    Plates And Ponderings

Post by Minion on Sun Oct 27, 2013 6:04 pm

    Time: 3:01 PM
    Date: 10/26/13

It was nearly a year. Literally one more month, and it'd be a year since he had moved into the Inn. A year since he had left the lair behind and started a new life for himself. The months had flown by, much quicker than he had expected them to. He had a lot more plans for what to do but honestly? He had almost fallen into being able to relax. Only worry about himself and no one else. Well...that wasn't entirely true.

He had become a little secluded since he had come here. So used to having people around, he did chat amicably with his neighbors and especially the staff of the inn, but his little room seemed so empty without a blue head or brown haired miss. But he persevered, even when lonely. He knew the truth, he knew that he had done the right thing. Feeling lonely? Just get a goldfish! That was precisely what he had done! The hologram-form of a young human male smiled at the fish tank as he sprinkled some fish food into it. "Time for breakfast, Goldy!" Goldy swam up out of her own little aquarium castle and began to catch the flakes in her mouth, seeming content. He smiled widely before leaving her to attend to some just cleaned plates. Plates that belonged to the inn's restaurant area rather than himself. Though he had joined the other residents of the inn a few times for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, he had always had to fake it or say he didn't have much of an appetite. Unless he wanted to explain why 'Mitchell' was spooning food onto the top of his head. Otherwise, such as for today's lunch, he had carried his food back to his room and eaten it there, cleaning the plates afterwards.

"I'll be back in a bit, Goldy!" She didn't do much in return, simply snatching up a few more flakes, but 'Mitchell' still left the room with a smile on his face. With the plates in his hands, he walked to the elevator and pressed the button to go to the first floor. He had been wondering if perhaps, now that some time had passed, he might try to reconnect with some old friends. That would be pretty complicated though, since he had been thought dead for a year. More than that, Megamind had been a very popular fellow, as was evident from the many guests at his wedding. He had quite a few friends. If he wasn't careful about who he reconnected with...they may go right to Megamind and tell him where he was. He'd be right back where he had started, where he no longer wanted to be. Stuck in a loop. No sirree, if he wanted to reconnect with people he had to be smart.

    DING

The elevator pinged to let him know that it had come to his floor and Minion stepped off the elevator once the doors had opened. Walking out, his hologram form looked as it usually did. Warm, bright brown eyes. Slightly messy black hair. Slightly top heavy with broad shoulders. Today, he 'wore' a green hoodie with a dark green scarf and denim jeans, getting ready for winter time. Before he headed to the restaurant area though, Mitchell made a stop at the lobby desk to say hi and chat to whichever Link or one of their friends would be there.

Strictly speaking, they should probably do this somewhere else, like the kitchen, their own rooms or maybe even in the confines their office. Even one of the function rooms upstairs with its many collapsible tables would be good. But in hopes of getting other people in the inn more into the Halloween spirit, they had chose to do it in the lobby where anybody who came in or out of the building could see them elbow deep in work.

What were they doing? Why, pumpkin carving of course!

There they were at the newspaper covered circular table in the lobby with some giant metal bowls to dump the pulp into and each armed with a pumpkin of pretty good size. The innkeeper looked up when he heard the approaching footsteps of a tenant. Oh! Mitchell!

“Aa!” he greeted, waving at him with his spoon and each of his accompanying fairies bobbed a greeting - Leaf a bit slower because he was distracted by the television which was on at low volume in the lounge area. Link raised an eyebrow at the plates in Mitchell’s hands and laughed. True to his words when he first came to the inn, the man had yet to return any crockery he brought to his room uncleaned. If there was one way onto Rosa, the head waitress’ good books, it was clean plates and in turn, a way to the Hyrulean group’s good books was a happy Rosa.

Link gestured for a fairy then pointed at Mitchell’s plates, smacked his lips twice then held up a thumbs up.

“Did you have a nice lunch, Mitchell?” Neri translated.

When Mitchell turned the corner into the lobby, the last thing he had expected to see were tables lined with newspapers and pumpkins set on the top, their 'guts' being dug out by Link and his fairy friends. He started for a moment before grinning and letting out a small chuckle. "Is it that time already?" He'd completely forgotten about Halloween! He smiled wistfully, remembering one Halloween where he had painted the front of his tank to resemble a Jack O'Lantern. Triangular eyes and nose, and a wide, toothy grin. Megamind had always loved Halloween when he was a child, though living in a prison he couldn't do much for trick or treating. Still, the prisoners each somehow managed to get candy, and Megamind would walk from cell to cell, smiling and chanting 'Trick or treat!'. Even as an adult he really enjoyed the holiday, and they always shared their candy loot, some of which had been stolen since they were villains at the time. Those were fun times...

