Finally, the incessant whooping and screaming had ceased, allowing his ears to rest from the cacophony of sounds. The spears had finally stopped being thrown, and the demon prince was allowed some rest for a moment, even if it was only due to his current insurance. Though the demon still stood tall, his limbs shuddered slightly from the exertion, breath a rasping huff from fatigue. Damn it all if he hated to admit it, but having a stomach really mattered when it came down to a fight like this. He could smell all them, all of their fear and the salt from their own exertion. The whisper of breath from the now silent widows was a reprieve from their shrill shrieks from earlier. Though, the Elder's curses did not go unheard, even in the prince's weakened state, his hearing was just fine. Prixlezub turned his head to the village elder, a low, threatening rumble emanating from his throat as his broken eyes stared down at him, trails of blood from their destruction trailing down his grill and maw like dim rivers of magma. The man would be able to see the embers that puffed forth from his grill and maw, smoke curling up into the sky.

While Prixlezub was unable to see the village elder, he could certainly smell the age on him, quickly pondering over the beings purpose here. The native was much too old to be a fighter, and from the way he cursed and snarled at him suggested a strategy gone afoul. Perhaps this person could be of some use to the demon, yes. Tightening his tail around the group of widows, the demon prince raised a claw up to his jaw, groaning from the high discomfort as he pushed on the dislocated and broken mandible. His brow furrowed as the demon's claw began to push up, as if to try and place the jaw back into alignment. There was a snap here, a grinding of metal there, the prince's free claw balling into a fist as he shoved the broken jaw back into the socket. As he moved to place the claw back on the ground, he found out (and quite painfully) that the jaw was not going to stay in place. Too much of the muscle had been torn to keep it from falling open, some fresh blood being drawn out of agitating the wound. Smoke puffed from the demon's grill now not only in pain, but frustration as well. How was he going to make demands if he had no way of communicating them! He gently let the jaw fall back out of alignment with a hiss. Ah, but at the same time, he realized he could not understand their language either, the majority of these beings probably not hearing a word of English in their life, not to mention Demonic tongues. Conversation would be pointless all the same.

Instead, the demon sat there, glowering at the village elder as well as he could despite being blind. If the demon let go of the hostages, the fight would start up all over again, and if he did not, then the lot of them would probably stay where they were. That is, if they were smart enough to know he would gladly reestablish that line he made earlier, and with the blood of the widows to boot. Finding no other real route of action, the demon prince kept his grip firm over the widows. If they were going to be at a stalemate, Prixlezub had not problem catching his breath for the time being. However, his head still roved about the field, pausing to 'stare' at the braves like as if he could still see.

The demon heard the angry words of the Elder and matched the Elder's gaze with one of its own, emitting a rumbling growl, face stained with blood and odd fire, mouth puffing out dark clouds of smoke, even now. The Elder alien, known in the village for being wise and cunning, the type of intelligence that comes only with age, and crafter of odd glass, was not quite so well known for his bravery. And why should he be? He was older, frailer than the males around him, at the top of their game. So when the demon matched his gaze, he was actually quite intimidated, intimidated into silence.

The warriors, last of their village, glanced around uncertainly. The Elder was their leader, and yet his inaction confirmed that they were at a stalemate, unable to do anything without injuring the females. And they did not need the elder's experience to know that a village without females dies quickly.

The demon turned its eyes off the Elder, wrapping a tail around the widows and grabbing its...face? A very grating and painful noise came from the demon as the jaw was pushed into place. However, from the way the mouth was still parted, allowing the lifeblood of the demon to dribble out, meaning the jaw was far too injured. The Elder kept that in mind for later...such knowledge was useful.

After trying and failing to fix its jaw, the demon turned its blind gaze back to the Elder, and the two held a silent staring contest in this stalemate. Would one of them die, in this staring contest that had no easy way to end? A suicide attack would end in even more death, something they obviously did not need more of. Enough had died today. Would there be no retribution? No help?

