"Happy Halloween, Tally," said Link as he watched the woman disappear down the hall. "Say hello to Ttone and Sonia for us."

And with that the florist was gone and their group's mini-Prix made short work of sorting the candy. Whilst all four of them do like sweet things, by the level of eagerness the older Link was displaying it seems pretty obvious who had the biggest sweet tooth out of their lot. It's this like this that this Link would smile and the back of his mind would wonder if he was brought up even a tiny bit differently, would he be as free-spirited as the innkeeper was. After all, there must be some sort of a personality connection somewhere with both being the bearers of the Triforce of Courage.

Candy sorted, Link stepped aside to let the older boy lifted up his pet then promptly blinked as the innkeeper suddenly dashed off. He glanced at Sheik then at Impa before pulling a resigned and amused smile then picked up the ends of his robes and ran.

By the time he reached the bottom of the first flight of stairs, he had a renewed respect for Zurg. Robes are not as easy to run in as they look!

They had no idea who burst out into the street first but they were all undoubtedly a few levels of satisfaction higher than they were a few minutes ago. Link chuckled, letting his breath come out in white puffs in the cold air then pulled out his map and studied the next circled location with Tatl's glow to assist his reading.

"It's Leo's next," he noted aloud, tucking the map back into his costume then with one last check that his wings were still intact and haven't started drooping from weight, he started forward, leading the group down the streets of the district's outskirts.

Once all four of them had said their goodbyes to Tally, Impa watched as the three children promptly went about splitting up the candy that the fighter had so generously given them. She couldn't help but laugh softly at how readily they took care of it, right before watching as the future Link went about hoisting up the costumed Ganon. At least the pig would be able to enjoy the rest of their evening and catch a bit of a break… or so it seemed at first, considering that his owner shifted his stance to a rather telltale one.

Ah yes, time for one of his trademark races… and it looked that despite their own detailed costumes, both Zelda and the Link from there time were all too happy to join in on the fun.

Keeping her own position as Link, Zelda, and Link all set off on the race down the stairs of the apartment complex, Impa simply followed behind them at a relaxed walk, watching to make certain that they did not trip up given their different attire of the evening. She had gone down to the second level of units of the building once the three had reached the bottom and bolted outside, and she could not help but beam at just how happy they were. It appeared that the future Link had won this particular race, but regardless, all three children were even more invigorated from this, and the Sheikah was just pleased to see them having even more fun together.

Moments later, Impa suddenly appeared behind her three charges, soon smiling and nodding to them as they all got set to continue on to their next stop. Once the younger Link announced that Leo's house was next on their map, the Sheikah moved to the front of the group again to help lead the way to his place.

Some time later, once they had made their way towards 20 20th Avenue, Impa fell to the back of the group once more, waiting patiently as Sheik moved to ring the doorbell of Leo's house. Hopefully their timing here would be good as well… regardless, the simple decorations of the abode were certainly pleasant to look at. The Breach certainly went all out for this fun and interesting holiday… that much was certain.

From the side of the porch he watched, three little trick or treaters and their care taker. Oh. They were coming to his house were they? That's it, up the stairs you come now, ring the doorbell....

    Rrr-RRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Wearing a hockey mask the man appeared on the side of the porch and brandished his chainsaw. None of them would be able to see it, however the teeth of the saw had been previously removed, rendering it harmless. Still, it made a rather scary noise now didn't it? And what was Halloween without a bit of scaring? Stepping up onto the porch the masked man carefully avoided knocking over the jack-o-laterns that covered the porch.

The man removed his hockey mask, revealing himself to be not a weirdo with a chainsaw, but instead Leo.

Happy Halloween you three. Hi Impa.

Having rung the doorbell, Sheik waited in between both of the Links for Leo or one of the other residents to appear at the door. A couple of seconds later though, instead of the sounds of the door being unlatched, a strange mechanical noise caused the disguised princess' ears to perk up slightly. It was close, coming from the side of the porch, and as she turned to look to see what it was, the noise only intensified to an intimidatingly fierce growl. And it was wielded by… what in the name of Din was what?!

