| It was one swell mess that a certain someone had gotten her into. Not only was she in a church of all places, but also in a cell., guarded by Iscariot lackies. As if this miserable situation could get worse. Aya sat hunched over on the cell floor, holed away in the farthest corner possible. To try and escape or sit there and wait. Not exactly the hardest choices to deliberate between. Escaping meant a strike at freedom or death. Waiting meant torment or death. Neither were looking too bright at the moment.
Looking up at the cell door she exhaled softly and started to rise up. Carefully Aya made her way over, keeping silent as she approached the door. Tentatively reaching out, both of her hands were placed on the first obstacle blocking her way. She could try and push it open, strong-arming it, as they would put it. But it would be loud. One simply doesn't force doors open without them groaning under pressure. But what other choice? She felt suspended in trepidation before her eyes grazed the hinges for the cell door.
'I could always...remove the hinge screws and try to open the door the opposite way...Or at least somehow!'
Oh yes! What a glorious though the vampire had thunk! Shuffling closer the the hinges she started at the bottom screw int the hinge. Slowly Aya got to work on trying to remove the first screw. All she hoped what that she didn't...Screw up.
((HIT, HIT = Screw is out, no suspicion ((HIT, MISS = Screw is part way out, guards alerted ((MISS, MISS = Screw is still in , High Suspicion |

| The guards outside of Terezi’s room twitched as they heard someone messing with the locks again. Surely the girl would know better! But obviously not. Both of the guards walked into the cell block and leaned on the walls, staring at Terezi through slightly tinted glasses.
Meanwhile in Terra and Kev’s prison the guard who had peeked into the room was rolling his eyes at the pair. They had been warned about the girl’s magic when she was brought to be incarcerated. There was little doubt in his mind that she was up to something. Perhaps she was trying to get into contact with the one that was being yelled at. Or maybe she was trying to escape…
The green one however was an interesting case. Father Wolfe had told them about the… thing’s capture. Apparently he had been very sociable. Other than that, they were only aware of it’s pyro-tendencies and that it spoke through its mind.
With a bored sigh the guard resumed his position outside the door. If that pair tried something, they'd be ready.
In front of Aya's cell however there was a man who knew better than to believe they'd simply leave themselves imprisoned here. He heard the tapping from inside the room, but did nothing.
Nothing yet anyway... |

| Suspicion, noise, suspicion, but not enough suspicion to act upon it. This was good. But my, was his mind noisy. Not as volatile though, the guard seemed to be the type to take steps one right after the other, and this made processing his thoughts much simpler. Kev, we will need to be ready to fight as soon as the door is unlocked, she warned him. Give me one more minute. I think I have this.
She closed her eyes again, and talked to Kev and embraced them, to add some credence to the alien's claim of needing to be comforted into sleep. This time around, keeping the words to herself, she muffled then against his shoulder so that they would not be heard, and the spell reactivated. She could see it in her mind's eye, the lock was slipping, nearly undone. They just needed a few more seconds...
((Two Coins: The first is for managing it under the guard's nose, the second is for unlocking the door the rest of the way.)) |

| The guard seemed to believe what he said, if only a little bit. He let out a a small yawn to try and help the masquerade as well, but the guard turned away again. They were no longer seen as a threat, but if they got caught again, they might get even more suspicious.
Kev nodded as Terra tried again, muffling her words into his shoulder so as to not get caught and it seemed to be working, because the guard did not look back at them again. He waited a few more moments and....nothing. No open door. Kev looked around a bit for maybe something to pry it open, but he saw nothing useful. Maybe....just maybe...
"Let me try something.." Kev closed his eyes and concentrated hard. Mental suggestion usually worked best with eye contact, but if it failed, there wasn't any good excuse he could make up to explain why he was staring into the guard's eyes. He concentrated with all his might, and reached out.
Hello. I am your God. You know, the one with the zombie son. I demand you open the door and let the prisoners go free.
Here's hoping priests are as gullible as he thought!

