Link felt their arms around him. "Ha..." He closed his eyes tightly before he buried his face into their shoulders. They could see him. They could hear him. They remembered him. Link laughed, sniffed loudly and laughed again. Only twenty four hours ago, they didn't even remember his name and here he was back to hug them. His forehead pressed hard against their shoulder. Was it Link's or Zelda's? He couldn't tell and he didn't want to open his eyes to find out because he knew he would just cry even more than he already was.

His breath hitched again and the boy clenched his teeth as he tried to force an ounce of control over his emotions, tried to suppress the shuddering. He was happy though! So ridiculously happy that he didn't even think it was possible. Crying this much out of happiness, to feel all the emotions that had built up rush right out in a confusion of happiness and tears. He thought only the appearence of Aryll and Grandma on the Breach would trigger something like this.

Link sat up, very little care that he was effectively sitting right on top of his best friends' legs and just stared at them whilst his grin remained as wide as ever. The choked up emotions in his throat wanted him to throw his head back and just sob outright like a child but he can't do that. Well.. he can. He knew he can but he wouldn't. He wasn't a child. He was older. He was 24 hours older. He was adamant to stay strong. He had cried enough already!

    Yet.

    There was always a YET!

Yet he lifted an arm and covered his eyes, allowed his sleeve to soak up the tears still welling up in his eyes and rolling out of the corners of his closed eyelids. Relief, they were tears of relief, right?

I missed you so much too, he mouthed slowly with his eyes still covered.

    "Haha..."

Good morning. It's good to see you as well, were the second set of words he mouthed. His lips froze on the end of the last word as a familiar voice sounded behind him. The innkeeper gasped, turned around sharply to look up at the Sheikah standing in the doorway, his eyes wide with disbelief.

In a blink of an eye, he was up, off the legs of his two friends and pouncing the taller woman around the waist, pushing his nose into her stomach. He did this only a day ago. This exact same thing. But last time, it was careful hugging where he wrapped his arms gently around her and the feeling of Impa's stomach against his face was entirely made up by his imagination. Now he had the real thing. His face wasn't breaking up into numbers, his arms were intact and Impa held him, saw him, heard him and remembered him. He wasn't a being that would cause her a headache to see. He was actually there.

Above him, three balls of winged lights detached themselves from Impa and shot diagonally downwards.

"Z--SHEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIKKKKKK!" screamed Neri at the top of her voice, nosediving towards the boyishly pyjama-ed princess. The fairy landed on the bridge of Zelda's nose, lifted off, landed again on her forehead, her cheek and her other cheek as a series of fairies pecks. "We're okay! You remember us, right? You do, yes? Oh it was terrible. It was horrible. I don't want that to ever happen again. I LOVE YOU! ALL OF YOU!"

Leaf was a little torn as to who to hug. In the end he bounced between the two children on the floor, landing on one then the other then back and urgh, this was tiring. You know what would be easier? He'll just roll! Less wing work and more momentum. So the red fairy rolled from one side of Link's tummy to the other side of Zelda's, content to keep repeating the action until they get up.

"Why are you on the floor?"
questioned Ciela, hovering over the younger Link before landing lightly on his forehead. She looked from Leaf to Link to Zelda and Neri. Huh, she feels like she's missing something - OH TATL! Ciela took off again, flapping higher. She approached her fairy friend quickly at first then slowed once she was within Tatl's private airspace. "Hello," she greeted, for once a little loss for words. The Spirit of Courage leant forward, brushing the side of her fairy glow against that of the Tatl's. "I hope you looked after them while we were gone."

Back over at the doorway, Link finally unpeeled his face from Impa's stomach with a 'bwa' to take a breath. The tears had stopped which was a good sign. He smiled up at the Sage and stepped back from the hug, this time to catch her hand and lightly tug at it whilst gesturing with his other hand for her to bend down.

Once she did so. Link placed his hands on her shoulders and carefully mouthed two words. I'm home.

He stepped forward, the hands on her shoulders moving past them to loop around her neck as he hugged her tightly.

The sight of the hug that her three charges shared filled Impa's heart with a warmth that not even their own previous yuletide celebration could match, and that strong feeling only grew as the Hero of Winds reacted to catching the sound of her voice. As he gasped and quickly turned round to look up to her, her pleased smile remained and she nodded firmly to him as though to prove that yes, she could see him, and she fully remembered him.

