Zelda grinned at catching Link's sentiment, right before nodding to him and moving to blow on her own hot chocolate some. As she took her first sip, she thought to herself just how right her friend was... the past few days had been tough, but now... they really were set for a nice, restful day in.

The three Hylians were only able to get settled and enjoy their hot chocolate for a few moments before a slightly older concern was suddenly brought back to the fore, courtesy of Ciela's keen observation. Zelda's ears perked up slightly at the blunt question, and her own posture straightened somewhat before the older Link looked over to her with a worried expression. Her own brows creased in sympathy, and before Impa could give her excellent explanation, she paused only a short moment before stating, "No, we slept."

The disguised princess nodded to silently second Impa's words, soon shifting her gaze to Neri as the Spirit of Wisdom landed upon her knee. "It affected it… but we still got sleep. I promise you that."

Zelda's expression fell a touch at Neri's worried question, and as Impa answered her, she herself carefully reached forward to gently brush her fingertips against the edge of the blue fairy's glow, hoping to reassure her along with her guardian's answer. Holding her hand steady in case if Neri wanted to nuzzle into it or settle in it, Zelda managed to smile softly before turning to the older Link and adding, "When Link and I woke up, we remembered all of you… we did not know where you were, but Impa assured us that you were all safe and that you would be home soon. We knew she had to be right… because we know each of you."

Link was glad that his friends agreed with his sentiment, and in short order, all three of them were enjoying more than just the first sip of their hot chocolate. They had only begun to relax properly for a short time, though… right before Ciela brought that to a screeching halt with her concerned question. It was blunt and to the point, but the very subtle hint of concern was still there… and Tatl immediately picked up on both that as well as her Link's being stunned at thinking back on that.

Chiming a bit as though to echo Impa's words, the Terminian fairy said, "I made sure they did. You know how it can be with them when something weird's going on, but I wasn't about to let them go without even a little sleep."

"Heh…" Link's expression shifted from a sheepish one at Tatl's statement to a sympathetic one as he turned to the older Link, nodding in agreement with Impa and Zelda's responses. Like the two of them, he had known that something was off yesterday, but even with as restless as his night was, he had still managed to get at least a couple of hours of sleep. It was not as much as he needed or would have liked, but he had managed less before. At Zelda's voiced promise, Link nodded again before adding, "We did… you have my word as well."

As Impa answered Neri's quiet question, Link looked from the Sage of Shadow to the Spirit of Wisdom, his mind taking him back to when he was first pulled from sleep this morning. He had been concerned not knowing where his older nametwin was, but something deep within him had told him he was safe… maybe it was their shared spirit, maybe it was the Triforce of Courage… either way, he had been immensely relieved once Impa had reassured both Zelda and himself. Leaning a bit closer to the princess as she tried to comfort Neri, Link smiled a bit himself as he turned back to the older boy, noting, "Zelda's right. We were only worried for a little while… but even before Impa told us you were all okay, somehow… we already knew you were."

Link noted his friends' sympathetic expressions and tried to smile back though it wobbled and looked down at his mug of hot chocolate. His free hand fumbled out until he caught Impa's, gripping it firmly. Ciela rolled down from the back of his position on the couch and onto his shoulder, nuzzled once into his neck and held still there.

It amazed him. Despite this being one of the most tired he had ever been in his whole life, he was still a jumble of emotions inside. Shouldn't he be too tired to feel anything anymore?

But no, he was happy and it bubbled gleefully in him. Happy to be back, happy to be remembered, happy to spend the morning and part if not most or all day with his family here on Portal Breach and happy because they were all safe and everything was as it was.

    But he was also guilty.

He had kept them up, gave them a restless sleep and made them worry. It wasn't his fault and if their positions were swapped, he would be the same but it didn't make the feeling of guilt go away. Then there was also that part of him that drew a sense of delight from it because they cared for him to even sense something was wrong even when their memories were lost AND they were asleep. Isn't that one of the greatest proof of how close they were?

He lifted the cup to get another sip of his hot chocolate instead of staring at it but thought otherwise halfway through the motion.

