A Sleepover? Is That What Normal People Do?

Ah yes, a lovely evening in the rolling fields of green. A gentle breeze tussled the long grasses, stirring the insects that had started to return from the frost and send them buzzing into the air. Above them a few thin clouds passed calmly by, fluffy and white, while a few small birds fluttered and chirped beneath them. In the distance some cattle was left out to pasture, grazing peacefully as they passed from hill to hill. At the far edge of the heartlands sat the dark forests, their long boughs swaying and sighing in the wind. Deeper within the cries of native animals echoed through the depths, soon followed by the snapping of wooden limbs and the crush of undergrowth. It grew louder and closer, until finally a flash of color and fur leaped forth with a flurry of loose leaves following in its after wind. Long feet thudded on the flat ground, with equally long ears folded flat against its fluffy back. A rabbit, sprinting away from an unseen pursuer.

    Fwsshhh!

At least until now. A larger form, covered in dull, thick fur chased closely on the rabbit's tail. It darted this way and that, gleaming gold eyes fastened determinedly on their prey. A long snout portruded from its face, snarling to reveal curved fangs that gleamed with the maw's wetness. The creature's maw came closer and closer until the rabbit could feel the drool of its pursuer dripping upon their back. The small furred creature darted once more, before there was a short, final scream.... And then silence. Shortly after, the bloodied snout of the pursuing animal lifted from the grass, its flat tongue slipping out to lick over its nose. Satiated for the moment, the animal prowled through the grass. However, it did not stay furred and lithe for long, as its back began to spasm and arch painfully. Its fur burned away into quickly dissipating smoke, and its body grew larger and brighter, taking on a deep shade of crimson. Smoke continued to curl from the walking creature until no longer stood a predator of the forest, but a burning, horned demon. His six eyes looked ahead calmly, their fiery pupils looking over the landscape. In the wake of his evening walk, molten earth and charred grass trailed like ugly stains on the usually tranquil environment.

    Clink! Clack! Clack!

Along with a few large containers that hung from the blade on the demon's tail. Each was carved from dark volcanic rock, intricate designs flowing over their rectangular shapes. Though the containers were not kept only to the demon's tail, as a couple of large cylinders were also fastened to the demon's back with bands of segmented and jointed iron. Prixlezub's gait remained relaxed and even despite the heavy load, smoke pluming from his grill as he neared a familiar wall of stone. A small structure, but it served its purpose for the owner of the property that it bordered. However, the prince was careful to stay outside of the wall as he made his way around to the dirt road that passed through it. The trail of molten earth and grass that was in the demon's wake would surely mar the lawn if the prince was not careful. In fact, there was still a mark of dead grass from where the demon was not so thoughtful within the radius of the stone fence.

Prixlezub carefully kept his pace to the slender path, charring the loose earth to glass as he lumbered along. The demon stopped a long distance away from the cottage, turning off the road and onto a patch of grass that was not in direct view of anyone who came near Kev's home. Craning his neck forward, the demon gave a few short puffs of flame on the ground, charring it to glass before he walked onto it. He gave a small stretch, flexing his claws with a low permeating growl before settling on his belly. Curling his tail around, the demon began to loosen the metal binds that kept his cargo in place, moving the boxes to the side as he got to work on releasing the larger cylinders from his back.

The others would be here shortly, all the prince had to do was wait.

Twenty Minutes Ago wrote:"Let's go to a sleepover, you said... It'll be fun, you said..."
A high-pitched whir echoed across the still plains, where two bright headlights pierced through the encroaching darkness. Something was traveling down the dirt-laden path quite fast. Was it a bandit caravan or a passing group of circus clowns? Or could it be a demonic creature wishing to devour whatever lifeform it so pleased?

    ...zooooooooM!

"Pick, pick, pick! Would you like some more cheese with your whine, Jo?" Ah, no. It was just a familiar, veiled monarch currently looking dead-straight ahead while he navigated a vehicle between hills. And he wasn't alone. Hugging him closely from behind was Jo, who wasn't as enthusiastic as her purple counterpart was. Together they were riding Jo's hoverbike, but the monarch had opted to pilot it due to how dark it had become. Strapped to the transport were some travel suitcases - nothing too large but they ought to be perfect for a night away from the house. Why were they out in the plains at nightfall, one may wonder?