Not the time, Minion. Not the time.

He shook his head slightly before waving back at Link, walking over with the plates still in hand. He quirked a brow questioningly at Link before one of the fairies translated. "Oh! Yes, I had a very good lunch. Pulled pork sandwich with some macaroni and cheese. Give my compliments to the chef!" He winked before looking back at their pumpkins. "They're looking really good so far! Bet they'll make for some really scary faces. Are you going to go trick or treating too?" He ought to make a run to the store before it was too late and get some candy bars. A child without candy on Halloween was terrible! ...Unless they were diabetic, but there was such a thing as sugar free candy!

Had it really been almost a year since Mitchell had come to stay at the Stock Pot Inn? Honestly, even though he was the Hero of Time, sometimes that very dimension eluded Link, at least with regards to its passage. He could hardly believe that he himself had nearly been on the Breach for three years, much less that the older Link was mere days from his own arrival anniversary. Then Impa had been here for a couple of months shy of three years… Zelda had been here just over two… and Tetra had arrived just a couple of months ago! Sometimes a lot of it ran together, but regardless as to just how the flow of time worked, he found that he could hardly believe just how quickly some of the time passed here.

That also extended to Halloween… that fun holiday was less than a week away now!

Around his and Link's collective plotting for their costumes this year, the two boys had agreed to carve their pumpkins today, along with Zelda and Tetra once they were set. Around an errand of their own, the disguised princess appeared to have still been a bit busy out and about with her descendant trying to find just the right pumpkins to carve into Jack-o'lanterns. Hopefully, the two of them would be back at the inn soon, but in the meantime, he could head on down to the lobby to meet up with Link.

And from the look of things, it wasn't just Link he and Tatl were set to run into! Mitchell was there as well!

"Hey Mitchell!" Link greeted as he walked up to the table, moving to set his own sizable pumpkin down on top of it. Having caught the last statement from their friend, he exchanged a grin with Link before noting, "We probably will… one of our best friends is newer to the Breach, and we want her to have a fun Halloween complete with costumes, candy, and all of the fun stuff we enjoy." As he got set to take a seat next to the older boy, he asked, "How about you? Are you doing anything for Halloween?"

Yes, it was that time already. Even Link had to grin at that and nod. It didn't feel like Halloween was that long ago and now it's here again.

The innkeeper licked his lips at the thought of a pulled pork sandwich. Oh yes, he had that as well - in fact, he was so hungry he had TWO of them. The kitchen staff had really outdone it this time and Link nodded again. He would be sure to let the team know there was more than one very, very satisfied luncher today with their menu of choice.

Link grinned proudly as he turned his pumpkin around for Mitchell to take a better look at the design. It was just a standard Jack O'Lantern face since he figured a more traditional design was a must to display on the reception desk. He did have plans to maybe make another one later with a different and more personalised design because... well pumpkin carving! Halloween! It was like Christmas except in of presents, you get candy!

As the younger Link joined them, Link waved and the fairies nudged their smaller pumpkins further along the table to make room for the boy's one. Neri quickly set about pushing over a spoon, Ciela turned the bowl of pumpkin flesh around until it was in place by the Hero of Time and Leaf smugly turned his pumpkin around, ready to be complimented even though he haven't started on carving out the design yet - hey, he worked very hard scrape it so clean.

At Mitchell's question, Link nodded then blinked, realising that Tetra had yet to meet their friend! Well, that's something that must be rectified quickly! Now where was that cloth he had to wipe his hands with so that he could write on his digiglass...

"Yes, she's a friend from Link's world," Neri chimed. "We never had Halloween in our worlds so this would be all new to her. Did you have Halloween in your world, Mr. Finley? Even though we've been here long enough to have at least one Halloween, we'd appreciate if you had any tips you can share with us."

Link turned the pumpkin around so he could see the face, he leaned down and inspected it with a hand to his chin. Two eyes, a nose, and a toothy mouth. "Looks like a great Jack-O-Lantern, Link! Love the spoooky face~!" He briefly imitated the face and chuckled. Aha, it looked like Link wasn't alone in his pumpkin carving! Here came the other Link, hefting his own pumpkin over to the table. "Hello Link!" He gave him a wave and a smile. Ah, figured as much that they'd go trick or treating! He hadn't seen very many children around Portal Breach, but that just meant they had less competition for trick or treating! "Oh, you guys didn't have Halloween?" Made sense since they weren't exactly 'human', but it was still a rather sad fact. Halloween was one of the highlights of childhood! "Well, at least you and your friend can have Halloween here, right?" And the same for other Earthen holidays, like Christmas!