In a display of speed that only she could fully see, the older Link was back on his feet from where he had been on top of his friends, and in one smooth motion, had tackle-hugged her around the waist. As he tightened his arms around her and buried his face into her armor, Impa's smile only broadened, and scarcely a moment later, she was already hugging him back. She only held a vague recollection of their similar, non-corporeal hug from yesterday, but now, she was beyond elated to be able to embrace her charge properly. There were no words that could say any more than their shared hug did, and as it stood, the Sheikah was more than content to hold him for as long as he wanted to hug her. He could cry all he wanted, he could hug her as tight as he could… nothing could change the fact that she was there for him.

Impa continued to hug Link securely as Neri, Leaf, and Ciela reunited with Zelda, Link, and Tatl, and only after a minute or two did the Hero of Winds pull back from the hug. The Sage of Shadow glanced down to meet his grin with one of her own as he took a step back, and a moment later, she raised her eyebrows curiously as he took her hand, soon tugging on it whilst gesturing for her to bend down. With a knowing smile, Impa nodded slightly to him before kneeling, and as her right knee touched the floor, Link moved to carefully place his hands on her shoulders. Catching his gaze and the two simple words that he mouthed, her expression brightened considerably. Yes… Link was home.

    "Yes... you are."

As Link leaned forward to hug her tightly, Impa returned the embrace once more, holding her charge close. The Hero of Winds was home… their family was together again… and as far as the Sheikah was concerned, no matter what happened to their world here, she was determined to do all she could to help things stay that way for a very, very long time.

As Link buried his face into her and Link's shoulders, Sheik just hugged him close and laughed along with him and the younger Link. She could not have cared less that she was effectively trapped underneath her two best friends… actually, if anything, regardless of the hug, she was glad to be there with them. Even as the older boy's breath hitched and his frame shuddered, the disguised princess and Hero of Time held on tight. They were here for him, and she knew that Link was just as set to prove that as she was.

Several moments later, once Link managed to sit up, Sheik just looked to him with a broad grin. She managed to prop herself up on her elbows as she and the younger Link regarded their friend, the two of them exchanging an ecstatic smile of their own before looking back to him. This was real… Link was back! He was home, and they were already able to see him again! Even though she knew what to say in just about any situation, here, the disguised princess found that she couldn't really think of what to say that had not already been conveyed with their supremely special group hug. As the older boy moved to cover his still tearful eyes with his arm, Sheik smiled sympathetically towards him. Even though he could not see her look at the moment, she reached forward to place her right hand on his knee from where he was still sitting atop her and Link, hoping to instill just that extra bit of strength in her friend. She knew he was strong and that he could make it through this… but she was still his friend and wanted to add just that other little bit of proof to it.

Having carefully read the two sets of words that he mouthed to them, Sheik exchanged another smile with the younger Link, but before she could say anything else, Impa arrived on the scene with the timing that the disguised princess knew all too well. A moment later, Link was off of her and Link and hugging her guardian around the waist, but before Sheik or the younger boy could get up from their own positions on the floor, three very familiar balls of light rocketed towards the two of them.

Sheik very shortly found herself the target of not only a high-pitched, thankfully quickly corrected shriek from Neri, but also a sudden, rapid series of fairy kisses front he Spirit of Wisdom. Soon laughing slightly at the fairy's enthusiasm even as she continued to bounce about and deliver sweet pecks, the disguised princess replied, "Of course we remember you, Neri! We love you guys too, and we're just so glad you're back!"

As the Spirit of Wisdom continued her never-ending set of fairy kisses, Sheik and Link were caught by Leaf's affectionate bounces and rolls. Once Ciela gave her own characteristic greeting, it appeared that the older Link had pulled himself back from his special hug with Impa, and a moment later, had silently asked for her to lean down so that he could hug her even better. As the Sheikah did so, the disguised princess and Hero of Time smiled even more. Yes… Link was most certainly home now.

Several moments later, Sheik looked to Link right as he started to get back up to his feet, soon offering a hand to help her up. As the two friends got their bearings again and looked back to see the older Link still hugging Impa, they exchanged another smile and nod before they both moved to catch their friend in the middle of a true group hug. Sheik wrapped her arms around the shoulders of Impa and both Links as she leaned forward, thinking to herself that there could not have been a better way to start their morning today.