The Present wrote:"Yeah, yeah... Big Z, next time I get to pick our next sleepover, got it?"
A pair of red eyes rolled in their sockets behind protective goggles. "And last I recalled, Jo, you hadn't been the one to wake up at 3 A.M. in the morning to receive our lovely invitation," he calmly jabbed back. Zurg purposefully gave the hoverbike juice and did a rough jump over a small slope, hoping Jo would squeal a little.

By the time the duo had zoomed past a certain cottage for the rendezvous point, they apparently were not the first ones to drop in. The monarch slowed his speed and kept the hoverbike at a slow, idle crawl toward a bright collection of flame. "Aha..." Prixlezub stuck out like a sore thumb, he did. That's where they must go. Zurg wasted no time and was soon steering them both at a lounging carmorph demon prince. "Prixlezub, you delight in torturing me, don't you? You know I can't go back to sleep once awoken so flamboyantly," he called out to the royal pain in his butt. With a soft hum and a jolt, the hoverbike was brought to a complete standstill and a foot was put down. "Okay, Jo. We are here." Hopefully she didn't mind the ride. In the city Zurg preferred to be a safe and cautious pilot, but out here in the wide, open country? Feeling the wind rushing past one's horns was the next best sensation second to overdosing on shrimp. It especially felt great in the casual human clothing he was starting to appreciate. That said, he was mindful concerning Jo's anxiety.

"Jo, why don't you walk around and stretch? I will get our gear ready," the monarch offered. While Jo was given time to do what she chose, Zurg removed the pilot's goggles over his eyes and rested them atop his veil. He then killed the headlights and looked up to the sky, pondering something aloud. "Hmm... I wonder when Lawrence will get here..."

    Added Jo's snippets with permission.

Lawrence, meanwhile, was actually not too far behind the hoverbike, soaring along via his own flight systems. There really wasn't any need to take the shuttle this time. Still, as he flew, for the life of him he couldn't quite figure out just why he decided to go along with this 'sleepover' thing. It wasn't like he was ever invited to one, and never had the chance to assist his first owners in hosting one for their children. In fact this was highly unusual, in all the holovids he ever saw about a sleepover, it was usually something done by a group of children or teenage girls, not adults.

Well, there was nothing usual about Portal Breach, and certainly nothing usual about this little group the butler was about to be a part of. Two aliens, a human, a car demon, and a robot . . . this promised to be a very interesting night indeed, maybe that was the reason he thought coming along was a good idea.

That and he would've been back at the house with the cats and X'ki. Even though he and the mechanic had managed to humble the AI somewhat, the cranky old X'rgthu construct still wasn't exactly pleasant company.

It didn't take long for Lawrence to spot Prixlezub's particular energy signature, given that the prince saw fit to lounge about in his true form. The robot homed in on that and came in for a landing just beside the hoverbike, though as his flight systems retracted he picked up on another strong reading, originating from the volcanic rock containers the demon had with him. "Well, at least it appears I haven't missed much." He aimed a more directed scan at the containers and glanced towards their owner. "Do I even want to know what is contained in those? If I did not know better, I would almost say there was high-grade energon within them."

Now, the butler did have some high grade with him, tucked away in his subspace storage, but he might be willing to try whatever Prixlezub brought if it wouldn't damage him...

Hey, those had been some very legitimate remarks! Know why? Because Jo hadn't the foggiest idea of what was going on, that's why. Two days ago Big Z had nearly brought the entire neighborhood to their doorstep by shouting at THREE in the morning, and now she was somehow shanghaied into going on a sleepover with Prixlezub. Yeah, consider the mechanic pretty irritable. "Do you have to pilot the thing so fast?" she said from behind, holding on for dear life. "I thought you were afraid of stuff like this!" First mistake: agreeing to go on a sleepover. Second mistake: letting Big Z pilot. Don't get her wrong; he was a very safe pilot. It's just... speed! Clearly he was enjoying himself at the expense of her resolve.