As if the Gods themselves heard though, the rain clouds from earlier finally drifted closer to the stalemate and with it...rain. The Elder watched the demon warily. Fire's only weakness...was water. The rain was putting out the forest fires, but would it hurt the demon as well?

A dull rumble of wind passed over his hide, at first ignored by the demon prince as he kept his focus on the other natives, figuring them to be of greater importance than the weather. The fact that the whole field fell silent over his actions of holding the widows captive was almost amusing. A tribe of such primitive creatures holding such care and caution over how he handled a group of their women. In fact, the demon found it laughable that the widows were not even trying to fight back. Even the humans had more fight in them than this, a race of such emotional and pathetic minds. Prixlezub kept his vigil over the widows, his tail kept securely wrapped around them to chase away any thoughts of escape, as climbing his tail or touching his hide would prove more harm than good. Smoke curled from his grill as he continued to rumble and growl, his mane flickering and flaring like a well fed fire despite how weakened he felt.

A stray gust past his grill told him of his folly, however, as while he kept his mind on the natives, he failed to look around his surroundings. The scent of rain wafted into his grill openings, making them twitch with the new changes to the playing field. He knew exactly what it meant, and the distant roar of a storm wind graced his ears, further reinforcing his thoughts. He was to fall here if the rain managed to douse his mane, a foreign planet that he knew no love nor care for, and without vengeance. Of all the shameful defeats, being brought back from his slumber only to be forced back into it again. His mane flared once more, this time in outrage more than to intimidate, a small flicker of red tipping the licks of blue fire. No, he would not be defeated as a trophy beast for some ignorant, feathered creatures. The demon prince rumbled once more, deeper and more powerful than before. His 'gaze' flicked down to the widows, his precious insurance against being attacked by the rest of the braves, as few as there were. If these females were what could stop a war, then they were what could give the killing blow to his adversaries as well.

Tightening his tail around the widows with crushing force, the demon prince brought his bloodied claws down, grasping a handful of the widows and lifting it up for the males, especially the Elder, to see. With a clench of his fist, the demon began to crush them in his grip, compacting them into a pulp of bloody flesh and snapped bones. No doubt the others could hear the woman breaking from here, though that was only the beginning of what he planned to do. Once the widows had been properly mangled, he flung the handful of ruined females into the fire. Even as the rain started, he cared not to cover himself. There would be no cover great enough for his body. It was only the luck that the rains started out in a mild drizzle that his manes were unable to be doused. Prixlezub continued on to the rest of the widows held captive by him, squeezing them until the stench of their blood charred flesh was thick in his grill. Only when there were no more would he be satisfied with his stolen offerings.

The tail tightened around the females, eliciting a few yelps of surprise, but not much else. Being in the grips of the demon who had killed their mates was terrifying, even more since it did not seem keen on giving them up in one piece. What could they do? This demon had killed so many of their people...it was made of fire...what could they possibly do?

The Elder watched the demon expectantly, as the rain came down, but even as the fires began being put out, the demon was unaffected. Just when they thought they had hope in this stalemate...the demon actually seemed more powerful, if the red in those blue flames were any indication. And the widows were still in its grasp. How could this get worse?

The tail tightened, and the broken claws reached down, grabbing up two females. The Elder and the warriors stared in horror as the bloody hand of the beast tightened around the two, who shrieked and screamed at the pressure on their bodies. The screams intensified when bone began to break, skin and delicate organs not too far behind. Harder still, the hand squeezed, and the screams eventually stopped. Blood dripped from the demon's hand and he callously tossed the bodies into the fire.

The Elder's fist tightened. How dare it? How DARE it! Nothing deserved such a death, especially a female, widows at that! They had taken great care to not attack just to keep them alive, and it was all for naught. He killed two of them. And his tail continued to squeeze the 6 females left, who clawed helplessly at the tail that bound them, but the skin was too tough for them to puncture with claws.

The three Natives who had originally left with the Elder looked to him, hands grasping the fallen spears of their companions. Their intent was clear. The Elder nodded. "Take it down." It would kill more females even if they let it be. So why not go down killing it for what it had done.

