PostSubject: I'M ON A BOAT (tag: Ninetails)   Thu 2 Jun - 21:39

A few hours of sailing through the ocean, gliding through the waters via shark-power, the iceberg boat was nearing the shore, or so the demons thought. Up ahead, the prince could see Oni Island, the place where Ninetails' dwell. The huge mountain face was nothing new to Prixlezub, as he had seen the place before when he visited the demon lord. Hmm, Perhaps the kitsune could direct them to shore? As the demon and the demoness were passing by the place, the prince climbed up onto a small peak of the chunk of ice, gazing up at the great island fortress.

"Ninetails! Demon Lord! Are you there?!" Prixlezub bellowed up at the mountain, "It is I, Prixlezub! I have a question for you, Ninetails, if you would not mind a brief audience!"

After that, the prince stood there, his arms crossed over his chest. Noticing that the sharks were still pushing the iceberg, the demon prince quickly turned around and gave them the order to stop for a moment. The great beasts of the sea obediently stopped their pushing on the ice, idly treading water as they awaited the prince's next commands of them. As for Layla, she was laying on her back, deciding to just nap under the sun's rays and enjoy the warmth that it gave as they traveled closer to shore and farther away from the cold arctic. Since the demoness was in a deep sleep by now, she hardly noticed the iceberg slow and then stop near the mountain, the ocean waves lapping against the sides of their ice boat with the tides and the winds.

As they had been getting closer to the shore, their raft had been starting to melt a little in the warmer waters, the snow starting to fade away from the top of the ice, while some of the sides on the giant block of ice seemed a bit smoother and melted looking, though nothing too serious. The prince still had enough ice in this thing to have a boat and that was all that mattered.

It was boring today. The imps and monsters lazed about, annoyed by the summer heat and the lack of anything to do. The demon lord herself was also sprawled out atop the castle, taking a nap and trying to keep cool as a few headless guardians fanned her by her demand. The lookout imps were hanging off of the foldings of the castle, mumbling something about humans and stew, hungry for them. Etoku continued his duties of looking out to sea, viewing and warning of people or trespassers they could attack and, hopefully, eat. The last few months, no one appeared to even approach the sea or island. Very boring.

"No one ever comes around here... why are we even still outside in this heat?" he growled, out of earshot of other monsters and imps. He continued like a loyal minion of staring blankly at the sea, his stomach growling as he awaited for nightfall, waiting for supper. As he glanced back at the demon lord, sprawled on her back like a puppy, he shook his head and glanced back, noticing something. Ooh! Was it a boat full of humans, lost at sea? He hopped up and played a flute, turning to the fox, "Ooh, demon lord Ninetails! There is something coming!" he said excitedly as the giant fox turned over, shaking off debris and climbing to the highest point to view whatever caught the imp's eye.

From that moment, she heard a familiar voice, and looked down to--was that an iceberg? Was... Was it being hauled by sharks? "... Huh. Is that normal?" the imp asked confused as the Demon Lord gave a strange face. It wasn't surprise, it was more so... well, okay, surprise. That wasn't something she had seen in the long years of her life--sharks hauling an iceberg. That was truly a sight to behold, if not a random one. Shaking her head, she noticed Iblis, and immediately recognized the figure to be Prixlezub. What in Nippon was he doing on an iceberg? "PRIXLEZUB! What are you doing on that sliver of ice??" she barked at him.

From the roof of the castle, she hopped onto the rock formation around the isle and slide down the side of it, onto a small cliff of sorts to the side that she safely stood upon, balancing herself to prevent falling. Yelling from that distance would be silly and something like this... she wanted to see closer.

Ah, there she was! The demon prince gave a slight wave at the demon lord as she hopped down from the fortress to get a better look at them. From the way she sounded, it seemed she was fairly surprised to see them there, on a block of ice. Given the circumstances, the prince probably would have done the same thing if he saw her floating about on an iceberg being hauled by sharks. Stepping down from the peak of the iceberg, the prince walked over to the edge of the block of ice, a grin on his face.