But Jo could, too. It had been a while since either of them went out like this, and seeing places beyond the city was refreshing. Wind in her face and all, the mechanic peeked out from behind Big Z's back. Hmm, the grasslands... So the place to be was out here, huh? Jo couldn't see too well thanks to Big Z's shirt flapping in the wind, but she could make out Kev's cottage in the distance. Except... they weren't going to the cottage? She readjusted her helmet and decided to pester the pilot. "Hey, aren't we going to Kev's place?" she asked. "Sleepovers usually take place at someone's house, you know. Hey... Hey, Big Z. Watch out for that -- !" Le bump. Jo let out a girly shriek and clung to him like a cat fresh out of water. He did that on purpose! Gritting her teeth and clenching her eyes shut, Jo quietly whimpered and decided to count her lucky stars. "No fair, no fair! You know I don't like bumpy rides!" Don't make her taste her lunch a second time!

It was by some miracle that Jo didn't toss her cookies. It was also another miracle that Big Z hadn't gone through lightspeed and wound them both up another planet. Their destination was thankfully not another world; it just looked like a patch of grass. Nothing wrong with a patch of grass, she supposed. Aside from rocks, bugs, dirt, and stuff like that.

Big Z didn't have to tell her twice. Jo was instantly off the bike and distancing herself from it. "Great idea," she grumbled unenthusiastically. Jo removed her helmet and goggles, revealing her tangled mess of brown hair. "I'm think I'm just gonna stand perfectly still until the horizon stops spinning." Like Big Z, she was dressed for comfort. Jo had on a simple t-shirt, some pants, shoes, and a light jacket. Just the basics to survive out here for one night. The rest of their gear was on the bike -- Jo made a face and placed a hand over her stomach. Nope, Big Z can handle unpacking the gear and she'll focus on keeping her pride intact. Hey, hear that?

Jo looked up and spotted Lawrence approaching. "Good," she sighed to herself. "At least I won't be alone out here." She trusted Big Z with her life, but whenever he got involved with Prixlezub... Negative influences or not, the mechanic looked at the demon and didn't comment on him or his possessions.

She just did what Big Z had suggested; Jo walked around and decided to enjoy the fresh air.

Inside of the cottage, a certain mouthless alien was preparing a backpack full of sleepover supplies. A sleeping bag, a lantern, a wig or two for shenanigans, and last but not least, a few jars of olive juice. It had been a while since he had been a part of a sleepover, let alone one that took place outside, but Kev was eager nonetheless! It helped that April and come and gone without anything near as drastic as had happened the last two years. March had been the time of Ra Moon, but that had been squashed rather quickly, and no one had ended up dying for once! It was possible that the upcoming months could be quite terrible though, since April had been very quiet. Such was life in Portal Breach, and if that would indeed be the case, well then Kev was going to enjoy whatever time he could get.

Kev was dressed in his usual attire; pants, gloves, shirt, and cape, the warmer weather meant he didn't have to get all bundled up like before and he was grateful for it. With one last farewell to Leslie and the animals, Kev skipped out of the cottage, looking around for the others who were joining this little sleepover. His head tilted to one side, and then the next, hearing speech over somewhere. Somewhere close. Finally, he saw them and he jogged over to the grassy area, waving happily. "Jo, Zurg, Lawrence, Prixlezub~!" He looked at Prixlezub's large containers, held tilted to the side. "Well...those sure are...huge. What are they?" They looked a lot like giant pillars! He set his stuff down and walked closer to the others, arms spread wisely.

You guys know you want a hug. Come on, come over into those noodly arms!

Ah, there they were. The demon glanced back slightly as he heard the sounds of a vehicle and their rider in the distance. Given the conversation, it seemed they were traveling with a certain mechanic given the differences in their voices. Once they arrived, the demon looked over to see Zurg and Jo in more comfortable looking attire. "Greetings, Zurg. had I known you were not the type to sleep after being invited to such events, I would have sent the message much earlier." He teased lightly, revealing a row of metallic teeth in a grin. The demon noticed Jo as she looked towards him and what he brought, but so long as she was content to not bother with the demon, he was content to leave her be as well. Given her reaction to having the prince visit her shop that one fateful day, she probably was none too thrilled about having to spend an evening near his presence as well.