"I've lived long enough anyway.." The Elder mused to himself. The Warriors took the Elder's words to heart and charged, aiming their spears for the belly and chest of the beast. The eyes had already been taken down, useless as it seemed to be. The warriors fought with all their might, even attempting to claw the skin of the demon as they stabbed it with the spears. The Elder watched, eyes narrowed.

You will pay for what you've done.

Post by Prixlezub on Sun Feb 12, 2012 9:37 am

Though Prixlezub only managed to toss two of the woman to the fire, their deaths had roused the fighting spirit of his enemies. Their spears and claws only glanced off of the prince's armored hide, a few of them managing to strike deep and leave a few dents in the crimson skin. Prixlezub glanced down at the natives and puffed smoke from his grill, not amused at the attempts to try and defeat him with such pathetic weaponry. The rain continued to fall, yes, but it failed to douse his mane, much to the luck of the demon prince. If they wanted their precious women so badly, perhaps they should not have strung them along for the fight. Anyone foolish enough to bring people who are unfit for battle bring death and defeat upon themselves, the fools. Even though the demon prince could not see, he could certainly smell the fear on the females. Untrained, undisciplined, timid. These were no warriors but grieving women, why would they bring them here if they were unable to fight? These natives seemed to lack logic as well as sense.

Scooping up a few more handfuls of the widows, Prixlezub reared up, his hooves stamping the earth and his tail slamming the ground behind him for balance. As he stood up there, his head up near the clouds, he 'glared' down at the remaining natives. fire and smoke curled from his grill and maw, mingling up with the darkened clouds that rolled and cried their tears overhead. Prixlezub clenched his fists, crushing the women he held in his grasp like the others, all the while his empty eye sockets staring down at the males, the flickering of light overhead making them seem deeper than usual. His grip tightened, to the point where the blood of the widows rained down upon the rest of the natives like a crimson shower, almost mingling with the rain. Once their screams and pleading ceased, the prince cast them down as fleshy pulps on the Elder and his followers.

If they wanted their women so damn much, they could have them. The widows served no purpose to an nonnegotiable predicament, only as sacrifices of war, foolish sacrifices at that.

Feeling lightheaded from the fight, the demon prince slammed back down onto all fours once again, his head spinning as he fought to keep himself from falling. He knew if he fell here, he would not be given the chance to get back up. The demon's legs quaked from the impact, bowing and forcing the demon to stagger in order to keep his balance. By now, his breath came in ragged puffs of inky black smoke, seeming much thicker due to the rain. He would still stand, and they would be the ones to fall, not the other way around. Never the other way around. His head barely held above his shoulders, the demon prince stared down the remains of his adversaries, growling threateningly. Come you fools, come and face your death.

The rain continued to fall, becoming heavier and heavier, bouncing off the skulls that adorned the Native's skulls. The water leaked into their head adornments, making their faces beneath them somewhat soggy. The rain had the same effect on Prixlezub, finally putting out his great mane for the moment, but not before he could slaughter 3 more of the women.

Prixlezub had reared up with the next scoop of widows, looking down at the remaining Natives. The widows were already skiddish to be in the hands of this monster, but when he reared up at such a great height, they became even more skiddish. And then the grip tightened and three of the widows shrieked in pain as their bodies shattered at the pressure, blood showering down upon the horrified males, Prixlezub's empty eyes glaring down at them the whole time. The remaining living widows screamed in horror and struggled in the Demon's grasp.

The warriors beside the Elder had gaped and yelped in horror at the blood of the females that rained upon them, staring down in horror at their stained bodies. The Elder stared down as well, but he was less vocal then his companions. He merely glared up at the demon. The demon was not done and had dropped the dead bodies among them as well. The bodies fell down to them, empty eyes looking up into nothing, body broken beyond repair, and no longer able to give the children their species needed to thrive.