"AAH!" exclaimed Sheik at seeing just what was causing the sudden noise.

A masked man stepped forward, brandishing a spinning blade and edging menacingly toward the group. With a quick look to Impa, Sheik noticed that her guardian didn't move a muscle, instead simply eyeing the person as he neared them. The disguised princess however instinctively took a defensive stance, just in case if this person did decide to attack. She trusted the Sheikah's sense implicitly of course but one thing that she had learned very well was never to let her guard down. As she moved her own club slightly, she couldn't quite get a feel for what intentions the masked man had… all she could tell was that he was definitely approaching them, and that his mask resembled a strange cross between the Spooky Mask and Link's All-Night Mask.

Had Sheik ever actually seen a chainsaw before, she might have been a bit more startled, but she had been plenty surprised both by the appearance of this man and then again once he removed his mask. It was Leo! Wow… he was definitely getting into the spirit of things this Halloween! Grinning as she let her posture relax, Sheik nodded to him at his greeting. "Hey Leo, Happy Halloween to you too! That's a very convincing costume you've got! I like it!"

For all the months (maybe year?) he'd been in the police force working with Leo, Link can't say he'd ever been to the fellow officer's house before. So it was with added curiosity that Link meandered down the street and up the pathway for the house. So this was where Leo lived. Well, it seems like he was just as much in the Halloween spirit as Jo, Zurg and Lawrence was if the jack-o-lanterns were anything to go by.

Link took a spot to the left of the door, making sure his wings weren't in the way of Impa and that each movement wouldn't smack the wing ends across the back of his friends' heads.

Tatl shrilled in alarm at the odd sound that suddenly came from the other side of the door. What was THAT? It's coming closer to! Heavy machinery? No wait, it's not a sound he knew at all! What was...

Just as as Link was about to reach for the door handle in hopes it'll be unlocked and he could go in and find the cause oft he noise, the door swung open and all the boy and his fairy could do was gape for a good two seconds then without a second thought, stepped in front of his friends even before realising he didn't have his shield with him.

When the man reached up to his mask, this Link tensed, knees getting ready to jump backwards and knocked his friends out of the wa--OH HI LEO!

"Leo!" snapped Tatl irritably before the bat-costumed Link reached up and grabbed her out of the air to shush her. Link laughed weakly at first then ended in a chuckle. "What are you dressing up as, though? I don't remember seeing anything like it before," the boy added once Sheik said her part.

As they made their way to Leo's house, Ganon the costumed pig had been carried, set down, carried, set down, carried and set down multiple times. With all that additional exercise and effort from hauling the round pig around, you really do wonder why Link decided to bring Ganon along in the first place. It wasn't like the young boy had never been trick or treating before so surely he knew to expect the amount of walking involved. But Ganon came along anyway with the Mini-mini Prix now snorting up a sulk which was from a combination of the humiliation of bering carried and also the beginning of a suspicion that this chilly trip out into the dark streets was its master's way of exercising a few pounds of its little pork belly.

Finally, at Leo's porch, the pig decided enough was enough. It was tired, it was embarressing being held aloft upside down like he was an object instead of a dignified pig. It's trotters were cold, it's snort is sniffling wet and it just wanted to curl up in front of a heater back home with a dish of apple chunks to nibble on. This house! Yes, he'll beg entrance to this house and rest here. Carry on, you mean master! Leave this piggie here and go on your way. You can pick him up on the way back. Go--

"Squuuuiiiir!!" mini-mini-Prixlezub squealed in alarm as the door swung open to reveal a masked man brandishing a terriible sounding weapon. The pig squealed, and dashed for it, knocking his master aside and backwards as it barrelled into Link's legs.

"Gwa!" yelped the boy, suddenly finding his priorities shifting from the masked man answering Leo's door to his pained backend as he landed. Pain aside, he gaped at the machine weapon handling man. What should they do? Take him down and save Leo who is (SURELY) trapped inside? Call the police/ISOs? Stab him with one of the fake horns of his Prixlezub costume? LEO!

