Early on Monday morning would find Commander Nebula seated at his desk, looking over the final reports that would be necessary for this upcoming endeavour. The space pirates had gotten more desperate lately, even going so far as to attack star cruisers along with any hapless private vessels they found unprotected. They'd lost a cruiser and a damned necessary teryllium and crystallic fusion resource, but luckily enough the rangers of 36 had returned safe; shaken, but safe. But that was the least of the commander's worries. He examined a few star charts, trying to pinpoint a pattern, but the space pirates' moves had been erratic and impossible to calculate. They could strike anywhere next, but that was one thing Commander Nebula was unwilling to allow. And because of the damn rules and their ever-swindling numbers, Nebula had been forced to turn to outside help.
When Buzz Lightyear and his team had pretty much disbanded, that had caused a stir within their ranks. A majority of the rangers, Nebula included, had figured that as long as Buzz stuck around, they'd be able to get by. Even in this strange new world, with different rules and no Galactic Alliance, they could still protect and defend like they'd always done. True, when Team Lightyear had pretty much split up, they had fallen into decay. Other rangers followed their example and settled upon Portal Breach; some others, like the commander, had remained steadfast despite the odds. And they'd managed it, somehow. Their deal with Portal Breach's local law enforcement was that space was their turf, and Portal Breach was the Police Force's turf. Nebula ironically came into contact with the chief at least once a week, sometimes longer, to pass on reports and the like. So when Nebula had informed Hellboy of space pirates, the demon had suggested allowing outsiders to help out. Against his better judgement, Nebula had made an ad on this so-called bulletin board. But to his surprise, he'd gotten people signing up almost instantaneously. Damn demon. As if Nebula didn't know about Hellboy's affiliations with that bucket head...
But that was besides the point. The point was that now, these eager recruits would be arriving any minute to Star Command. Nebula had already read up on their files and had mixed reactions, but he'd let that slide in the face of duty. Besides, it wasn't like they'd go unsupervised. He'd sent Rocket Crockett down to the Space Terminal to accompany them, so once he got word that Crockett had arrived, the Commander would have to inform them on the situation and see whether they could even pull this off. As if he was going to leave this to chance!
"Commander Nebula, Rocket Crockett has arrived with the new recruits," a clearly feminine voice announced over the intercomm.
With a grunt, Nebula pressed a button on his desk. "Roger that, Ranger Shakti. Have them report to the briefing room."
"Right away, Commander."
With a curt exhale, Nebula rose form his desk, gathering his papers. Star charts, reports on attacks, personal files, everything that'd be necessary for this meeting. He left his office despite the whines and protests of his desk and made his way down the hall. His peg-leg announced his coming and going before his boisterous voice even could. Any ranger who chanced upon him in the hallway snapped quick salutes of respect before continuing along their way to their duties. What duties, he almost wanted to grumble. These space pirates had been one of the biggest things to happen to them since their two-year sojourn in this new dimension, and they couldn't even handle it! It got Nebula's nerves and pride in quite the bundle, and the old man felt just that: old.
He eventually did make it to the briefing room, not at all surprised that he was the first one there. The wide starshield beyond had a clear view of space and Portal Breach orbiting below, and the commander gingerly seated himself at the head of a long blue desk, sorting out his papers. First the personal files. Then the reports on what had been destroyed and stolen. And here, Nebula had several star charts and predicted trajectory routes, which he would display holographically to give them a better picture on the situation. He didn't need to brief the rangers that would be accompanying them--they already knew the deal. But just because these recruits or whatever weren't real space rangers didn't mean that Nebula wouldn't give them their just desserts!
There was a knock on the door and someone familiar stuck his face in the room. "Oh, you're already here! Er, sorry, sir." He allowed the door to fully slide open before straightening with a sharp salute. "Rocket Crockett, reporting for duty, sir!"
Nebula just gave Crockett a look, his moustache twitching. "At ease, son. Where're the civilians?"
"Right here, sir. Shall I send them in?"
The commander just gave him another look, his trademark temper already kicking in. "Well, whaddya think I'm in here for, Crockett?! Quit dawdling and get them in here! We're working on a tight schedule in case you haven't noticed!"
Crockett gulped and saluted again. "Right away, sir! Uh, single file, people! And you can just sit down wherever you'd like... no formalities, being civilians and all..." But at the look Nebula shot him, Crockett clamped his mouth shut again. Nebula's temper was getting worse by the day. "I'll just be down in the science bay if you need me, ah, sir..."
With Rocket's hasty retreat, the twelve recruits were left to file into the room however they liked, but under the narrowed gaze of the commander, who wanted the chance to observe them before he got down to business. "Like Crockett said, doesn't matter where you sit. Just settle down so we can get started." His voice sounded softer, but was still gruff-edged with half a century's militaristic experience. He glanced down at his list. Twelve people. They better all be here, or else they'd be getting the lecture of a lifetime.