    Their family was together again.

Link hugged the older boy back just as tight as Sheik did, and he found himself laughing happily along with his two friends here. He didn't care that they were entangled or on the floor! He didn't care that he was sandwiched between Link and Sheik! Link was back! The three of them were together again!

This Link was beyond excited! And even once the older boy managed to sit up on them and he himself propped himself up from where he was on the floor, that excitement remained in full force. He shared a grin with Sheik before turning that big smile back to Link, still feeling so incredibly relieved to see that his friend was back safe and sound. Much like the disguised princess, he didn't quite know what to say here, but as the Hero of Winds covered his eyes up with his sleeve, seemingly both catching tears and trying to better dry his eyes, Link just shifted his grin into something more of a soft smile. As Sheik placed her hand on his knee, the Hero of Time clenched his left hand into a fist and gently bumped the back of his hand against the older boy's more relaxed right. The left was still up with the rest of his arm in front of his eyes of course, but even so, he hoped that the gesture would still mean a lot.

As Impa appeared, Link's grin instantly brightened further, and as the older boy jumped up to hug her as well, the Hero of Time soon found himself caught in another ecstatic greeting. As Neri pounced on Sheik in a flurry of fairy kisses, Leaf caught both of them with his own bouncing back and forth, and subsequent rolling back and forth. Once Ciela voiced her own question, Link just laughed a little sheepishly to her, saying, "We just ended up here." He did grin again as the Spirit of Courage gently landed on his forehead though, right before tracking her movements as she flew up to greet Tatl. Yeah… now this reunion was all but perfect.

"Hey," replied Tatl, bobbing slightly at Ciela, right before puffing a bit in pride at the hug from her fellow yellow fairy. Yeah, instances like this, she could handle stuff like that. In response to her question, Tatl stated, "You know I did. They're all fine… and I think that all of them, your Link included, will be better than ever now."

Link could not help but agree with his fairy's words, and he soon caught the perfect chance to finally get back to his feet. Pulling himself off of Sheik's lap as best he could before hopping back up, he held out his hand to the disguised princess, smiling to her as he hoped to help her back to her feet as well. He knew that she was perfectly capable of getting back up on her own, but after the way the two of them had crashed to the ground, he thought that the gesture might help just a little bit… especially since she had ended up underneath both the older Link and himself. Once she got back to her feet and the two were set again, the two shifted their gaze from Link and Impa, back to each other, and they proceeded to nod. In unison, Link and Sheik stepped forward, soon wrapping their arms around both the older boy and the Sheikah, turning the hug of two into a group hug.

Link closed his eyes as he enjoyed the feelings of this closeness, and as they all stood there, he thought to himself that this was right… this was his family… this was home.

As he was hugged not just by Impa but from Zelda and the younger Link, this Link could not help but gave a surprised gasp which quickly changed into quiet chuckling. His arms moved from around Impa's neck to loop around Zelda and Link's as well. He bit his lower lip and leant into Impa's shoulder. Just when he had finally got control over his tears and thought that was the end of them, they came back to quietly running down his cheeks.

He felt Neri, having flew up after pecking Zelda's face numerous times, lightly fluttered her wings against his cheeks, not caring how the tears made her wings wet as she nuzzled him affectionately. "We're home. We're really home. It's okay to cry, Link."

At week ago, she cannot believe she could love this family any more than she already did but after the past few days, she really did love them more. Much much more. She cannot even begin to voice how much. There wasn't a number. They were all special to her, to each other and all in their unique way. Putting a label of 'best friend' wasn't enough, neither was 'special friend'. Neri would like to think 'family' was the best way to put it but even then she felt the word wasn't enough. She gave Link one more fairy kiss then moved away, swirling once in a tight circle to glide onto Zelda's head, nestling amongst the girl's hair and gave a soft mew as she lowered her wings and laid flat.

Ciela watched in the air with Tatl. "Hmm," sounded the fairy, turning a little and lifting a wing to exchange a look with her fellow yellowish winged friend. She then did a roll in the air, tumbling down in 'oh may as well' style to rest on the innkeeper's head. He certainly cried a lot and she would have made that comment aloud had the moment she landed upon Link's hat, she felt like weight had been dropped off her wings and she lowered them to rest against the green fabric, pulsing a gentle warm glow of peaceful contentness.

