Looking Epic and Taking Your Candy

Post by Wind Waker Link on Tue Oct 30, 2012 8:39 am

    Time: 7 P.M
    Date: 31st October 2012

There was a heavy silence then the fairies shuddered as they tried to contain their feelings on the matter. Leaf, not quite built for holding things back and Ciela who figured it was perfectly in character for her to just go ahead and be blunt with it, finally stopped containing it and burst into peals of fairy laughter.

"He looks so ridiculous it's good!" Ciela chimed, tumbling down in the air ungracefully.
"The blade! Put the blade on the tail!" Leaf shouted, waving the cardboard blade up and down.
Neri, on the other hand, held back her giggles to voice a more pressing concern, "Are you sure his trotters won't be cold?"

The subject of their amusement, Ganon (Link's pet piglet - actually he's big enough to be lose the 'let' part now) stared up at them blankly as Link put his leash on. It was Halloween and Link, being Link, was far too in the spirit of the holiday. There were over a dozen carved pumpkins lying around the inn, little pots of candy on every single surface of the lobby, ghost decals on the window and cardboard keeses dangling from the ceiling. It was a holiday for candy! And cool spooky things! And pumpkins! And CANDY! Perfect reason to get into the festivities and dressing up, made even better by dragging the other Link, Zelda and Impa into it too!

And he even had the perfect costume in mind! It was either Barry the Chopper or .... Link affixed the silver sprayed cardboard blade on his pet's tail then clapped his hands, grinning widely at the perfection.

    Barry the Chopper OR....

Link reached past his fairies and picked up the rest of his own matching costume - a cardboard helmet with a mane of orange, red, yellow fur and carefully molded antlers.

    Barry the Chopper OR.....

Link placed the helmet on and MINI-PRIXLEZUB WAS BORN! Yes, you read that right. Dressed all in red, a cloth tail with a silver cardboard blade, hoof-like shoe coverings and a cardboard helmet/mask over a week's worth of cutting and gluing for the perfect car demon face with a fiery (furry) mane and nose ring. Just by wearing it, Link wanted to pose stupidly - you know, one of those epically 'cool' and cheesy poses that you wouldn't see outside of masked hero shows on T.V.

And beside him, lower down about thigh high, A MINI-MINI-PRIXLEZUB! Ganon, the pig, labourously buttoned into a bright red suit with small fake antlers tied to the top of his head, a cape of fire coloured fur and a small cardboard blade tied to his tail. Surprisingly, he tolerated the dressing up but the nose ring was refused outright.

Ciela was mighty glad she was staying behind and didn't have to fly beside them. Okay, the idea, concept and costume were good and cool but it was also ridiculous. Leaf would be all for go with them but was convinced to stay behind when he was told that looking after the inn would mean giving out candy to any kids coming by which meant he got to see a plethora of costumes from the warmth of the inn.

"We'll look after the inn while you're away," said Neri and Link opened his office door and nudged the Mini-mini-Prixlezub out into the lobby.

"Aa," replied the innkeeper, voice muffled by his cardboard helmet. He waved at his fairies as he made his way to the inn's front door where his fellow trick or treaters were waiting. Ganon snorted a greeting and Link waved, showing his admiration for the younger Link's and Zelda's costumes with a a thumbs up.

As the future Link came over to join her, Link, and Impa, Zelda flipped up the mask that was connected to the helmet of her own costume, grinning to her friend at his wave and thumbs up.

"Hey Link! Thanks, and your costume looks great!" called Zelda, giving her friend a thumbs up of her own even as she held her complex club in her right hand. Granted, she and Link had both seen the older boy's costume whilst it had been in the process of being made regardless as to how much he had let them help on parts of it, but the final product still looked amazing now that it was all assembled. And more than that, little Ganon was too cute in his own cardamon-inspired costume.

The disguised princess was even more disguised than usual on this night. Whereas last year, she had opted to dress up as a Gibdo, this year she chose to costume herself in the guise of an entity from Hyrule's past. Between a lot of fabric that Impa had helped her sew and glue into place, the mysterious material known as cardboard that Link had used to make his knight armor last year, and some other materials to help pull it all together into the look she was going for, Zelda had managed to dress up as what was possibly the scariest costume that anyone in their quartet was wearing.

