"Keelah...Where did I put that little bosh'tet...Argh! Keelah!"
Tali'Zorah vas Normandy gave up looking underneath her service bed and almost bonked her helmet upon the bunk above her as she stormed up. It was a big day today and of all the days of days, her omni-tool had somehow gotten a will of its own and disappeared!
"Oh if I'm late for the ceremony then they will all think badly of me--of Quarians in general for that matter--and then Commander Shepherd and the rest of the crew will never invite me to special occasions ever again!" She lamented, clutching her head with all six fingers before stomping a foot upon the floor in frustration. She had waited all week for her suit to receive special upgrades from the Migrant Fleet, and since Quarians were already busy trying to patch their own, rickety ships, Tali'Zorah had gone through great lengths to have the parts arrive on time. If she was tardy now and missed the party, all those resources would be for nothing!
And waste was a serious frown from her people.
"Oh what's the use...." Tali'Zorah sighed with a hopeless shrug before slumping onto her bed, her head hung over her knees as she continued holding it. "It's not like I'll need my omni-tool for one day, so maybe I can just hope that I won't get a suit tear, or an air leak, or...or...or....Keelah."
She really needed that blasted omni-tool!
With a snort, the disgruntled Quarian made one last look around her room, throwing possessions this way and that, and just as she thought everything was really hopeless, something managed to twink and splutter.
"Hmm? Oh!" Tali'Zorah lifted up her pillow and practically helmet-palmed after its removal. "It was under the pillow all this time! Maybe I'm the silly, little bosh'tet'!" She would laugh if she could, but time was wasting and she had a party to attend!
Commander Shepherd had defeated Saren and the Geth, but she doubted they would wait for her after all they went through together!
Slapping the omni-tool around her wrist and checking her suit one last time, Tali'Zorah finished her calibrations and headed off down the cool, silent corridors of the Normandy, her feet double-timing it into the service elevator.
"Mess Hall...Mess Hall...Ah-hah! Mess Hall." Tali'Zorah pressed the holo-key and backed away as the elevator doorway slid over her, the transport easing itself downwards. She never did get why humans--and turians--built things so...so...so impersonal, so cold, but now wasn't the time to study the architecture of different alien tastes.
Now was the time to party!
DING!
The elevator slowed to a halt, and Tali'Zorah let out a little squeal inside her helmet as she bounced up and down upon the balls of her heels.
"Hurry up, hurry up, HURRY UP!"
The doorway peeled upwards, but no sooner had the first plate of metal lifted, Tali'Zorah immediately knew something was wrong. So, so, so very wrong.
Instead of seeing the glows of the overhead lighting, the gleams of the silver ship tiles, the smiles of her friends and allies, she instead saw what appeared to be...a city? There were buildings, streets, people, lights--yes, a city! But...she was on a ship. How did she get to be in front of a city....
"Oh no..." Tali'Zorah took a few cautious steps out of the elevator, her hand upon her holstered pistol and she immediately began a standard sweep of the area for safety. There were roads, civilians, vehicles, and her elevator--but that's what got her. Her elevator was smack-dab in the middle. It was just a box standing out in the open, literally.
"Oh no, no, no, no...This cannot be happening..." She fretted under her breath, the little service light winking with every word she spoke. "I am supposed to be on the Normandy; not some....some alien planet! Ohhhh, if this is some sick, twisted joke, I am going to implant skin-irritating lice into the ship's ventilation and let them all scratch for weeks!"
The fuming Quarian holstered her pistol after one last look over her shoulder, and took off into the crowd.
Disappearing like a regular person in the sea of strange oddities.
"Hmm...wonder if there's any Geth here..."
((Hope I did all right! Got really nervous typing this up, so....))