The innkeeper stared then broke out into chuckles as the other Link did as well. Right, Leo won the scariest costume hand down this year. No beating that. Link got back to his feet again, dusting the back of his red costume then brandished his 'Trick or Treat' sign for the umpteenth time that night.

Meanwhile, Ganon the pet pig lurked at the bottom of the drive, half hiding behind some fencework and glared ruefully up to the porch. Hmph, it wasn't afraid at all!

Whilst her three charges had all startled to varying degrees at the sudden appearance of the buzzing-blade-wielding man, Impa simply kept a sharp eye on him. Even before he had fully shown himself to the group, blank mask and all, she could tell that he was Leo. Although the two had not been around each other much lately, she knew him well enough by now to be able to sense him if he was near… and once he made his grand entrance, her Eyes of Truth saw through his disguise, right to a certain former police officer.

Very nicely done, Leo. This definitely got a Sage of Shadow stamp of approval.

Almost as quickly as he appeared, he removed his white mask and greeted the quartet, soon causing the three kids to laugh some before replying to him. Tatl might have got a bit irritated at him, but despite that and Ganon's own surprised reaction, everyone seemed to be fine now. The four Hyruleans might not have known exactly what he was dressed up as or what exactly the chainsaw was, but regardless, he had dressed up in a simple yet very impressive costume.

"Hello Leo, it's great to see you," said Impa, smiling and nodding to him. "I trust you've had a good night thus far?"

"Hey Leo, Happy Halloween to you too! That's a very convincing costume you've got! I like it!"
Leo grinned at the unfamiliar boy, had he seen the other before? Possibly, though he couldn't recall a name to match the face at the moment.

Thanks He said, offering the bowl of candy to the three youths as he turned to answer the ex junior officers question.

    "Leo!"
"What are you dressing up as, though? I don't remember seeing anything like it before,"

Hello Tatl, Leo greeted other with a amused grin. And i'm Jason, it's a...well he's a character from a scary movie from my world. Crap, they had all been on Portal Breach long enough to know what movies were right? Leo wasn't confusing anyone was he?

Leo turned from the ex junior officer to look at the other Link and his pet pig, both of whom were dressed up to look like a very infamous carmorph demon. The overall effect was much more amusing that Leo would have thought. Hey there Link, sorry I scared your little friend, is he going to be okay? Leo motioned to the dressed up pig. Then, he turned his attention to the childrens guardian.

Nights been pretty good so far. Alex took Kat out for some trick or treating, I'm just glad the weather turned out nice for the kids is all. Cause nothing was worse than having to be stuck at home because it was too cold or too wet to go out and trick or treat.

Nodding to Leo at his grin and thanks, Sheik exchanged a glance with Link and Link before the three of them collectively moved to take their own pieces of candy from the offered bowl. Once they were all set, she looked back to the former officer at his reply, making a mental note to look up who this Jason character was. The three Hylian kids had definitely become better versed in what movies were since each of their respective arrivals, and even though they did not watch them as frequently as Leaf watched television (or even as often as others watched such screens), they did enjoy them from time to time.

If this Jason character was an indicator of how scary the movie itself was, Sheik did find herself wondering if it could really be classified as a horror story… then again, maybe this was another instance where their being from a different world entirely helped lessen the potential scare factor of things. It didn't mean that Leo's costume was not scary of course, but she was not sure if it had as strong as an affect on them as it might have on kids from a more modern world.

At least his night seemed to have been going pretty well thus far. She did smile a bit at his mention of the weather, and as their own farewells were exchanged around their getting set to head back out into the night, Sheik waved her own goodbye to Leo. "Take care!"

From there, the disguised princess felt her own excitement rising further. They had already made some very impressive progress throughout the city, and their next trail of houses and apartments was set to lead them up towards their final destination of the night… Kev's house! With Impa leading the way and her two best friends at her side, Sheik had a strong feeling that their already great night was only going to continue to get even better.

