| Amara Leto had followed Arius, going through the blood sealed doors. The blood magic so much a hallmark of House Tremere was everywhere, the walls, the floor, the desk, several items, everything that could concievably be enchanted, was. She relaxed considerably, but kept alert. Her 'seals' were in pockets, but they were inactive. It would cost her little vitae to activate the pertinent seals.
"As you are older, more experienced than I and only one, I will call you leader of the House and Prince. I am, as you claim, a neonate and not of much consequence outside or being Tremere and Kindred." She bowed her head respectfully.
"I am glad, very glad to find you, Mr. Lamont. I am no unmeticulous maker of many like Sabbat." She spat the word with appropriate venom. "Better us survive than rabble rousing Brujah or insane Malkovian. Better for our line to greet this other world's nights."
She shifted. "If need be... I would submit to the first step of a blood bond if you have doubt of my loyalty." |

| The lawyer sat in his chair across the young Tremere female. He absorbed in her conversation, like an adult listening to a child explain their reasoning for something. This one was so young. So naive. Yet, so devoted to the clan. Lamont found her to be pleasant company. Finding a fellow member of the usurper clan was like meeting a long lost relative. As part of the clan, she was like a sister to him. A younger, ignorant, sister that needed to be guided. Well, as a reagent, it was his duty to see to the newer Tremere.
"No, no, no. There will be no need. I trust you enough. Though mark my words, I would implement it if I felt it was necessary. But that is not the case." The cainite explained, pulling out a bottle of aged blood wine. "Amara Leto, I have already explained much of this new world to you, but there is still much for you to learn --not even mentioning the continuation of your Tremere studies. Which reminds me, I would like to consider you to be officially be an apprentice under my Chantry, if that is alright. I have plenty of rooms here, so you are more than welcome. Anywho, any questions you have before I further my spiel?" |

| "I am honored to have you as my guide, Master Lamont." She bowed her head. "I have no questions of you yet, I will listen to what you have to teach me and ask questions if I do not understand something."
She was smart... she could certainly learn. "This will be a beautiful home." |

| "Very well."
Lamont nodded and silently moved out of his chair. He motioned himself over near the fireplace, where the thaumaturge paced himself back and forth.
"Since arriving here, I have partaken in the taboo of modified diablerie. Using soul thaumaturgy, I have perfected the art of removing souls from any being that bears one, and consuming it. This has been justified in that these victims are not camarilla or even kindred. I would never commit diablerie on one of our own kind, save for the Sabbat and the Assamite. Thus, I will permit the consumption of souls. However, since this is a rather controversial act of mine --I know full well that the Camarilla would have been most displeased, but the nature of our clan is of diablerie, so I do not see any worry-- I understand if you do not wish to partake in soul consumption. However, if you do, there are several things to note. First of, the actual act of it requires extensive learning on the ritual. Secondly, removing an entire soul from someone results in their permanent death. However, half a soul allows them to function without too much complications. On a different note, I have also imposed contracts upon several players of this realm. They are bound under these blood documents I have forged and obey my orders." the cainite explained at length.
Turning back to face Amara, the lawyer watched her expression.
"However, I think the greatest triumph of mine has been becoming a step closer to thee Tremere himself's original goal. Using a philosopher's stone from a variation of alchemy in this land, I resurrected my body, bringing it back from unlife. I guess you could say I am a living vampire. I am able to walk in the sun, consume food, and other human actions."
He paused, waiting for any response from her. |

| His words ran past her ears. Indeed, these actions were not unknown by the fledgeling. "I will study the diablerie... it sounds like a good way to gain power."
She nodded at the mention of contracts. They were good for allies and enemies alike... and amusing in watching them hang themselves in technicalities.
Her face went from studious listening to disbelief. "Alchemy? Living vampire?" She echoed.
This was... "Unbelievable... truely? How? Is it repeatable?"
Swallowing human swill... but it was what the original had wished for... she did see benefits-walking under daylight perhaps. "This is incredible..." |

| The regent was pleased that his apprentice accepted his acts of diablerie and contracting. While she lacked experience, she was wise --which was not an easy trait to possess without the background knowledge. Still, she was a fine Tremere neonate; Amara could definitely be molded and refined to be an excellent clan member.
"I see you are interested, which is expected. Yes, using a form of alchemy from another branch of magic, I have used several human souls to formulate a Philosopher's Stone that can break the laws of equivalent exchange. Using that artifact, I paid the price for my life back. And yes, it is repeatable. It would only require more human souls to fuel it. I also crafted a method of using our thaumaturgic alchemy to produce what I have dubbed 'the bloody philosopher's stone' --a substance that produces infinite vitae. I had been eager to share this with my clan-mates. It is an astonishing discovery and step forward. If only the council of seven could learn of this." the thaumaturge spoke.
The kindred opened the door of the office, stepping out into the hallway.
"Come, your dorm is ready." the thaumaturge stated. |

| She stood, nodding. "I will follow."
So much to consider...! A stone that could give infinite vitae! She was lucky. She admired the marvelous carvings on the walls.
This was getting better and better. "I am appreciative, so very much."
This was ironic. Hiding in the midst of hunters. Ah well. |

| Walking through the mystifying hallways of the enchanted Chantry, Arius safely walked through his magical domain. Eventually, the Tremeres reached the dormitory section. There were several doors on either side, each for any visitor or clan member that stayed the night. Amara's door had a gold name plate on it, with "Miss Amara Leto" in red letters, with black outlining. Unlocking the door thaumaturgicly, the regent opened the door to reveal Amara's room.
It was finely furnished, with regal carpeting, personal bar, bathroom, double bed, computer, chests, and dressers. Knowing the lady to be knowledge based, the church presider added a bookshelf.
"I understand it is rather basic, so feel free to add any furniture you desire. I hope you enjoy it here." the lawyer stated, pulling out a book, "These are the standard Tremere guidelines, along with a 'survival guide' for this Chantry. I have had to preform extensive augmentations to this house of Tremere for security, so it would be vital to memorize all the workings of it." |

| Amara took the book gently from his hands. "This will be very useful and it is very thoughtful. I am lucky to be Tremere. Goodness knows I wouldn't make a very good Lord of the Damned." She smiled wryly. Though hungry for power, it was for knowledge both 'mundane' and mystical.
After all, knowledge is power. "I will see to what I need, there are plenty of services for the newcomer here. Mortal government appears to be more effective here."
She smiled as she surveyed the room. Ahh, bloodwine. "Is there anything you require of me?" She asked him carefully. |

| Arius smiled at his apprentice, pleased at her approval of the room he had assigned her. This would nice to have another Tremere in the Chantry. Lamont had not hosted anyone else in this house since Kev left to go venture off with romance. Foolishness. Oh well, the alien was surely lost without him --the lawyer knew it. His old friend had chosen his way.
"Nope. There is nothing I require you for. If you need me, I will be in my office for awhile. Otherwise, you are dismissed, neonate." the kindred stated, smiling kindly. |
