"They're wearing some masks and such to be extra festive, but they're not in full costume like all of you," explained Tael, bobbing his glow to Neri a bit. "I can tell they're having fun even if their outfits are on the simple side, though!" After all, enjoying oneself was the most important part of this holiday!

The young fairy was definitely intrigued by the idea of sitting inside of the Din's Pearl prop, but as Leaf himself noted, he was indeed set to continue on. Zooming over to take a spot in the air in between his sister and the Spirit of Wisdom, Tael was already even more excited about the night than he had already been. As for Tatl, she was just glad to see that her brother was enjoying himself and able to join them. He had grown a good bit since he had set himself off to do so, and he was making small strides every day that were enough to make her chime in pride.

Very shortly, the Hyruleans had approached the first house on their stop for the night, and Link outright grinned as they got closer to its walkway. If his memory served correctly, whilst they weren't close friends with the residents here, the people inside were still very nice each time they saw them in passing. And for Halloween itself, aside from their great decorations, he certainly remembered them as having some especially tasty candy!

At Tetra's question to make sure that she had the idea of trick-or-treating down, Link noted, "That's right! That's all we have to do." He then nodded to back up to Impa's words, right before he wound up grinning at her assessment of where they sat age-wise for those that set out to get candy. He did enjoy the activity, but as he got older, he knew he would be content to take a backseat from that aspect of the holiday and just enjoy candy on his own. The costumes, decorations, candy, and fun with his friends could be enjoyed no matter what they actually wound up doing for the day, but for the pirate captain's first Halloween? Trick-or-treating was a perfect way to get out and experience it!

A moment later, Link couldn't help but chuckle at Tetra's playful remark to the older Link. They might not have been the youngest kids out and about tonight, but two of them were certainly younger versions of two tough pirates!

They approached the first house and Link kept glancing at Tetra, excited and nervous to see what kind of feelings she might have for her first time trick or treating. As he had guessed, she was a little skeptical of the idea still - at least not as much as she was when they first told her.

“Yeah, that is really all you have do,” assured Ciela alongside Impa then the fairy snuck a peek at the costumed Sheikah before sighing dramatically. “As much as I wouldn’t like to agree with HIM.”

Link chuckled. Perhaps they were at the older end of the age range for Trick or Treating. Whether the house-owners were too polite to mention it aloud or the holiday spirit had taken hold of them and they failed to notice how old the kids were, they had yet to be called out upon for being a bit older than the majority of the candy grabbing children.

He was just about to write his own response when Tetra remarked that there was a younger and cuter looking Gonzo. “Ngaa-ah!” he cried out defensively.

Later on in the night, he would remember these words and get mighty unsure of how to feel regarding being called ‘cute’ by Tetra. For now, though, he stood on his tip toes, leant closer and over her, and puffed his chest a little to look threatening. “Oi, oi, oi!”

“He may be a bit young, but it doesn’t mean he’s not a tough pirate,” Neri translated with a giggle. “I guess he is pretty cute though.”

“Nnnngnh...” groaned Link. He reached up to catch the fairy as if physically bring her back to his side of this the argument, but the Spirit of Wisdom evaded his fingers with another giggle, and moved to hide behind Zelda.

“Mah!” sighed Link, throwing his hands up in resignation. He started pushing their group along, up towards the door and waved for the one closest to it to start the evening off with the first knock.

Whilst Sheik had not been the only one to notice the quick, heartfelt exchange between Tetra and Link, she could tell that her descendant had also caught that. More than that though, she did seem rather glad that regardless of the attention, no matter how slight, that the others were as set to give her that moment as they were observant. Returning Tetra's smile with a confident one of her own as the older girl joined her again, Sheik met her with a wink before indicating the direction of their destination with a tilt of her head.