    She was a Guardian.

Complete with the intricate club that she had constructed and the occasional spell she could use to make her eyes glow at times when the mask was down, she definitely looked the part. Zelda herself had never encountered any Guardians such as these, but from everything that she had read and heard about them, they were truly a force to be reckoned with. Virtually unstoppable and highly imposing, she felt that they made the perfect costume for this year… and regardless of how intimidating they were supposed to be, she did think they looked pretty neat. Hopefully her costume would prove to be even more of a success as the night went on!

Glancing to both Links and back to Impa, Zelda asked, "Are we about set to head out?"

"Hey Link!" echoed Link, waving to his friend along with Zelda. The boy shared a grin with Impa before glancing back to the mini-Prixlezub that was now by their side, barely able to contain his excitement for what the night held for them. He returned his counterpart's thumbs up, nodding his thanks to Link before adding, "That came out amazing! I think even Prixlezub himself would like it!"

"Not bad," admitted Tatl, bobbing up and down a bit as the older Link joined them by the door. Inwardly, the yellow fairy kind of liked the idea of hanging back and having something of a Fairy Halloween Party, but since Leaf, Neri, and Ciela were all going to be busy watching the inn, she figured anything like that could wait for now. After all… part of her did not want to miss this. She would never openly admit it of course, but she was excited for the prospect to head out on this trick or treating venture.

It was very true, the three Hylian kids had worked very hard on their costumes the past month, and the young Hero of TIme could say better than ever that every minute of it had paid off. Impa just looked awesome in her outfit, Link looked really cool as his version of the car demon, and Zelda looked simply amazing. He knew that it was his friend inside of that armored costume, but when the mask of her helmet was down and she looked at him at just the right angle, he couldn't help but get a chill down his back. He'd never even fought these Guardians, and yet he could tell just how intimidating they were! Link loved Zelda's costume, but in the back of his mind, he found himself hoping that he never wound up running into a Guardian here on the Breach. EVER.

As for Link himself, the Hero of Time had decided to dress up as another creature from Hyrule's past. From one of the legends stemming from Hyrule's beginnings that Impa had read to him, he had heard about a demon in the sky that longed to become human… luckily for him, there had been some artistic accounts of this demon, and so with a craftily sewn robe, some cleverly constructed wings and horns (made from the finest wood and cardboard, of course!), and some blueish-grey face paint and other makeup, Link stood dressed up as Batreaux.

Once he'd heard about the demon, the boy knew that he was a cool figure, and later he figured out that he would be the perfect disguise for this fun and candy-filled holiday. Speaking of candy, he nodded at Zelda's question, right before turning to look back to the Sheikah who was set to help take them around the city. "Yeah, I think we are… right Impa?"

When the Hero of Winds moved to join her and her other two charges by the door, Impa moved the black cloth that had covered the lower part of her face down around her neck, now able to show the lad the smile she wore at seeing his completed costume. With a strong nod to him, she stated, "You look wonderful, Link. I'm quite proud of the work you put into that costume… you've all three done an amazing job."

It was true that Impa had helped the three young Hylians with some parts of their costumes, but regardless of that fact, she was still brimming with pride at what their creativity had helped them make. From the diminutive form of the car demon that was starting to become a better friend of hers to the demon that had longed to become human to the imposing Guardian that marked part of the past of the first true hero of Hyrule, all three of them certainly looked the parts, and she could tell that this was going to be a very fine Halloween.

As for Impa herself, she was dressed in a far more traditional outfit, something that one of her ancestors had worn. She had actually let her hair out of its trademark short ponytail and styled it so that the longest part of her hair was in simple braid coming down to the right of her forehead. Her hair was still its natural white color, and the markings beneath her eyes remained, but in addition to her costume and styled hair, the Sage of Shadow had also painted a white teardrop mark around her left eye and a reddish Eye of the Sheikah on her forehead. She only truly knew of this persona from the lore of Hyrule and legends passed down within the Sheikah themselves, but Impa was in fact dressed as her distant ancestor, another woman who had also been named Impa.