Grinning to both Sheik and Link as Leo held out the bowl of candy for them, Link got set to get his own candy, depositing it in the bag before looking back up to Leo as he answered his question. Wow, now that was pretty cool! Link had seen a good number of movies since he had arrived here, but he had not seen too many scary ones… and certainly not any with some mask-wearing guy named Jason in them. "Ah, I see… it's sure scary enough even out of the movie! Great job!"

Like both Sheik and the other Link, he too had been a little startled, but their coming from Hyrule once again served as a bonus in keeping them from being too scared by this very convincing Jason. The mythical kingdom definitely gave all four of them some advantages at times, including some unexpected ones!

"Hello," greeted Tatl, still sounding a little miffed but still managing to bob slightly to the former officer from where she was in Link's hold. If nothing else, she figured the nicer she sounded here, the sooner she could get free from his grasp.

Link grinned when Leo confirmed that the night had been pretty good for him, as well as when he noted that Alex took Kat out to go trick-or-treating. He had kind of been wondering how they might handle that tonight, but it was good to hear that they were able to get out and enjoy the holiday. Leo seemed to be having fun too, whether it was just staying here or even jumping into character with his costume. Nodding at the comment about the weather, Link could not help but think that he was definitely right. It was a little cool but not freezing as well as nice and clear! Perfect for Halloween!

As they got set to head on their way, Link waved to Leo and called, "It was great to see you Leo! Happy Halloween!" With that, the Hyruleans were off once again, set to continue on the next path that their map had laid out for them. They just had the next row of houses to get, then they'd be in the next neighborhood, and then they'd be even closer to their final destination of the night! Boy was Kev going to get a surprise at seeing them all the way out in Lovers' Meadow! Link couldn't wait!

This Link didn't know this Jason character either and that's saying something considering he shared the same living space with a television addict fairy who had no shame in babbling about everything he watched. But one look at the menacing faux weapon prop in Leo's hands and his interest was piqued. It's a rather mean looking weapon even without the chains, he could imagine how incredible it must be fully functioning. But it was also loud. How can it be scary if it's that loud? It makes the creeping up bit of the horror movie program a bit hard to do, isn't it? Maybe he should get Leaf to keep an eye out on this Jason movie and buy some cookies to watch it with, if only just to see the awesome looking weapon.

Leo wrote:Hey there Link, sorry I scared your little friend, is he going to be okay?
Link snickered and waved aside the Leo's concerns before pointing down to the pig and answering with a thumbs up. The mini-mini-Prix is fine, just startled and undoubtedly sulking a bit because his image (what image?) and pride was injured.

The innkeeper moved forward and plucked a piece of candy from the bowl, twirling it in his fingers so the shiny wrapper twinkled in the light, curiously examining his choice and trying to determine what kind of sweet was under the shininess. Candy in the treat bag, he smiled and nodded his thanks to the man, miming the other Link's 'Happy Halloween' words alongside the boy when he said it.

He waved goodbye to Leo, looking down the street and wondering if they would stumble upon Alex and Kat out on their candy rounds. They were in the neighbouhood, right? Whether they met them or not, they had to forge on ahead if they had any hopes of reaching Kev's cottage before it's too late in the night.

The groups Hyruleans made their way through the last fews suburbian streets of Portal City, treat bag getting steadily fuller with each house they visit. This Link was predicting he would probably feel sick afterwards eating it all... but it's candy!

At the edge fot he city, the six (pig and fairy included) looked down the country road to that would take them to Lovers' Meadow. Ganon snorted, snout pressed on the ground as he sniffed the foreign road to him. He was a city pig. He grew up in the confines of the inn and had only on rare occasions been brought out to the Grasslands to play when his owner tried to learn to ride a horse with Epon and the younger Link to teach him. This pig had still yet to encounter enough grass and mud to decide whether it liked it or not. On this occassion, the sniffing brought him just to the edge of the last of the city's lights, he took one look further down the dark road and squealed right back to the short innkeeper. Oh no, it's not venturing out there outside of the Hyruleans' immediate protection! Something might eat him in the dark!