"That's right," noted the doubly disguised princess in unison with Link. Chuckling a bit at that, it was only a moment later that Sheik couldn't help but laugh at Ciela's lighthearted banter and joking use of a masculine pronoun with Impa. It made perfect sense given the way that she had fallen into full character with her costume, but it was especially amusing to the current Rito prince given her own guise. Getting used to referring to herself as a boy had been one of the slightly more mindset-oriented parts of adapting to her Sheikah guise back in Hyrule, as early on she had to pay a bit more attention to that aspect, but it had not taken her long at all to get used to it. It took a little effort, but that soon led to it becoming second nature, and now, it was just as fluid as her being referred to as either gender depending on the setting.

Sheik knew that whilst they were all still just within the age range of going trick-or-treating, she was grateful that her own slight height advantage did not seem to factor into things here. She never really thought it would, but it was always encouraging to see just how keen the houses in the city were to indulge them with candy the same as they were any other group. "We might not do it forever, but it's definitely fun! And after we've got to explore the city, we can continue the night back in our rooms!" Candy trades weren't too common for the kids as they all tended to have similar tastes, but it was still fun to see just how much they each came home with.

At Tetra's note regarding the older Link, Sheik simply grinned at the boy's instinctive reaction. "A cute Gonzo, is it? Well, who am I to disagree with the Sage of Earth?" That smile only turned into a short bought of laughter at Neri's own assessment and Link's ensuing groan. As he tried to grab for Neri around her dodging behind herself though, the disguised princess was quick to note, "Ha-ha, sorry Link. Or rather… I guess you can't help it, Gonzo! It matches your toughness!" Hopefully her friend wouldn't mind that added bit of teasing too much… or at least he didn't seem to mind it that he wasn't able to help guide them towards the door.

Here they were, the first stop of the night! With a grin to her descendant, Sheik moved to knock on the door for the quartet, set to greet their neighbor with the call of this holiday.

Tetra nodded understandingly. She knew it was just candy and they could easily buy their own since it wasn’t like it was particularly expensive or anything, but it would still be nice to be able to do this for a while more. The slowed aging process here certainly helped to that extent in keeping them youthful for this years to come. They had had this discussion before in the first month she was here and it had taken her a while to wrap her head around the idea.

On one hand, the captain wanted to grow up, get stronger and taller. On the other hand, there was an incredible amount of smirking involved whenever people realised that the captain of a bunch of notorious pirates was a young girl of her age, even more so when they underestimate her and she dealt them a pride injuring blow. She would not mind a chance to continue living like that for a while longer, especially if she had friends of similar age being by her side through it. Like those around her now.

Tetra snorted a noise of laughter at the Hero of Wind’s response to her remark, and was about to point out that his attempt to tower over her doesn’t work when they were exactly the same height. Before she could let loose that cheeky reply though, Neri added her own two rupees into the mix and Tetra laughed. She lifted her fists to give the Spirit of Wisdom a fairy bump and her other hand to lightly tap against the back of Zelda’s right hand.

They were nudged along the path, Zelda knocked and Tetra watched the door carefully as it swung open, spilling warm light onto the pavement they’re on and letting out a gust of warm air. “Trick or Treat,” announced the disguised princess even before she caught a good look at the occupants of the house.

As everyone assured Tetra that trick-or-treating really was just as simple as it sounded, Impa wound up grinning outright at Ciela's own teasing remark. Winking to the Spirit of Courage, she jumped right back into her cadence for Linebeck, grabbing onto the labels of her jacket as she stated, "Oh come on, Sparkles. You might not like it, but you know I'm right. You need to trust the instinct of a great captain." After a moment though, the Sheikah did hold up her left fist for the fairy to meet with a bump if she so chose. Whether she did or not, she as just very glad that Ciela was already enjoying tonight as much as she was.

Sheik's voiced idea about them not trick-or-treating forever soon had her guardian catching her gaze with a proud look, right before she noted to the grand notion of their family continuing the night back in their rooms. The Sage of Shadow loved getting to set out and explore the city on this festive occasion, and she always cherished the especially fun time they had back at the inn once they had returned, whether it was before or not they wound up taking to partial costumes.

Impa could not help but grin further at Link's reaction to Tetra's words, and she found herself rather agreeing with Neri's own sentiment. The Hero of Winds was certainly as tough a warrior as he was a pirate, but even as he had started to grow up, he was undeniably cute. As it was, the Sheikah simply chuckled softly to herself as the boy sought to help push his three friends forward to the front door. As Sheik knocked and Tetra started off their synchronized greeting of "Trick or Treat," Impa watched happily as the pirate captain received her first candy of the holiday.