Instead, Link sniffed, hastily wiped his eyes with the sleeve of his cup holding hand and finally looked back up to smile at his friends. Ciela took this moment to drift over and hold onto his mug, freeing up his hand. The Hero of Winds laughed softly, running a knuckle on the fairy's glow for thanks then leant forward and, at first shyly then with a confident grin, overlapped Zelda's hand on Neri. Neri gave a soft mew and nuzzled into Zelda's hand before Leaf suddenly jammed himself in.

"Hey, I feel like fairy nuzzles too," he said in a combination of sheepish and embarressed defense. "Plus, it's not just Zelda's hand..."

Link laughed and amidst the laughter, he leant further forward and rested his forehead on the point of the princess' shoulder. He would hug them again but the younger Link was on the other side of the couch and he wouldn't want to risk upsetting their drinks.

    Anyways....

He sniffed again and his grip of Impa's hand which had loosened when he reached for Zelda's, tightened again.

He was home. He really was home.

The instant that Link caught her hand with his own, Impa gripped it back, giving the lad's hand a strong squeeze before relaxing her hold to a steady yet gentler one. She could only imagine some of the turbulent emotions that the boy was going through right now, but even so, she was just glad that most of them had at least seemed to have settled on the happy side for him. He had no doubt just been through one of the most trying times of his young life, something that she hoped that none of her charges would ever have to experience anything close to ever again… and that tribulation alone was but one reason she was so pleased that he had his family here.

The four of them had traversed time itself in their coming together, but no matter the circumstances that had landed each of them here, the Sage of Shadow was deeply happy herself that they had found each other in this world.

The way that the Hero of Winds sniffled and quickly wiped his eyes before smiling and laughing softly alone confirmed the true boon that their family's connection brought to each of them. In the face of anything that might ever come their way or threaten any of them, they all had each other… and together, they could triumph over any hardship or peril, great or small.

They were all together… they were all home.

Tightening her own grip on Link's hand a touch as he did the same to hers, Impa smiled warmly at all three of her charges. Link, Zelda, and Link… the three of them were under her wing, and she would always look after them as best she could. It was just one more aspect of their family that she cherished, and now more than ever… she was honored to be the guardian of three very, very special young Hylians.

Once Link, Zelda, and Link were all settled from the Hero of Winds' initiation of this latest display of affection, Impa waited a few moments before stating, "Everything is all right now… we're all home, and we're all together. That will always remain true."

At that, the Sheikah leant forward and kissed the older boy on the top of his head. The action was meant to show that he was indeed back home as well as to wish him the sweetest dreams. After their heartwarming reunion, the Sage of Shadow was very confident that they were all about to get some much needed and well-deserved peaceful rest. Since they were together… to her, that seemed to be the only future for this day.

Zelda's expression softened a touch as the older Link looked down to his mug, her own emotions still something of a jumble themselves. She felt a little guilty that her friend was concerned about worrying them, but far more than that, she was just so happy that he had returned home safely and that they were all together again. Once he was able to look back up to them with a genuine smile though, her own smile returned, and she soon laughed softly as he moved to overlap his hand on her own.

Nodding confidently to the older boy, Zelda glanced back to Neri at her soft mew and nuzzle, right before she grinned a little more at Leaf's sudden appearance. Laughing a little more at the Spirit of Power's added reasoning for why he didn't mind jumping in on this fairy nuzzle, the disguised princess said, "I hope you don't mind just my hand then, Leaf… you know I'm just as glad to see you back too."

A moment later, once the older Link had moved to rest his forehead against her shoulder, Zelda's ears perked up ever so slightly, just a moment before she glanced over to him with a warm smile. She had never expected that her own waiting to fight for the true, safe future for Hyrule would land her in this world, but time-traversing and everything else aside, she was very glad that fate had led her right back to part of her family here, and even more that it had grown to include not only the Link from her time, but also her best friend from a distant future of her kingdom.

It was a chance that she was grateful for every day, and now more than ever, this cozy room truly felt like home. Home was where one's heart was… home was where one's family was. And here… she was downright certain that four hearts came together as four pieces to form one whole… one heart container, one home.