The sound of Lawrence's flight systems gave the robot away from afar, as the demon glanced over to see him land as well. "Greetings, Lawrence." The prince rumbled courteously. So, he was curious about the demon's carry on, eh? The prince gave a low chuckle that was fit enough to jar someone's organs, tapping a claw on one of the cylindrical containers lightly. "These? They are but some refreshments I have decided to bring along. Later on you will see what exactly they have inside." He explained. Until then, you would just have to sit back and guess. Though whether the butler would be able to ingest it... Well, that would be something he would have to figure out on his own.

Finally Kev came forward from his cottage as well, jogging over to met them all. "Greetings, Kev." The demon said pleasantly, the alien seemed quite jovial this evening. Apparently Lawrence was not the only one who was curious about what the demon brought with him. He noticed Kev tilt his head at the containers as well before asking about them. "You will see in time." The prince repeated, picking up the obsidian containers and setting them a little further behind his body. When he turned back around, the demon saw that Kev held out his arms. A hug? The demon gave a small shake of his head towards the alien.

"I do not believe you would enjoy an embrace from me." He rumbled warily. The last thing the demon needed was for Kev to cook himself on his hide, and over a hug no less. No, Prixlezub was content to sit where he was and enjoy the scenery.

Lawrence arrived soon after they had made their entrance, and Jo was off walking around and appreciating the earth. Was his piloting really that bad? Maybe the monarch was getting a little rusty... In any event, Prixlezub's voice was rolling across the hills and it was hard not to give him some attention. "Canisters, canisters..." Zurg had spotted them before while pulling up but he didn't think to inquire as to what was inside. Knowing the demon prince, all would be revealed in due time. Why expedite things? "You know me, Prixlezub," the monarch began with a rather playful tone. "When I get excited about something it is a bit difficult to wind down." Like a Corgi about to be fed. But now that he was here at the much-anticipated sleepover, Zurg wouldn't mind passing out beneath the stars.

Ah, right! He had to remove their personals from the hoverbike. It wasn't much, really. A sleeping bag, a decent-sized blanket, a small suitcase filled with sleepwear; was he forgetting anything? Oh! Zurg set everything down and walked toward the other side of the bike, where he knelt for a brief moment before rising up with a large canteen. Something sloshed noisily inside.

"Prixlezub is not the only one with surprises~!" But the mysterious container will have to wait. Kev finally showed his noodly self and already he was demanding hugs. Zurg had other ideas. "Kev! How nice to see you." The taller alien let the canteen rest with the other items and came over, but if you think he was moving in for a hug... Think again! He yanked Kev into a tight headlock and started to rub his bare knuckles on the top of that scaly skull. "Still as noodly as ever, hmm?" the monarch teased. "That's too bad. You'll never get out of this noogie." Kev, Kev, Kev... His head was now wedged between a muscular arm and a hard place. That would be the monarch's side, but you get the picture. What was a sleepover without some innocent ribbing?

Either Kev has to grow some muscle in the next ten seconds or his head was going to emit sparks thanks to the friction. Campfire, anyone?

Refreshments? Well, Lawrence would take the demon's word for it, though those ridiculously high energy readings still made him curious. He would be patient and find out along with the others. "Ah, very well. There'll be plenty of time to find out just what you've brought along later."

Lawrence hadn't brought anything but himself, and what was contained within his subspace storage, though most of that would be staying where it was. Well, not unless any of the wildlife decided to get frisky, and he doubted that would happen. Prixlezub alone would be plenty of deterrent, if not, the rest of the group would be even more. This would be a quiet night, though if he had to ensure that quiet by force, he wouldn't mind that either.

The butler wasn't that keen on a hug at the moment, but thankfully Zurg came to the rescue. True, grabbing Kev for a noogie didn't quite count as a 'rescue', per se... Lawrence kind of rolled his optics a bit at the continued noogie-ing. "Be careful, Zurg, much more of that and you might set him on fire."