The door soon opened and the kind couple that live there answered it, their smiles clearly visible even underneath their duo costumes of a certain spaceman and an interesting alien.

"Ah, hello there! It's nice to see you all here!"
"Yes! Oh, your costumes are always such a delight to see! I love the birds and pirates this year! Please, go ahead and have some candy!"

As the woman held out the bowl for the four costumed children, Impa met both her and her husband with a grateful smile and nod, thinking to herself once more that whilst she thoroughly loved the Stock Pot Inn, they really had lucked out in the residential area being such a great neighborhood. It was a change from both Hyrule Castle Town and Kakariko Village of course, but it was still very special in its own way, and she was pleased to see it show itself in full on this holiday. This was definitely the best way to start off this activity for Tetra, and Impa hoped that the night would continue to be a truly wonderful one for her.

Link chuckled along with his older nametwin, both at Ciela's and Impa's humorous exchange as well as at the idea that they were at the older end for the activity of trick-or-treating. With a nod at Sheik's own assessment for both the early and later parts of the night, he soon exclaimed, "Exactly!" The Hero of Time knew that they would likely opt not to participate in it in this way once they got older, but for now, he certainly enjoyed it, and was beyond thrilled that he had got to experience this holiday after his own arrival in this world. Thus far, he, Link, and Sheik all loved it, and he certainly hoped that Tetra would have as much fun tonight as they had over the past couple of years.

At Link's reaction to Tetra's teasing as well as Neri's own statement, Link couldn't help but laugh even more. He certainly sympathized with his best friend, but the exchange between him and the pirate captain was definitely amusing. He had always hoped to be able to see the two of them together ever since he had met the Hero of Winds, and for the past two months, he had been so glad for that chance. Getting to know both the older boy as well as Tetra now had been nothing short of amazing, and anything from simple hangouts to bigger adventures had only gotten even more fun since she had fallen into their family as well.

Still grinning a bit at Sheik's playful addition to Tetra's joke, Link soon found himself caught in Link's pushing of the group along. Very soon they were right up at the front door of the first house, and once the disguised princess had knocked for them, they were set to call out/display the standard greeting for this holiday. Simultaneously along with his friends, Link exclaimed, "Trick or Treat!"

At catching both the responses and costumes of the couple that lived here, Link simply beamed. Reaching for a handful of candy at the woman's prompt, he added, "Thanks! It's good to see you too! Those are great costumes!" The Hyruleans might not have known the Irvings as well as they did some of their neighbors at the inn, but they were always very kind and it was definitely great to see them around holidays and otherwise. As such, regardless of their proximity to the inn, they were a perfect first stop for Tetra's first night trick-or-treating!

Neri gave a giggle as she flew forward to meet Tetra’s fairy bump and Link smiled softly at the sight. Truth be told, he did not mind the teasing he had to endure. He knew it was certain to happen if Tetra was here and he had rather… missed it. The same way he would miss anything and anybody from his world, he had missed the carefree banter between himself and the pirates, even if he ended up being the object of the teasing with very little way to counter their words.

“You just so happen to be right this time,” Ciela pretend to huff before with an extra delighted flapping of her wings, met Impa’s raised fist with a fairy glow bump. Already, the fairy was sure she was having the best Halloween she had on the Breach so far. This was a ridiculous amount of fun. It was amazing how well the Sage of Shadows had grasped Linebeck’s character, and it made Ciela wonder how she managed to keep this all a surprise when surely to achieve this level of characterisation required a LOT of quizzing those familiar with the captain.

They all made their way down the path towards the house and Link wondered what costumes the Irvings would be wearing this year. They were always one of the first houses they visit during this holiday, namely because they were one of the closest to the inn. Sheik’s knock was soon met with the door opening and Link hoisted his Trick or Treat message a little higher.