The outfit was certainly not her standard one, but it still seemed to suit Impa quite well. More than that, it was comfortable and practical, and it seemed to fit right in with the costumes of her three charges. The Sheikah did not plan to get any candy herself tonight as she regarded the activity of trick-or-treating as one specially reserved for children, but even though she trusted the three of them about town on their own, she was rather honored that they had insisted she join them on this night. If nothing else, she was glad for the chance to see them enjoying their costumes as well as to get to see more of the decorations around Portal City.

At Link's question, Impa nodded to him with a soft smile, stating, "Mm, that we are. After you three."

At that, the Sheikah moved to hold the front door of the inn open so that Zelda, Link, and Link could all step outside with ease. They all seemed to be ready, and this was certainly looking to be quite the enjoyable night.

Link stared at Zelda's mask for a moment then reached forward to poke at the mask near the eyeholes just to feel the cardboard edge as if he couldn't quite believe it was the sheika--er...HYLIAN's eyes that were glowing and not the mask's. He let out a shudder then laughed. Really, the disguised princess outdid herself in having the scariest costume of the lot - Link imagined Tetra would probably do the same as well.

And the younger Link's and Impa's costumes were fantastic too. THIS Link ran a finger across the edges of the younger one's wings. The finished product looked so drastically different from its work in progress that he find it hard to imagine that mere days ago it was still a bundle of materials.

Aa! But look at the time! If they were to swing round to Kev's before midnight, they'll have to leave now. Come on! Let's go! Lightly he laughed and pushed his trio of friends out the door, making sure no costume parts banged the doorframe as they passed through. He nudged Ganon the mini-mini-Prix out the door and the pig snorted with displeasure at having to brave the cold autumn night weather when it could had spent the evening by the heater.

Once outside, Link handed out trick or treat bags and passed Impa the lantern alogn with bottles of lantern oil. They could had used a torch (actually it might be safer and smarter to use a torch considering the materials of their costumes) but the lantern suited the event more.

Zelda couldn't help but smile a bit more as Link investigated the eyeholes of the mask she had made for her helmet. From what she had read about the ancient Guardians, their eyes glowed an eerie, bright light red when they were awakened. She didn't want to have her eyes glowing the entire night of course, but here and there (especially when knocking on doors!) was perfect. It had actually be a very easy spell for her to figure out… after all, if she could turn her eyes red from their natural blue, making them glow was not too difficult from that.

Indeed, the three of them had put a lot of work into their costumes, and it definitely showed that every ounce of effort had paid off. And now was the time to shine as they ventured out to visit some of their friends and acquire candy! Laughing along with the future Link as he very enthusiastically encouraged them out the from door, the disguised princess happily took the trick-or-treat bag that her friend handed her. "Thanks Link. Let's head on out!"

At that, the four set out from the Stock Pot Inn, out into the cool, crisp air. Now that she was outside, Zelda was more grateful than ever that she had not only chosen a comfortable and somewhat warm costume, but that she had also taken extra steps to bundle up for the weather. The disguised princess had built up a surprisingly good tolerance to cold even without the use of warming spells, and she was pleased that all four of them would be able to have a comfortable night as well as a fun one. Even Impa's costume made certain that the Sheikah would not get too cold, even though Zelda knew that her guardian had one of the best tolerances to temperatures out there. Between their costumes being set, their attention to making sure to stay warm, and their very well planned out path, the Hyrulean group was bound to be the best prepared of any trick-or-treaters this night.

"I'm so excited! Last year's trick-or-treating and the party were fun, but I think this year will be even better," said Zelda, beaming even as she pulled the mask of her helmet down again. Indeed, last year had been great, but the three young Hylians had been determined to outdo themselves this year, and they were right on track to.

With the three kids walking side by side and Impa just in front of them with the lantern, the quartet began to make their way towards their first stop of the night… 4224 Monitor Lane!

Ushered out the door (not before he himself, in turn, ushered Zelda), the Hero of Time edged out sideways to minimize hitting the doorframe with his wings. His legs felt restrictive under the long skirt of this robe though and it was admittedly a little odd to not feel the chilly wind hit him in the knees.

"Do I have to pick up the back of your skirts for you? Don't shuffle, you'll ruin the ends," Tatl advised before turning to look at the lantern passed into Impa's hands. Well at least they're not relying on her to light the path though she couldn't see a point in the lantern when there were street lamps. She suppose it'll come in handy making their way to Lover's Meadow later on (as long as Kev didn't think they were Poes making their way up to haunt him in his cottage).

