Each time that captain turned and look a different person, Link and his fairies grew even more tense and if the Waker of the Winds can suck in and hold his breath more than one at a time, he would done so with a each turn of Tetra's eyes. As her eyes turned into a glare at Sheik, Link glanced at the disguised princess of the past and almost moved to step in between Tetra and Sheik had the fear of any movement from his part might trigger the pirate to snap out of her feet frozen state and prompt her into action. In the end, it was Neri who drifted herself to the corner of Tetra's glare and she shook her glow. It wasn't Sheik's fault. Whilst they understood her suspicion, it was misdirected in this case since nobody was at fault here....except maybe Portal X but he wasn't exactly here] and he saved them so... yeah.

When Tetra switched her scrutiny to Link, he was both relieved that his friends were not being misunderstood and also even more tense. Admittedly, it hurts to see suspicion in Tetra's gaze being directed to himself. He haven't seen anybody from the Great Sea in two years and this was one of the first expression he had to take? It stung and it made him doubt himself. He had been here for a while but he was still the same boy, right? He haven't changed that much, did he? Link knew it was rather stupid to compare himself with... himself... but the doubts still remained. If he doubted himself then would Tetra? Link wondered if anything like this happened between the younger Link and Sheik when they first reunited.

Then Tetra's gaze slid back to Sheik and Link almost wanted to reach out, grab her head and turn her attention back onto himself but she wasn't glaring anymore and in noticing that, he relaxed a bit. The stress and nervousness left him even more when Tetra, after so many agonizing long moments of silence, crossed her arms and demanded an explanation. Good, she wasn't running away!

As the younger Link suggested for the innkeeper to start, the Hero of Winds nodded, carefully reached over and took hold of Tetra's arm before he guided her to the seating area of the lo... Link stopped, looked around the lobby and reception area. What was he going to tell her? Was this really the place to tell Tetra that the Great Sea was destroyed? But would the pirate captain let her guard down enough for Link to take her to another place to slowly tell her all the details?

Link sucked in a deep breath, turned and wrote a message on his digiglass. "It's a long story and you missed a lot. We can sit somewhere and I'll tell you?" he suggested, nervously glancing at Sheik and Link to check if this was a good way to proceed and also if they would mind. Despite knowing Tetra the best out of all of them, he honestly cannot say right now if he was making the right decision here.

Sheik flinched almost imperceptibly at catching the sudden glare from Tetra, and she inwardly feared that the older girl was starting to incorrectly think that she had done something to her to land her in this confusing situation. Whilst she did still feel it was best for Tetra to be able to process much of the new information in a short span of time instead of in punctuated bursts, she did hope that the new surprises of not only seeing the older Link but also the three spirits and the younger Link would not keep her off-guard for too long. None of the three kids could have predicted how the pirate captain might have reacted to the first of the inevitable surprises, but with as tense as the atmosphere had become, at the very least she was not running off.

The disguised princess felt a little guilty for leading Tetra right into the inn only to have her met with such unexpected discoveries, but at the same time, she knew that she had had to guide her in such a way so as to allay as much suspicion as possible. After all, given what she knew about the older girl already, if she had mentioned to her that Link was already here, that would have only been met with scoffing and prompt marching in the opposite direction. It had been important for her to learn that yes, they technically were from the same world regardless of the differing points in time, but most everything had to be saved for once she was here and in a better position.

It was not going to be an easy situation no matter how it unfolded… but hopefully, the course it had landed in would prove to be the best one.

Sheik caught Neri's sudden shake of her glow, and although she did not dare avert her eyes from Tetra's gaze, she was very grateful for the effort on the part of the Spirit of Wisdom. Once the older girl shifted her focus to Link, the disguised princess let out a slight breath, inwardly hoping that she would be able to see that time differences aside, he was in fact her Link. Being able to switch her attention to the Hero of Winds seemed to be just the thing to help better anchor her down here, and Sheik was glad that her friend had been quick to step forward.

Once Tetra turned her sights back to Sheik, the disguised princess was able to tell that her suspicion was slowly being suppressed by trust and curiosity. They were still going to have to phrase things carefully, but at the very least, the older girl wanted to take the time to listen to whatever explanations they had. The disguised princess' brow creased slightly in sympathy at the younger Link's statement, as although it was a very good suggestion on his part, this was not going to be easy for any of them.

Watching as the older Link took Tetra's arm and seemed to start to be thinking on just where to begin, Sheik waited a few moments before catching the older girl's eyes again, taking a deep breath before stating, "I was not lying when I said you were transported to a new world… everything I said regarding your arrival was true and each of us was brought here the same way you were, only some time before you. For the rest of that story though… I felt it would be best for you to hear it from someone you already knew."

As Link moved to write his message on the digiglass, Sheik soon caught his nervous glance. Cocking a sympathetic eyebrow and giving him a soft, reassuring smile the disguised princess noted, "It is a long story… but Link will be able to bring you up to date on it. I know it might sound strange to have missed a lot, but he is telling the truth… please listen to him." Pausing for just a moment to shift her gaze back to Link from Tetra, she nodded to the older boy, adding, "Sitting down somewhere is a good idea… and we will be waiting for you once you're finished. I promise."