The older Link laughed, bent down to scratch the piglet's back through the fabric of his costume then returned upright to help Impa light the lantern with a match. Shall they go?

Post by Impa on Mon Feb 25, 2013 12:03 am

"I'm glad to hear it," replied Impa, smiling a bit more to Leo as he confirmed that his night had been a good one already. Nodding in agreement with his second statement, she added, "Indeed. We could have scarcely asked for better weather for them."

The two adults visited for a bit longer as the three children took the offered candy from the former law officer, and after everyone appeared to be set, they all said their goodbyes, wishes of a Happy Halloween combined with promises to meet again soon. Waving her own farewell for now to Leo, Impa soon moved to once again lead the trio of happy Hylians as they continued to make their way through this part of Portal City.

In what seemed to take very little time at all, the four of them finished their rounds through the final suburbs of the city, and soon found themselves at the outermost edge of it. Once the older Link tended to the curious yet concerned Ganon, Impa nodded her thanks to him as he moved to help light the lantern she had carried for them. "Thank you, Link. All right then… let's set off and go surprise Kev."

With that, Impa, Link, Sheik, and Link all began the trek out across the plains that led out to Lovers' Meadow. It was a route that all of them were very familiar with by now, both for heading out to the wilderness for training and exploration as well as to visit their friends that lived out this way, and it was always a nice one to take regardless of the time of day. There was still a very good amount of moonlight to help show their way, and the stars were out in full force tonight, especially as they got further and further from the city, but the lantern was certainly a nice touch both for the particular holiday as well as the added light it afforded them.

Holding the lantern at a good angle for the three children whilst using her own excellent night vision around it, Impa led the way to Kev's house, and before too long, the cozy little cottage came into view. Smiling a touch more at catching the sight of the sleeping animals and the soft lighting coming from her friend's abode, the Sheikah walked around the stone fence, carefully guiding the three children though its entrance whilst making certain that it closed behind them to prevent the sheep and llama from venturing out regardless of the hour. They all made their way over the path that led to the front of Kev's porch, and with the Mini Prixlezub, the Silent Realm Guardian, and the Bat Demon all lined up as they had done so all night, Impa moved to knock on the door.

Hopefully, the Kryptonistanian would like his surprise Halloween visit.

Ah yes, Halloween. An odd night, to be sure, but one he was getting used to! Usually he'd spend Halloween in the Sanctuary, hopping in the closet to see what he would end up being spit out into but this year, he had a few plans. He and Blade were going to meet up and they were going to watch some movies together, it was very simple but would be fun to do! He had also gotten far more into making an actual costume this year, albeit cheaply made.

Kev's clothes were still the same, long sleeved blue shirt and black pants and boots, although his almost signature cape was missing! Instead, Kev bore a cardboard box, painted green and resembling a turtle shell. He had holes for his arms and legs, and around the top of his head, he wore a red bandanna. Kev the Adolescent Radioactive Karate Tortoise was on the job! Kev was still a little shaky on certain Halloween customs, but some he was getting a hang of. Costume? Check. Candy? Check! He'd bought some at the Supermarket, although he doubted that anyone was going to trick or treat as far as his place. If so, there was no harm in bringing the candy with him to give to Blade. He liked chocolate, right? In any case, Kev was relaxing, cradling a sleepy tortoiseshell cat in his arms who purred deeply. A quiet night tonight! Looks like Blade would be getting that candy after all.

    Knock knock~!