Leaf, having rolled off the Hero of Time's stomach when he got up, had went straight to spiralling Impa and the innkeeper's hug before choosing to land delicately on the tip of Impa's pointed ear on the side not occupied by the Hero of the Winds and snuggled against the Sage's hair from there.

They had no idea how long they stayed like this and as far as Link and his fairies felt, and he was sure the feeling also extends towards the others in the hugs as well, they could stay like this forever. In this warm hug of memories restored and reuniting after a fight for his very existence. They didn't have to say anything, hugs, tri-fives, waggling eyebrows, touches and simple gestures spoke volumes more than any words could. Link wanted to close his eyes and just sleep here...

    ...

    ...

He wriggled uncomfortably. Yes, he would like to stay here emotional feelings wise but...

"Um..." he sounded as he pulled his head off Impa's shoulder.

    ...

    ....

His stomach let loose an almighty growl. "Ehehe..."

Impa's warm smile shifted into a veritable grin as several moments later, both Sheik and the younger Link moved to join her and Link's hug. She still kept her hold strong and steady on the Hero of Winds even as her other two charges wrapped their arms around him and her shoulders, and as the fairies flew over to join them, she let her red eyes slide closed. She felt the older boy lean his head against her shoulder, and in turn, she gently rested her own head against his own. Laughing very softly in contentment as Leaf nestled himself between her left ear and the side of her head, Impa thought to herself that truly, there was no better way for their family to welcome Link home.

Some time later in the hug, Impa opened her eyes as she felt the older Link shift in the hug, and as he removed his head from her shoulder, she too leant back, smiling softly to him right before and even as his stomach growled. "That's all right, Link… you must be hungry after all that, and you're just in time for breakfast. … Come on you three, let's get to that."

With the slightest glint in her eye, as Sheik and the younger Link pulled back from the hug as well, Impa soon moved to adjust her hold on the older Link, right before picking him up and standing in one smooth motion. With a confident smile to the Hero of Winds, she nodded strongly to him as her other two charges bolted back for the kitchen to help finish preparing their breakfast. The Sheikah closed the door behind her before walking towards the dining area, carrying Link in her arms as she did so. She knew perfectly well that he could walk, but she could also tell that he had exhausted much of his energy over the past several hours, and it was likely best for him to take it easy, enjoy a filling breakfast, and then get lots of rest today.

Once she had arrived at the table, Impa very carefully set Link down in his usual seat, making sure that both of his glasses were full of Lon Lon milk and juice respectively. A quick glance from the set plates to the kitchen showed that Zelda and Link were nearly finished with the breakfast, and that all that really remained for them was the eggs. As she was sure that Link was settled at the table, the Sheikah nodded once more to him before making her way over to the stove, set to cook the eggs that had now all been set in the warming pan. "You both have done a fine job getting things started," stated Impa, nodding to Link and Zelda. "I can take over from here… you go on and visit."

Catching the grateful nods from the princess and the Hero of Time, Impa turned her attention to the eggs, her smile still remaining as she thought about just how glad she was that the Hero of Winds had returned in time for one of their favorite meals.

Sheik enjoyed this new hug for several long moments, although she did pull back just a bit once she felt the older Link move a bit in it. His stomach soon let him know that the time to finally get to breakfast was now, and the disguised princess could not help but laugh along slightly with her friend. She and Link might not have had enough time to finish everything once he'd arrived, but at the very least, his timing meant that the eggs would not get cold. After all, those were the only things left to fix!

As this hug came to an end, Sheik grinned as Impa moved to pick the Hero of Winds up, and now that he was set, she and Link ran back into the kitchen. "Of course, Impa!" In short order, he had turned the burner on, and she had set about cracking the eggs into the steadily warming pan. Now they were on track for a perfectly timed breakfast! Zelda shared a soft laugh with Link, and about a minute later, she looked up to Impa as her guardian entered the kitchen. The disguised princess did not mind finishing making the eggs herself, but since Impa had been kind enough to offer to take over, she was very eager to get to spend some more time with Link. She imagined that he might spend much of the day resting, since he had undoubtedly had a long night given what little she knew about what had transpired, so this breakfast was set to be even more special. "Thank you… we'll meet you at the table."