The young Link pulled out a map from the belt of his costume, unfolding it and Tatl quickly darted down to illuminate the sheet of paper. Not ones to do things by half measures, the Hyruleans had agreed earlier on in the week to cover the entire Residential District on their trick or treating expedition; a daunting task for ordinary children maybe but for well-travelled adventurers like themselves who clear dungeons in a span of hours, this was nothing. And again, like well-travelled adventurers, the map was redundant since they knew the area of by heart but the map did have numbers of them to remind them who they were visiting first.

Their first leg of the trip ended at Jo's house where they'd undoubtedly either get healthy snacks instead of candy or burritos instead of chocolate. They will go to all the [[NPC]] houses along the way as well, relieving each of their sugary food supply as they work through the area.

"Shall we go?" Link asked, smiling at his friends and putting away the map again.

Even though she had helped out with some of the planning for the night of Halloween, Impa was still rather proud of her three charges for all that they had worked to figure out on their own. From details on their costumes, to the most sensical route to maximize stops/the chance to visit their friends' places, and everything in between, it was already shaping up to be one very fine All Hallows Eve. She was glad that she had put her own disguise skills to work with her own costume, and she had to admit… it was rather fun to be able to dress up without the express purpose of trying to hide oneself in plain sight.

With as forward as the Sheikah was looking to everything, she couldn't help but look even more forward to it given the ever growing excitement from her three charges. It was tough to tell which of the three of them was the most enthusiastic about this night, although with the way he had helped to usher them outside, she was guessing that the future Link had a very slight edge here. As they set foot outside, Impa nodded her thanks to the Hero of Winds as he handed her the lantern. Given the excellent lighting in the areas that they were going to be traveling, they didn't exactly need it just yet, but she did feel that the object suited the event very well. She went ahead and added a bottle of lantern oil to it although she did not light it just yet. After all, it was best to conserve the oil for when it was truly needed.

As they continued further into the residential district, Impa smiled at the map that the younger Link pulled out, and as both the future Link and Zelda moved to study it as well. They all knew the area very well, but it was still rather sweet to see them so determined to utilize the map to add to the night. Whether it was a holiday or a quest, the four of them were undoubtedly adventurers to the core, and they were set to conquer this night as such.

Link, Zelda, and Link all made an excellent start at the various houses on the way to Monitor Lane, and as they approached their destination, it seemed that the excitement was only picking up for the three young Hylians. Once they had arrived at Lawrence, Jo, Zurg, and Proxy's home, Impa could not help but to smile a bit at the bit of Halloween decor they had out, including the very cleverly designed pumpkin leaf bags out near the front of the house. Hopefully the house's present occupants were having a good evening so far.

The quartet made their way up to the front door, and with a nod from Impa as she stood back and to the side from the younger set, Zelda moved to ring the bell. Time for the next visit!

Link peered into his goodie bag as he walked, grin spreading under his mask as he saw the tiny pile of candy gathered at the bottom. Tonight, they will feast on sweets!

So intent was he on counting his treats that he almost walked right into a lamppost!

"Gwa!" he gasped, swerving to one side and almost crashing into the other Link. The mask though Prix-tastic had the downside of creating more blind spots than normal vision. He can't see things at the corner of his eyes, nor anything above or below without having to completely turn his head so as to fit whatever it was into the vision of his eye holes.

Oh! They're turning into another house. Waaaait a second, wasn't this...YES IT WAS! Link could recognise the well manicured flowers and impeccable garden keeping (now with the addition of pumkin bags) anywhere! This was the house he'd ran up to with boxes and boxes of seafood!

The doorbell sounded out and Link adjusted his mask to sit juuuust right, straightened the end of his red shirt and readied his digiglass, the words 'Trick of Treat' already written on it in green font and a pumpkin drawn beside it.

Jo's house mostly had the yard decorations, but there were a few spooky things around the front porch. Like some fake cobwebs and a sizeable animatronic spider nestled among them, that would hiss and flash its eyes if anyone got close, and a few fake bats dangling from strings attached to the porch roof.

