This universe itself, created by Portal-Alpha and Portal-Omega, was once referred to as Alpha-Omega. However, with Portal-Omega’s ‘death’ and Portal-Alpha assuming control, it is now referred to simply as Alpha.
Alpha contains several Gammas, not unlike galaxies for lack of a suitable term, although they more closely resemble solar systems. Each Gamma has several planets contained within. Some are dead and lifeless, some have precious minerals, some are uninhabited and some house their capitals and the general populaces.
Portal Breach, as we know it, is the single planet in Gamma-X that contains the majority of its citizens and serves as its capital. Portal City is the capital city of Portal Breach. Surrounding the Breach and its sun are several other planets, space stations and the like.
Portal Breach orbits the sun, along with several other planets. The sun contains a core within its centre that is unreachable and is the source of Portal-X’s powers. Unlike other Portals, Portal-X is also the most powerful, representing Balance. This is because his citizens are all different amongst themselves and provide him with the variety in powers he needs. Other Portals have drawbacks in this, only being able to draw on the emotion they represent. Whenever they visit other Gammas, for example, they are severely weakened, being unable to draw on the emotions of citizens not in tune with their powers. Each Portal is at their strongest in their own Gamma.
The first planet orbiting the sun is extremely hot on the side facing it and extremely cold on the other. There is no life whatsoever on it and no atmosphere to even support it. It takes 60 months to reach it at sub-light speed.
The second planet is a planet riddled with acid rain, poisonous and noxious gasses, and volcanoes bursting with lava. It is a Level 3 hazard planet and one would need specially-pressurised suits to venture upon its surface. Perhaps if one harvested its natural resources, one might be able to make something out of it. It takes around 25 months to go to this planet at sub-light speed.
The third planet is inhabited and is named Mahambas VII, but only up to a point. It is a beach resort planet, a planet most inhabitants of Portal Breach go to for vacation and to relax. It is full of small islands, beaches, hotels, spas, exotic clubs with everything and anything you can possibly imagine. It takes around takes 12 months to reach and sub-light levels.
Star Command orbits Portal Breach, the fourth planet from the sun, and takes around six hours to reach it at sub-light speed from Portal Breach’s single space terminal. Cosmo’s Cosmic Diner lingers just a little further away on its own gravitational stabiliser, never shifting, and takes around 10 hours to travel to.
An asteroid belt separates the rest of the Gamma, at least five times the size of our own. Beyond it exist other planets, which are harder to reach than the first three.
Planet Z is the fifth planet that orbits the sun. Not originally in the scheme of Gamma-X, it was transported there at Zurg’s wishes along with its three defence moons. It is a red, barren wasteland of a planet, riddled with purple lightning, giving it the air of an uninviting and hostile environment. It is home to the Evil Emperor Zurg and his forces, and no one can visit it without his express permission or else they risk the chance of total and utter annihilation by his defence moons—and if they pass those, by him and his forces. At sub-light speed, it takes around 18 months to reach.
The sixth planet is a jungle-like planet with swamps and bogs and strange inhabitants that adorn themselves with colourful feathers and the skulls of their enemies. It is breathable, but the air contains natural toxins and poisons exhumed from the plants dotting its surface. The dense foliage captures the heat and it rains almost everyday. The plants’ noxious fumes, when inhaled without a filter for protection, can cause severe hallucinations, either benign or malignant depending on the afflicted person’s psychological state of mind. However, these plants also have a precious fruit rumoured to heal all sicknesses and ailments, and is rumoured to be the source of youth and longevity that most, if not all, seek on Portal Breach. It takes around 27 months to travel to.
The seventh planet is a hauntingly beautiful swamp covered with a forest of giant mushrooms. The marsh’s innumerable lakes and pools are clean of any taint, and most native animals and fungi give off soothing phosphorescent light. Though largely teeming with life, the planet’s self-contained ecology is faltering, sections beginning to die at a rapid rate as of late, the sapient fungi of the region struggling to return them to life. It takes around 61 months to travel to.
The eighth planet is a gas giant with gorgeous iridescent rings made of space dust, glowing like a rainbow in the darkness of space. It houses gravity a thousand times heavier than Portal Breach and other planets and is difficult, if not impossible, to travel to or to land on its surface. It takes around 92 months to travel to.
The ninth is a dangerous primitive-like planet with two clans constantly clashing and at war with each other. It is advised that you do not land here, for any communication with these clans have brought fruitless results if you do not choose a side. It takes around 129 months to travel to.
The tenth planet is almost like a floating chunk of ice. Ice and snow prevail, with few but vicious creatures lurking about on its surface and below. Despite how far this planet is from the sun, it houses very precious minerals and metals. It is rumoured that there are crystal caves of natural beauty and that the strongest metal in existence is buried underneath all the ice and snow. It is only known as Exrium, a black ore riddled with streaks of cyan, but its existence is considered a myth since so very, very few have claimed to have seen it or have samples in their possession. It takes around 176 months to travel to.
The last and eleventh planet is only referred to as Glitch. It is a planet where flying pink elephants and panties raining from the sky are a reality—because it contains all the errors and deletions in the history of Gamma-X. To venture here is madness, death, and risking permanent deletion if your data mixes and is corrupted by the horrors found here. It takes around 242 months to travel to.
And as the saying goes, first come, first serve!