"I didn't even realize it was Halloween season til now, so I don't have much planned...I'll probably work up a costume and buy some treats to hand out!" Some aspects of Halloween were more for children than adults, though there was always a Halloween party! Though he had not heard about anyone having such a party. He looked to Link's fairy as she asked him a few questions. "Oh yes! I grew up on Earth and we definitely had Halloween there. It was always one of my top favorite holidays." He smiled warmly at the memories. And as for some tips... "Bring multiple bags for candy. We used to do a trick where we kept our bag looking half full or almost empty so the people handing out candy would give us more." He snickered slightly, at the less than heroic 'trick'. "Or you can fill them up in different bags so you can carry a few bags of some candy instead of a big, full bag that's really heavy. Make sure you don't wear soft shoes! They make walking on gravel pretty painful, and if you walk in the grass you'll pick up little prickly things. Those things hurt."

Link returned his older nametwin's wave before nodding his thanks to the three fairies as he took his seat at the table. Situated next to his best friend now, the younger boy simply chuckled at Leaf's silent action as he got set to work on his own pumpkin. He grabbed the small carving knife as he blinked at Mitchell's question, right before smiling to Neri as she jumped in to better explain how the Hyruleans were looking to make Halloween extra special this year. They had each enjoyed it as they arrived, and it only seemed to get better each year… with Tetra having just arrived too, it was bound to be the best one yet!

Starting to carve a circle at the top of his pumpkin so he could access the inside of it, Link made quick work of that before he been to cut and scoop the pumpkin innards out and into the bowl in front of him. At his Mitchell's verifying question, Link glanced to him and shook his head, noting, "No, we didn't. We had some festivals in the fall, but nothing quite like this." He then moved to nod at the next statement, smiling as he thought about the fun they were set to have. "That's right! She's starting to get pretty excited, especially since Link, Sheik, Impa, and I already enjoy it a lot."

As Mitchell voiced his idea of getting a costume set, Tatl said, "I'm sure you can work something out. The costumes are almost always interesting here." Now wasn't that the truth… most of them were good ones, at least… although some of the ones she saw paraded around made her roll her glow. At least her friends were the more creative sort… and this year was looking to be especially so…

Link couldn't help but broaden his smile as Mitchell explained that not only did his world had Halloween, but that it was one of his favorite holidays! Halloween was from Earth, so hearing this was especially encouraging! He nodded at the tip of the numerous bags before laughing a little himself at the mentioned trick. Even with Hyrulean storage space, multiple bags were definitely a good idea. As for shoes, the boys themselves were already used to sturdy footwear, but for the costumes they had this year… the shoes weren't boots, but at least they were sturdy!

"Those are both really good ideas… thanks! Our shoes are comfy and durable, so they should be good... and we'll be sure to be set for bags!"

After a bit of fumbling around the table, Link managed to find the scrap of cloth he had left to wipe his hands with and with a quick clean, he was ready to join in the conversation proper with his digiglass. "No, we didn't have Halloween. Like Link, we have the some festivals and feasts. For some, we do dress up a little nicer or fancier but nothing like this."

He too nodded and laughed at Mitchell's next line. "We already enjoy Halloween enough as is but this year's might be even more exciting because our friend's arrival. We plan to introduce her to all the holidays here." There was Halloween then Christmas, New Year was one they traditionally celebrated back in their own worlds anyway, Valentine's...

"It'll a very busy and fun year for sure," commented Neri, almost sighing in contentment at the prospect of a nice happy holiday ahead with hopefully no dramatic events.

As their tenant came to his own plans for Halloween, Link's eyes brightened at the prospect of seeing another costume. "You're dressing up as well? Have you any ideas as to what you will be?"

"Something cool and epic and big and scary!" suggested Leaf whilst Link and his other fairies nodded at each of piece of advice Mitchell gave on trick or treating. Multiple bags, they haven't thought of that. They had only one bag each last year but with multiple bags and the prospect of more candy... it looked like they might have to book appointments to the dentist in the near future if they ate that much candy (and they will....or at least this Link will).

On Link's note regarding their own shoes for the occasion, Link grinned as he thought of their costumes hidden in their own bedrooms and almost complete. They just need one or two more things and then they would be all set for an epic night of candy obtaining.

