From his position in the suit, Minion was not quite aware of how stiff his 'footsteps' were, he just knew the legs were moving, which was good enough for him. With time, and as he got more used to the suit, perhaps the gait would become more lax, more casual. As long as the legs moved, they were acceptable in Minion's eyes. He looked over at Prixlezub, tilting slightly at what he said.

"A commanding air...? Really?" He glanced down at himself and did a small twirl inside the tank, checking himself out. The suit WAS taller...a bit more intimidating than his last one. It was leaner. It looked sterner and more fit. He DID have something of a commanding air. "I've never HAD a commanding air before..." He was never much of a commander. He was...well, without Megamind, he wasn't much of anything, was he? He could be something, now. He could be more than just a minion.

    Perhaps even...

    A Master?

The thought was titillating, but fleeting. He sent Prixlezub a nod and walked over to the pile of books. The blind spot probably couldn't be helped, but when his upper body was so barrel-like and stout, it made anything below harder to see over the body itself. Minion reached forward, aiming for one of the fictional books. The fingers touched the spine of the book, Minion not quite yet picking it up yet, trying to make sure he had a handle first. These fingers were different from his old ones. He put his other hand on the book as well, both sets of fingers bending beneath the book, with one digit each still on the top, Minion moving slowly to pick it up. Once it was up and in his hands, he sent Prixlezub a glance to see if he was watching. Back to the book, he balanced the book in one hand and opened it up with the other, to no specific page. He pushed the paper of the next page until a small 'air bubble' began to form, at which point he pinched the page with his digits and turned it, repeating the action and flipping a few more pages as well.

"The arms and fingers definitely work!" He skimmed the book for a moment before turning back to Prixlezub, grinning.

Indeed, the fish did have a very commanding air. Prixlezub nodded slowly in agreement with Minion's surprised remark, before curling his neck back like a cat would when reclining. The demon's proud rumble jostled the air, vibrations rippling through the cave stone, "Yes, you do. Before this, you seemed to walk around in a more doddering fashion, firm on your feet but with no real sense of power or command. Now, you stand so tall, so strong." The prince added. "You look more the part of an independent than a servant to such a pathetic inventor."

And he did. Look how much might was in your fingertips Minion, and yet with enough precision to flip through pages of your book without harming a single piece of paper. Minion could do all sorts of things with this new suit, big things. Non-Nannyfish things. Who knows, maybe Minion could run his own lab, with his own underlings working for him when all of this was over. The demon prince bared his teeth slightly in an adoring grin, so the fish did not have a commanding air before, hm? It looks like it may be time for a change for the space fish then. Prixlezub allowed a small plume of smoke to roll from his grill, tainting the air around him black before it dissipated amount the shadows of the cavern ceiling.

"It feels good, doesn't it?" Prixlezub remarked with a low purr. "You no longer have the aura of a Nannyfish about you. Instead of being ordered around, you could order others, followers to your commands. The most loyal can answer to your beck and call, and even those with less serious devotions would know better than to take your orders for granted. With such an aura, you don't have to worry about the broom or iron, no one would be so foolish as to try and push into such a role." He mused, almost as if he were describing a legend, a mystical power obtained only through the means of the fish's current appearance. "I suggest you use it well, the change to your outer self can dictate not only how you carry yourself, but others as well. But above all, in order for others to believe it, you must as well."

And with no ties to a master, Minion could certainly back up his new-found change. If he decided not to follow such a path, the fish could indeed return to working for Sonia at her shop. Not exactly a Nannyfish role, but at the same time not as fulfilling as the fish's existence could be. The fish had the potential to be a mover, a shaker... He just needed to admit it first.

"Very good, your fine motor skills seem to be in line, and you are executing them quite well." The demon replied positively, glancing around the cave to see what else the suit could be tested on. "How about we test some strengths next, if you will allow it?" He nodded to a few loose rocks to the side of the cave suggestively.

The large stones varied in size, and probably in weight as well. A few of them were slick from moss and algae growing on them, but others looked quite rough and dry looking. An ample trial for the fish's new capabilities. Especially since the limbs the demon picked out were more industrial than aesthetic in design.

The rumble shook the cave a bit, and the water seemed to shift as well from it, and it drew his attention back to the demon, listening curiously. Had he really walked so...dotingly, before? Even with the original Megamind? He looked down, inspecting his new arms, imagining how much stronger he could be now, how much more independent. He could be his own person, his own employer, his own master!

