Washu glanced over at K when the agent asked about Ryo-Ohki. My, my, was someone a little unsure of riding around in cabbit's spaceship form? She supposed she couldn't really blame him, given the only time he saw the ship was when it was wrecked in that crater. The scientist couldn't help but tease him a bit about it, though. "What's the matter, J? Afraid to ride in something a bit unusual? You've never seen her in all her glory, you know . . . we just went through a bad fight and lost, the last time you saw her. She's had plenty of time for repairs so you have nothing to worry about."

If she squinted when she looked up again, she could just barely see the spiky form of Ryo-Ohki off in the distance.

Even though it was not necessary for her to eat in order to survive, Ryoko did quite enjoy trying all sorts of different foods and eating to be social. Lack of tastebuds or not, eating was just fun and she was quite often in the mood to partake. Shopping for food on the other hand was another story entirely… that being the case, when Washu had decided to head out to the supermarket to pick up some things that the lab was not able to synthesize on its own, she had been less than interested, especially since it had been so early in the morning. Taking it easy around the lab and sleeping in had been a MUCH more enjoyable way to spend the morning.

Still, even though Ryoko was getting some very nice rest, she was still able to catch the message that Washu soon relayed to her via their mental link. Groaning slightly as she came to, Ryoko glanced over to Ryo-Ohki, who by this point was meowing and bounding all over the place in anticipation of heading out to retrieve Washu. Blinking to clear her vision and laughing slightly at the cabbit, the former space pirate focused on her mental link, responding to Washu.

Yeah, yeah… we're on our way. And what the heck do you mean by interesting?

    ---------

Some time later, Ryoko had directed Ryo-Ohki in her ship form en route to the supermarket. They were still a good ways off, but their target was coming into view and they'd likely be there within a couple of minutes. Scanning the horizon herself, the space pirate thought to herself that she hoped that this rendezvous would mean a much more interesting turn of events for them than some of the slow days they had had lately. Ryoko appreciated taking things easy and relaxing, especially after that whole mess with the reformat, but too much of that could get boring for her. Ah well… time to check out what her mother had found to be interesting…

"In all her glory, huh..." J had been in a lot of strange things and while he did prefer K's PoS Ford to damn near all of that... What was it like riding in a cabbit? What the hell even was a cabbit? Whatever Ryo-Ohki was, J kept his comments to himself and looked where Miss Hakubi had her eyes set. He didn't seem to be actually paying attention, though...

The Agent's mind was far, far away; a place where his gaze betrayed. He stared past the glinting spikeball (he thought it was a spikeball) off on the horizon - he stared past everything. K... Why were you doing all of this? For what purpose? It bothered J, it really bothered him, that he didn't know much of his partner. He knew practically nothing about K at all, and the only things he did know were from accidents. J didn't want to repeat what happened when he mistakenly neuralized K's memory and reverted him back to a sixteen-year old kid. But... K had been so full of life, personality! Yeah, okay; K's father was a real stickler of a drill sergeant but K! He actually felt human!

Thinking through all of this and facing his insecurities, J stuffed his hands inside his pant pockets. "Well, one way or another," he began to say, reserved for once, "this is gonna be one hell of a ride." Physically and emotionally, it seemed...

Everything he wanted to know was in the swamp, and the swamp is where they're gonna go.

((If you two want to post conclusions, you may. I will get a new thread up later today or tomorrow.))

Soon enough, Ryo-Ohki was hovering overhead, but how were they supposed to get onboard? The ship couldn't exactly land, and there were no obvious ways in. Well, J was about to find out how one boards a cabbit as Washu stepped closer and took him by the wrist, then started flying. Regardless of how much J might freak out, the scientist just flew up towards Ryo-Ohki, pulling the agent along.

But just flying up towards the ship wouldn't get them onto it, and so J was about to get another shock. In the next few seconds, Washu called upon her innate power and then did her usual teleport. One second they were still in the air, the next they had appeared on board Ryo-ohki. There were a few crystals floating around, and Ryoko was sitting in the pilot's seat. Washu let go of J and landed herself, then walked over to Ryoko. "Remember when I told you about the agents, and how Agent K was missing? Well, we've finally found a lead . . . fly due west from here, until we reach this set of coordinates."

The scientist brought up her laptop, indicating the point where she'd found the LTD.

Ryoko raised her eyebrows as Washu again mentioned how Agent K had gone missing, right before nodding to her mother at the flight course that she noted. Grinning slightly and glancing to the side, she called out, "All right, sounds simple enough… Ryo-ohki, let's get going!"

"Myaa-MYAA!!" The cabbit's voice echoed throughout the interior of her ship form.

At that, the cabbit started to fly upwards into the sky before suddenly rocketing off in a westward direction. As Ryo-ohki got set on her flight path, Ryoko worked on the coordinates, studying them for a few moments. They were quite a ways off, and if her check against the map of the world of Portal Breach was right, then they were set to head out to the swamp. Now that was quite the place to be missing in… and it also explained part of why it had taken so long to get a reliable lead for him. Ryoko made sure to catch a quick look at the current screen on Washu's laptop as they all got set for the trip out… that point helped, but just what the heck was Agent K doing all the way out there?