"We'd have to be sure to let the others know about the bags as well."

The younger Link began to carve into his pumpkin, Mitchell watching casually. The initial cutting of the pumpkin was always the hardest part, getting out all of those goopy seeds. It was a good thing they already set down the newspapers! "I figured as much." Though it made sense. Halloween was an Earth holiday, a human one. The Hyruleans and many others on Portal Breach did not come from Earth, even Minion himself did not originally come from there. Though he did grow up there. "The festivals and feasts sound like they were nice. Sometimes we'd have fall festivals on Earth too, though they were usually full of fatty foods and second hand amusement park rides. What were your festivals like?" Something told him they were a lot fancier, or refined, especially if they had to get dressed up.

Link affirmed that their friend was already excited, Mitchell smiling in return. "I'm sure what you have planned is going to make her very happy." As well as having more to look forward to! "That sounds like a positively enjoyable experience." He commented brightly to the older Link. It was always fun to see someone's first reactions to little holiday surprises. As for his costume, the younger Link's fairy seemed confident that he could think up some sort of costume. "Oh yes, I'm sure I'll be able to figure out a way!" Especially with his talent he already had for costumes. As for some ideas...he blanked a little on an idea. The energetic fairy's suggestions were leading up to a brainstorming...

"Maybe a...gorilla?" He chuckled slightly to himself. "Oh maybe a zombie football player. Though the Wolfman might be a good idea too." There were certainly a lot of possibilities! "I don't have any ideas set in stone though..." He'd figure it out later. Maybe a visit to the mall to get some fabric could give him some ideas! In the meantime, his own advice seemed to be taken to heart. The boys and their fairies quite liked his suggestions and thanked him for it. "You're welcome, glad to help!"

Link nodded as his older nametwin added onto his own answer about holidays and festivals, soon letting out a chuckle at the mention of dressing up a little more. Granted, he had learned about that for Hyrule sometime after he had left the Kokiri Forest, but having grown up there… everyone really tended to wear the same style of outfit year round. Even their own festivals didn't have them dressing up much, but so long as they enjoyed them, that was what mattered.

The younger boy's blue eyes lit up a bit when Mitchell explained that they had fall festivals on Earth, and he grinned a bit in amusement at the description of what they typically consisted off. He exchanged a glance with the older Link at their friend's question, right before he turned back towards him, stating, "They were all really fun… some were just simple gatherings in common places, like the market in Hyrule Castle Town, others had more events and decorations around that… all of them usually had really tasty food, though. Some were seasonal festivals, some were more for a certain town or culture there, but there were some that were even bigger celebrations, like the anniversary of the unification of our kingdom."

He knew from stories with the Hero of Winds that some festivals were different in the Great Sea than they were in Hyrule, but the general feel of them seemed to be much the same. Even the same could be said of his own time… the simple celebrations in the Kokiri Forest were similar to those he'd learned about in Hyrule Castle Town, Kakariko Village, Goron City, Zora's Domain, and even Gerudo Valley, but at the heart of it all, what mattered was that people enjoyed them.

"Halloween will be Tetra's first major holiday here," noted Link as the older boy explained that they were planning on introducing the pirate captain to all the holidays on the Breach. "I think she arrived just in time for a great one!" And come to think of it… two years ago, Zelda had arrived just before Halloween as well…

It sounded like Mitchell already had a few good ideas for costumes, and with a nod and grin to him, Link said, "Those all sound like great costumes. I can't wait to see whatever you come up with!"

As Mitchell noted how he was glad to help though, a new thought popped into the Hero of Time's mind, and with a quick glance to Link and Tatl, he turned back to the man. "Would you like to carve a pumpkin too, Mitchell?" asked Link, motioning to his own Jack-o'-lantern in progress. "We picked up some extra pumpkins for the inn itself, so I could go back into the office and get you one if you'd like."

The two boys as well as Tetra, Sheik, and Impa were more than capable of carving their own pumpkins, but if Mitchell wanted to help, he was more than welcome to enjoy another tradition from the holiday he seemed to be so fond of.

Mitchell’s world had fall festivals too? With the man’s world being so similar to this one, Link wondered whether any of those fall festivals were celebrated here too. He couldn’t think of any off the top of his head save Halloween. The innkeeper chuckled at the mention of fatty foods. Most festivals and holidays have some sort of food associated with them and it was exactly this aspect of them which attracted Link so much. All the delicious food - fatty or not!