Tetra's glare echoed the taller Link's words: maybe Link should start indeed and she made it perfectly clear her friend from the Great Sea was walking across some very thin ice here. The captain blinked but otherwise did not resist when Link reached over and took hold of her arm. As he began tugging her, she quirked up an eyebrow. What? They're not going to talk here? Was it something that can't be shared in public? Come on, she couldn't have missed that much!

Then a glance at the other Link and Sheik made Tetra sighed. She followed her friend as he led her through pass the reception desk. Right, maybe it wasn't the amount she missed but the quality of the the things she missed? She could only hope that was the case because anything otherwise and she knew her temper wouldn't be in check for long. She's already been stuck in an underground chamber and cursed as a statue in her life already, this pirate would rather not learn that she had supposedly missed another chunk of her life. Time was rupees, people!

As if reading her mind, Link wrote her a new message and it was then that she realised that hey, he wasn't using the slate he got from the World of the Ocean King. This one was....glassy.

"Missed a lot?" Urrrrgh, goddesses! Why do you do this to her? This can't be happening. Really, she literally just woke up from a Big Octo encounter. She could NOT had dangled from the tree branch for that long a time. It was a public park! Surely somebody must had spotted her before now and woke her up.

Thankfully, Sheik's words brought some ounces of hope! Link, the Link lookalike, Sheik and the fairies were brought here some time before she arrived. SO... they time travelled BACK which explained why Link was already here and already buddies with people she had never met. Tetra had no idea why they would travel back in time but she figured they probably had as much control over it as she did arriving here. If that was so, then she did not miss out in anything, didn't lose what could be weeks, months or Nayru forbid a year of life because she was too busy sleeping in a tree.

She nodded at the bandaged boy and then after a bit of hesitating, at the boy who looked strikingly like Link. "I'll be back then."

And her attention focused back on her own Link. She shook the arm he was holding, her mood lightened significantly now. "Right, lead the way and if I don't like something you say, I'm going to have you swab the deck for weeks."

Link was a little relieved that Tetra seemed to agree with his sentiment instead of jumping to demand that he explain right then and there. He did feel a little bad for the pirate captain when she seemed a bit confused at Link's taking of her arm and gentle tug for her to follow him, and his slightly sympathetic expression took on a hint of sheepishness at catching her sigh. It really wasn't that she had missed a lot in her world because honestly, she hadn't… she had only missed what had transpired here on the Breach in between their past arrivals and her own now.

Thankfully, that meant that she had not lost any of her own time… Link had already experienced that once during his original quest, so he knew how disconcerting that could be to learn at first. But even if that had been the case, the same as he had pressed forward back in Hyrule, he knew that Tetra would be able to do just the same here. He had not been able to help his own case back then… everyone knew that, but he had made the most of it then, and he was just as sure that he had done that even more in the alternate version of his timeline that led to the Great Sea. Just as he had got his time back though, Tetra had not lost hers… and now, whilst that point in time was gone for her, she had a chance to continue on here.

Tetra was less than thrilled to learn that she had missed a lot, but Sheik was quick to explain most of that worry away. The older girl seemed slightly hopeful at that, and Link felt that that would prove to be a good lead-in for the Hero of Winds upcoming explanation.

Once she had pondered the disguised princess' statement, Tetra nodded to Sheik before pausing and giving Link a nod as well. He smiled almost imperceptibly to her, before returning her nod, noting, "All right."

That subtle smile grew a bit as Tetra told the older Link just what she would do if she did not like what he wound up telling her, and that left this Link hoping that his nametwin really would be okay. He fully trusted him here… after all, he was the one that had first told him about his own arrival here and what had led up to it. The news had not been easy to take, but… with the knowledge of different timelines, their own presence here, and Link's bond with Tetra, he had a strong feeling that everything would be all right. Even if it took her some time, he knew deep down she would be just fine… after all, she was a Zelda.

As Link led Tetra upstairs, Tatl waited for them to get just out of earshot before she chimed, thinking to herself that that really hadn't been too bad. After all, Tetra was already taking this a little better than she herself had back when she and Link had first arrived…. whether that would continue hold true was yet to be seen, though. Link had gotten better with his explanations over the past few years… and he would need all the luck he could get here. Hopefully… things would go smoothly for both of them.

Tetra actually following him, whether she was in a daze, confused or just because she had no choice or not, made him happy. With her backing away earlier, he was worried that she would flinch and snap her arm away from him when he touched it. The fact that he was not only touching it but holding it and guiding her away from the door spoke volumes for Link and he could not help but let his face return to the immensely happy grin he wore earlier when he was hugging her.

For Tetra to take the part Sheik said about being in another world so well was another relief even if he suspected that it wouldn't faze the captain too much to begin with considering their past experiences. He sent Sheik a grateful nod. Her starting the explanation for him meant there was one less thing for him to cover in what would be a very lengthy talk. There were still lots more to tell Tetra and, apart from their shared feelings regarding it being better for Tetra to hear (or in this case read) it from somebody she knew, Link was happy and honoured that he got to be the one to tell her. He also knew this could potentially get ugly and he would hate for Sheik and Link to have to see that; even if his best friends would understand, he wanted to avoid as much negativity as possible on their first meeting.

As Tetra shook off his hold on his arm, Link grew concerned but her expression had relaxed a bit more and her next words made him laugh... and sad. There aren't any decks to swab but how was he going to tell her that? Link sucked in a breath, smiled and waved at Sheik and Link at the desk before he turned and walked up the stairs with Tetra in tow.