The door opened wide with a ominous creaking, and the first thing anyone would've seen was a pair of red optics staring them down... "Ah, more prey? Lovely..."

Whoever it was suddenly jumped out onto the porch with a swirl of a dark cape, then hissed briefly and reared back to pounce, only to stop short once he got a good look around. "Oh, you're all organics? This won't do at all; I'm on a strictly robotic diet! Eating all of you would simply ruin my figure~..."

If they couldn't figure it out from the voice alone, though he was doing his best to replicate a certain energy sucker's usual tone, it was Lawrence standing there before them. He was not as he usually appeared, however. No, right now he was wrapped within a black cape, he had a monocle affixed over one optic, and both of them were glowing red as opposed to cyan. He had his arms crossed under the cape as he stared at them all rather haughtily, but he couldn't keep a straight face for very long, finally just giving up and starting to chuckle faintly. "Oh my, you should see the looks on your faces . . . I do hope I didn't spook anyone too badly with getting so into character."

With the act now dropped, the butler took an appraising glance over the kids. "Let's see, we have a Prixlezub, a mini-Prixlezub, but I'm afraid I do not recognize the rest of you. Other beings from Hyrule, I take it? You've all definitely earned your candy, however." With that, Lawrence ducked back inside for a moment to retrieve the big candy bowl that was sitting on a chair near the door, then came back and held it out for the group. "Take whatever you like, but please only take one piece."

Did you all like the Halloween decorations~? Everyone was such a big help in making the Pistonne household really come alive at night! "Ooh, I hear trick-or-treaters!" said someone excitedly from inside the house.

Lawrence wasn't the only one eager to greet little goblins and ghouls, and the robot soon found himself company. "Ohhh...! What darling costumes!" Enter the mechanic, ladies and gentlemen, because Jo was absolutely fawning at how festive the guests were. Hey, you can't blamer her; she had never done this back on Tradeworld and seeing everyone dressed up was neat! "And a mini-Prixlezub and mini-mini-Prixlezub! Big Z! Big Z, come over here! Look what they're wearing!" She might not have recognized the rest along with Lawrence, but that didn't mean that they weren't equally awesome! As for Jo herself? She was a scarecrow! Well, a bit more grown-up and snug around her curves, at least...

While she was waiting for Big Z to arrive, that bellyaching man, Jo was beside herself with gesturing for the children to take a few sweets. "Go on," she smiled. "Like Count Suckula said, take any piece you'd like!" Because if you don't, then Jo was going to eat them and we all know how Big Z will take to that. Speaking of that, how was he going to take this?

"Oh, they're so cute! BIG Z, LET'S ADOPT THEM." She was joking, of course. They're all yours, Impa!

Oh, joy... Another batch of children at their doorstep.

Where there were two, a third was not far behind. While both Lawrence and Jo enjoyed their costumes, guess who was left out in the rain to sulk? "Oh, look," rumbled a flat, generic tone. "A miniature Prixlezub and Porklezub, along with two very interesting creatures." Impa was looking well. Here came Zurg, dressed in this dashing costume. There was one problem, however: it was meant for a woman! Long story short, Jo, over there, was supposed to be, ahem, Dorothy. But, curiously, she had completely ordered it for the wrong size. How do you order a costume for the wrong size, Jo!? You weren't 6'6" and covered in well-toned muscle! Oh well; Zurg, in this tight little thing, was still composed with dignity. He just... wore a disinterested look about him, his veil removed in order to make room for his pigtails.

"Your costumes are great - I especially adore the one in silver and gold." You were all lucky, by the way. Zurg wanted to give out fruit, for it was healthier for you. Thankfully Jo and Lawrence reasoned with him that candy was to be expected, and the monarch bought what he felt most children fancied. Something about peanut butter and caramel...

In any event, the guests were all allowed to take a candy apiece and the monarch held up his basket. "Look who came to visit us tonight, Homo." Yes, that was indeed a cat inside his little basket instead of a dog, and Homo peered at them all covetously. A little blue bow was tied lovingly around her tail, a bonnet upon her furry head. "Mroooooow..." She liked your costumes~! Zurg openly chuckled at both the cat's antics and Jo's outburst, clicking his ruby slippers thrice. "Don't worry," he told them, addressing Impa mainly. "Jo has been saying that to every child she's seen tonight." That explained a lot, actually.