“A-haha!” chuckled Link as he recognised the glass dome costume. He may not be familiar with space, but he had been here long enough to recognize those domes are usually associated with space and intergalactic travel. Link supposed if one of them was a spaceman then the other would have to match and be an alien? He had never seen an alien with leaf on their head, though, but Kev liked to sit and absorb sunlight, so an alien with a plant isn’t too surprising.

“Hoi, hoi, hoi!” he chanted as he was recognised as a pirate, his message bobbed up and down in his hands as he did so.

“Link is right, your costumes look great,” complimented Neri and she flew down to grab some of the candy in the older Link’s stead so that he didn’t have to reach past the others for it. “Thank you. Happy Halloween to both of you!”

Sheik was glad to see Tetra's amusement at her own kidding, Neri's quip, and of course Link's next response, and her grin only broadened as her descendant met her for a Tri-Five. Returning the gesture, the doubly disguised princess was now set to start off their first stop of the night. No sooner had she knocked and the door opened than did she join her friends in exclaiming, "Trick or Treat!"

Sure enough, as they had the past couple of years, the Irvings had donned great costumes themselves. The two of them had appeared to come from a world that was a little more advanced than any of their times of Hyrule, but although the holiday of Halloween was not something they had back home, they had mentioned before that they were very familiar with dressing up in costumes at various times throughout the year. That talent showed especially true on Halloween, and this year was possibly their best duo yet.

"Thank you," said Sheik, taking a handful of candy whilst nodding in agreement with Link and Neri, inwardly feeling glad at the general recognition for her and Tetra's more unique costumes. Around the Spirit of Wisdom's chipper greeting, the disguised princess glanced to Tetra to see what she thought of the couple's costumes. The pirate captain had previously met the Irvings, but this was their first time stopping by their house since she had arrived on the Breach. She knew that her descendant had been excited for the holiday, and now that they were out and about enjoying it, she hoped that that was only continuing to grow for her. It seemed to be, at least.

"Yeah, Happy Halloween! I hope you've have a good one so far!" Sheik knew that many adults tended to stay at home around helping to pass out treats for visiting kids, but many others were either at parties or other gatherings throughout the night, and others would later head out for such after handing out some candy. Tally had been a prime example of that last year. Perhaps the two here would either have some company over later, or head out themselves. Either way, it looked like their night was off to a nice start… at least if Colette's smile and Lloyd's cheerful expression were anything to go off of.

Tetra’s eyes quickly adjusted to the bright light of the open doorway and she blinked at the costumed pair in front of her. She remembered the Irvings in passing, mainly because she had helped Colette up from when she tripped on the pavement in front of the inn. Right now, though, their neighbours were dressed for the occasion, one with dome on his head and the other with a leaf. She wasn’t sure about the leaf-topped costume, but the dome one she could recognise as something to do with space travel, so she would presume the leaf-being had something to do with space as well.

What mattered more though was that the costumes were excellent and she almost wanted to turn them around to admire some of the finer details. What mattered even more were the candy in the bowl held by the woman. All doubts on this holiday were immediately erased from her mind. It was a fantastic holiday and they were getting treats - for sure!

“Happy Halloween,” Tetra said cheerily as she too grabbed a handful of sweets. Once her loot was placed securely into her oversized Spoils bag, she tilted her head and looked at the at the couple up and down again. “If you don’t mind me asking, what exactly are you two?”

She might not ask every house they visit, but since this was the first and they were neighbours they’ll likely see often, she wanted to know.

"This time and many more times!" Impa noted with a grin and wink at Ciela's mock huff and subsequent fairy bump. In truth, the Sheikah's grasp of Linebeck's character had simply come from paying close attention whenever Link, Tetra, or any of the three spirits spoke of him. Her original intention had simply been to use her ever observant nature to sate both her curiosity about that future of Hyrule as well as to learn more about a close friend of the Hero of Winds. However, a couple of months prior to this holiday, once she had been struck with the inspiration for what to dress up as, she was able to turn the knowledge she had gleaned into something even more useful. And at catching not only Link and Tetra's reactions but the fun that the Spirit of Courage was having, she was especially glad that she had.

