| | | Posting Strikes and Thread Limits | Mon Jan 09, 2012 6:30 am by Hellboy | Hello, Citizens of Portal Breach and fellow Roleplayers! Just an update to two important things you'll all need to remember!
---
Due to the voting results and discussion that went on in this thread, we shall now be implementing posting strikes. If any of you have been following the Space Pirates mini-plot, you'll have noticed that posting strikes have been tested out there and seem to be progressing smoothly. Therefore, where it concerns plots, the following rule shall be implemented:
You have a maximum of three days to post before the NPC/Boss does. Failure to do so will earn you a strike. Once you have reached three strikes, you will be permanently removed from the thread and unable to participate in the plot any longer.
This is to ensure that slow posters do not stall plots. If you have a prior engagement (such as real life issues) that will prevent you from posting consistently, please tell the Plot Coordinator so that you can be excluded from the strikes. However, if your only reasoning in not posting is "lacking inspiration", that is not a valid reason and strikes will still be in effect.
The above is for plot-related threads only. In threads involving more than two people, it is up to the people involved to decide on how consistently they will post or not. You can remind your fellow RPers to post only once every three days or so, if your threads are stalling. But any more will be considered rude, as well as annoying.
---
As well as posting strikes, we shall now have a limit for the amount of threads a roleplayer can be in. The maximum thread count will be in accordance to how many characters you roleplay, and it is strongly encouraged you finish OLD threads BEFORE undertaking new ones.
1-3 characters -- 10 threads
4-6 characters -- 15 threads
It is strongly encouraged (though not enforced) that you post a thread here to help you keep track of your threads. This rule does not include NPC threads, fight threads, or plots; however, please take into consideration that NPCs are not a roleplayer's first priority and any threads involved with an NPC account might progress more slowly than a roleplayer's main characters. Also take into consideration that it is not realistic to have a whole bunch of fighting threads or plots going on at the same time. Take caution in whatever you sow.
---
That's all! If you have any questions or concerns, don't be afraid to ask!