Walked Right Into It wrote:"When I get excited about something it is a bit difficult to wind down."
That's what she said so HARD. Jo had to bite her tongue and hide a grin beneath one hand, turning her face away. It was probably best not to -- nah, he had it coming. "Sure about that, Big Z? You coulda fooled me~!" Yeah, you deserved it. You so totally did if you dragged her out all the way out here for a night. With Prixlezub. As for what was inside those canisters, eh. She didn't care either way and instead focused on Kev making an entrance.

"Hi!" she greeted her friend happily, eager to see him. "You didn't get roped into this too, did you?" But knowing Kev, and also Big Z, the thinner alien was charmed all the same into whatever scheme was cooking. Hopefully no one was going to be roasted alive. Jo may like the smell of bacon, but she doubted that would be appetizing tonight. While the usual purple pill was already making his rounds and proving to be a menace, Jo rolled her eyes at the two goofing off and double-checked everything they had brought from the house. Clothes, sleeping bags, some treats, etc... Uh, who brought the canteen? She picked it up gingerly and gave it a sniff, pulling her head back with a sharp grimace. "Ew... I didn't even open the thing and it smells bad." Probably something Big Z would like. He... had this really weird thing for nasty junk passing itself as food. She set the container back down and briefly looked over at Lawrence before noticing Kev's little predicament. He needed to be rescued, didn't he?

    Yep, he did.

With a crack of her knuckles and a tousle of her hair, Jo approached the two aliens. "Don't worry, Kev, I got this." Big Z, you were a prized show horse with a flank to match, but even the mighty fall. Observe~! She nonchalantly walked into his blind side and reached out, doing the one thing he hated most. "Coochie, coochie, coo~!" She tickled him, and that was guaranteed to save Kev and irritate Big Z into a fit of confused, involuntary laughter. That was for keeping her up for two days straight because you developed ants in the pants!

They would find out, in time? How mysterious! "I hope its not alcohol. Or at least, strong, 'make you high and wanna strip off all your clothes' alcohol." If so, you wouldn't see this alien go anywhere near it! Prixlezub moved them further back, making Kev wonder more if maybe it had some radioactive properties. Oh yes, as curious as he was, he was not touching that.

And Hug Number One: Denied. Although seeing how Kev preferred not to be extra crispy, he'd let it slide. His arms probably wouldn't be able to reach around the demon's expansive body anyway. "Perhaps another time then! When you are less...fiery and hot." One day you will learn of the joys that come from Kev's hugs. "Nice to see you too, Zurg! You too Lawrence, in your shiny physique and all!~ Jojo!~" He tilted his head. Roped in? "If by roped in you mean asked if he wanted to join the sleepover, than yes~! Isn't this so exciting?" And would you look at that, Zurg was moving in for a hug! Kev's arms got ready.

Hug Number Two: Acce-NOOGIED. Kev let out a squeal as Zurg's juicy arms locked him into place, Kev flailing against him and having about as much success as ever. "Zuuuurg! Aagh! My scaaaales!" They felt like they were on FIRE! Well, maybe not that extreme...the friction building up from Zurg's knuckles was very warm though! And yet so familiar!~ "I can get out with a bribe~! How about I give you ten, no, fifteen credits! Will you release me then, huh? I'll add in a special jaaar~!" He pushed against Zurg's arm, trying to squeeze his head out and away, but he was quite stuck. What's an alien in distress to do?!

Why, wait for the gallant, brown haired knight in shining armor to ride in of course! Kev's eyes locked onto Jo's, a grateful look clear and shining in his big ole eyes. "My hero~!" You two could learn a lesson from her in how to save someone! Jo dove in and tickled the great purple alien, Kev wriggling around in his grasp. As soon as Zurg's ticklishness made him relinquish his grasp, Kev would slip out! Or, Zurg's grip could tighten and Kev could choke. Think your heroism could extend to CPR, Jo?

Re: A Sleepover? Is That What Normal People Do?

Difficult to wind down, eh? The demon gave an amused puff from his grill. That certainly was evident if what he said earlier was true, two days without sleep certainly was excited if the demon had ever seen it. Either excited or anticipating whatever may come. Prixlezub's brow furrowed slightly as he saw a small container that the purple alien brought forth, his grill openings twitching slightly as its scent wafted his way. The vessel certainly had an interesting smell, one that the demon did not seem to mind all that much. "I am interested to see what you have brought for later on. Its scent is quite... pungent." He remarked evenly. Perhaps they could reveal what they have brought at the same time, a show and tell of sorts? The demon tucked his claws beneath his chest as he observed the others, Lawrence seemingly content with the demon's explanation for now.