"It's nice to see you both as well. I must say, you've outdone yourselves on your costumes yet again," stated Impa, smiling a bit more to the Irvings. The Hyruleans seemed to have a creative match in their neighbors here, and the same it was always nice to see the two of them, it was just as nice to see the creative costumes they came up with each time an occasion presented itself.

As her four charges thanked Lloyd and Colette around taking the offered candy, Impa looked to the young couple with a slightly raised eyebrow at Tetra's question. She had gathered that they were a sort of space explorer and alien, but she was not quite sure who they were meant to be.

"Ah, thank you! And a happy Halloween to each of you as well!"
"Thank you! It's been a great one so far! And we don't mind at all! We actually decided to dress up as a small space explorer and one of the cute little aliens from the planet he landed on. I think I'm called a Pikmin."
"Heh-heh, yeah, that's right. This costume is actually really comfy, too."

Now comfort was always an added bonus… that was something Impa could definitely attest to whether they were dressed up for this holiday or in disguise for any other occasion.

Link could tell that his older nametwin was just fine from the teasing, but all the same, he soon patted his friend's shoulder and gave him a confident nod. Things had already been amazing with the two of them here as well as Impa and Sheik, but the addition of Tetra had been as perfect as it had been welcome. In some ways, the banter and good times he got to share with the other three kids reminded him of some of his time back in the Kokiri Forest. It had not been all fun growing up there, especially since he was always the boy without a fairy. Even so though, there were still plenty of good times, and he had still had friends. He wasn't as close to each of the Kokiri as he was to Saria, but even before he had met Navi, he had not been alone.

Once he had set out on his quest to save Hyrule, he had made many more friends, including a couple that quickly rose in rank close to Saria. Meeting so many people had been one of his favorite things about his quest, and the same had carried through to Termina… even if he was forgotten every time he had to reset the three days. That downturn had been reversed here though, and now, not only was he with his closest friends here, he was with his family. The banter was occasionally a part of it, and both it and the carefree time spent trick-or-treating helped prove even more that he truly was getting to live out his previously lost childhood to the fullest.

As Halloween greetings were exchanged and candy was given, Link grinned at confirming that the Irvings had had a good Halloween so far. "Ah…" He couldn't help but marvel at the description of just what the two of them had dressed up as, for although he didn't outright recognize the specific spacesuit or alien species, he still thought they looked neat. Chuckling a bit at the mention that Lloyd's costume was comfortable, Link added, "I'm glad it is! I'll have to keep an eye out for any Pikmin in the future!" Whether it was the actual aliens or otherwise, he couldn't help but be very vaguely reminded of Deku Scrubs… whatever these aliens were, they appeared pretty interesting!

Around this, Tael was still marveling at both their costumes as well as the added decorations here, soon drawing an amused chime from Tatl. Festivals were something the two fairies had often enjoyed seeing, even though the last one in Termina had been less than pleasant… at least things were better back where the other points in time remained.

Neri dropped the retrieved candy into the bag Link was holding out for her. The boy grinned widely as he looked into the bag, then he looked up again to nod his happy thanks to the couple. Tetra's question to the two of them had the innkeeper and his fairies looked at them curiously. After being here for so long, Link and the three spirits no longer possessed the same level of curiosity in space. They had been in it once and that was more than enough for them, especially when it brought the ill memories of Phazon. However, whilst they might not actively seek to learn more about it, they are not against hearing about it in conversation.

"A Pikmin? That sounds pretty cute actually," said Neri then agreed with the younger Link’s words. "Yes, if we ever spot any in the future, we will tell them about you and see if we can send them your way. I'm sure they would be delighted to learn that somebody knows something about them in this world."

And that was something the fairies and Link could attest to. The Hero of Winds may had been the first of their Portal Breach family to arrive here, but the presence of somebody from Hyrule, in the form of Zinnia, had helped in his settling down here. Even if the Irvings were not from the alien and spaceman world, he was sure just knowing they know what they are would help them acclimate to this new world.

Their treats obtained, pleasantries exchanged, Link smiled and nodded to their neighbours. He gestured for them to take their leave. Time to move along, now.