((Okay, welcome to the Space Pirates mini-plot! Sorry if this is short notice, but here's the deal. I would like each person who has signed up to post once before I post as Nebula again. It's a chance for Nebula to make sure everyone's there before he explains what's going to go down with the space pirates. Afterwards, it doesn't matter if you post or not in between (although it'd be great to get one or two posts in) until Nebula wants to know you're all willing to go through with it after he's explained the plan. That's when I'd like one post from each person again, and then you'll be separated into teams and given further instructions.
I hope you'll enjoy this mini-plot and have fun!)) |

| Back at the terminal, Samus had flown there in her ship. She had arrived in her hunter-class gunship and gotten out, clad in her powerful chozo armor. She had bounty hunted entire planets swarming with pirates before, and tended to usually blow up the planet, killing the pirates there. When she arrived at the terminal, she saw Crockett. He looked like a stereotypical spaceman in a suit. The suit was different to the galactic federations suits, that was for sure. But Samus was positive of one thing. Those pirates were going down.
She had gone along with Crockett, and when they arrived at the base, she was the first to step into the room that had commander Nebula in it. Her suit made a clunk every time it hit the ground, and her visors showed nothing of any danger in the room. The place was fine. She preferred not to sit, but she did anyway because Nebula asked. When she sat down, she took off her helmet and revealed herself underneath. It worked to be polite. Samus sat in silence. |

| Sheila had arrived at Star Command's terminal via a civilian space shuttle. Some..robot had already arrived and there was a young man, presumably a space ranger. Rather then her usual, somewhat revealing suit, Sheila had borrowed a simple white shirt and jean pants. Seeing how they'd be going into space, she figured they'd be getting space suits or something. And bearing her breasts wasn't the best first impression.
The others eventually arrived, she gave them a small wave and kept quiet. Her less than feminine voice wasn't always a good first impression either. Finally, they were led into a room, where an older gentleman waited for them. She walked in behind the robotic suit guy and gaped a bit when robot guy turned out to be a girl.
"Nice suit." She said hoarsely. She meant it too. |

| MINERVA was definitely nervous about this entire adventure she had signed herself up for. Heck, putting on her old uniform that she had recieved after the last testing phases of her new body so many years ago in the old galaxy make her shake all over from the nerous excitement that was building up inside of her. Heading to the terminal, she had to keep herself distracted by either twittling her fingers or mess with her hair. Of course, she had heard the stories of Crockett and how arrogant he could be, but she knew better and still gave every Ranger she ever worked the same amount of respect. After arriving at the space station, all the memories came flooding back of everything before the accident and everything that happened after, and oh how wonderful it was. Remembering where everthing was and immediately headed straight for the briefing room, all the normal routines returning. After following Samus in, she took a chair a couple of seats away from her old commander, her nerves knotting up like crazy from the stress that was penting up ever since signing up for this whole thing. Hopefully as Nebula was explaining the intricate details of the mission, she would relax a bit more and feel a bit more comfortable. |