Though once Kev set foot on the greens, he got quite the welcome. Greetings and compliments went all around, and the demon gave a slight tip of his head when offered a hug for another time. "Yes, perhaps then. Until that time comes, I would rather spare your complexion." Prixlezub rumbled thoughtfully. But alas, such peace was not bound to last for long, as Kev was quickly turned into a victim of purple noogies.

However, there was something that caught the demon's attention... Roped in? Prixlezub turned his gaze back to the alien, who was now being tickled after being bribed with credits and special jars. Had the alien forced the other two to come along? That would certainly explain why Jo was here when she didn't really have the better impression of him compared to the other three. And Lawrence... The demon only recognized him as being a helping hand during a certain event. "Zurg, when I sent you the invitation, I said you could bring whoever you wished... However, did you interpret that as making them come along?" He inquired, a slight tone of worry in his voice. With that man's speaking ability, he may have coerced them both into attending. Though, another thought bubbled forth... Jo certainly knew about Zurg enough to find a sensitive point on him, and was quite close to the alien's heart. As for Lawrence, he had the firepower and air superiority whenever he chose. The mechanic was around due to Zurg, mainly keeping him in line if his sudden change was going to stay the way it was. Maybe she had further agreed to come due to knowing that Kev was going to be there and Lawrence. As for the robot... He could be useful for a number of things. The demon witnessed his abilities firsthand, he may have agreed to join as a further precaution if things turned sour.

Or, maybe they simply joined because they wanted to be a part of sleepover... One that occurred in the middle of a grassland, with a demon and a green alien who was much too noodly to be much of an affront against a demon prince when he suggested such an event. Yes, of course that was the reason.

The prince stayed silent as he mulled over what he observed, his expression unreadable as he turned his gaze forward towards the hills. The scenery looked quite nice this time of year...

    Wweh, spoilsport.

And look at Kev, trying to bribe the monarch with money and delicious excretion. "Kev, what do you take me for, a cheap hoo - did you say a special jar?" Delicious excretion! Zurg would have happily agreed to the terms had not Jo interfered. But first, a rebuttal to her amusing insensitive joke. The monarch deeply scowled beneath his veil, wearing a look similar to this. "Oh hardy-har-har, Jo. Like I needed that reminder about my reproductive system." Mock all you want, human. You will be saying the exact opposite when he's of age. And now it was time to react at Kev's liberation.

    "AAAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!"
Guess what happened? Zurg's grip became tighter after he busted a seam howling.

But only for a few seconds, because Jo's tickling got the best of the monarch's senses. He immediately let go of Kev and wrapped both arms protectively around his sides, scuttling away from the traitor. "Nnghgngngngnnn..." Jo, you wound him! And in front of everyone, too. Prixlezub's question got the man to suddenly stand up tall and straight, appearing indignant. "I did no such thing!" Zurg objected loudly. But when he cautiously looked back over at Jo, pause speaking for itself, and the monarch took a big step away from her. "...I might have have had a hand in roping them in, as Jo said?" he squeaked. Well, c'mon! It's not like he forced them to come or perish at their own will. He just... proved really convincing, that's all. Zurg really wanted to have a sleepover and he really wanted to enjoy it with those he cared for. What's so wrong about that!?

Being a good speaker didn't necessarily mean manipulative or evil all the time.

Lawrence just chuckled faintly at Zurg and Jo's antics, not seeing a reason to intervene as the monarch had earned that tickling. Kev was finally released from the merciless noogie-ing as the purple alien tried to protect himself from the tickle attack.

Things ended up on perhaps a more serious note as Prixlezub seemed to wonder if Zurg had forced the rest of the group to come along. Zurg did admit to trying to persuade them, but otherwise, Lawrence just shrugged a bit. "Well, he can be quite convincing, but if I did not wish to be here, I wouldn't be. This should prove an interesting night, and not in the usual 'the world is in peril' sense that we so often have to suffer through in this place."