Walking back over to the table and sitting down into her own seat as the younger Link hopped up into his, Zelda just smiled broadly at the older Link. Nodding towards his plate, that already had a good deal of his food on it save the eggs and whatever toast he wanted, she said, "I hope that this breakfast is a good one for you, Link. Link and I made sure to make enough for all four of us… including extra sausage for you."

Each plate did already have a good portion of food set on it, and there were a few extras that had already been doled out… after all, a long night deserved to be met with a hearty breakfast. And even though she had slept pretty soundly the night before herself, Zelda was looking very forward to sharing this meal with her family.

Link was definitely enjoying this new group hug just about as much as he had enjoyed the tackle-hug on the floor from just a few moments ago. Best of all was his older nametwin's surprise reaction to him and Sheik joining in! He knew they would all share breakfast soon, but for now, he was content to enjoy this.

"Yeah… I might as well join in," noted Tatl, performing a similar roll in the air to Ciela, right before slowly flying over to the Hyruleans and nestling herself on her Link's shoulder. She was probably the least huggy of the fairies, but if she could do things on her terms, the she could most certainly handle them. And this was one of those rare occasions where she did not might jumping in.

As the older boy's stomach let itself be known, Link laughed a little along with him, right before nodding to Impa at her words and dashing off to the kitchen with Zelda. Most of the food had been prepared, but they had to get the last bit finished now! As Impa carried the future Link to the dining area, Link moved to turn on the heat of the stove for Zelda. The two had already got a good start on the eggs when Impa appeared, insisting that they both go visit their returned friend, at which point the Hero of Time nodded thankfully to her. "Thanks, Impa."

At that, he moved to the table where he hopped up into his own seat, barely able to suppress his watering mouth at seeing the food that he and Zelda had already set out. Link did turn to smile to the older boy though, inwardly thinking of just how glad his friend was back, and of course of how they were set to share this meal together. Nodding at Zelda's words, Link added, "Yeah… we wanted it to be the perfect Welcome Home Breakfast as well, so I hope that what's out is still warm!"

Link blinked as Impa's arms moved, his brows creasing into confusion. What was she doing? He's fine. He's unharmed. There was no need to check if he's fine. See! No injuries on his arms, they move fi--AAA! His eyes widened as he was suddenly lifted into the air. Huh? HUH? He was used to lifting poeople but not the other way round!

He mock-sulked for a moment, with crossed arms and exagerrated pout but then burst into chuckles as his stomach growled again. How often was it you get carried by a tall Sheikah? Not very often , he'd imagine! So he'll enjoy this while it lasted and when he was placed down in his seat. Yes, HIS seat. This was HIS seat. Ciela followed, swiftly landing on Link's shoulder whilst Leaf settled on the other. Usually they weren't so clingy but today, they felt they were within reason to be especially when they themselves were as tired as Link was. They did not realise exactly how exhausted they were though until their eyes land upon the sight of the plates of food, milk, juice and IS THAT AN EXTRA SAUSAGE? Oh my, he didn't even know where should he start first. The sausage? the milk? The juice? The younger Link's sausage?

The innkeeper nodded his thanks for Impa, leaning slightly so he could peek into the kitchen. Seems like breakfast was nearly ready and another growl from his tummy made him scratch his chin with a finger in embarassment. Knowing Hylian ears, they all probably heard it in the kitchen even above the sizzling of the eggs.

The boy swung his legs as he waited for his friends to join him round the table, smiling warmly as two of his friends did. Neri took this opportunity to roll off Link's head and float over to Zelda's snuggling into her hair with renewed affection. "I love you all so much," mumbled the Spirit of Wisdom which made Ciela rolled her glowing body in the fairy approximation of an eye roll whilst Leaf, again, voiced his own manliness with "PLATONICALLY!"

Link laughed and gave his friends a thumbs up. The breakfast was perfect and soon to be even more perfect once Impa joined them with the eggs. He removed his hat, placing it on the back of the seat. His sword was next alongside his shield and he set those beside his chair before sighing and rolling his shoulders. He then took out his digiglass and wrote his first message for the day. "It's great to be home."

THEN he stabbed his fork into Zelda's bacon.