As Link sniffed, Zelda soon did as well, right before she moved to carefully rest her head against the older boy's from where it lay on her shoulder. Letting out a silent sigh at Impa's words, the princess simply agreed, "That's right… and we're all very glad to have you home, Link."

They were all home, they were all together… and with both of those truths, rest was sure to come much easier for all of them.

Link leaned forward a bit more as the older Link looked to his mug, thinking to himself how he was sorry that they had inadvertently made their friend worry, but far more than that… he was just so glad to see him back home, safe and in one piece. In some senses, he felt more complete now that his older nametwin was back. They were both undoubtedly their own persons, two young boys that happened to have many differences in addition to their more numerous similarities, but given that they shared the same spirit and their close friendship regardless of that… he couldn't really describe it, but deep down, he just felt… whole again.

As Tatl fluttered just a bit closer to his head, Link smiled a bit more, just in time to greet the older boy's own newfound smile once he looked back up to them. Now that the Hero of Winds had gripped Impa's hand and had placed his other one over Zelda's, the Hero of Time's smile softened just a little, right before he carefully set his own mug down on the coffee table and moved to hop off the couch. A few steps later, and he was standing in front of the future Link, right before he nodded slightly to Zelda and reached over to wrap his right arm around the older boy's shoulders. Moving to carefully overlap his left hand with Zelda and Link's rights near Neri and Leaf, Link soon leant his own head forward until it was gently resting against both of his friends. A few seconds later, he felt Impa's free hand come to rest on his left shoulder, and with a soft laugh, he said, "We're all home… and as long as we're together, we always will be."

Link wasn't quite sure if he had picked up that surprisingly profound statement from some of the advice he had taken from Impa or if it was something related to the Triforce itself, but either way, it had just felt like the right thing to say here. It had taken him a little while to get to this point… but now, he was just very glad that he had.

Link was really home… and now that he was, they all really were.

Link felt Zelda place her head against his. He chuckled then jolted a little in surprise as the other Link was suddenly by his side. When did he... he must be really tired if he didn't even register his friend moving. He  tilted his head to smile up at the other Link, making sure not to move to much as Zelda's head was leant against his and he blinked in confusion as the Hero of Time's arm moved. When it wrapped around his shoulder's he stared at it, dumbfounded for a few seconds whilst his friend overlapped his hand on Zelda's and leant forward to place his head against theirs.

    Then his vision blurred.

"Hehe," he chuckled hoping the laughter would chase away the tears. Really, he had cried enough already. He didn't want to cry anymore. Not for a very long time. Link sniffed. Home. They said it too. This was their home. They're family and this was their home.

Neri moved aside for Leaf to get his share of pats and nuzzles. "Yes, we're home indeed," she murmured before leaning her glow against that of Leaf's and on Zelda's hand. With another snuggle and a soft mew as she exhaled slowly, her glow pulsed a little slower and dimmed a fraction before she fell right asleep.

Leaf followed soon after with a happy wriggle into Zelda's hand, the top of his glow scratching into her fingertips. "Why would I mind? I'm too happy to even....think... of... T...V..."

"Pfft, you're thinking of it now," Ciela muttered, putting down Link's mug on the coffee table. She turned around just in time to see Impa lean forward and give Link a kiss on the top of his head to which the boy froze. Link lifted his head and gaped up at the Sheikah.

"Aa..." he managed to sound, voice cracking a little as the tears welled up in his eyes finally tracked their ways down his cheeks. Then his face broke into a big smile and he slowly dropped his head back on Zelda's shoulder, eyes closing as he did so.

Ciela left the coffee table, making a detour up to Impa's face before she returned to Link.

"I..." she started then shook her wings slowly. She couldn't find the words and even if she did, they didn't seem enough. Instead, she flew forward and nuzzled the Sheikah's cheek a few times. "Sleep well," she said and flew down to join Link.

This New Year had been stressful. Incredibly so. But the one good side, the single good thing out of it all? It solidified something the eight of them already knew.

They had a home in the world they're from. They each had their own families and homes. Now, they had another one and they honestly could not ask for a better one.

Link's hands in Impa's and between Zelda's and Link's squeezed once more as he yawned then fell asleep.