| Samara had woken up way too early that very day, it would have been hours before the sun rose, but she didn't care. It was the day she and the eleven other volunteers would be leaving for Star Command, the most well-known intergalactic defense corps. Star Command was mere fiction in her world along with the rest of Team Lightyear as a children's show, a mere piece of entertainment for those young and imaginative at heart. But here, in Portal Breach...it was as real as the nose on your face or the eyes in your head. When Sam had passed the bulletin board months ago, she had noticed the alert for help posted by Commander Nebula himself. What intrigued her even more was that a couple of her good friends were signing up to assist as well. Part of her concern for her friends prompted Samara to join in on the call, the other half yearned to learn more about this place that was only deemed fiction back in her world.
When the time had come to get ready, Samara had taken her essentials and packed them in her little satchel side-bag. She had to first go and meet Megamind, since they would arrive at the port together. The female construct would also be leaving her roommate, 5 the stitchpunk, and her brainbot, Cobalt, in Roxanne and Minion's care as she would be gone for quite awhile. Sam didn't think it would be fair to incapacitate her roommate, with his small size, or leave Cobalt alone to grow anxious at the disappearance of his 'mom'. At least here 5 would have company and Cobalt could play with Pinky and Neon without worry. When it came time for Megamind and her to leave, Samara watched as he bid his little family farewell, Roxanne sealing it with a kiss. The fembot smiled at them, waiting until the blue alien grabbed his things and started up his hoverbike.
The ride to the space terminal was rather short, but enough to let Sam's mind wander a little. She had never been to space before...let alone a space station. The entire concept was exciting but also rather frightening for the construct. It wasn't long until her train of thought was derailed by Megamind's nudging her in the side as they were waved over by the sight of a man in a purple, green and white spacesuit. He was stern, but thankfully friendly. The ranger, Rocket Crockett was his name, explained to them what was to come as soon as they were in the space station, an immediate meeting with Commander Nebula himself. Well, that wasn't nerve racking.....this was going to be a long flight. At least the fembot was thankful she wouldn't be alone on the trip or during the time in space..
====
Upon arrival to Star Command, Crockett had began to rush them out of the shuttle and began ordering them into a single file line. As they walked from the ship hangar to the halls that would take them to the meeting room, Samara couldn't help but stare in awe of the place. She reached out and actually ran her fingers along the metal railings of the walkway, making a slight 'ping' of metal to metal contact. It was just surreal, everything.
Crockett brought the fembot back to reality with a snap of his fingers and a quick word of warning. Sam's slight embarrassment urged her to move on with the group, finally entering one by one into the meeting room. Crockett had left them to head back to his duties, but they certainly were not alone. Oh no, they were not. The Commander himself stood at the base of the meeting room, eyeing each of them. With that, Sam made a nervous noise, then quickly sat herself down in a random spot.

| Megamind had been up early himself. He was excited about going into space, but hared to leave his beloved Roxanne alone for so long. He was realizing how very long he would be seperated from her and was actually having serious second thoughts.
Obviously Roxanne nototiced because she gave him a long lingering kiss then pulled back, rubbing her finger down his neatly trimmed goatee. "Go do good, hero. We'll be fine, you just look after yourself and come home safe. You keep an eye on him, Sam. He gets in mischief alone. " At the fembot's nod, she gave Megamind a gentle push. "Go, I love you, spaceman."
"Love you too." He scooped up his bag and led Samara out to his hoverbike. The ride was short, but already the blue alien felt homesick for Roxanne. This would be hard, but he had to do it. The hoverbike decided to behave for a change and they arrived saftly. Once Sam and he were off he casually dehydrated the bike and pocketed it.
Seeing a man in a brightly colored space suit wave them over he nudged Sam to get her attention and led the way. The man, one Rocket Crokett, Megamind was hard pressed not to laugh out loud at the name led them to the ship. Megamind enjoyed the trip. It had been a long time since he's been in space.
Rocket Crokket explained there would be an imediate meeting with Commander Nebula and had them line up single file and led them to the briefing room. He gave Sam a quick wink to make her feel better when she got a warning to move. He glanced around, seeing the Commander himself looking them over, as they came in. He nodded to the people he knew then sat down next to Sam to wait.
Wonder if my past is going to cause trouble? Well, he'd deal with it when, if it happened. |

