She held the words in her mind: Vocate venti fortunate ex regina Papilionis, et hic navis flugem regate ad orae Nova Avalonis.

These words had not changed. There was much she had neglected to tell Arius, but to be fair, she had told him. Again, she had visited in her human guise. She knocked at the door, ready. "It is I, Psyche." She called through the door.

He wanted to restore Avalon? Very well. He needed to know how to get there first.

The lawyer sat in his comfy chair in his cozy office. He was translating various archaic notes on proper self-correcting magic rune formation. The thaumaturge was interested in its application with responsive counter-magic. Perhaps he could produce runes, rituals, and transmutation circles that modified themselves to counter any magic that they encountered. It would be very beneficial to the Tremere; he had enchanted himself with thaumaturgic counter-magic, but there could always be improvements. Of course one could easily use a basic counter-magic dispelling that targeted any magic, but it would be the difference between homemade and store-bought pie --that good old cooking had a little bit more of something than the manufactured.

However, Arius was interrupted in his works as Psyche entered his domain. The vampire sensed her presence long before she spoke up from the other side of the door.

"Come in, Psyche." the church man stated, putting away his books and notes. The door unlocked and swung itself open for the queen of fae, allowing her to enter.

Psyche smiled as she entered. She still could not sense his emotions. "Lord King. Your plans to come to New Avalon and restore it have a number of things you must know.

"Firstly, New Avalon needs both our hands to be restored to balance. I, for chaos, you for order and law. I cannot restore all, because of my nature as the embodiment of emotion. I... feel the land's agony and putrescence as my own.

"The second is that the monsters have gathered in the castle mainly. If they are removed, the balance can be restored and the magic will flow purely, recreating its paradise.

"Thirdly, there is a small spell that acts as a password to New Avalon that is known to few." She recited the Latin phrase to him. "This will grant you entry."

"Fourth is that your power... your mastery of New Avalon... requires you be seated in the throne. Two fae will bow the land will react accordingly. The castle may change in accordance with your whims, even."

"Lastly is... my ritual to crown you... also makes me... bounded to you above any other selighe sidhe. I effectively gave you a piece of... Eros's life force, since the true fae lack souls. I do not, since I am a quarter human."

She seemed to fidget. "In placing the crown on your head, you accepted that piece of lifeforce, which makes you a sort of changeling, though it will only serve two purposes that should not intrude on your nature except an exceptionally long life. One to let Avalon react more readily to you, to make your magic compatible with the land's... and the other is to let my authority flow to you... by..."

She couldn't spit it out.

The Tremere vampire nodded as Psyche spoke, intently watching and listening to the queen of fae.

What she was saying was cohesive. Law and Order, spatial empathy, monster concentration, and magic flow were all understandable. Lamont already knew the incantation spell, having been told at a previous point. Thus, that was not new to the cainite.

Yet as Psyche continued, Lamont needed to absorb the information a little bit more actively. He would need to be sit upon the throne. That was not bad; he always had wanted a throne. The castle and land changing by his willpower were also interesting aspects.

The mistress of emotions being bound to him was a fine idea by Lamont. Absorbing life force was also not something to complain about. But then the implication of it hit like a brick to the face. The living vampire also had the essence of that of a changeling? Peculiar. This would need to be looked into. While he did not care for longevity --he already it--, the magic compatibility would be useful. Yet other questions came to the kindred.

"Several inquiries, Psyche." Arius commented with a blank face.

"When you say that I am a changeling, are you sure that there are no other effects on me? My knowledge on fae and changelings is limited. Will I be weak to iron as you are? Or immune to illusions --more than I already am? Elaborate, if you please." the lawyer asked. "Also, what do you mean by flow to me by what? Explain yourself."

His decision was proving to have a wider outcome than he originally had estimated.

"You will not see any change in your biology nor your magic, the piece of spirit is like a charm, enabling an effect without changing the 'wearer'." She informed him. "It serves only to identify you to Avalon and to bind me to you, nothing more. In older days, only magic from the Third Race was allowed on Avalon. This piece of spirit will allow you to bypass this ancient law.

"As for illusion, due to our bond, you will now be totally immune to illusions as I am."

She bowed her head. "There are two ways for my authority from and over New Avalon can be given. By a child of mine receiving my blessing and through a bonding." She fidgeted.

"Though it will likely mean nothing to you, the piece of spirit is the source of the bond... perhaps you have heard the legend of Psyche and Eros...?"

Very well then; this was acceptable. Magic laws were always a trifle, but this was a fine solution. As long as he remained in his current immortal and immune state, the Tremere had no care if he was part changeling. In fact, the ability to see through illusions would be useful. Through auspex and the changeling perception, he would easily see through deception of the senses.

"Why yes, I have heard of the story of Psyche and Eros --Greek Mythology. What about it?" Lamont inquired. Of course the kindred knew the legend involving Psyche and her sisters, Aphrodite, Eros, and other mythological figures. But where was Psyche going with this?

Arius was intrigued by where this was leading. Could she mean that --no, he would not make assumptions based off suspicion. Not yet, anyway.

Psyche looked down. "Once, there was a maiden born called Psyche, for she seemed to be followed by butterflies. She was brought to Avalon once she became a woman by the recogning of the time. To control both her power and to reign in one who did not appreciate Oberon's rule, she was married and bonded to Eros. As proof of their bond, he gave her a piece of his spirit and a part of his magic. She gave him obedience over all but Oberon and blood. The bond was left incomplete, for her blood would be poison to him. Thankfully, this meant that her obedience was not complete. When he attempted a coup, Psyche, Puck, Bastet and a number of others stopped him. For her betrayal, he used the very iron blade he was to slay Oberon and Titania with to stab Psyche." She reverted to her true form and pulled down the top of her dress to show the wound-now a horrific scar. She placed the cloth back over it, the scar now unseen.

"That is the true story of Psyche and Eros. The bond is incomplete, but it will serve."

She had likely just made a very bad mistake.

Arius soaked in this knowledge. What Psyche spoke of had interesting implications. Perhaps he could...

"So you are telling me that you are only partially bonded to me, the only thing separating you from a full bond would be your blood? Do you mean like, oh I don't know, consuming your blood --if so, how much? Or perhaps consuming your body in entirety. Please, explain further. I am just curious." the Tremere inquired, running his tongue along his sharp teeth.

The Tremere would enjoy profiting from this if it was true. Who knew that a simple request for the deed to New Avalon could have such a powerful aftermath. The lawyer was pleased with this.

"It would require a little, though it would need to be renewed on occasion. My body would not need to be consumed." She told him. "That... would end the bond, given the nature of this world if you were to kill me."

Perfect. This was absolutely glorious.

"Very well then. Now if you excuse me, Psyche, this will just hurt a bit." Arius stated, raising a finger. Using thaumaturgy, the Tremere asserted control over the fae's blood, pulling it from her fingertip through a small slice. The stream of droplets floated through the air and onto the kindred's tongue. Swallowing it, he tasted the unique flavor.

"So, what does this mean now, Miss Psyche?" the cainite inquired, looking up at the mistress of emotion's face.

She kneeled to Arius. "It is time to restore New Avalon, milord. I am yours as well; when you are in need of me, my abilities, which include making various magical objects or that which I have on me, ask it of me and I shall give it."