He gave the book another skim before placing it back with the pile. He joined his fingers together, noting the strength behind them. Perhaps he should change, to reflect his new appearance...perhaps he should become a stronger person, mightier. When all was said and done, he could do whatever he wanted. He wasn't even sure of what he wanted yet, but now was as good a time as any to find out. His eyes looked back up at Prixlezub, who began to speak in that manner that made Minion want to listen.

"It...it does. It does feel good." Had he really changed from being a nannyfish already? Was his aura already that much stronger? His eyes glanced to his hands again before looking back up at the commanding car demon. "I could?" Who would want to follow him, take his commands? Despite the doubt, he could not deny how alluring the idea was. How enticing. "Yes...no one could put me in such a role..." He had to start thinking bigger and better. To believe it, he had to do it. "I will...try to believe, Mr. Prixlezub." He so desperately wanted to.

He nodded, yes, fine motor skills seemed to be top-notch! It only made sense that it was time now to test some rougher motor skills, more forceful ones. He nodded again and walked to the rocks as indicated, gait still stiff and uniform. He flexed his fingers experimentally, before bending down and picking up one of the rocks, one large enough to be grasped in his fingers. He brought it up to inspect it, noting how if he turned it this way...it looked like Megamind's head. His lips quirked up a bit as his eyes narrowed, fingers flexing. The harder and tighter his grip became, the more he could feel the rock becoming more malleable in his grip, until with a sharp crack, it crumbled in his grasp. He turned his hand to the side, letting the pebbles fall to the floor and turning to Prixlezub expectantly, waiting to hear what he said on how his strength testing had gone so far.

"And try you may." The demon rumbled evenly, watching as the fish looked over his arms contemplatively. "Just remember that your choices will undoubtedly come back around to you, regardless of their intent. One path may lead you to self mastery, and the other can curl back around to where you began. If you are not careful, the paths will blur." Minion would have no further clarification past the demon's insight as he fell silent once more, smoke idly curling from his maw in place of carefully picked words.

The fish had gone through many changes during his relatively short stay with the demon prince, all of which quite interesting to Minion's new partner in crime. There was still some uncertainty, but otherwise, the fish had gone through a complete turn around regarding his master, and as for his latest discovery... Prixlezub was curious to see how the prospect of power was going to play into Minion's newest growth. Would he continue to feed his newly found discovery, or would it be tossed aside once the demon left him his freedom? The demon watched as his associate marched over to the patch of rocks he indicated to, looking around for the perfect stone for his test. With a gentle clatter of stone on stone, the fish chose his subject from the pile, a rather interesting choice at that.

Minion's choice of rock looked uncannily similar in size to the inventor's head, an amusing detail that the prince doubted was by accident. While the demon was unable to see the fish's face from his current angle behind Minion, the vengeful tension in the air was undeniable. He could hear the servos flexing, the small protests of stone as Minion's rock began to give way. Of course, what better way to get into the mindset of revenge than to project one's frustrations, and then violently vent them? The stone's final surrender to the fish's powerful grip echoed through the cave, and for a moment, one could almost believe it was bone that cracked in Minion's grip instead of stone.

Ah, but such fantasies would have to stay fantasies. While the demon would undoubtedly beam with pride upon turning the inventor's own assistant into his assassin, the fish firmly displayed that he was above killing. Though, after that display, was he truly?

"Very good." Prixlezub remarked approvingly. "With such strength, you could deal with your adversaries without the use of weaponry, if the suit had some modifications to it." He added thoughtfully.

Thicker plating, reinforcements around joints, and internalizing some of the tubing could not hurt either. However, that did not mean the fish could not defend himself against the everyday fool or thug. They could crumble as easily as that rock did in his grip.

The words of the demon again rang true. And he most definitely did not want for that to happen. No matter what happened after this place, no matter what else Prixlezub or Megamind would say or do, Minion's own path would inevitably be his own choice. He preferred it that way. He really, truly did. To let either of them decide for him would defeat the purpose of him becoming his own fish. "I'd hate for either of those last two options to happen...it'd make everything useless and...for nothing." All of this work...all of this progress...just for him to end up back in a kitchen? No, not this fish.