Impa smiled to Link as she lifted him up into her arms, unable to resist chuckling softly as well once he started laughing. "Don't worry, Link… I know you can make it, but please forgive me as I did want to help see you back to your seat." At that, she started the short walk from the door towards the dining area, and once she was certain that his chair was out far enough, she gently set him down in it. As soon as he was situated, she continued on into the kitchen, soon taking over the cooking as Zelda and Link both dashed back to take their seats at the table.

The welcome conversation of her three charges filtering in from the other room, Impa was able to finish the eggs in short order, all eight of them scrambled to perfection. With the final dash of seasoning to them, the Sheikah moved to turn off the heat and carry the pan through to the dining area, appearing just in time to catch Link's written message and subsequent piercing of Zelda's own bacon.

Once the disguised princess had returned the favor though, Impa appeared by the table side to serve the eggs, using the spatula to place them out on the older Link's plate first. "Here you go, Link… now that's a complete breakfast for you." With the remaining eggs placed on Zelda's, Link's and her own plate, the Sage of Shadow returned the cookware to the kitchen before coming back to the table, this time taking her own seat. Now this was a true breakfast… all four of them together once more.

Catching the happy expressions of her three charges, Impa herself could not have been more elated, and she soon moved to lift her glass of Lon Lon milk, holding it over the center of the table as she stated, "Here's to Link's return, and a good day of rest for each of us."

Zelda was all too happy to join the older Link at the table, and she laughed softly once Neri moved to snuggle back onto the top of her head. "We love you all too… and we're very glad that you all returned in time for breakfast," noted Zelda, catching the younger Link's own nod at that. The love for those returned was platonic as Leaf insisted of course, but it was still very special… after all, that's how family was.

As the Hero of Winds got situated, Zelda's smile only grew once she read out his presented text. She nodded strongly to her friend, thinking to herself just how happy she was to have him home as well…

… right before she very quickly caught the older Link's bacon at the end of her own fork. She had caught the very slight tell of his upcoming action, and with a swiftness that she was still perfecting, managed to stab his before he'd even finished his own playful theft.

Holding it up as he pulled her own bacon towards himself, Zelda grinned to him, stating, "And it's great to have you home, Link."

This fun exchange that had become something of their tradition truly marked that, and Impa's serving of the freshly cooked eggs helped get them even more set for the delicious meal. Zelda grinned even more now that their plates were full, and that smile remained as her guardian moved to take her own seat. As if to make this breakfast even more special, she raised her glass in a toast, so with the hand that was not currently holding a forkful of bacon, Zelda picked up her own glass of milk, soon holding it forward.

"Here here!" Now that was truly a toast to start the day!

Link's grin only grew at catching Zelda's sentiment to welcoming the older Link, Ciela, Leaf, and Neri home, and he soon nodded to both of his friends.

"Yeah… it's great to have you guys back," said Link. As if to echo his own words, the Hero of Winds soon wrote his first message since he had returned, and seeing those words made the Hero of Time's smile soften slightly. It was no less warm, but it just made him feel special to be able to see his best friend returned safe and sound. He blinked before nodding firmly to him, but his expression soon shifted to one of surprise as he saw the older boy already jumping to stab his fork into Zelda's bacon. "Ah?!"

And at the same time, Zelda suddenly had the future Link's bacon.

"Great, we're already back to this?" Tatl grumbled, but it was only half-heartedly. At least this meant things could go back to normal.

Link just laughed at his friends' exchange, right before his eyes lit up at the presentation of the scrambled eggs. With the rest of the food served out and Impa soon joining them, NOW this was a perfect breakfast! He was set to grab his own fork, yet as the Sheikah lifted her glass and voiced a very nice toast, Link nodded vigorously and went to grab his own glass of milk. Holding it up and it towards the other two glasses, he grinned, adding a very simple "Yes!"

Indeed, there was no better way to get things back to normal than with a good breakfast with even better friends.

Link didn't mind being saw back to his seat and even Leaf wouldn't complain about how unmanly it would look to be carried when it was Impa doing the carrying. JUST another display of the Sheikah's strength would be how Leaf saw it.