| Possessing neither his own transportation or ample monies, Rasa'Jeqkogomee had to do what he been trained to do. He activated his stealth generator, stowaway on board a cargo ship, and silently waited in hiding for it to dock with Star Command. The performance was done effectively and once the coast was clear, the alien with his shimmering aura slipped away into the sterilized halls of this... space station.
The architecture was crude at best, and Rasa'Jeqkogomee sneered at the imperfections he viewed. This was the space station that would herald them? He was not amused, but his views would have to remain within his mind for now. The warrior currently had to find the debriefing room, which he was able to do by following the blue alien with the large cranium. The Megamind, if Rasa'Jeqkogomee's reports proved accurate.
Once inside this room, there was no longer a need for stealth and the occupants would suddenly find a towering, muscular alien popping out of nowhere. "I am present and accounted for," Rasa'Jeqkogomee's voice easily carried through the chamber and he eyed everyone at least once before directing his full attention to the Commander of the operation. "I prefer to remain standing. Sitting down in these chairs will prove to be..." He paused and clenched his mandibles tightly. "Demeaning." Sitting down with these eleven others would suggest he was on equal standing, and that was not acceptable according to his doctrine. |

| Both Shepard and Garrus had gone together to meet Rocket Crokett, the space ranger who would take them to Star Command. At the Space Terminal, the shuttle was up and ready and you could see the rising sun.
Shepard had all of her guns and armor ready that morning, getting prepared even from the night before. She woke up earlier than she should have and decided to do some exercises, warm-ups, push ups and all the like. And while eating her breakfast, she started thinking that she needed a job as she couldn't just do nothing here at the Breach. Maybe at the police or something like that. Shepard would have to think about this later as she got ready and went to Garrus' apartment.
There were many recruits getting on the shuttle, some she had seen sometimes in the Sanctuary, some not at all. But then again, you would always see someone new at Portal Breach.
Finally arriving at Star Command, they all followed Crokett to the briefing room, she assumed as they entered. It looked similar to the one the Normandy had, where they had briefings on all missions. Shepard decided to push the thought aside. She gave a nod to the Commander and sat down. She might be a Commander herself but here, she was just a civilian. |

| lazy casual day as usual. Flash stretched like a lazy cat. Yes for now it was time to be a little lazy and later he would pomp himself up. But not yet no he wasn't awakened completely after that long two days of recharging.mmmh sweet recharging in a warm and comfy bed. He had been a little silent, nipping the latex of his thumb and not really paying attention to his surrounding, thoughts were troubling his processor. He worried of his sibbling now alone in the studio.. He wasn't so sure that was a great idea...
He blinked to finally take notice of his surroundings... Oh this place is nice...

| Bloodscream had taken the shuttle, a new experience that the near immortal could not say that he all around enjoyed. Space travel was new to him, something he would have to get use to if he was going to be successful in this job.
It seemed that he was to be one of the last to arrive to the party. Shame, he usually preferred to be early that was he could watch others arrive and study them. Very quickly he surveyed his surroundings, and noted all of the familiar faces.
Of those in the room he recognized Madame Monarch, Lady Samara, and Lady Minerva. All of who he nodded to politely. He also recognized Megamind and Flashman, who he greeted with a curt nod as he knew neither of them very well at all. Three more stood in the room that were unknown to him. A large blue alien that had talked to Tally during the Otokoyo game, a human woman, and an armored solider who remained a mystery.
Bloodscream gave a curt nod to the commander and stood by the wall. He wondered how such an odd group as they were to work together. |