"Shally, did you hear that?~" He got a meow in response, and he set her down on the couch, grabbing the simple purple bowl up and walking to the door. Balancing the bowl with one hand, he flung the door open and struck a pose. "Who dares to come to the home of Kev the Adolescent Radioactive Karate Tortoise?!" The first one to be noticed was a young boy around young Link's height, dressed up as what he could only assume was Prixlezub! What else could he be? Next to him was a little oink-oink, also dressed up as Prixlezub! Next to him was another child, dressed head to toe in robes and carrying a club, it was quite a mystery who was under there, until he looked at the eyes. They glowed, and yet as he looked intently at them, he could see a familiar red pair of eyes looking at him. He gave the figure a wink and looked to the next one. The next young spawn was painted up, but the smiling face beneath the paint still shined to him. He looked the fearsome creature over, from the top of his horns to the bottom of his robes, seemingly unimpressed.

"Four little demons have come to the door of the Karate Tortoise!" He looked, at last, to the eldest of the group, who was quite recognizable since her costume was more pretty to him than something resembling another creature. "Impa, so you're the one leading these little things around!" He shook the bowl, chocolates rattling around inside tantalizingly. "Whatever could have brought you lot here?~" Kit-Kats and Reese's, Hershey's and Skittles, even a few M&Ms! But if you wanted this bounty, you had to say the magic words~! And no, this time it wasn't 'please and thank you'.

The trek had taken them a just a bit of time given the distance involved, but it was by now a very familiar path, and the journey seemed to go especially quickly despite the lack of warping involved this night. Sheik, Link, and Link readily made their way onto the porch, each of them smiling excitedly to the other both in anticipation of the candy to come and even more at the chance to get to see Kev. It was always great to get to visit the Kryptonistanian no matter where any of them happened to be, and it was especially nice to get to see him since he had returned last month.

Sheik had been lucky enough to get to see Kev a few times after his return, and tonight, she was very happy to get the chance to do so before any of his own plans on this eve.

As Kev quickly opened the door and appeared before them with not only a fantastic costume but a rather epic greeting as well, Sheik could not suppress the grin she wore underneath her mask. *SHINK!* "It is I, Guardian of the Silent Realm!" At their good friend's question, the by now well-rehearsed timing with both Link and Link paid off as in unison, they all three exclaimed/displayed the written text of… "TRICK OR TREAT!"

Once Kev had doled out the candy to the three of them, Sheik lifted the mask of her costume, soon letting the glow fade from her red eyes as she smiled to the Adolescent Radioactive Karate Tortoise. "It's great to see you, Kev! I really like your costume!" Pausing to exchange quick grins with Link and Link, she turned back to their friend, adding, "As for what brought us here, more than anything, we thought we might surprise you tonight."

The candy was definitely a bonus, but getting to visit a friend even for a little while would always be at the top of the Hyruleans' list.

Link did not know which of them was the most excited to make the trip all the way out to Kev's tonight. They all seemed to be in close company in that regard, and as they started to make their way towards the porch of the cozy cottage, that eagerness had only increased. Adding on to that building enthusiasm was the Hero of Time's own curiosity regarding what costume Kev might wear this year. The alien was certain very creative, and Link knew that no matter what he had decided to wear, that he would look fantastic.

Sure enough, the young hero was proven right as Kev suddenly swung the door open. As he expected, Kev had gone all out, showing that no matter what, you could never go wrong with creative use of cardboard on Halloween! His costume reminded him of the Great Turtle! Tatl simply chimed at spotting it, figuring to herself that at least it was far better than that chainsaw thing Leo pulled. At least Kev's costume matched his personality. "The Great Demon Batreaux dares come to your home! Ha-ha-HA!" With a dramatic greeting, an equally dramatic appraisal of his visitors, a nod to Impa, and a question of the kids, Link was prepared to answer the Kryptonistanian simultaneously along with Sheik and Link.

    "TRICK OR TREAT!"

And thus, the magic words were uttered that granted them candy. As soon as the treats had been given out, Link nodded readily in agreement with Sheik, noting,
"Yeah, you look great! And just because you're not in the city doesn't mean we can't visit you tonight!" On the contrary, the trip out here had been the perfect way for them to get the best enjoyment of this holiday!