He had to admit, crushing that stone was quite therapeutic. Now, he could never really crush the skull of Megamind's impostor, especially since he wouldn't be quiet and submissive like the stone. The impostor would beg and plead. Minion was many things, but he didn't have it in him to kill a begging person, especially one wearing the face of his closest and deepest friend. The stone though, it did not beg. It spoke, but one word. Nannyfish! Again and again, he heard the almost mocking, 'loving' nickname. Minion treated up his wounds? Oh don't be a nannyfish! He spoke of Minion to others? Minion's such a nannyfish! Simple acts of care and friendship were treated like the laughable doting of a childhood nanny. Well lets see you laugh now. Lets see you laugh at the nannyfish.

The stone crumbled and with it, the voice disappeared. As he let the pebbles fall, he brushed his hands clean, looking to Prixlezub, like he found himself doing a lot these days. The approval earned the demon a wide grin. He didn't usually deal with adversaries much, despite his old suit being so bulky and strong. After all, their usual adversary was Metro Man, and he was completely Megamind's opponent. Minion helped, but Minion, suit or no suit, wouldn't last long in a fist fight with Metro Man. And the idea of having weapons modified into his suit...it was tempting. "Modifications would be great, but until then I am fine as is! There's no hurry." None at all. He looked back down at his arms before looking back to Prixlezub. "Anything else I should test out?"

Ah yes, the last thing the fish would ever hope for would be to fail, would it? Returning to a simple cleaning hand after all of his growth, his rebellion. Prixlezub nodded in agreement to the fish's thoughtful statement, his claws curled over themselves ponderously, while his gaze kept itself trained on his associate. "Not many intend to do so, and yet it happens as readily as the dawn and dusk. Do you wish to know their folly?" It was a simple reason, but on that was important all the same. "Carelessness. They become overconfident in their new lifestyle, and forget about outside elements. Stay aware of who you make alliances with, more often than not they may guilt you into their schemes. Much like the inventor, there are many impostors in the world that wish to take your bonds for granted, and use you for the rewards that your friendship gives."

Rewards like caring, helping, a mutual relationship that can quickly turn one sided. Instead of giving and receiving, there would be only giving, and what would be given in return? The mocking of the one you trusted behind your back, degrading belittlement. Did that sound familiar to you, Minion? Only instead of Nannyfish, perhaps they would find new words to call your loving treatment, Sucker perhaps. It was a hard truth, a dark truth, but a truth nonetheless. If Minion did not want to make all of their work useless, he would have to develop a very careful judge of character.

It did not take long for Prixlezub to decide what should be tested on the suit next, as he beckoned Minion over with a curling of his claw. "There is one last feature I wish to test on your suit, I had it installed as a special feature from the mechanic. I think you will find it quite useful." The demon rumbled evenly.

What was it that the demon had installed on the suit?

Prixlezub wrote:"Not many intend to do so, and yet it happens as readily as the dawn and dusk. Do you wish to know their folly?"

"I do..." Curious, he paid close attention to the demon as he spoke. Carelessness? Oh yes, that was a very common flaw. Stubborn too. Titan was careless, and look at what happened to him! Becoming comfortable in one's setting and forgetting what laid outside, forgetting that outside of their home they're nothing more than another person among a lot. No matter where the person came from, be it an apartment, a castle, or an alley, if one becomes cocky, with an over-inflated ego, they're usually setting themselves up to fail, by virtue of forgetting their limitations. He frowned as the demon went on though, as what he said did not paint a very pretty picture. Could no one be trusted?

Of course...if even what looked to be Megamind could not be trusted, his longest and closest friend...well that didn't leave a lot of options, now did it? "I don't really know a lot of the people that are here now anyway...the last time I was in the Sanctuary was January." And here it was now, October! Or perhaps November? And that trip into the Sanctuary had been cut mercifully short.

I've heard a lot of Nannyfish talk.

Megan acts more like ya his babbysitter.

He still should let us know he's okay!

He shouldn't have left with no warning.

    Megamind gets hurt a lot.

Megamind does get hurt a lot. All the darn time!

Why did he so carelessly leave them like that, after what the demon had done? To 'protect them from himself'. He tried to tell himself that Sir wasn't thinking clearly, he was just scared and hurt, after what happened. And yet by protecting them, he'd hurt them. Not just himself and Miss Ritchi, a lot of people. His fists tightened with resolve. "I don't think I'll enact an alliance with much of anyone anyway, Prixlezub, but I'll be aware of what you said, and watch who I trust."

