    Fancy Seeing You Here

The long walk from the coast closest to the underwater lair to the City might be exhausting for most people, be that was where Minion had an advantage. For one thing, as a fish, he didn't precisely walk. He swam, and oh could he swim, but his method of transportation from the lair to the city was walking. His robotic suit was easy to command, all he had to do was think of walking and the robotic legs walked for him. So although the walk was time consuming, there was no skin off his bones to walk like this. Besides, at this moment in time, the sun was beginning to set, and its light shining across the sky above the wastelands was quite magnificent to behold!

If he had been out walking to complete an errand, he'd probably take the hover bike with him. However, Minion was not out on an errand run. He was just out walking around, trying to do something new, like the last time he'd been out like this. There was a skip in his robotic step as he bobbed slightly in his tank with every movement. His robotic arms were folded behind his back and he hummed to himself a bit as he briefly closed his eyes, happy to just be walking around. It was nice to be out in the wilderness, observing nature. The sea was beautiful, but the wasteland had a beauty all to itself.

"I have a good feeling about today!" He said to himself with a chuckle. Time would tell, of course, just what kind of day today would be.

Alas, dear Minion, you were not the only one walking about the wastelands this eve. The barren expanse seemed clear on all horizons, yes, with the sun setting the sky ablaze as it set for another night. Though the calm silence, disturbed only by a desert breeze every so often, belied what lay within it. Further out, beyond where Minion was walking... Was nothing. Or at least, it seemed like nothing. If one looked closely, they would no doubt find light, glassy depressions in the sand, ghostly with their lack of owner. But whether there was indeed a spirit haunting the wastelands would be a question for those unwise of the resident demon prince. The demon's usually crimson hide was changed for the more subtle of intentions, not a flicker of mane nor shimmer of tail blade visible. All thanks to the demon's knowledge of shadow magics.

The passing winds quickly covered Prixlezub's minute trail, making it seem like he was never there. Just as he liked it. This way, the demon could still traverse where he wished, without the use of a disguise. And in this case, wearing a disguise would have probably made him seem suspicious anyways, he thought to himself. Yes, this way he could be fully left be, without a single soul daring to bother him. The prince passed by a few once were territories, sites of battles both won and lost. The crater that was left of Zurg's factory, a few sand dunes left of Moxxi's (and once his own) Underdrome, and a few others. Prixlezub dared not linger around the areas, the memories. He was well aware of them and what happened without needing to sit and stare at where they once stood. However, they were hardly regarded bitterly, but more in a certain fondness.

Nearly all battles were won, or settled in some manner or another. Late civilians, both rivals and pests, brought full circle. Moxxi killed at his claws, that Ergo fellow sent running for his life, his first (and almost winning) battle with the Evil Emperor... Even being arrested that one afternoon proved to be quite the event. And from them came numerous routes to boot. At least, save for one. A single name bubbled up to the surface of his mind, a nagging whisper; Megamind.

Three fights had been fought with the alien genius, each getting more and more extravagant with each encounter. Simmering emotions of disdain, scorn, and maybe even ambition. It was disappointing, no irritating, to see such buildup fall flat, all in the face of this new personality that the blue scientist had donned. Why had the man tossed away such confidence, drive, dare he say even courage... To replace it with the face of a kicked dog? There was not a single sign of valiant deeds from the man that he heard of, and even less so were his usual antics of vigilantism. Something had changed the man, but what? Surely it was not the reporter, he remembered kidnapping her once. The woman was damn near unshakable.

The demon's pondering was cut short, his head turning to a sound in the distance. In fact, it sounded a lot like... Minion? He had not seen the fish in months! Prixlezub put his nose to the air, the openings drinking in the wind and whatever was carried upon it. He smelled oil, metal, even a hint of the ocean on the faux fur of the fish's monkey suit. Turning in the direction of his new interest, the demon prince trotted towards the unsuspecting Minion, keeping his distance and veil as he followed him.