| Spy uncloaked in one of the last remaining chairs. The man of stealth quietly nodding to Commander Nebula as he came into view. The bags under his eyes were still there, but they had lightened in the last few weeks.
If Spy were to be an honest man, which he never was, but if he were for once to be honest he would truthfully say that he felt uncomfortable being in space. Life had been stressful lately, and emotions had been tense back at home. He had been reluctant to leave Sonia alone, her paranoia had simmered down but was still there. She had insisted however that he go, Leo had also promised to check in on her while Spy was away. It did soothe his nerves a bit to know that her brother would be watching her. But not much. |

| Jana arrived at the space terminal in her usual purple and blue outfit. It was the perfect attire, for it was stretchable and didn’t rip after her morph back to cyborg after wirewolf. Her physically enhanced armor suit was on underneath her outfit as well. The bag on her back had Bowser’s head on it, and inside it were her weapons. Jana’s plasma whip from Lawrence was also in it.
A few minutes past before Rocket Crocket came in a signature Star Command space suit. She didn’t know who the man was as she had really only heard news of Team Lightyear both on Trade World and on the Breach. The cyborg took this time to look around. She remembered coming with the new Dani which made her think of the old Dani. Just a few weeks ago it had been a year since her death. The girl shook her head and stopped thinking about it.
Jana was surprisingly very quiet the whole time. Even as Crocket led them in to meet Captain Nebula she remained quiet. She wanted to make an ok first impression; lest they decide she was too immature or disruptive to participate. She actually wanted to do this and kick some space pirate butts with some friends. The cyborg quickly took a seat and started to fiddle with her fingers. She hoped this would be over with quickly.

| Garrus and Shepard had gotten up bright and early for this venture. Like a hawk, the turian had risen before the sun was up, and the sounds coming from Shepard's flat indicated the same for his former commander. It wasn't often they got to do things in this place, so even going after pirates, though it made them seem more like mercenaries for hire, was a welcome distraction. He'd made sure to take all of his weapons with him and dressed in his customary armour. He glanced at himself in the hallway mirror when they climbed down the apartment's stairwell, noting that he still hadn't gotten that crack repaired. Oh, well.
They took the bus to the Space Terminal, and when they encountered Rocket Crockett and the shuttle that would take them to Star Command, the sun was just starting to rise. The trip took a few hours before they reached the space station, Garrus waking up from his short nap just in time to see Star Command itself. The design was different from what he was used to, white instead of simply metallic, and of an unusual shape. But the shuttle soon descended into the launch bay, and Crockett ushered them and the rest of the rest of the volunteers out and into Star Command.
They had barely been there for a few moments, the turian trying to regain his bearings after his first space trip in two years, when Crockett ushered them to the briefing room, where the head of Star Command itself, Commander Nebula, was waiting for them. He was a large man, with broad shoulders and a tanned, stern face, who looked just as stern as any of the turian militants Garrus had encountered. He stared for a moment, finding facial hair odd, but soon sat into a seat beside Shepard. He saw very few people he recognised, but seeing as this would be an official briefing, he would be formal. With a polite nod to Nebula, the turian did a quick headcount and wondered whether they were the only volunteers who had offered their assistance with the pirates. |

