So, guys, I finally figured out how the points system works! And it can actually be made into a proper monetary system. I feel stupid for only figuring out that donating points meant that I could just give them out freely, derp. The only real problem would be that admins would have to handle fee exchanges, but it's not like it's any different from granting levels or the money system we were thinking of implementing initially. It's actually far more convenient if you think about it, because the points system is already there, and what else could we do with points, huh?

Do you guys think that finally going through with this and incorporating a proper money system would be a kickass idea? :3

I dunno. I've actually admined a forum that used this post-based monetary system for about a year. It was a good way to kickstart posting... mostly one liners. Then the whole thing fizzled out as people lost interest.

That said, can't base an opinion on just one test, can we? This will definitely be a bit of a headache in the first few weeks/months, but if we actually get it working and merchants get the ol' supply and demand prices balanced, it could be fun.

Though, like I said the last time we talked about this, we don't have enough members to justify a full on economy. Merchants will have to be paid weekly/monthly on the assumption that NPC citizens shop at their place or make use of their services.

The merchant thing can easily be done if they're all paid the same amount per week/month. Apparently, there's a way to mass-give points to a single group. So if I made an invisible merchant group solely for that purpose, it could work.

So far, the point system is 1 point per post and 1 point a day. If we implemented a monetary system, I can probably remove that.

And no, I don't plan for this economy to be tots serious. I was thinking it could be used to justify exchanges more easily. Like, giving people legit reasons to purchase potions or first aid kits now. :3

I like the idea, but you may have to split up responsibility amongst admins or just assign someone to go through and give everyone pay checks on a certain day. Like everyone gets paid on friday, and so whoever is doing it has to go through on friday and give everyone their pay for that week.

Whoever would do it would have to keep on it though. Otherwise they'd lose track of the money and things would get complicated.

But yeah if they can, then i see no problem with it; I think it would be something interesting to try out.