The Spacefish was unaware that he had company out there in the wastelands. As far as he knew, there wasn't another person around for miles! Which was just fine for him, he didn't mind some alone time as he walked to the busy, bustling city. The lair could seem a bit crowded at times, since it was himself, Roxanne, Megamind, and all of the brainbots. The robots were very sweet, but rambunctious as well. The peace and quiet that he could hear out here was welcome.

The surroundings though, made him wonder if taking a shortcut through this place was such a good idea after all. Didn't Prixlezub live out here at some point? He hadn't seen the demon in a while, but he remembered him alright. An intimidating car demon who wasn't just a brawny creature with no brain. He was clever. He was strategical. He commanded a frickin' army of creatures against himself and Megamind! And he didn't fall for himself pretending to be Megamind to allow for the real one to do something. And yet, Prixlezub and his one time accomplice were very polite kidnappers.

Unlike Prixlezub though, Minion did not quite enjoy those fights. Oh sure, there was some adrenaline pumping, and it was very exciting, but the stress wasn't as fun. Worrying about himself or Megamind dying was terrible, and he was honestly very relieved when he managed to convince Megamind to not pick fights with the car demon. Unfortunately, in exchange for him not doing that, it seems instead they had...nothing. The biggest thing to have happened was that Phazon, and even then, Minion could not help in getting rid of it. If there was one thing that he definitely missed about the days when he helped Megamind fight Prixlezub, it was that they felt so close. Working together in a fight to fight him off, planning together, building together...what did they do together now?

He came to a brief stop and frowned. Something had changed. But what? He couldn't figure it out. Bless his heart, Megamind was trying. But for a while now, Minion was beginning to wonder if maybe, Megamind just didn't need him anymore. He was married now, he had friends. Why did he need Minion? To be his nannyfish? He sighed and continued walking, still unaware.

A keen observation, as the demon did indeed live out in the barren desert not too long ago. Though, while his previous domain crumbled, a new one had been created in its place. Prixlezub kept his distance as he continued to stalk the lone fish, grinning beneath his arcane veil as his previous suspicions had been proven correct. A foolish decision, walking alone, especially in a graveyard of past evils. After all, you did not quite know which ones still haunted their old territories. Though, the fact that the fish was traveling alone was another point of interest in itself. Was his master so confident to think that one of his most prized companions could walk out alone, so far away from help, to be wise?

It seemed the alien was slipping more than he thought. The two were usually inseparable last time he had encountered them, there were a formidable team.

The demon's eyes burned attentively at the back of the robotic suit, infernal gears turning within his mind. That fish had been the fuse for one of the most extravagant and frustrating battles between himself and Megamind, forcing even the Demon Lord Ninetails herself to flee. As the demon prince was pondering over that fact, he noticed the fish come to a halt, ceasing in his own stride as well. It seemed that Prixlezub was not the only one with thoughts on his mind tonight. Though, the demon was done thinking over past grievances and battles, his mind turning a different direction.

Perhaps all the alien needed was a simple, little push.

The prince's disguise still held as he crept towards the unsuspecting space fish, flanking him with claws and fangs at the ready. There would be no double dealing here, or coaxing into warehouses at the promise of gypsy magic. No, those were the tactics of amateures, silly plans for the feeble minded. As he drew close, the demon's veil began to fade away, revealing a set of fiery eyes, unreadable as they stared down at the smaller Minion. As the rest of the guise faded away, the fish would find himself flanked on either side by large, crimson claws, and behind them over a thousand tons of demon prince.

"Enjoying your walk, Minion?" The demon rumbled, smoke curling from his maw in spite of the civil tone.

As Minion walked, he was beginning to get a feeling of being watched. Nothing too extreme, just that usual feeling you get, a shiver down your spine as it feels as if your surroundings just aren't safe. The tendrils on the top of his head were flared up as his eyes darted around, not seeing anyone just yet. He tapped his fingers tips together as his fins began to pick up their pace a bit, pushing the water around inside his tank at a faster pace.