| Nebula just glowered at Rocket Crockett's fleeing back, before shifting his gaze to each entering recruit, memorising and analysing them by their dress, appearance, and bearing. Based on the files he had, he could probably pick out who was who based on his list and the photos he had.
The first one to enter wore a bulky-looking suit of armour with a dominant orange, red and yellow colour scheme, Samus Aran. They seated themselves, taking off their helmet to reveal a young blond-haired woman underneath, but said nothing and only waited quietly for them to start. The commander grunted in approval. He liked no-nonsense kind of people, especially people who obviously knew the stakes beforehand and came prepared.
The second person to enter was yet another woman, dressed simply in civilian clothing. Nebula checked his files and found a matching face; Dr Mrs the Monarch. He also made a mental note to send her off to Shakti along with whoever else would be needing a space suit and weapons. He figured she knew how to fight--at least he hoped so--and wisely kept a straight face at her hoarse voice when she complimented Aran.
The third person to enter was a bit of a surprise. It was a feminine-looking robot, but what surprised Nebula was what she was wearing. It looked like the typical Star Command-issue uniform, but wasn't at the same time. With a small grunt, he figured it was one of those alternate universe types and left it at that. She actually had hair, so he concluded that she was the cyborg dubbed MINERVA 4.0.
The next person who entered was another female robot, but she at least looked more robotic than the other. Her "hair" was made up of cables, so Nebula figured she was the robot named Shift, recently renamed Samara. When he fixed her with a look, she made a nervous sound before sitting down. She looked fairly timid. Nebula idly wondered how she handled fighting.
The fifth person was instantly recognisable as Megamind. No one else had blue skin and a large, bald head, after all. Oh, Nebula had heard plenty on this guy. An ex-villain, he'd supposedly reformed (even though he and Zurg had been in some sort of giant robot fight at some point) and was now working as an inventor for the police. The commander couldn't contain a snort at the thought. Ah, well, he wasn't involved in Hellboy's comings and goings. Craters, even he fraternised with that blasted bucket-head... Megamind took a seat beside Samara with a few nods and Nebula shifted his gaze to the next person.
An eight-foot tall alien materialised out of thin air, garbed in thick blue armour. Out of everyone, he was the first to speak up, something Nebula would give him credit for. But what he said was totally unacceptable and got the elderly commander grinding his teeth. "Oh, sure, don't let me rain on your parade. Wouldn't want you to demean yourself," he said, less-than-pleased. This individual must be Rasa'Jeqkogomee. Nebula had heard he was a vicious one in battle. He hated fraternising with these sorts, but it couldn't be helped.
The seventh person was another human female dressed in armour, as well. By her bearing, she appeared to be an individual of authority and experience, but was humble enough, unlike Rasa, to take a seat with a polite nod Nebula's way. Good, she showed respect too. Scanning the list, Nebula ticked off the name Olivia Shepard.
The next person was another robot, humanoid in looks and appearance, who looked like he was falling asleep on the spot. The commander made a face, but ticked him off his list too. Only one other robot was on the list, and that would be Flash Man.
The next fellow was a pale sort, tall and gangly and unhealthy looking. He even sported long white hair, as well as what looked to be sunglasses. Bloodscream didn't take a seat either, nodding and preferring to stand, leaning against a wall. This didn't bother the commander for Nebula didn't have a problem with people preferring to stand; he had a problem with people who didn't show the proper respect and authority. Presuming he was Bloodscream, he ticked the pasty, pale man's name off too.
The tenth person materialised in another chair. Great, cloaking devices. Nebula wasn't growing fond of people popping out of nowhere. But thank the cosmos that it was just thanks to technology and not magic. If anyone in this room had so-called powers, nebula would boot them right out of the airlock without another word. Taking in the man's masked appearance, he figured he was this "Red Spy".
Next walked in the youngest person who had signed up, Jana Snitch. Nebula knew her by her reputation alone and how long she'd stuck around Portal Breach. Unlike her usual chaotic personality, however, she was quiet and took a seat with dignity. The commander made a small sound of approval. Good, it showed the kid wanted to be here and was serious about it. That needed guts.
The last person to enter was another alien, a male in blue armour that had a large crack on one side. The alien's face looked scarred on that side too. Checking the only name on his list that he hadn't crossed out, he decided this must be Garrus Vakarian. Hey, hadn't that Garrus undertaken some sort of expedition in Gamma-O once? That was a long time ago, but at least it assured Nebula that Garrus knew a thing or two about fighting.