Re: Looking Epic and Taking Your Candy

Post by Zelda/Sheik on Sun Nov 04, 2012 2:22 am

Zelda was set to greet whomever came to the door with a vocal version of what the future Link had already written on his digiglass, but as the front door creaked open, she felt the hair on the back of her neck start to stand up on end. Despite her excellent perception and her own currently glowing eyes, the sight of two red optics ahead of her did cause the disguised princess to raise her guard for a moment. Her instincts instantly took over as the figure jumped out, and Zelda had soon taken a quick defensive stance with her club ready… right until she saw who was here and reared up to pounce on them. Even with the menacing pose and very detailed costume, Zelda couldn't help but break into a smile behind her helmet when she realized that Lawrence was the one before them.

Although the butler had caused her to tense up for a moment, Sheik was very glad to see her friend in the Halloween spirit. He'd been so convincing, and it looked like he was just having fun, especially when he gave the quip about not tackling them as prey. Sheik had already relaxed her position slightly even before Lawrence started to chuckle himself, and even though her happy expression was hidden by the helmet of her costume, she did exchange amused glanced with both of the Links before turning back to the robot.

"Not at all, Lawrence!" said Sheik, laughing slightly in spite of herself as she lifted the front mask of her helmet. The glow in her eyes faded for the moment as she added, "You look great!"

As Lawrence looked over their costumes, Sheik pulled her mask back down and made her eyes glow through the helmet again. She nodded at Lawrence's question about the non-Prixlezub costumes, soon explaining "That's right. Link is a demon from Hyrule's past, and I'm an Ancient Guardian."

At both Lawrence's compliments of their costumes and his presentation of the bowl of candy, Sheik nodded, stating "Thanks!" before reaching out to carefully grab one of the wrapped chocolates in the bowl. In the year that she had been on the Breach, both of the Links had made sure to introduce her to all sorts of candy here, so she had definitely learned what her preferences were in the sheer variety that was available in the city.

Sheik's ears perked up slightly at catching Jo's excited words from inside the house, and her smile soon broadened a bit as the mechanic came out the front door as well. The same as the cozy abode, she was definitely in the Halloween spirit. "Hi Jo! I like your costume!"

It was all Sheik could do to suppress her laugh at Jo's joking exclamation… it was certainly amusing, but even more kind. Speaking of Zurg (newly arrived that he was), based on his costume alone, it appeared that he had got just as much into Halloween as Lawrence and Jo had, if not more so. In a way, the disguised princess was pleasantly amused to see Zurg dressed up in a feminine costume… it was effectively the opposite of herself, and much like her despite the difference in ways, he made it work so well! His praise of her own costume in particular caused Sheik to outright grin behind her helmet, right before she nodded, "Thank you Zurg."

Her night now effectively made thanks to Zurg's compliment and the exchanges with Lawrence and Jo, Sheik lifted the mask of her helmet again as the ex-evil emperor held up Homo in his basket. As the glow in her eyes faded again, the disguised princess carefully reached forward to gently pet the pleased cat with her free hand, greeting, "Hello Homo. You look great too!"

"They went all out, didn't they?" commented Tatl as her and the younger Link looked around the garden at all the fanciful decorations. The amount of cobwebs around reminded him of inside the Deku Tree back in Kokiri Forest and made him almost want to lift his head to check for skulltulas dropping down from the porch roof.

The door opened wide and his attention was brought back to the door again, mouth poised to blurt out the Trick or Treat greeting but instead he just froze and stared with wide eyes at the red glow.

What is... Tatl rang shrilly in alarm and Link was very much aware that his costume didn't have any weapons! Well, he had his sword underneath all the robes - hard pressed leaving the inn without it; this was Portal Breach after all - but it'll take him a while to reac--LAWRENCE!

"That's not funny. Link could have attacked you there!" Tatl huffed, calming down but otherwise deciding to reign in her snappy tongue.

The corner of his lips twitched into a grin. Heh. Hehe. He joined in the butler-bot's chuckling, shared an amused look with Zelda, the other Link and Impa before he straightened a little bit more with pride on the comments he gave on their costumes.