"Don't be silly Minion, there's not another person around for miles!" He chuckled to himself uneasily. He looked again to make sure and yes, there was no one else around! No one to be watching him. He was just being a silly nannyfish. So then why wouldn't this feeling go away? He suppressed a shiver and continued his walking.

...Or at least he would if it weren't for the fact that a pair of giant, red, talons were beginning to cut him off, flanking him from the sides. He stopped walking instantly, staring at them as they hovered in the air, keeping him in place. Those talons. That red skin. Could it really be Prixy?!

    Enjoying your walk, Minion?

Yeah, there was no escaping that voice. It was indeed, Prixlezub. His robotic body stiffened up, as he turned within his tank, cautiously looking up at the demon car. Same fiery eyes. Smoke pumping out of his mouth like a train. Flaming mane, large impressive horns. Guess this would be the last time he thinks of Prixlezub when he's all alone like this. He accidentally summoned him!

His mouth pulled back into a somewhat forced, yet still friendly and toothy grin, looking up at the demon above him. "Ahahaha! Prixlezub! Fancy seeing you all the way out here! Its just like old times." His body backed up against the glass tank, robotic body still locked up. He hoped if his body seemed that it would not strike out, Prixlezub would not attack. "I was enjoying my walk, but now I think I'd rather go back home, its getting rather dark out here, you know? So I think I might just be on my way...if you'd kindly move? It was nice seeing you, but I must go!" It was worth a shot, but something told him the demon wasn't about to let him just walk away.

You know what they say Minion, Murphy's Law. The demon listened as the fish tried to swim his way out of his current predicament, reading his movements and tone. His fearful smile and demeanor did indeed keep him from becoming another of the demon's victims of brutal murder, but would it save him from what Prixlezub had planned? The solid, unyielding claws said otherwise, flexing towards him as if to remind Minion that there was indeed no way out from the crimson barriers. No other person around for miles, oh how naive you were to the world outside of Megamind's home. Perhaps the fish was experiencing some sort of change on account of his master?

Alas, once the demon prince heard all of the space fish's plea, he regarded the smaller creature before finally shaking his head. It seemed Prixlezub was not interested letting Minion walk back home. The prince's eyes illuminated the cornered Nannyfish in an orange light, further enforcing the idea of the fish being prisoner. "I'm afraid I cannot allow you to return home, as much as you desire to do so. I require your presence for intentions of my own, and I would much appreciate it if you would come willingly, and quietly." Prixlezub spoke, his tone courteous. "I also request that you do not try to call for help, or try and draw attention to your circumstance. It will be more of an inconvenience for them than for me, is this understood?" He rumbled, his question rhetorical.

Despite the demon's politeness, there was an undoubted commanding presence that ran beneath it. Prixlezub removed his claws from around Minion's radius, planting both claws solidly on the ground as his body began to fade again, the shadow magic enveloping his body until he no longer was visible to Minion's eyes. Though make no mistake, the demon prince was still close by. Under his veil, the demon raised a single talon, bringing it close to the mechanical body. The fish would not need to be vigilant to notice the evident charge that drew near, the demon's body producing an aura that seemed to mess with his robotic suit. In fact, it was almost as if the hairy, armature had been hit with some sort of disruptive pulse. But not just any, mind you...

    The dreaded EMP.

It seemed the prince had a few more tricks in his claws since they last met.

Ah yes, Murphy's law. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. And in this case that meant meeting up with your friend's long time ex-rival. Of all people to come across, it had to be him, didn't it? Such a curious thing too, as he hadn't seen the demon in so long. Of course, Minion himself hadn't been out of the lair until recently. As far as he knew, Prixlezub had been very active and the two just somehow kept from meeting up until now.

His eyes darted to the talons, closing in a bit more around him. He sincerely hoped this would not turn physical. His robotic body might have been sturdy, but he didn't have any special attachments or weapons. And Prixlezub was not an idiot. If he really wanted to kill Minion? If he had decided that he was in the mood for sushi? All he had to do was flick the tank and out Minion would come, flopping on the ground for a moment. And Prixlezub could simply grab him and eat him. Minion shuddered at the thought. He was one small fish, and Prixlezub was a large, formidable demon.