The commander of Star Command finally set aside his papers and rose from his seat, clearing his throat as he supported his fists on the desk. "All right, people. For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I'm Commander Nebula. Now, normally I'd just cut down to the chase, but seeing as you're civilians it looks like I'll hafta be a bigger talker than usual."
He drew out a pointer from his files and brought up a three-dimensional map in the centre of the table. It glowed with a faint pinkish-red light, detailing Portal Breach's system, as well as the planet itself, which were what comprised "Gamma-X", after all. Nebula zoomed in on a specific area and pointed it out.
"Several months ago, we noticed strange activity around the galaxy's asteroid belt. Upon closer inspection, we found the remains of several space shuttles. Some were too busted up for us to glean much information on them, but others were pretty much in one piece. Their cargo was stripped, all the personnel onboard dead. Scorch marks found at the scene indicated the use of heavy plasma fire." As he spoke, video feeds from the wreckages they had found made up a second three-dimensional portrayal, confirming everything he said. "In order to prevent any more losses, we set up patrols around the area, each cruiser about eight hundred klicks away from the other. After a week or two, we spotted some activity around this here sector, and confirmed our suspicions.
"It was obviously a band of pirates, and we managed to chase down one of their shuttles. We took two down, the rest got away, but it was still something, and we learned that they weren't just scavengers out to pick on easy prey." Here, his expression noticeably darkened. "The pirates were out for bigger game. They were organised, their targets specific. They just didn't count on us picking up on their trail, which was why they'd stick to the asteroid belt and the outer system. But we space rangers're used to travelling a galaxy, not a single star system. We'd cross through systems in leaps and bounds! But... we lack the numbers to launch a full-scale assault into the outer system. And that's where you come in."
He lowered his stylus and fixed each of them with a low-browed look.
"The plan is simple. I'll split you up into three teams, and have a couple of space ranger teams accompany you. Those of you who lack armour or space suits or weapons will be given them. Those of you who lack zero-gravity training will also be given it. No buts; if you don't like it, the door's over there. But in a week's time, we're gonna hit those pirates right where it hurts."
Using the pointer again, Nebula indicated a few areas beyond the asteroid belt. "We've narrowed their bases down to these areas. It'll take some fishing around, but according to our sources they're just three. And once we've taken them down, we'll strike their mothership." He pointed at another area. "We didn't want to alert them to our presence, so we're not sure where the mothership is exactly, but its somewhere in the centre of this blind patch of space. Your task is to help us wipe out these bases, then accompany us on our full assault on their mothership."
He switched the three-dimensional holograms off, then eyeballed each of them in turn. "I ain't gonna lie. This is no cakewalk. So if you think you aren't up to snuff, say so now and you'll be escorted back to Portal Breach. If you think you've got the right stuff, you're gutsy. We'll see during this one week of training what you're made out of."
---
((Actually, now I need everyone to post again. Whoops, I thought I'd narrow this down bit by bit! But I decided in the end to give it to you all in one go so we don't waste much time. Now's your last chance to bail out of the mini-plot if you think your character isn't up to it or if you yourself are having second thoughts. Death is not activated, but the possibility on death will be mentioned in character.
Of, if you or your characters have any questions, feel free to ask them before you tell Nebula if you're staying or not!)) |

| As commander Nebula briefed them about the space sirates, Samus noticed the similarities to the space pirates SHE knew and had been hunting all her life. Some were left utterly destroyed and almost unrecognisable whilst others were left as fairly intact. Cargo stripped, all personell dead? Sounded like the usual tactic of her pirates. If they could get everything that they needed that was on board, they could just leave the vessel. If there was anything on board that they couldn't get, they would annihalate it so that no-one else could get their hands on it. Standard pirates used plasma weaponry... the higher-up ones used the newer nova weaponry. She also wondered whether it was red-hot plasma they had used or whether it was supercooled plasma. If it was supercooled, then fighting them would be a bad problem.
Samus stayed seated, but she spoke out. "Ive been hunting space pirates since the day i left my planet. If you need any help in training, i'm here. Ive blown up four of their base planets single-handedly, and recently successfully infiltrated a pirate base to retrieve my power suit from them and got it without detection. I know space pirates inside-out." The chozo/human/metroid hybrid announced her capability and will to help train. It didn't do good to attack space pirates unprepared. She wasn't boasting, but rather explaining a few of her feats so that she would be taken seriously and they may have more will to let her train these. Either way, by saying that she had pretty much told him that she was in. |