"Ah! Ninetails, a pleasure to see you again, I trust you are doing well?" Prixlezub greeted. "As for my current circumstance, this is the aftermath of a fight I had with the impostor at my fortress. We managed to kill of the creature, but got ourselves stranded in the process, though I got myself an idea when these fish came about, and I decided to use them to push our iceberg back to shore. Look at them! Seven great fish of the seas that I have placed under my control! Hah, I bet Zurg would not be able to do that if he were stranded on a block of ice."

Oh yes, the prince was feeling mighty proud of himself and his boat, standing tall and proud before the Demon Lord. However, soon he remembered what he was here for, and the beaming look faded. He still needed to figure out how to get to shore before his boat melted and they had to ride the sharks themselves to shore. Hmm, actually, that might be pretty awesome as well. Food for future thought.

"Ah, but I ramble. I need to ask you something, Ninetails. Would you happen to be able to direct us to shore? This place looks the same from every direction, and I am beginning to doubt the fish's navigating abilities." Prixlezub requested, glancing down at the mindless shark-servants he created, who were just sitting there idly as the demon talked.

Ninetails balanced herself on the small cliff and sat steadily, look at Prixlezub as he spoke and seemed proud of his strange way of transport, along with the story. Ahh, it was a fight of some sort. Such a strange place to fight or end up, but Ninetails nodded, "Strange, but a useful way to use the beasts of the land. And good day, Iblis." she nodded to Iblis and looked back at Prix. The idea of a shark hauled iceberg was weird, but it was convenient. Ninetails blinked and looked at Prixlezub once he asked where to go. Ninetails' isle moved around, he thought she knew the exact direction? She didn't exactly, but...

Judging from their direction, they came from the north. So that must mean the shore was east. Ninetails looked at the east, "I think it is east this day, my island moves around every day, of course. Give me a moment," the demon fox looked up and started speaking in Japanese, "海岸線を確認してください!" The imp saluted, and disappeared. For a moment, it was quite, but the imp returned, "これは、東です。" Ninetails nodded, she was correct. She turned and looked at Prixlezub, "It is to the east, as I have suspected. I just double checked. It's rather hot today, and I'm not exactly sure how far the shoreline is, but you should try and get along quickly. If you need any assistance, you need but ask, of course."

Prixlezub waited patiently for Ninetails to give him directions, glancing back some at the still sleeping Layla. Wait, Iblis? Oh, right, Ninetails probably did not know that the demoness had found her true identity. He would tell her later, when they weren't on a boat that would melt in the warmer waters of this part of the sea. The demon prince shifted his weight, awaiting the demon lord's reply to his question, and soon enough, he got his answer.

"So the shore is to the east then, good. Thank you Ninetails." The demon prince replied, "I will make it a point to get to shore quickly, as it I have noticed as well it is quite hot out here."

Nodding politely to the Demon Lord, the prince gave his farewell before turning to the sharks again, who still were idly floating about in the water, looking about with their glazed eyes. Walking over to the fish, Prixlezub assumed an air of authority once again, the fish looking up at him obediently. Once he felt that he had their attention the prince begin to give his orders, "Beasts of the sea! Start pushing this block of ice east to the shore! Take your positions as you did last time."

As the prince gave his orders, the fish went to their positions and began pushing the iceberg again, water spraying up in white plumes as the sharks began their haul again. Within moments, the iceberg was moving again, water waking behind them smoothly. The seven shark-power boat was now on the move again, and heading for where shore was. Turning back to the demon lord, Prixlezub moved over to the end of the iceberg and waved to her as he left.

"Farewell Demon Lord, thank you for the directions!" Prixlezub called to her, Layla still laying on her back and sleeping.

Well, that was an odd spectacle, wasn't it?
Ninetails nodded as Prixlezub commanded his fish-minion to carry onwards, "Good day, Demon Prince and Iblis." and she watched them sail off a bit before hopping back up the steep rock face. Such a strange turn of events, but at least it was something to muse over. Hopping over to where she had laid before the interruption, she sat once more and took a spot to nap.

"Perhaps later I'll have to go to the mainland," she thought aloud as she yawned and glanced at her minions, "Fan faster, it's quite hot out, today." Laying down and curling into a ball and ready to nap.
