Finally, after much debate and contemplating, we have decided who shall become moderators of the site. Now, before I spill the lunar beans and tell everyone what's what, you know it's mandatory that a speech is involved. Yes, yes; save your belly-aching! There were several people who put in forms and we'd just like to inform them, and everyone, that the effort they put into their applications was both appreciated and welcomed. We like to see people who can step up to the plate and actually take the time to fill out something of importance no matter the size, and this shows they are willing to assume responsibility. After all, being a moderator is no laughing matter! Not everyone who applied made the cut, but everyone who participated were at some point considered. Now, without further ado, the results you're all waiting for.
Battle Moderator: The battle moderator must not only be keen on using the site through navigation, but they must also be alert and aware as to what is going on around them. They must spend a fair amount of time and be willing to use the system as it was intended. This includes regulating health, power troubles, and die/coin. When in doubt of a battle or situation, the battle moderator can call upon fellow moderators or an admin to resolve the situation. Because of these requirements, we have anonymously selected Zimbo (Kev). Well done, you little nosy thing, you!
Death Moderator: I'm sure the moment I typed the title someone jumped for joy. The role of the death moderator, while seemingly small, is very important. This moderator must be able to come up with designs within a character's trials, and they must be willing to post consistently as many of Portal Breach's inhabitants die regularly. Take Kit Ballard, for instance. They will command The Good Doctor and ensure the lives of Portal Breach's citizens are in good hands. For this, we have anonymously selected Adam (Carrie Akyla). Don't make us regret this, Canuck. *Note: Death moderator must get the approval of TWO admins to start a trial for a character to ensure fairness and non-bias.
Maintenance Moderator: Finally, the maintenance moderator. While not a glorious or obvious role, the maintenance moderator is very, VERY important. This moderator will be tasked with overseeing the site's structure and organization. They will have the duty of fixing grammatical errors, offering tips to those who require help with their posts, and cataloging the forums and sub-forums into a design that fits. And while the person selected will not require a stricter timezone as the others, the one we anonymously selected shall find no troubles with this. Buta (Ava Wyreth) will be our maintenance moderator. Now you finally get an official reason to do the things you, well, do. Just don't edit my things willy-nilly! *Note: Maintenance moderator must inform TWO moderators of what they will be doing before it is done. Same goes with PMing or telling an RPer about what needs to be fixed.
But, before I conclude this post, we did have some very close calls. And because of this, we have decided to add one more category to the moderator list.
Chatbox Moderator: The chatbox is a crazy place. Sometimes we get along, sometimes we just want to rip each other's genitals out. Whatever the reason, it's a scary, hectic place. And because of this we need someone we can trust. Someone who can be there and have a sound and resolved mind. And someone who is loyal to the site and not afraid to take the heat when it comes flying out of the angry lady's mouth. For this, we have anonymously selected Kylie (Leo). We know you can keep a level-head and be fairly unbiased, so we entrust you with managing our chatbox. Or at least attempt to!
That said, we have our selected moderators so please congratulate them and those who sent in their forms. And to those selected, do not worry. In the event a moderator needs help, the other moderators and even admins can come to their aid. I'd like to think of ourselves as a family, a very dysfunctional one, so if anyone ever needs help don't be afraid to ask!