The demon's body made a thundering noise as it came back down, actually looking exhausted, although still growling angrily. The Elder narrowed his eyes and looked at the horrified Warriors beside him. They met his gaze and together, they all glared at the evil Demon before them. The demon that crushed their widows. The demon that killed their brothers. The demon that would pay.

"FOR GLORY!" The Elder yelled, making a grand gesture as the Natives rushed the demon with their spears, attacking him while he was weak!

Post by Prixlezub on Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:29 am

Despite the demon's determination and anger, the rain was taking its toll, hissing and steaming as it fell against his hide. Prixlezub's mane flickered and wavered in the storm, dwindling back down to a small strip of fire against his neck and tail. As if his injuries were not enough of a debilitation, the prince felt his strength sap even more from his body, his head lowering and smoke billowing from his grill and maw from fatigue. The demon prince was not meant for heavy rains, the water being one of the few things that could douse his mane. The shuddering in his legs seemed more pronounced, and his head began to swim as he felt his senses start to fall out of sync. The natives still felt it wise to attack him despite his earlier demonstration of wrath, their spears managing to peck at his hide, but cause little damage. Nonetheless, they were whittling him down, his claw swatting aimlessly at the spears that came his way. It would not be long before Prixlezub finally fell from his injuries, but he sure as hell would not be going down easy.

Struggling to get the spinning feeling out of his head, the demon prince stilled himself, his joints locking in place as he focused on trying to regain his bearings on the world around him. He felt as if he was about to collapse, never having to go so long without an important organ before. Not even the Fallen had sunk so low as to remove his stomach and try to leave him in such a state of disrepair. At the same time though, the demon had never been so stupid before as to fall into such an obvious ambush. The demon felt his head spinning like a top, the world unstable under his heavy feet as he stayed braced against an unseen earthquake. It would be a long while before he was able to target anything properly again, a fact that made the prince feel quite vulnerable, as much as he hated to admit it. Prixlezub's thoughts, as well as his heart, started to race. What would these creatures do with him if he was captured? He was not like his kin where he could simply die and be done with it. He would fall back into his sleep, back into the void of the nightmares he endured for months on end. Prixlezub felt a chill down his spine, not over going back to the sleep, but more over what would happen during that sleep. The demon did not know what the natives would do, unlike Zurg and Layla who he at least had some knowledge over what went on with them.

Snarling and billowing yet another thick cloud of black smoke from his maw and grill, the demon prince refused to move lest the ground fell out from under him. However, he would find another way to keep himself from returning to that hellish nightmare. If he could not move his limbs, he would use his tail instead. His target changed from the widows to the men who were now attacking him, swinging the tree-thickness tail over the ground in a wide arc, trying to knock over and crush the remaining natives into the ground.

Their spears hit their mark, but the damage that was done did not seem like much. The Elder's fist tightened as he stared at the demon to see how he would retaliate. For the longest time though, the demon had locked himself up, every joint frozen, every muscle stock still. It almost seemed as if the demon was so weak, that if it didn't lock up, it'd collapse. The mixture of their brothers' previous efforts, the rain, and their present efforts must have been working wonders! And of course, the wounds from before they had even met this thing.

The Elder snapped his fingers, getting the warriors' attention and bringing them over to him, a few feet away from the still demon. "Not much more will be needed to down this thing." The warriors nodded in agreement. "The best place to attack are the limbs and the stomach. The stomach has been previously injured, as we can tell from the bits of spear sticking out of there, and the faster we injure the limbs, the faster the demon will go down."

"What do we do after its down?" The most muscular among them asked. The Elder looked back at the harness of black metal. "We capture it. And take it to the chiefs. They will decide its ultimate fate. I hope they choose death." He could only hope though, because theirs was the FINAL decision. The demon finally moved, great tail swinging out to smack into them, but they evaded it easily.

As the warriors charged forth, aiming their spears at the stomach of Prix, and slashing at his hands and hooves, the females that were in his grasp attempted to escape. Could they get away while the demon could not crush them?