As the younger boy answered, Link took his time composing his own reply to Mitchells question. With practiced timing, just as the other boy finished his answer, Link turned his answer around. “I lived on an island and don’t have a lot of people on it so our festivals aren’t very big - it’s more like a small party or dinner. They usually revolve around season changes. My friends from another island have an interesting one at the end of which, they all go their separate ways to different islands to plant seeds in hopes of growing new forests.”

Link remembered the first time he was at that celebration and how incredible the sight was when his friends, the Koroks, took flight at the end of the song. Rather than feeling sad that it was over, it gave a feeling of new hope for the year to come.

Halloween was indeed Tetra’s first major holiday here. this made them looking forward to it even more. He could only hope that, with how excited they had been, they wouldn’t disappoint.

"I think you’ll make an awesome gorilla!” agreed Leaf as he pictured a hairy suit on the their friend. He then eyed Mitchell up and down as if evaluating his skills just by appearance. "But wouldn’t making a suit like that need a lot of work? Maybe a zombie player would be easier - less sewing?”

For all he knew though, Mitchell might actually be very good at sewing and making a gorilla suit was as easy as fishing was for Link.

“Yes, do join us, there’s plenty of room,” chirped Neri and Link beamed before moving his own pumpkin over to make room for a new one to join the table if Mitchell would like.

Fun fall festivals were fantastic! The ones on Earth could vary from cheaply outsourced and not even caring about what was being done, to being absolutely memorable and splendid. The home world of the Links had varying festivals as well, from a simple gathering to an elaborately decorated affair. "Tasty food is always a must, it seems! On Earth we'd serve caramel apples, funnel cakes, give out some candy and probably some hot dogs and hamburgers if they spent good money on it..." He never really partook in it, being a fish his size he couldn't eat nearly as much as a human or Megamind, but he did enjoy trying to replicate the treats and foods. "What foods were served in your festivals?" Some of the festivals were also more than just a festival. Some towns had specific celebrations and they even celebrated the anniversary of their kingdom becoming united! "Oooh!" He made an impressed sound, grinning wider. "Who were you united with, if I may ask?"

The other Link 'spoke' and talked about the festivals of his world, which had Minion briefly curious about the two. He knew they were both named Link and they were from the same world, separated only by time, but it was still interesting that they didn't have the same upbringing. Though since they were from different times that of course made sense. Still, he listened attentively as Link wrote about what festivals were like on his island. They were usually smaller and associated with seasonal changes. Being on an island they had their own activities that were all their own, such as the seed planting that was done on another island! "I like that activity, that sounds very...green! The only time we ever really focused on planting seeds as a holiday on Earth was during Earth Day. Its something that should be done more, though here it doesn't seem to need doing as much."

He nodded in agreement that their friend Tetra had come in time to have a really great holiday, one that started a chain of equally good holidays. It was always nice how they happened in a row like that. The Links liked his costume ideas, though one fairy brought up a good point. "It might be better to buy a gorilla suit then in that case. A zombie player might be a good one...less sewing, just need a lot of make up!" Though technically all he would have to do is tweak the holographic watch to make a version of 'Mitchell Finley' with a costume on. The Links and fairies invited him to make a pumpkin too, and he considered it.

"You know what? I think I will! I'll drop these plates off in the kitchen real quick, you get the pumpkin, and we'll meet back here!" You can't have Halloween without a Jack-O-Lantern after all. Giving the boys a smile, he soon walked to the Inn's restaurant to drop off his plates.

As Mitchell moved to describe some of the tasty food they they got to enjoy at festivals on Earth, Link found his mouth starting to water. Wow… it sounded like good food was a festival staple no matter what world someone was from! At the question regarding food back in Hyrule, Link thought for a moment before noting, "All sorts of food, really. There were really delicious bites of steak on sticks, sausages, candied fruits, battered and fried confections that could be savory or sweet… roasted nuts, all kinds of baked bread… really just a whole bunch of great food at stands!"

After the Hero of Winds had a chance to write his own answer regarding different sorts of food, the Hero of Time met Mitchell's grin with one of his own, stating, "The whole kingdom of Hyrule was united, actually. There are different areas of Hyrule each ruled by a different people, but the King of Hyrule unified them all into one country. You can kind of think of it as a country with different lands within it… each different in their own way, but still united as one."

Link smiled at catching his older nametwin's own response regarding the festivals he had growing up, his eyes brightening a touch as he caught the reference to the Koroks. It was still so surreal to him to think that in one future, the Kokiri would adapt and change their form so drastically… it was one thing to know that the Zora evolved into Rito, but he possibly found Koroks even more incredible since he himself had been raised as a Kokiri. Even better, Mitchell liked the sounds of their festival too!

