Mr. Nightwing (or was it Knightwing? Guess they'll know once he signed the forms). Link unlocked the cardkey drawer and extracted a random cardkey from the fourth floor row. He took a moment to read the room number before passing the cardkey to the younger Link so he could mark it down on the forms. With that, room 408 is off the vacancy list.

"The top floor door is locked the same time the front entrance is (11pm) but like it, you can use your cardkey to unlock the door," Link's new message read. It didn't look likely that his new tenant would be accidentally locked out on the roof since the staff tend to check before locking but from having several fliers as tenants in the past and present, you never knew.

Link nodded a bit to echo his older nametwin's answer about the cookies, right before he chuckled at his move to push the plate a touch closer to Korra, Sokka, and Nightwing. Motioning to them with his right hand, he noted, "Feel free to help yourselves! There are plenty to go around."

It was good to confirm that the city had been running about its average level of busyness, and hopefully that would bode well for their next trip to the beach. That much stood whether they went to one of the more public or private areas along the coastline… and it was certainly true even with the curses that he and his family currently bore. The curses had certainly made the beach trips more than a little interesting, but even so, they were no less fun.

As the young man mentioned that he would possibly prefer the top floor, Link grinned as he moved to pull out the necessary forms. Living on the fourth floor himself, he certainly appreciated the level as well as the access to the roof. His ears perked up slightly as he caught that their newest tenant's name was Nightwing… now that was an interesting name… maybe it was an alias? That certainly made sense given his unique but very cool outfit… either way though, that was the name he was given, so it's what he was set to use here.

"The top floor it is," stated Link, nodding as he took the key from the older Link, caught its number, and marked it down on the form. Looking back up to the masked hero, he added, "It's nice to meet you, Nightwing!"

Once Link had explained the times that the outside doors of the inn were locked, this Link moved to turn the form around and place it on the front of the desk so that Nightwing could see it. Offering both the cardkey and a pen to him, he said, "All right, if you can just write and sign your name, you'll be good to go!"

Aah, the kitchen staff. She should have known. "I'll keep an eye out for these in the dining area then!" So chewy, so warm, so chocolaty! Ooh, she could feel her mouth watering already. At the two Link's urging that they take more cookies, she gleefully grabbed three more cookies. That was the last of it though, no more! This time she nibbled the cookies slowly, savoring the taste.

Pick of the litter, Nightwing did have. And his choice was the top floor. "Nice choice!" Lin had already picked their room beforehand, and Korra had decided to room with her since it would save room and time. It was interesting, living with the older woman, but it was nice to have a roommate! Even one so much older than herself. "Roof access is also nice, they have a little garden up there. It makes for a good meditation spot." It was definitely Tenzin's first choice for meditation. She finished one cookie off and got started on another, moving out of the way for Nightwing. It seems the Links had his little paper ready to sign, now! And maybe he could grab a cookie for himself at the same time!

"I hope you like it here, Nightwing!" It was a nice place to live, and the people weren't too bad either.

Nodding along with Korra's note about looking out for the cookies, Sokka returned Link's eyebrow waggle with one of his own before moving to take three more of the treats himself. He was glad that the two young heroes seemed to like his advice about taking a beach trip once they could, and as the older boy glanced to the calendar, Sokka began thinking about the next chance he and Korra could steal away for the beach. Possibly even tomorrow…

Having just paused before he could pop another cookie into his mouth, Sokka glanced to Nightwing with a curiously raised eyebrow as he asked about the top floor, right before his own expression shifted into a grin, both at the idea of roof access and the mention of both Korra and himself. "Yeah, we figured we could help him out on that front and lead him here. You guys know how that goes."

As Link and Link got the form and card key set for Nightwing, Sokka polished off his second cookie and nodded once more to second Korra's exclamation. "Same here. And you know you can always ask any of the four of us if you ever need anything. There's usually someone who can help downstairs, be it at the desk or not. Also, Korra's in room 231 and I'm in 233. We'll have to hang out sometime… maybe even spar if you like!"

At the mention of sparring from Sokka, Nightwing's features turned into something that made him look a few years younger, which, considering he wasn't too terribly old in the first place, was a statement of how lively it made him look. He grinned openly to the other teen, and clenched a fist slightly. "I'd be honored, Sokka. If you think you can take me." He glanced to Korra as well, giving her a raised brow. Figuring they must be from a similarly-trained tribe with such similar clothes, she must have combat training of SOME sort! "Same goes for you, Korra."

At the offered contract, the grin faded, and Nightwing looked the part of the brooding, older boy he had mostly been since arriving in the Breach. He spoke lowly, attempting to let the more vocally-inclined Link be the only one to hear him. "No one else is going to see this paper, right? If I sign my real name, it'll be secret?"

Link grinned. Current tenants leading possible new tenants to the inn. Oh yes, they knew how it went indeed. In fact, when Link was bored in the office, he did a mental tally of who brought how many and who. Half of the newcomers here were brought by existing tenants whilst the other half made their own way here after being informed of free lodging here by others elsewhere. Regardless of how they come, it certainly saved on advertising!

When Sokka mentioned a spar with the newcomer, Link raised an eyebrow, looked at the two from the Water Tribe then at Nightwing, trying his best to judge how strong the latter was. He was certainly tall and his frame suggested that he trained often. He wondered what kind of skills, abilities and powers he might have. That was always a point of interest for everybody new arriving at the Breach, especially with so many people in this world being more than eager to drag another person to the Olympic Stadium for a good old fashioned fight or two or a dozen.

Regardless of what kind of fighting style Nightwing had, Link was sure the spar would be a sight to see.

At catching their new tenant’s tone of voice, the innkeeper lowered his ears as he tried his best to pretend he cannot hear anything - pretty hard when you have Hylian hearing. He shall let the other Link hold the reins for the time being and instead, this boy turned and picked up a cookie in each hand and adamantly shoved it in between Sokka and Korra’s thus turning their collection of cookies to four.

Link nodded at Sokka's note about how he and Korra had led Nightwing to the inn. It was very common for tenants to help new arrivals find their way there, and whilst he himself had found the inn more on his own after his landing in this world, he was always glad when people were able to safely make their way here.

Just as he was pleased to hear the helpful notes of where the Water Tribe duo lived, Link could not help but smile a bit more as the three teens before him started talking about sparring. The Hero of Time definitely had keen interest in sparring, and that was something that had held true to a degree even before he had started his first quest. The Forest Training Center alone had helped hone that… he might have been something of an outsider growing up given his lack of a fairy, but thankfully, he was still able to enjoy that training ground, both by himself and with his friends.

Link soon blinked in surprise though as he caught Nightwing's reaction to the new room form that had been placed in front of him. His youthful grin was soon replaced with a far more pensive expressive, but before the Hero of Time could try to sort out just what had happened here, his ears perked up slightly as Nightwing spoke softly to him. His… his real name? He'd had a feeling that Nightwing was very possibly an alias, but given the sheer variety of people on the Breach and their unique names, he had not wanted to assume one way or the other.