“We’ll see you around. Have a lovely evening.”

Sheik was glad to hear that not only were Lloyd and Colette having a great Halloween so far, but also that Tetra was openly curious about their costumes. She knew that they were each likely wondering what exactly they were, but considering how this was her descendant's first holiday on the Breach, it was the slightest bit endearing for her to be the one to openly voice that. All five of the Hyruleans were curious by nature of course, but it was always interesting to see how any of them might express that at various times.

"I see," noted Sheik, nodding as Colette described just what they were dressed up as. Like the rest of her family, she'd not heard of Pikmin outright, but she was familiar enough with space travel and aliens. Regardless of her own adventure in space earlier this year, her own uncle-like-figure was an alien himself! The leaf atop Colette's costume did have the disguised princess wondering if they got energy from sunlight much the way that Kev did, though… she might have to make a note to look up these aliens sometime.

Nodding in agreement with Neri, a little more conversation was had around the visit before it was time for the party to continue onward. With a wave to the Irvings, Sheik called, "Take care! Happy Halloween!"

And with that, they were off. As they continued on to the next house, the disguised princess glanced to Tetra, stating, "See? That really is all there is to it. It might seem a little odd, but it's still fun."

An explorer and the cute aliens he met on the planet he landed on.

“Comfy is indeed the key,” Tetra noted and nodded, amazed once again at the concept of there being so many worlds out there. It made her own world seem a little small and her own knowledge, limited. The thought of there being so much she didn’t know here and out there had been a point of minor annoyance for her when she had just arrived. Now, she had accepted the fact and, after some long quiet thinking, understood that regardless of the true size of the universe, the Great Sea was still an incredibly vast and, while her knowledge was not top notch, she knew and experienced a lot more than many people. With those two acknowledgments in mind, her frustration dissolved and she regained her sense of contentment with what she currently has.

After a few more pleasantries were exchanged, they said their goodbyes and made their way back towards the road before the approached the next house. Once on the sidewalk, Tetra shook her bag and returned Sheik’s glance with a bemused grin. “Huh, it really is all there was to it. Just greeting, get candy and leave.”

Why was this holiday not practiced in the Great Sea? Well, for one they don’t have the same amount and variety of candy. In the Great Sea, the kids would probably walk away from a house with a slice of cake, bun or bread in their bag instead of wrapped candy.

“Well, let’s fill up these bags then,” the captain said, catching hold of her royal ancestor’s arm and began moving off towards the next house in the street.

As the final pleasantries were exchanged between the Hyruleans and the Irvings, it was soon time for the trick-or-treating party to be on their way. With one more wave and nod to Lloyd and Colette, Impa motioned for her four charges to follow after her. "Have a very Happy Halloween."

"Thank you! You guys do the same!"
    "We'll see you later!"

With that, the quintet was set to continue on their quest for candy and holiday adventures. Leading the way for the moment, the Sheikah soon turned back to see Sheik remarking to Tetra on just how simple the activity really was. The young captain in turn seemed a little bewildered, but nevertheless pleased with her simple success in acquiring the treats. "As easy as it is, one of the best parts about heading out to trick-or-treat is getting to see the other decorations, costumes, and of course taking the chance to truly enjoy the night out. I have no doubt that just like the previous holidays here, you'll ave your fair share of everything long before we head back to the inn."

Impa herself had not ever procured any candy on the Halloween outings of course, but aside from any candy she did partake in back at the inn, she did greatly enjoy accompanying her charges. They were all more than capable of taking care of themselves, yet it was still a nice chance to spend another sort of time together as a family. The previous Halloweens had certainly been fun, and the Sheikah had no doubt that this one was only going to be more special with the addition of Tetra to their ranks.

In what seemed like no time at all, the Hyruleans had tackled each of the houses along this first street, and with their bags starting to show the fruits of their outing, they were set to continue on to the next part of the neighborhood. As they started down the next section of the sidewalk, Impa glanced to Ciela, and with a playful grin worthy of Linebeck himself, noted, "I have to say Sparkles, these four are experts at gathering treasure."