Chuckling a bit as Mitchell mused about which costume idea he might go with, Link still found his own excitement growing for whatever he might come up with costume-wise. That chuckle soon turned into a bright grin when the man decided that he would take them up on their invitation to join them in pumpkin carving, and with a quick nod, he exclaimed, "All right!" At that, the Hero of Time moved to set his pumpkin aside for the moment, right before hopping up and jogging the short distance to the office. Once he was at the door, the younger boy looked over the remaining pumpkins, and in one smooth motion, he'd picked up a perfectly round one before carrying it to the free spot on the table. Retaking his seat and giving the older boy a thumbs up, Link resumed his own task, thinking to himself that they were definitely set now.

Caramel apples! Link’s eyes widened at that one. Having arrived to Portal Breach in the season of Fall, the apples were one of the first treats he had seen, eyeballed for a good week before finally succombing to the temptation, bought and took a good hearty bite out of. The sweet coating matched with the crisp and tartness of the apple was so good he had the apples for dessert for the three days following! Funnel cakes, he wasn’t very familiar with but he did have it once (he think) at the amusement park. The rest, candy, hot dogs and hamburgers, were already firm favourites in the Hyrulean’s ever growing list of delicious foods.

“We tend to have lots of meat and soup in our celebrations. If it’s not too cold, we’ll built a fire at the beach and cook all our food on it - even roasting fruits on it.” Toasted apples, mmmm~

The subject changed to the Hyrule of old and Link sat back and happily listened to his nametwin explain what he had by now heard many times already. Each time he heard it, it still made his mind wander to what such a kingdom looked like. He caught a brief and severely limited glimpse of what was preserved of it under the very seas of his world and even then it was breathtaking. For him at that point in time who lived in world where land was dots of islands, such large areas of greenery as a thing straight out of legends and stories.

Link tilted his head at the sound of Earth Day. That did sound like the Korok’s ceremony indeed. To think that they had such a holiday in common with Earth! He guessed no matter where you are, growing trees will always be important. Nonetheless, the innkeeper was glad Mitchell liked the sound of the holiday especially with how different their worlds were.

Leaf, the red fairy fluffed up proudly that Mitchell agreed with his thoughts on less sewing. See, he did use his brain once in a while and when he does, he does come up with ideas that aren’t bad! Ha!

“Ah!” answered Link happily as their friend took their invite to join them in the pumpkin carving. Link immediately shuffled his chair over and Neri and Ciela spread out fresh newspaper on the new spot opened up at the table, just in time for the younger Link to place the pumpkin on.

Mitchell was not the only one who was in a good mood today. With Halloween getting closer and closer each day, a certain disguised princess found that her own mood had been a good one and only getting better as her excitement for the holiday mounted. She had previously experienced two Halloweens here on the Breach, but even with as exciting as those were, she was looking even more forward to this year than she had the past two. One reason for that was because she herself was even more accustomed to the holiday now. Secondly, she was ecstatic to be able to share this special day with her descendant and newest best friend, Tetra. And last but certainly not least, both of the disguised princesses were planning on surprising Link and Link with their costumes.

And to help add to that Halloween spirit? Today was the day that the Hylian kids were set to carve their pumpkins!

Sheik knew that Link and Link were set to get started first, especially since she herself had to take care of a couple of security duties, right before she and Tetra took care of a couple of simple decorations in the lounge areas of each floor. Their tasks completed, the two girls were just heading downstairs, each of them with their own pumpkins in tow.

"I know that carving a pumpkin might seem a little strange, but I promise it really is fun. It's even better since you get to come up with your own design and bring it to life," noted Sheik as she and Tetra moved from the second floor landing down to the final set of stairs. The concept had been intriguing if not a little curious the first time she herself had heard of it, as admittedly, the fabled Pumpkin Pull sounded like something even more interesting to her, but she had decided to give it a go nonetheless. From that point on, she was definitely set to help carve pumpkins and see what creative images she could display on the oversized squash, and hopefully, her descendant would enjoy it just as much.

Moments later, Sheik and Tetra had arrived in the lobby, just in time to spot Link, Link, and all of the fairies at the circular table. "Hey guys!" Sheik called, grinning to both of her friends as she moved to set her pumpkin on some spare newspaper and take an empty seat. As she moved to remove the bandages and gloves from her hands so as not to dirty them with her upcoming task, she asked, "How's the carving going so far?"