"You look great as well," said Link. He reached for the candy after Zelda, not particularly caring what he got since he had no favourites when it came to sweets.

Just as he withdrew his hand and deposit the candy into his bag, Jo emerged and Link gave her a broad smile, the fake demon teeth he wore pressed uncomfortably against the skin of his lip. The boy laughed at the mention of adopting them. "Hello, Jo. Are you a scarecrow?"

Not quite like the scarecrows he was used to seeing (they had a tendency to dance to music and emerge out of the ground in the most randomest places) but the colours were right. Again, he stood up a little straighter as their costumes were complimented especially so when Zurg came into view - my, that view had knocked his already quiet boy even more speechless. He really didn't know how to comment about it apart from, "It rather suits you."

He too reached over and patted the kitty on the head, careful not to mess up its bonnet.

"Let's go already, we don't have all night," pushed Tatl, bossiness not even affected even in presence of an audience.

"Thank you for the sweets. Happy Halloween!"

Re: Looking Epic and Taking Your Candy

Post by Impa on Mon Nov 05, 2012 1:53 pm

Impa shifted her gaze slightly as she detected some movement just beyond the front door of the festive abode. Given the feeling she had got right now as well as the way that she knew her good friend that lived here, she was fairly certain that Lawrence was going to be the first to greet them. Sure enough, as the door creaked open and an uncharacteristic pair of red optics stared out at them, the Sheikah could not help but to smile slightly at catching the sight of her friend getting so into the character of his guise. With a convincing greeting and a sudden leap out onto the porch, she soon confirmed that this was in fact Lawrence. Her own instincts had not set off any alarm bells, so whilst she had kept her guard up as she usually did, she was not surprised the way that her three charges and Tatl were. No, in fact the slight smile she wore broadened as soon as he continued his act, noting how feasting on non-robotic lifeforms would ruin his figure.

Now if dressing up as NOS-4-A2 for Halloween and acting like him was not kicking ones fears to the wayside and growing well past them, then the Sheikah could scarcely think of anything else that fit that idea. She was as proud of him for that as she was happy that he seemed to be enjoying the holiday thus far. Once Lawrence began to chuckle, Impa laughed a little as well, waiting until Sheik and Tatl had responded to him before speaking. "You're perfectly all right, Lawrence. It's excellent to see you, and you look wonderful."

Whilst Lawrence and Impa had been on the same teams during the Phazon crisis, save some random meet-ups around their times in the Sanctuary, the two friends had not had the chance to really get together in a while. They were long past due for such a time, but it was understandable given how busy things had been the past few months for the two of them. Hopefully with the holiday season fast approaching, they would be able to remedy that before too long.

As Sheik, Link, and Link took their candy from the bowl, Impa smiled again as Jo came out to greet them. Before she could do much more than nod in greeting to her acquaintance though, Zurg appeared as well. Even though the Sheikah had learned of a few more modern stories from other worlds since arriving on the Breach, she was not at all familiar with The Wizard of Oz, but even though she did not recognized exactly who Jo and Zurg were dressed up as, that did not make their costumes any less perfect. Her gentle smile growing just a touch more, Impa nodded to them, stating, "It's great to see you Jo and Zurg... and you both look fantastic."

Impa laughed quite a bit at both Jo's exclamation as well as Zurg's explanation regarding it, with his shoe clicking and all. Somehow, the Sheikah was not quite surprised by either, but the sentiment was still just as kind. "Ah, I see. Well I must say, while I do trust the three of them on their own, Jo is one of the few I would trust to look after them for any amount of time."

Impa did not know the mechanic as well as she did Lawrence of course, but from what she had learned of her from the butler and seen of her first-hand, she knew that she could certainly handle herself and just about anything else that came her way. If nothing else, her exclamation about adopting the three young Hylians was definitely quite amusing, and certainly one of the highlights of the night thus far. That, plus the great decorations and costumes at their house of course.

As it seemed that Sheik, Link, and Link were just about set to continue, Impa nodded once more to Lawrence, Jo, and Zurg. "I'm glad we got to see you all. You three have a Happy Halloween, and hopefully we can meet again soon." With that, the Sheikah was set to leave whenever her charges were.