The beckoning claw drew his attention and Minion shuffled over to him, looking up at him curiously. Another feature? A useful one at that? Curiosity peaked, he stopped in front of the demon obediently. "What kind of feature is it?"

    Re: No Blood Pact Required

Post by Prixlezub on Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:39 am

Amazing how the words of strangers managed to cut to the quick of things, wasn't it? And to think but a year previously those same voices regarded Minion is as nice of a light as well as Megamind. An assistant instead of a Nanny, adored for their victories instead of mocked for being downplayed so often by an ungrateful master. Really, the fish was better off without them. Their judgement changed with the passing day, and respect had to be beaten into their brains. The demon prince was well aware of the frequenters of the Sanctuary, very well aware...

"The people that frequent the Sanctuary tend to be the fickle sort currently, disrespectful and arrogant to their elders. I would not take their opinions to heart, for with a proper display of intimidation and force it changes just as easily." The demon remembered, his tone as unimpressed as the curling of his lip at the mention of the place. "Most of the fools there have since learned to watch their tongues since I have made an example of their frequenters, though there are still some who would rather tempt fate than be grateful with what they have."

The sentence of four such fools to the Pool was evidence of that enough.

As Minion approached, he may have noticed a charge that rippled through the air, one that disrupted the worms above to flicker as they confusedly experienced the foreign aura. Though, what was more to the fish's interest, was the demon's form, which began to slowly fade, until there was not a trace of him at all besides a slowly cooling pool of molten rock where he once laid. Oh, but do not fret, dear space fish, for the demon prince was still close by. He was not going to be leaving just yet, not when the final test was to be given. There was a flicker of fiery light from the demon's eyes as they cut through his arcane cloak, the white pupils focusing entirely on Minion. Beside him, a smoky claw manifested itself, rippling with an energetic aura.

The fish certainly would have recognized this feat, and just as quickly as the claw was raised, it was quickly placed upon the dull hide of the suit. Prixlezub held the robotic suit firmly in place, preventing any struggling should the fish panic about the dark energies that were now slowly overtaking his suit. They traveled like smokey serpents, winding about the limbs and body of the metallic form. However, they did not tint the suit in their darkness, but merely began to fade it out like the demon's body had done. His limbs were engulfed, the torso, and finally his legs until the fish was completely, and utterly...

    Invisible.

But what was this? The demon seemed to grin behind his veil as he commented. "I can still hear your suit functioning. Good, very good... The EMP resistors worked as planned." The demon removed his claw, allowing the veil to fade from himself. "You see, I remembered the effects my abilities had on you previously. To give you a new suit that still had such a serious flaw would simply be cruel. As a bonus to your new suit, I requested that the resistors be installed so your electronics are not as vulnerable as they were previously."

A fun surprise no? Though, the fish would undoubtedly notice the lack of dispersing that his own veil had done. The prince explained it to him matter-of-factly. "The veil I have given you is quite simple, but it can last quite a long while without my presence. It will last about two hours in all with the amount of energy I have given you, a few minutes more or less. Since you are going to be the saboteur, I believe it to be wise to allow you to gather your own materials for the job." The demon prince shifted his weight before getting to his feet, now sitting like a large cat instead of laying on his belly. "Megamind undoubtedly is still looking for you, but with this veil his efforts will be nullified as long as you still have it. The city already has a price on your head for you capture, but outside of it you are quite free to do as you wish. You may go to the Tech-Dome, as there are salvageable metals there. I will follow in disguise while you are there, in case anything goes awry, either from unwanted guests, or if there are any unseen bugs in the suit itself."

The mechanic he had commissioned it from was quite competent, yes, but there still was always that one factor: Dreaded, Murphy's Law. The demon looked to the cave entrance. "We should leave now, given the inventor's forces and the time it takes to search and travel this far, he more than likely searches during the morning and evening. To leave at this time would be a window between patrols." Prixlezub deducted thoughtfully.

Honestly, the words of those in the Sanctuary did not necessarily hurt. After all, in the beginning they had just been letting him know what had been said about him, what 'Megamind' had ever told them about him. And apparently all he told them was of how much of a nannyfish he was, and that honestly hurt. It hurt even more though, when the subject of Megamind's disappearance came up. All of a sudden he felt put on the spot, and judged.

