Liz had to smile as she led her husband around the city. He had no idea. "This... is not going to be a typical training session." She told him. "I had to call up the owner to arrange this, but I think that this will be well worth it."

With the stress of her getting hurt and his newish job, they didn't just need practice, they needed relaxation. It was then that the garish lights of the arcade came into view. And soon enough, the joyous din of dozens of consoles going on at once.

"Welcome to gun training." She grinned as they came to a machine gun game stand.

"All right, I'll bite," Hellboy smirked as he followed Liz along the busy street cities. "What's this surprise arrangement?"

He took the time to inhale deeply, finding the city's familiar scents comforting as his hand tightened around Liz's waist. It was actually nice, taking a breather from taking care of the children. 42 was having a blast babysitting, and by now they knew enough not to get into too much trouble when their parents weren't around. Now that Hellboy thought about it, he and Liz had never had much of an opportunity to act like a real couple.

So when they came to a stop at none other than the arcade, Hellboy couldn't help but snigger heartily. "Now this is gun training I'll like," he said, grabbing one of the plastic machine guns.

"How'll we keep track of the score?" he asked, tail curling. Damn, this thing could break if he squeezed it too hard. He'd have to be careful not to break anything.

Liz felt glad that HB liked her unusual training. "The aim of this game is to shoot out the red star. Each of us will try for three stars. Whoever shoots out more stars wins. If there's a tie, we can break the tie with the next part of our... training."

She had to grin. He might actually enjoy the next part of training best... "You first. Each try gets two hundred shots... sounds easy, huh?"

Each target was roughly three feet away, just over a meter. However, the lights obscured the distance and the stars were quite small. Though there were a number of shot out stars pinned up, it was not quite as easy as it looked.

"I'll have to make sure this ends in a tie then," Hellboy said, feeling a naughty smirk form in answer to her grin.

Taking his cue to start first from her, he focused his gaze on the stars, narrowing his eyes as he tried to pinpoint his target. Once a red star hobbled into view, he squeezed the trigger.

CRAAAAACK!

Liz clapped. "Wow, you shot out the whole star. My turn." She picked up another gun and the operator poured in the BB shot. She eyed the star and took aim and pulled the trigger.

Hellboy couldn't help but chuckle. "Are you trying to lose on purpose or is it just me?" he teased, firing another shot once a red star danced into view.

"I think you might be, too." She poked him playfully and reloaded the cheap gun. She sighted down the barrel, looking to the star.

"Huh. Maybe this thing is rigged." He shook the plastic gun a few times, then spied another star and fired at it again.