Interesting was good, fighting for his life was something Lawrence could do without for quite a while longer.

"I'm just saying, Big Z. You walked right into it!" Not exactly the best defense but it was the truth. He did walk right into it!

Anyway, her daring rescue proved successful and Kev was let go without harm. The only downside? Big Z was now doing his best freight train impression, as in being really loud. She winced and wiggled a pinkie in one of her ears, thinking that tickling him might not have been the best method. "Well," she began, checking for hearing damage, "it's safe to say that your respiratory system works just fine." Ooh, you gonna be mad, Big Z, huh? Jo lightly socked him in the arm and looked up at Prixlezub for once. "Nah, he just asked if we'd like to go," she said. There really wasn't anything forced and besides; Jo took this as a great opportunity to get out and have a breath of fresh air. "Although he did try to make this sleepover sound as grand and exciting as possible. You know him -- a charmer." While also conveniently leaving out a few details.

"So, sleepover." Jo clapped her hands and swung both arms back and forth, looking around. "You boys got a plan or is this entirely on the fly?" she asked. Seeing as how Kev, Prixlezub, and Big Z weren't really veterans of sleepovers, that left Lawrence and herself all the wiser. "Right, sooooooo... Why don't we build a campfire? That way we can set up our stuff and enjoy the rest of the night." It's not like anyone could see around Prixlezub, should they opt for him instead.

"Thanks for that, Prix, I rather like my complexion!" He'd hate to end up with his scales all burned and crispy. An ironic way to die too, considering how much he liked fire. And what ho?~ It seems a certain part of his bribes got the attention and appeal of Zurg! He tried to look at him to the best of his ability. "Yes, yes, the specialist jar of all! For this one, I had a lot of tea, I bet it will be quite bitter!" Ya like that, duntcha Zurgy-Kins?~ While he got distracted by Jo's joke, Kev continued to wriggle, hoping that perhaps he could slip out. He'd excrete a bit for some lubrication, except then he may never be free, or at least he'd be attached to Zurg for a good while.

In the end though, Jo rode in and saved him, giving Zurg quite the tickling, Kev wincing slightly at the roaring laughter. He winced even more as Zurg's grip tightened. "Eep!" Thankfully it was for but a few moments and as soon as the grip was loosened, Kev slipped away. His hands went to the top of his head, feeling his scales and taking in how they were. "My head is so smooth now!" Indeed, Zurg's knuckles had scrubbed off some scales. Not unhealthy of course, since Kev routinely shed his scales. He was actually due for one soon and Zurg's noogie might have actually started it, as the top of his head was now shinier then the rest of his scales, newer and healthier. He flicked a few dead scales off before turning to Jo and giving her a hug, chuckling.

"Thank you so much! I thought I was going to die!" Death by Zurg. That beats out death by blackhole. Kev ruffled the top of Jo's head before releasing her from his hug, looking at her with bright, eager eyes. It'd been a while since they had gotten together, hadn't it? "Its so good to see you again, Jojo. How've you been?"

And eh? More talk of roping in? His head tilted to the side as they spoke. Lawrence asserted that if he didn't want to be here, he wouldn't be here at all. "Its good to have you here, all the same!" And Jo had been likewise asked to go, rather than forced to. She probably said 'roped in' as a saying more than anything. "Who's to say this thing won't be grand and exciting?~ Charmers are right every once and a while! And the best way to charm is to use a layer of truth.~" Kev was certainly going to make sure this wasn't just a boring night of halfhearted truth or dares and annoyed boozing. But as for a cohesive plan...?

"Well..." Kev reached in his pockets and drew out a list. "Step one is, for everyone to arrive." He checked it off. "Step two is share ideas. Step three, having fun. Step four, sleep and try not to cuddle during!" He put the paper away and looked at them with a slight shrug. "That's uh...all I've got."

And then Jo said the magic word. "Ooh ooh ooh! A campfire! That's a great idea, I've got the fire!" He waved his gloved hands in the air. "Lets collect some sticks and decide on where to start it! Don't want to set our bags on fire or get burned in our sleep after all."