Does he have any tracking device on him?

If he did, he probably removed it, if he doesn't want to be found.

...And you haven't installed another one on him?

Can't install one if he's not here to install it into him.

Megamind gets hurt a lot. Something to track him would be a good idea, in case he gets really hurt and can't move or something.

Minion cared for Megamind, and Megamind was his friend, basically family. But after that visit to the Sanctuary...he began to notice that things were different. He was not a friend, he was not family, he was a caretaker. His job was to take care of Megamind, feed him, cloth him, keep him safe. No matter what it was his job now, even in the eyes of others, to take care of him. Megamind used to be able to stand on his own. He'd had a fight with Prixlezub on his own! He'd gotten injured, sure, and Minion was the one to take him to the hospital, but when that happened, did anyone look at Minion and tell him he shouldn't have let him fight? He should have used trackers, which Minion wasn't comfortable with, to know where he was and that he was in a fight? He didn't used to get hurt a lot. He didn't use to have to walk behind him and make sure he wouldn't fall and hit his head. He didn't used to be his Nannyfish, or his babysitter. And he wouldn't be, again.

He looked up, listening as Prixlezub spoke. And how could he refuse what he said about the people now in the Sanctuary? Who among them had been in there recently...? Exactly. He chewed on his lip slightly, taking in what he heard. Disrespectful and arrogant? They never really acted that way with him...of course, he was Megamind's nannyfish, and Megamind was well-liked in the community. And as for making examples of some people...Minion had actually heard about Prixlezub killing Metal Man and a few others shortly before his kidnapping, from the Impostor. He had been really upset, since Metal Man worked for him in the lab with Jana. Minion had seen him a few times in the lair, but he didn't really know the young robot.

"I suppose for a demon of your stature, arrogance and disrespect are especially insulting to you." He commanded respect, and the penalty for not getting it? Ask Metal, Hot Shot, and Deadsilver. That was most likely why even from the beginning, despite what their battles had been like and how they had been on opposite sides, anytime Prixlezub had spoken to Minion, he was courteous. Minion wasn't arrogant, and he usually showed a polite amount of respect to everyone. It was just how he was, he was a bubbly, polite fish, but Prixlezub most definitely respected it, and respected himself now too. And trusted him. Thinking about those in the Sanctuary though, he frowned a bit. "Do you think we should warn them? About him being an Impostor that is...as disrespectful as they can be, no one deserves to be used by someone like that." Metal was a young bot, and Jana just a young girl. Almost as soon as he though of it though, he sighed. "Then again, they probably wouldn't believe us. They barely know me. They've seem to like him, they'll probably believe him over us." His arms crossed themselves, as he walked over to Prixlezub to see this special feature.

As he got closer though, he could feel a charge in the air, familiar, but he couldn't put a name or experience to it, although the demon's body disappearing drew a wide-eyed look. His eyes searched around, wondering if this was in fact some sort of test? Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a hovering claw drawing closer. He turned to face it, confused. He didn't seem to be trying to kill him, so what...? His eyes widened as he remembered where he'd seen this from and he began to flail, kept in place by Prixlezub's hands.

"What are you doing?! We just got a new suit!" He bemoaned, aghast that the demon would ruin something that took so long before with that EMP! He quivered a bit as the shadowy tendrils began to sink into and wisp around it, suit beginning to turn invisible from its efforts, just like when he had been inside Prixlezub's maw. However...this time...his suit was active. He moved his arm experimentally, yes, his suit still worked! He looked up to where Prixlezub's voice seemed to come from, so this was the special feature then? EMP resistors? "I must definitely applaud you on your ability to think ahead, Mr. Prixlezub..." He said, tone admiring. The demon was now visible, and he gave him a smile, although of course he would not have seen it now, since he himself was still invisible. It would stay this way even when not in his presence? "This solves our pondering on how I can be invisible to watch the fight, too! Although I don't think you'll have much time to cast this spell on me during your fight with him, so that's still something to think about..."