| Her eyes snapped open; being bonded at the moment as they were, it was impossible not to catch the shift in Kev's mental voice. She lifted her head from her shoulder, and would've asked him what he was doing...until she remembered, she had suggesting manipulating the guard, hadn't she?
She closed her eyes again. Maybe she could help. She concentrated, morphing her mental voice into an inaudible echo that would seem to come from nowhere and everywhere at once, a genderless tone that would intertwine with Kev's mental dialogue, as she reached deep for the threads of influence she could grasp within the poor man stationed outside their door. (Dipping into his mind wasn't difficult, she could hear his thoughts loud and clear as she was in her current state).
This is God's zombie son. My father is absolutely correct, what you are doing is unholy and immoral. It occurred to her, that, what she was doing was no better than what had been done to her when she'd been placed under the influence of the Puppeteer's Wheel, and she wondered at her own morality in engaging in this; chances were, as soon as the door was open, they'd have to kill the man. An act she was not looking forward to. These are not the heathens you are looking for. They may go about their business. Let them out. Move along.
((Boosting Kev's suggestion with two coins, at least one needs to hit to help the mental suggestions along! I'm sorry, when my last coins came up the way they did indicating I made no progress and the guard didn't notice anyway, I knew I just HAD to help Kev do this. AND WITH THAT QUOTE. FUCK YEAH.)) |

| Terezi seemed to stare at her guards with solid red unseeing eyes. She was thinking, though her face was unreadable. She focused on her situation and what to do about it. She was now under close supervision, which was annoying-but she did happen to have a gift. A completely mundane gift but still a gift she had. She had listened in carefully but heard nothing yet. They didn't talk to her, of course (yet)-they thought she was a demon, a bane to existence and her nocturnal nature would not help at all on that. She had to try something.
She had two courses of action: sweet reasonable logic or trolling. There were plenty of pros and cons for either case, she could endanger herself. She needed to get out-it was time. That dear sweet knight of hers was waiting for her out there and she would meet that knight, daylight or high water. So she turned to what she was certain she could do. Hmm. Points of commonality, points of contention... the seer pondered as she appeared to stare at them blindly. So, she decided to run with what she knew and hope for the best. "1S 1T NOT WOND3RFUL HOW 4L1K3 TH3 WORLDS 4R3?" She asked conversationally. "HOW WOND3ROUS 1T 1S TO B3 OF SOUND M1ND, 3V3N W1TH TH1S... MOST H3LL1SH BODY"
She put her hands over her horns. "HOW 4WFUL 1 MUST LOOK TO YOU, W1TH HORNS OF 4 HORROR, 3Y3S OF F1R3, T33TH 4ND CL4WS L1K3 4 B34ST OR DR4GON" She told the two calmly. They would have been doubly annoyed with Aradia's goat horns but still. She was here, not Aradia. Aradia would have summoned spirits to drive them slowly insane and flung anything in the cell at the bars. Terezi had none of those powers, but she did not need them-she had the power of persuasion. "HOW B3LOV3D YOUR FORMS TO TH3 CR34TOR, SO L1K3 H1M 4ND M3, 4 WR3TCH3D D1STORT1ON OF WH4T OUGHT TO B3"
She spread out her hands, palms up. "MY BL1NDN3SS 1S 4 GOD-G1V3N G1FT, 1S 1T NOT? 1T 1S WHY MY 3Y3S 4R3 SO R3D, SO L1K3 TH3 PROP3R C4NDY R3D YOU 4LL H4V3 FOR BLOOD" She spoke, keeping as best eye contact as she could. 1 H4V3 B33N TR34D1NG 4 P4TH OF 3RROR, WOULD YOU SHOW M3 TH3 W4Y?" She bowed her head, as if in repentance. Far as they knew, it could be.
"WH4T M1GHT 1 DO TO R3P41R MY W4YS 4ND MY F4T3?"
Terezi Pyrope: when it came to manipulation, she was simply the best.
[1 hit: she is somewhat believed but doubted. 2 hits: She is believed. None: totally disbelieved]

| The vampiress paused, fearing she had alerted guards to come in and bring in Holy pain, but here was naught a sound. There w as long and shaky exhale from Aya as she knelt closer to the bottom hinge, not believing her good turn of luck at this point. Well, as long as they weren't going to bother check up on her, she might as well take advantage of it.
Hunching back over the hinge, she began the tedious process once more. Pulling carefully at the half raised hinge nail, flinching at every little noise it made. Why were doors so well made now a days?
(Hit = Bottom hinge is disabled) (Miss = Hinge still intact) |

| Ah tulsit. It didn't really feel like there was enough push behind what he said to make this guy do what they wanted. He glanced over at Terra, surprised that she was helping, but grateful! ...Except that even her assistance fell flat. More than a tad drained by the combination bond making, emotion sharing, and failed attempt at minor mind control, Kev leaned against the wall weakly.
"What do we do now?" He sure had no ideas. Maybe trying to do that thing Terra was doing again. Seeing how there was no more commotions from the other guards, that meant two things. 1) the other prisoners had as much luck as they did and 2) the others weren't here yet. Could they really just sit here and wait to be rescued? It seemed if their luck didn't improve, they might have to.. |