"Ha?" Link gaped as Zelda was chewing on his bacon faster than he could retract his arm back over to his side of the table. Ciela rolled her glow in agreement with Tatl. "Yes, we're back to this already. Link," she addressed the younger one suddenly, "Protect your plate if you want to keep the stuff on it."

"Aa!" faux-snapped Link, shrugging the shoulder Ciela was on so that her posture was ruined. Don't give the enemy warning! He could have had another bacon! But playful food stealing would have to be placed on hiatus as Impa came outholding the most delicious looking scrambled eggs Link had ever seen and his stomach was inclined to agree. Loudly.

His eyes remained glued on the eggs as they were dished out, the princess' bacon still stabbed on his fork and completely forgotten about. This breakfast was just.... just... Link's eyes went up, looking at Impa. Before the Sheikah could move to give Zelda and the younger Link their portion of the eggs. Link hopped up to stand on his chair, one hand reaching up to grab the sage's upper arm and with a laugh and the added height, he leant in and kissed Impa on her left cheek. Thank you, he mouthed as he pulled back and sat back down.

When all the breakfast items were finally on the plates and Impa sat down, Link looked around the table, heaving a content blissful sigh. It was a perfect breakfast. You can't deny it. He can't think of a better way for this morning to happen. The past few days might had been painful but it brought to light exactly how much he loved each of them and how much more he loved them now.

As Impa voiced a toast, Link picked up his glass of mi- er, wait, that's juice. MILK!

    "Aa!" he said.

OH HEY! Zelda's bacon! Stuff in mouth.

Impa could tell how much the sight of the breakfast seemed to mean to Link, and she did soon raise her eyebrows slightly as the boy quickly hopped into a standing position on his chair. Before she could move to serve out the rest of the eggs, she found that he had caught her upper arm, and no sooner had she started to glance back to the boy with a soft smile, than had he leaned in to give her a kiss on the cheek. The Sheikah's smile only grew at that and his silent words, and with a strong nod to him, she moved to make sure they were all set for this meal.

As her three charges lifted their own glasses of milk to meet her toast, Impa nodded strongly to them as they all clinked their glasses together. Once they had each taken a celebratory sip of Lon Lon milk, the Hyrulean family proceeded to dig right into their hot breakfast. The eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and pancakes were all cooked to perfection, and although this combination was a rather common breakfast for the four of them, the Sheikah could not help but feel that it tasted the slightest bit better considering the nature of this meal. It was a fusion of the delicious food and the nature of the occasion, but nevertheless, it only made it all the more special.

Indeed, it truly was a perfect breakfast.

Playful antics, animated conversation/gestures, and general good feelings carried on throughout the entire meal, and once all four of them had cleaned their plates, Impa insisted on taking care of the dishes. As she cleared the table, the three young Hylians remained in their seats, still talking amongst themselves as their food settled. By the time she had got all of the dishes cleaned up, Impa gave a knowing nod to Zelda and the younger Link before glancing to the older Link, smiling warmly to him.

"I'm sure you're tired Link, so you do be sure to rest up today," stated Impa, placing a hand on his shoulder. "If you would like, you know you are more than welcome to spend the entire day and night here, resting wherever you like. We would love to have you."

As soon as the four Hyruleans shared their toast, they were set to enjoy the breakfast in front of them. Zelda readily bit into the bacon she had snatched from the older Link, right before moving to enjoy the rest of the delicious food. She shared a happy grin and nod with the younger Link, thinking to herself that the two of them had done quite well with what they had cooked of it. The food itself was very good, but far more than that, the disguised princess was thrilled for the company she got to share it with.

Link was back, and she was determined to help make the next couple of days extra special for him.

Once they had finished their lively meal, the three young Hylians found themselves at the table continuing to visit. Impa had insisted on clearing the dishes up, and even though Zelda would have been more than happy to help, she was glad for the chance to visit the older Link a little more. Even with as much as the reunion and meal had brightened his spirits, there was still a hint of tiredness in his eyes, and she sincerely hoped that he would be able to get some good rest today.

Unsurprisingly, Zelda was not the only one that was thinking that, as Impa soon moved to let him know that he could spend the entire day here, and resting if needed. She readily nodded in agreement, looking to the older boy as she said, "Yes, if you'd like to stay here, we could even run and get your pajamas for you. We can double check to see that the inn is set for the day… after all, it's still after the new year, so that would work out even better for us."