Wait...he wanted Minion to gather the supplies?! "You'd let me leave this place?" It'd be so long since he'd left these caves...he smiled brightly at the idea of it, even though there would be a purpose behind it, and in the end he would still have to come back. He frowned though, and spoke up again, tone curious, and anxious. "A price on my head?" Perhaps not the best phrasing. That was...strange to know. But it seems besides the city, he was safe. He nodded at Prixlezub, then realized of course, that he could not see it. "I'm ready when you are." Time to be productive!

Hurtful? The demon had never thought of the chattering creatures in the Sanctuary necessarily as hurtful either, but their opinions were decisively ignorant, almost deliberately so when the demon spoke with a few of them. Though, after his recent displays of intimidation and fatal prowess, such interactions diminished quickly. Not that the prince complained, it made his thoughts while observing the place uninterrupted by idle, meaningless gossip. In hindsight, it made the demon wonder why he even returned to such a place. Perhaps an unconscious desire for interaction, or maybe to break the silence of the desolate volcanic fields he called home. But really, the demon could have chosen better company than the fools he often observed. It was more like watching the birds fly about and sing their clipped songs than anything direct socialization.

"Indeed it is, and yet I find myself returning to such a place every once in a while." The prince rumbled, his gaze seeming to look past Minion for a brief moment. "Ah, but such people are not worth the warning. If anything they would either do as you have said readily, or decide you are the impostor instead. These people are used to the current state of your former master, and have accepted it as the norm readily. To try and convince them otherwise would be folly, as they know nothing else but him." They were unaware of the demon's previous rivalry with the inventor, or they preferred to shut out the entire experience as if it never happened. The old Megamind was but dust to them, and had been swept under the proverbial rug long ago, swept away and left to rot.

"Once we go through with this, he will either change in the eyes of his public when he returns from death, or he will be forgotten like the rest who haven't the strength to return." Prixlezub stated coldly. "Even then, the former path must be made on his own. We can only initiate such a change and watch to see what happens."

After all, nothing was ever certain when it concerned the many personalities of Portal Breach.

The fish's horrified surprise at the demon's test was not unforeseen, he had certainly remembered the first time that he came into contact with the demon's abilities and, well... "I apologize for the lack of warning, if I had gone about and told you of it, there was the risk that this test would have been over-complicated." In other words, sometimes the best way to ensure something worked correctly was to throw it out of the workshop and into the frying pan. The demon prince gave a short chuckle before replying to his associate's praise. "I am glad you enjoy it, the resistors are made for this sort of interaction, and for an advantage against the inventor should he decide to attempt to disable you in a similar fashion. If you wish, I can allow you my cloaking abilities before the fight, but be mindful of the time you have before it disperses." His pleased tone turned to that of warning upon touching on the subject of the cloak's time frame , all too wise on how badly the situation could turn if it were not timed properly.

Prixlezub nodded at the fish's excited response to the prospect of leaving the caves. "Of course, you are the saboteur, it is only fitting that you choose the materials that you will be using. You will get a chance to test your suit in more practical applications and become more intimate with the controls in the process." He remarked affirmatively. Though, while the demon could not see Minion's frown, he could hear it in his next statement. "Well, not exactly a price, but your former masters are looking for you. The reporter has requested that the city keep an eye out for you, and undoubtedly has probably gone through further means to ensure you are found if you ever return during their search if they are so intent on finding you." It made sense really, while the woman kept an eye out for their Minion in the confines of the city, the inventor scoured the places that her broadcasted eyes could not reach.

Upon hearing that the fish was indeed ready to go and gather his required resources, the prince deliberately leaned his head down until his pointed crown was within reach of the fish. The rest of his body was quite hot, too much for the short time it would take to transport Minion through the rougher terrain. "Climb on, and hold tight. I cannot afford to slow for the terrain we are about to face." The prince suggested, awaiting his associate's seating. Though the tines were sharp and curved, the spaces between them could easily seat a passenger in each, and their temperature was much cooler than the rest of the demon's body.

Prixlezub continued to go to the Sanctuary, despite how he disliked the people there, and it seemed Prixlezub himself was not entirely sure why. "A need for interaction, a curiosity for the state of Portal Breach. Its definitely a good place to go to learn what's happening around the place. And besides...its easy to get that respect back. Especially for a big demon like you, Mr. Prixlezub!~" Kill a few robots, instant respect. Death may be temporary here, but death was painful. And Minion had heard that it wasn't something that lasts forever, that eventually, you run out and die permanently. That was a tricky game to play. A gamble he'd never bet on.