Said demon shook his head and his bright eyes came closer, as he spoke. In a tone not too rude either. But Minion regarded his fangs and talons again. If he dared to deny Prixlezub's request, it would most definitely not end well. "As you wish, Prixlezub, Sir! Oh, I understand. I won't call for help or draw attention to myself at all." Hopefully it wouldn't take Mrs Ritchi or Megamind too long to realize he was gone...was Prixlezub trying to reignite that old rivalry by kidnapping him? He had to admit, this method of kidnapping was more effective than when Prix and Ninetails had disguised themselves as gypsies and tricked him. Oh how foolish he had been.

Prixlezub's intimidating claws were pulled back, placed back on the ground as Prixlezub began to...disappear? Perhaps that was how he did not see him. It seems Prixlezub had gotten a few more powers since he'd last seen him. "I will follow you, I presume?" He wondered where they were going to go. Hopefully not too far away! Suddenly there was a pulse of some kind and in a matter of seconds, the robotic suit had been fried, Minion's eyes widening as he let out a brief yelp of surprise. "Oh no..." Unless he was mistaken, that was an EMP burst. He concentrated, trying to do something simple, just raise the arm, but of course, it didn't move. At all.

Minion had no choice in this matter then. "...Nevermind then! I guess...you'll take us to...where we're gonna go! Yippee..." His fins drooped a bit as he waited for the disguised demon to make his move. Oh yes, quite a few more tricks since they had last met.

The demon gave an amused rumble as he watched the suit become inactive, the fish's arms falling to his sides dead as the metal they were made of. While the demon prince did not fully intend on shorting out Minion's suit, it provided a convenient advantage nonetheless. He would have to look into this phenomena once he got the time to do so, he decided. For now, there was a certain blue alien to provoke. Prixlezub gave an approving nod at the fish as his fins drooped and he gave his half hearted reply, the demon focusing now on the flow of arcane energies. Keeping his claw close to the powered down suit, the energy, while hardly visible to the fish, was carefully transferred from his claw to the robotic body.

"I will indeed be chaufering you this evening, you need not worry about keeping up with me, nor following directions." He reassured, keeping his civil tone as he continued to transfer energy to Minion.

Within a few moments, the fish would find his body starting to fade, much like the demon prince had done so previously. The gorilla-esque suit soon would lose visibility of its limbs, as the shadow magic began to saturate upon the surface of the construct, until it finally swallowed up the water-filled dome on the shoulders. Once the fish was fully cloaked like his kidnapper, Prixlezub lowered his head, his maw open to reveal a disembodied set of curved, pointed teeth, and a bubbling pool of magma for the innards of the demon's maw. Tilting his head to the side, the demon prince gently picked up the fish by the front of his torso, careful to not dent or impale any vital tubing or plating. he wanted his hostage to be a alive by the time they reached their destination.

Lifting the robotic body off the sands, Prixlezub quickly moved into a swift gallop, the only evidence of Minion's encounter being a pool of cooling glass, soon to be covered by the shifting sands.

Well that was a bit reassuring. After all, could Minion even keep up with Prixlezub's long legged gait? Would he even have the patience to wait for him to catch up? Probably not. "Super. Lets go, shall we?" He glanced down at his robotic body, and gasped as it started to disappear as well! The disappearing came up and up until it reached his tank. On impulse, Minion squeezed his eyes shut and backed up against the tank, more than a little scared of this odd magic.

Soon though, he felt the very familiar feeling of being carried. Before this body had been created, he was usually carried around in a ball, so the slight bobbing motion as he was carried in Prix's mouth was familiar. He opened his eyes slowly, watching the wastelands zoom on by them, Prixlezub probably traveling very fast. He sighed within the tank, eyes forward to see where they would end up going. Wonder if this is how Miss Ritchi felt whenever she got kidnapped.