He frowned as Prixlezub went on, but not necessarily at the demon. More, at what he implied. The others didn't 'deserve' to be warned, and they wouldn't believe him anyways. He was right. They are used to him and the few who remember Megamind have forgotten and remember him instead. The Impostor was someone they knew. Minion was a stranger to most, an acquaintance to some. Possible friend to a few more. "You're right...I'll just leave it alone, in that case." The best decision he could do. And who knows! Maybe eventually people would wisen up.

Prixlezub brought up the possibility of change. Perhaps, if Megamind had changed enough and proved himself to be the real Megamind after all, Minion would return to him. However, Minion doubted it. Minion didn't want to go back. Minion was on a path he would continue. "What if he comes back, but doesn't change at all? Would you kill him again until he either changes or stops coming back?" Impostor or not, this one could be stubborn. Hard headed. Dying once might not get the message through.

The surprise and horror had been waved off as Minion surveyed his invisible body with a chuckle. "Its alright! It was a good way to test the resistors out." This was a most pleasant surprise, and such foresight! Not just in the case of Prixlezub's accidental damage to his suit, but it seemed he had thought of the possibility of Megamind having an EMP. "That makes sense. I think he could have a few weapons like that." He wouldn't be surprised. He smiled as Prixlezub told him he could use the power to cloak him before the fight. "That's great! He won't know what's even happened to me either, or where I've gone! Just in case it might wear off before the fight ends, I'll find refuge behind something, out of sight." It'd be very inconvenient to suddenly appear in the middle of the fight, not to mention distracting.

"It will definitely be interesting to invent with these hands...I'll practice a bit to get used to them first, so I don't cause something important to blow up!" A saboteur must know their tools, it was only natural! And what better way to know your tools than to create it? The demon elaborated on the price on his head and he still frowned. "I see." If she'd made a news report about him missing, did it mean they might really miss him...might really want him back?

Or did it mean they wanted their Nannyfish...and wanted the attention and sympathy elicited from finding out their 'friend' was missing? To have their butts cupped and stroked, and to be told 'its okay, he'll come back, you're a great guy, why wouldn't he come back?'. In other words, the things he used to do whenever the inventor got mopey.

He blinked as the demon bowed his head so that the horns on his head were within reach and he stared, not realizing at first what was intended. Until prompted of course. "Yes sir!" He grabbed hold and pulled himself up, admiring the cool, sturdiness of his horns and settled down into the crux of one part, so that he was seating. He kept both arms and hands stiffly on the horn, holding himself steady. Realizing he was still invisible, he called out to the demon. "I'm on, I'm holding tight, and I'm ready!"

Indeed, what would happen if the alien came back with little to no change in his demeanor? Prixlezub paused for a moment in thought, before replying with a small huff of smoke. "As much as I would rather have an old rival back than a pale shade of their former self, there is no point in pursuing a goal that is unachievable. One death should be enough to right him, as it has done for many others. I will allow them their existence unless they decide to cross my path with their pathetic self." Such a weak, simpering creatures never last long within the demon's presence. "If he fails to learn from a second death brought on by their own stupidity, I may seek them out simply to rid them of such suffering." The prince added venemously, a toothed smile warping his features.

Once Minion was securely on his horns, the demon stood up, molten rock falling from his claws and hooves as he made his way towards the cave exit. As Prixlezub traversed the mountain tunnels, his glowing fire dimmed, until even his eyes could no longer be seen in the murky dark, and his thundering footsteps fell silent. For a long few moments there was not a sound nor sight of the demon, until six winking yellow eyes glowed dully within the murk, and arcs of stray electricity crackled just underneath them, revealing jagged teeth and a wide, fish-like mouth as the demon finally exited the mountain caves. Though he hardly looked like himself anymore.

In the place of the crimson demon was now a beast from hunts past. It's serpentine form, covered with a thick hide drifted upon the air currents as it gained altitude until it was above the treeline. In the afternoon sun, it was evident the creature was none other than a Leviathan, a great beast from Lawrence's old world that the demon had fought a couple of times before. Prixlezub's now fish-like head looked from side to side upon its vista of air currents, before quickly curling and swimming through the atmosphere. It would not take long for the duo to reach their destination on the horizon, the vast sea of sand known as the wastelands.
